I had the VERY same problem with a iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.0.2. I did a hard reset and a full restore to factory settings and then a restore from a back up- nothing worked. I then read Cal4one's post on turning off the read text function (which I had just turned on days before to try out) and ta-da! all is well! I can now use Messages and when I go to attach a picture, the Photo library comes up quickly (it was not before the chance) and the Message app no longer crashes. Just to be safe, I turned off all reading functions in the Accessibility (settings/general/accessibility/speech) settings.

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete.

I would suggest you try to update your iOS 8.0.2 to the latest iOS 8.1.0 with iTunes on your computer. Don't try to do the update on your iPhone, it takes time and some error always occur. Try what you have not tried so far. You may have tried all and the Apple store maybe in order.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.

My 17" Macbook Pro won't start at all. I shut it down last night at 80% and today I get only a black screen with no sound, no light, nothing. The power cord light does show orange when plugged in. I don't know exactly which OS it is. It's model # A1286. I've tried all the tips about holding down different keys to no avail. Anyother ideas? (The serial # is w8******agu if that helps.) I had the exact same issue... Macbook Pro late 2008 with Core2Duo. Went to all the steps suggested in the knowledge base, tried to reset the SMC, but to no avail. Took it to the Macstore in Mexico, the wanted to replace logic board for $800.... Finally, I sent it to a logic board repair service, where they "fixed" the logic board for $200. It worked perfectly for 4 months, then happened again
