Leopard change my time format - no AM/PM option

Since upgrading to Leopard, I no longer have the option to format a time (within an AW database) to include AM/PM. It's vanished, and now times are either 24Hr, or 12Hr with no AM/PM.
Help!
(If there is a different app, that's as cheap as AW, that can read AW databases - including fancy formatting - i'd love to know)
Cheers,
Lee

Hello
What is exactly your system setting?
I ask that because some language settings are accompanied by a message saying "this language requires the use of Unicode encoding". Alas, Unicode encoding is not compatible with AppleWorks.
So, you will perhaps have to choose between your language and AppleWorks.
I apologize but it's not my fault.
It's a feature of the very old app named AppleWorks, one of those which pushed Apple to drop it.
Which exact version of AppleWorks are you using? There is no version specific to your country.
Just one "continental US English" and one "International English".
Are you sure that clicking one of the buttons 01:59 or 01:59:01 you don't get the time in AM/PM format? Maybe it's just a problem in the dialog ? As far as I remember, these strings are embedded as is in the app itself so it's difficult to think that they changed with Leopard.
Let me know which version you use and I will look at its behaviour under Leopard on my machine.
Last not least what machine are you running:
a PPC inside or an Intel inside Mac?

  • Change date/time format in Screen Shot file name?

I capture Screen Shots all day long.  But when I go to look for the one I just took, it's not always at the bottom of the list.  That's because Mac names them as e.g.
Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 1.19.04 PM.png (and the order gets screwed up).
Can I change to make save as e.g.
Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 13.19.04.png (this way they'll always stay in order).
    Thanks for any help.

  • Changing date/time format

    Hi there,
I live in the United States but prefer my dates to be in the dd/mm/yy format as opposed to the US mm/dd/yy format. I also like 24-hour time rather than AM/PM. I System Preferences>Language & Text>Region, I found the tool to modify my preferred date/time formats. However, I notice that the format of the date in my menu bar does not change (it still reads Sep 25 when it should read 26 Sep). All other dates/times appear to function correctly. I briefly switched the Region of the computer to the United Kingdom but quickly switched it back because of how autocorrect handled words like "color."
    Ideas?

That did the trick - sometimes the easiest thing to do is hard to see. Seems I have been working too long on a Windows machine (unfortunately, I have to do so at work)...
    Thanks for the quick help!

  • How do I change the time format in the menu bar?

I've gone to system preferences - language - date and time, and customized the time for 24 hour time with no colon between HH and MM.  The menu bar time display doesn't reflect this:-(

  • Change date/time format in XML

    Hi,
I have changed the date format in KM, by adding 'customFormat=d MMM yyyy HH:mm'in the Additional Metadata field of a property (e.g. app_date). The change is properly displayed in KM Folders.
However when I change app_date into a custom format and then try to use it in a XML form, it doesn't work. It still uses the general settings, thereby ignoring my additional metadata.
Does anyone know how I can solve this issue?
    Kind regards,

  • Change Date Time format in Iplanet Access logs

    Hi,
We are currently using iplanet web server. The default date format in the access logs is dd/mmm/yyyy:HH:MM:SS GMT. How can we change this format to yyyy/mm/dd:HH:MM:SS GMT.

You should not change this format. The default date format complies with the "common log format" which is readable by many log analysis tools.
That said, if you still want to change the date format, you can replace %SYSDATE% with %LOCALEDATE% in your flex-init line. LOCALEDATE will cause the WS to use the date format set by your OS.

  • Is it possible to change the time format of a CalendarActivity item

Does any know a way of changing the calendar to use the 24 hour time instead of AM / PM? I would ideally want it displayed this way as all entries are in 24 hour time.
I can find examples and have had success extending the DateCustomizer class but it seems to me only the headings can be changed using the skinning tags.
The tag would be "af|calendar::month-time-activity" but I see it is never passed into the public String format(Date date, String key, Locale locale, TimeZone tz) as the key.
Using jdev 11gR2 at present but a fairly implementation independant question.

You can't change the canvas at runtime. But you can put the scrollbar on a stacked canvas and then show or hide that stacked canvas on different canvases.

can i change the format to normal date time when query the CreationDate in this line "wmic process where name="ProcessName" get name,CreationDate" i need the script to be in single line and not to run in batch

No - all you have to do is add th this bit:
    @echo %xt:~5,2%-%xt:~7,2%-%xt:~1,4%
Just keep breaking down the string.
    @echo %xt:~5,2%-%xt:~7,2%-%xt:~1,4%
    %xt:~9,2%:%xt:~11,2%
YOu can extract and place any or all parts.   I just got too lazy to keep counting characters.

  • Changing date/time format in mail list

If listing my mails in the standard view, the date for the received mails shows in the long date format (i.e., Thursday, November 11, 2005). Since I am working on my iBook, I want to show the date in the short format (i.e., 11/11/2005) in order to save space on the screen - some people have long subjects in their mails.
I have checked out preferences etc, but I could not figure out how to change the format. I do not want to completely hide the date received column.

  • Changing cross-reference formats - what do my options mean?

Hi all, using TCS2 on Win 7 64 bit.
I have a question about changing a cross-reference format. I have one that is "<paratext>" right now - the " included. So my xref says (for example):
For more information, please see "Appendix 1".
I want to change this to that it doesn't show quotation marks anymore. I know the HOW of doing this, my question is once I have made the change, a dialogue box appears asking me which cross-references this change should apply to. My options are:
    Internal Cross-References
    References to All Open Documents
    References to All Documents
I don't know which one I should chose. I am working in a book structure that has a bunch of FM files imported to form chapters. Each file file uses this old style xref so I need to update the xref format in each file (I think I need to do this one by one) and in some instances my xrefs are within the same doc, sometimes they are to other files within the FM book. So I think I need to pick 'References to All Documents' but it says there is no undo so I'm seeking advice first!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Adriana

Internal means only within the current document. All open, and all, are self-explanatory.
Your question shows that you're not sure what will happen when all instances of the cross-references that use the format are changed, either because you can't remember what you created in your own book, or because you're working on a book created by someone else, or that you collaborate on with others.
Don't let "no undo" scare you off. You can undo the result by saving all the files, before you do the changes. From within the book window, hold Shift while clicking the File menu - Save changes to Save All Files in Book. Or, from within any open file, hold Shift while clicking the File menu - Save changes to Save All Open Files. After you save the files, performing any non-undoable operation like changing the cross-reference format only makes the changes, but doesn't save the affected files. These actions are undoable by holding Shift while clicking the File menu again; from within a book window, Close becomes Close All Files in Book, and from with an open file, Close becomes Close all open files. When prompted to save, click Don't Save. Alternatively, from within each open and changed file, File > Revert prompts for confirmation, and if you choose to continue, the last-saved version of the file reopens.
If you want yet another safety layer, copy the whole file structure that will be affected to a safe location. If the set of assets is sprinkled all around the system, Bruce Foster's inexpensive FM plug-in "archive" will copy the whole collection into one place: http://home.comcast.net/~bruce.foster/products.htm.
