Leopard doesn't work with Lego Star Wars II and ATI graphics?

My son has an iBook G4, and has been running Lego Star Wars II just fine under the latest release of OS 10.4. He just installed Leopard, and now the Lego Star Wars game says that his graphics board isn't enough to run the game. Is there a patch for this? He has a PPC G4 1.42 GHz with 512 MB RAM, ATI Mobility 9550 graphics board with 32 MB RAM. We installed 10.5.1 patch to the OS.
Any help?

Here are the minimum system requirements for Lego Star Wars II:
System Requirements
Mac OS X v10.4 or later
1.6GHz PowerPC or Intel processor
512MB RAM
64MB VRAM
3GB free hard-disk space
Mouse and keyboard
DVD drive
As you can see, your son's computer doesn't meet these requirements.
I'm sure he'll be happy when you tell him you have to buy him a new computer to play the game!

A Verizon-model iPad can only work on CDMA with Verizon. You cannot use it with any other carrier. Apple, to my knowledge, has not released the iPad in Yemen, so there is no iPad you can use with any carrier there that works only on CDMA. You would need to find a GSM carrier and then get an unlocked GSM iPad.

Google voice used to work with Snow Leopard and FF. Now with Yosemite, I place a call, pick my 'e' mail address, and nothing happens. What am I missing. I did download the googlevoice and video setup.dmg file. and have the google talk plug in 5.40.2.0 always activate.

  • Download doesn't work with MAC 10.4.11 and i just noticed my Firefox is 2.0.0.6

    Hi,
I tried downloading the free Firefox. As soon as I clicked on it a message popped up and said it wasn't compatible with my Mac.
My Mac is 104.11 and I cannot afford to buy another computer right now. The screens say it is compatible with MAC 10.4.11...
    Any suggestions

Sadly, Firefox no longer includes support for MacOS 10.4, however you can still use browsers similar to Firefox. <br>
[http://www.tenfourfox.com/ TenFourFox] is an unofficial build of Firefox for older Macs, and so will work on your computer. However since you are using a really old computer, it doesn't have all the features Firefox has. <br>
[http://caminobrowser.org/ Camino] is a community project to make the best Gecko-based browser for Macs around. Unlike TenFourFox it doesn't try to be Firefox, but instead does its own thing. <br>
[http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ SeaMonkey] is another community effort and is a continuation of the original Mozilla Suite which shares a few similar properties with Firefox. SeaMonkey is great for people who like their browsing experience retro.

  • What controller do I use with my 15" Macbook Pro Retina to play games like the Lego Star Wars series?

I have a bright and shining new 15" Macbook Pro with Retina display. I did not upgrade the processor or the storage. I want to play games on this great computer, too, games that need a controller . . ie . . The Lego Star Wars series and other action games that require a controller like I use on my X Box 360.
    What works? What works best?

It would help to post this in a more proper form. This is for the iTunes family of stores.

  • Buffalo Nas Navigator2 doesn't work with Mavericks

    Hello,
    On my Mac Pro (5.1) Buffalo Nas Navigator2 (v2.69 & v1.71) doesn't work with Mavericks :-(
The window opens and closes immediately (approximately 2s).
According the Buffalo support, all the versions works with Mac OS (including Mavericks ?)
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards
    Olivier
PS: the firewall is not enabled

    Hello Mark,
    Thank you for your message.
For your information, I have no problem with the Finder (I don't use cifs), I can see my LinkStation. The problem is only with Nas Navigator.
Yesterday I tried to use LinkNavigator: Link Navigator installs Nas Navigator and tried to connect to the Link Station, and I could see a message like "no Link Station found on the network" while I have 4 Link Station :-(
I believe that Finder and Nas Navigator do not use the same protocol.
It's curious that the support of Buffalo are not aware about the problem between Nas Navigator and Maverick.

PS: I also use fixed IP ;-)

What version of word do you have? The TS3938 sounds like it's a PowerPC app- written for an old architecture that is no longer supported in Lion. If this is the case, your files are fine- you just need a newer version of word that will run in Lion in order to open them. The newest version (2011) should be readily available anywhere, and has worked fine for me ever since I switched to Lion on release day....

  • IDVD doesn't work with Leopard

Hi, I recently installed Leopard and have had no problems with it until I tried to use iDVD today and found that the themes will not load. Does an upgrade to iLife 08 solve this problem?
I previously had no problems using iDVD. Below are the specs from my computer.
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: iBook G4
    Model Identifier: PowerBook6,7
    Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.5)
    Processor Speed: 1.42 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 142 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.9.3f0
    Serial Number: 4H543GPTSE9
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled
    Version: 1.0

    Hi
Yes iDVD 5 doesn't work with Leopard.
Installing iLife08 will install iDVD 08 which works BUT NOW iMovie'08 will not work
though it needs a G5 1.9GHz minimum. So You need to download iMovie HD 6 (6.0.4)
which You are entitled to as an iLife08 owner.

  • Publish for Approval - the new plug-in - doesn't work with Leopard

This aperture plug-in arrived for download just a few days before Leopard arrived. It worked great with Tiger. It doesn't work at all with Leopard. It appears that Leopard comes with a new version of Apache Server and it doesn't work with the Publish for Approval plugin. Does anyone know if and when an update will be released?

I'm not seeing the Java plugin in the plugins list in the System Details list.
Did you install the 32 bit Java version?
Do you see the Java plugin in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins"?

  • LEGO Star Wars

I am trying to get a straight answer on what Apple systems are compatible with the LEGO Star Wars game from Aspyr. The Apple web site and the Aspyr web site both suggest that a system with the ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce FX5200 or better video card is required. Apparently neither my G4 Mac mini nor my Intel Core Duo MacBook can play this game. The Apple web site suggests that the newer Intel Mac mini meets the requirements. My 8 year old would really like to play the game his uncle gave him for his birthday. His 6 year old Windows PC does not meet the requirements for the game and I refuse to purchase another Wincrap PC. Can someone confirm or deny this before I waste my money on a new system? I am hoping an Intel based Mac mini will meet the requirements.
Intel Core Duo MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   macmini G4

The Mac and PC versions are on the same disk. Neither work with any of my current Macs (MacBook and G4 Mac mini) because neither has the requisite video card. The specs from Apple page are:
    http://www.apple.com/games/articles/2005/08/legostarwars/index2.html#reqs
    System Requirements
    * Mac OS X version 10.3.8
    * 1.2GHz PowerPC G4 processor
    * 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
    * 32MB Video RAM (Radeon 9000 or GeForce FX5200 or better)
    * 2GB of hard disk space
    * DVD Drive
However, Apple game system page (http://www.apple.com/games/hardware/) has the game listed as compatible with the Intel Mac mini despite the fact that the Mac mini does not appear to have either of these video cards.

  • MX 440 - getting error on Lego Star Wars Demo - Vertex & Pixel shader?

    Hi people,
First time poster!  I have an old-ish card (GeForce MX 440) but it has always worked fine for me until today!
I have downloaded the huge Lego Star Wars Demo after so many positive reviews, but now get the error message:  "Sorry but your machine is unable to run this game.  We require a graphics card which supports vertex and pixel shader 1.1"
Well, I thought my card did... err.. does...  What am I doing wrong!!! Please help me someone! HELP!      Okay Oscar stuff over.  But does anyone know how I can overcome this (short of buying a modern warp driven graphics card)?
    Thanks in advance,
    RedDavePirate

    Borrowed from EIDOS web site.
    FAQ
When I try to run the game I get an error message saying "Fatal Error: Your Graphics card does not support Pixel Shader v1.1"
The most likely cause is your video card does not support Pixel Shader 1.1. As it states on the game box, you must have a video card that supports Pixel Shader 1.1 for LEGO: Star Wars to run. Unless you are running an Nvidia GeForce 3 ti, 4 ti, or FX, 6000 or an ATI Radeon 8500, or Radeon 9000 series, or X series card, this game will not run. None of the Nvidia GeForce MX, or GeForce 2/GTS/GO video cards are supported, as they lack the Pixel Shader chip on the card itself. Any ATI Radeon card not listed on the game package will not run LEGO: Star Wars. On-board Intel (82810, 82845, 82845G, 82865G) video chips are not supported, as they lack nearly all the required hardware needed to run LEGO: Star Wars.
***Please note Nvidia TNT cards and ATI Rage cards are also NOT supported***
Please Note: Customers with systems running the Intel 82915G video chip will not be able to play Lego: Star Wars. Although the 915G chipset does support Pixel Shader v2.0, it does not support Hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L). Hardware TnL is a basic DirectX 9.0 function which is not supported by any Intel video chip. As Lego: Star Wars does use Hardware T&L along with Pixel Shader, this game will not run on any Intel Graphics chip.

  • Wich Mac mini shall i choose if i want it wont lack when doing normal web browsing... and playing games such as lego star wars not that heavy games but still no lack?

Right now any should work, but to future proof it a bit I'd get the middle one with the Real Graphic card in it, & upgrade to the 2.7 CPU.

  • LEGO STAR WARS game  & powerbook G4 1.67Ghz- installation problem

I purchased the LEGO Star Wars game to use on my macs. It installs and plays on the G5 Powermac ok but won't install properly on my G4 Powerbook.
I have been in touch with Aspyr the game developer who say they have had no reports of a similar issue. My G4 powerbook is well beyond the spec required to run the game according to Aspyr themselves.
I was just wondering if there is any way of analysing what it is that is stopping the game from installing properly? I have tried setting up a 'clean' user account and installing the game in that accound in case it is some of the software I have on the powerbook which may be conflicting with the installation. Is there a way of trying to work out what the problem is so that I can get this game running?
I have tried using the force as well which seemed appropriate given the nature of the game but the force is not strong in this one!

Mobile GPUs have frequently not had the same power as their desktop counterparts. And based on:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TE185LL/A
It runs best on a G5, which says to me it is optimized for 64 bit processing. I would ask Aspyr to either rewrite the specs to say whether or not Mobility chips have been tested, and/or say if they think it should run on G4s.
Also, check to see if you have any background tasks, third party peripherals, or wireless connections which may be slowing down your machine. Check your Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts -> select your active account and check your Login items. If there are any there, delete them (don't just uncheck them) and see if it makes a difference.

  • Quicklook doesn't work with .avi files

Hello, i've got a little problem right here on my mac. The thing is that I used to have Snow Leopard as a OS and quicklook used to work great, it opened all the extensions I used to work with. The thing change when I format my HDD and installed a clean copy of Lion OS. Now quicklook works fine as it used to but not any more with .avi files. I remember that this feature was working great on my previous OS, and it's really important for me to find a solution because quicklook is an absolutely amazing feature of our Macs.
I've tryed to download plugins, restoring permissions or even trying it with a guest user, but no success.
Please help me. If you need more info about specs or something i'll be glad to give them to you.
    Thank you!!!

Also doesn't work with Grapher (.gcx) documents (an Apple format).

  • IPhone 5 doesn't work with Mac OS 10.5.8 - do I need to ugrade to 10.6 and then upgrade to Mountain Lion or can I just upgrade to Mtn Lion right away?

iPhone 5 doesn't work with Mac OS 10.5.8 - do I need to ugrade to 10.6 and then upgrade to Mountain Lion or can I just upgrade to Mtn Lion right away?

At least to 10.6.8. You must do this to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
