Leopard Drop in CPU missing Windows Drivers

Hi there,
I have a Leopard Drop-in DVD that was posted out to me after I bought my MacbookPro 17" with Tiger (in the eligible time period) a couple of years ago now.
Thing is, when I try to do the whole Windows thing, Boot Camp runs and partitions, etc. and I can install Vista, but when I put in my DVD into Windows (Vista) to install drivers, nothing happens!
Through some rudimentary research, I've discovered that the diskimage.dmg file in my bootcamp contents is missing.
How can I fix this? Anybody have any ideas? I tried to download the update - but Vista says (predictably enough) that the update requires previous software, which obviously isn't installed!

IMHO be thankful it came w Tiger. Use a partitioned FWHD and put one OS on a partition w the other OS on the Internal HD. The other partition should be rather large for Time Machine. You might consider more partitions for Bootable BUs. TM is not bootable.

Leopard not Installing Window Drivers

Hi, I recently upgraded from Tiger to Leopard. I then tried to install Windows Professional using Boot Camp. I was successful with the Windows installation. However, when I insert the Leopard DVD to install the Windows drivers nothing happened. I tried double clicking the DVD from the D drive in Windows but there was no files to install. Is there a step I am missing ? Please help. Thanks!!

Hi The Hatter, Thanks for your response. I do have boot camp in the utilities. I am at work now so I can't try this until I get home but here is another suggestion I received.
right-click the DVD drive in Window XP, and choose Show Windows Files rather than Show Mac Files. , the setup for Windows drivers will appeared.
Is it the D drive they are talking about? or do I click on or do I rigth click on the DVD itself? I will try it and repost.

Windows drivers installation on an upgraded leopard?

I bought a macbook with an upgraded software leopard ( originally Tiger ), I installed windows but i cant install drivers, when i put a Tiger system CD it doesn't read anything, I have a another Leopard original CD for an old broken macbook when I put it on it start installing but it just stuck and comes up with a blue error msg then it restart automatically.
I tried reinstalling windows it give the same problem.

Does Snow Leopard (10.6) DVD have newer Windows drivers?

Can new windows drivers be installed without updating to leopard?

I was wondering if the new windows drivers on the leopard install disc can be installed in windows without upgrading tiger on the other partition?
I want to upgrade tiger to leopard but want to wait till i have more time to complete the process, but i do want to check out the new windows drivers now.

How would you extract the drivers from the Leopard disk?
Normally, you create/install the Boot Camp assistant, which extracts the drivers.
Anyone with Leopard installed can always supply anyone else with a new drivers disk, and, I would expect in time that the Windows system itself would be capable of obtaining the drivers. After all the main problem is that manufacturers have not yet written drivers for Windows on a Mac. Once the Mac hardware becomes "standard" there should be no problem using Windows update directly to get new drivers.
This is what I am expecting to happen with my 64-bit Vista install on this box.

Windows drivers on Snow Leopard to use TV tuner stick.

While I know that there are ways to run a windows app on a mac through vmware and crossover, is there any way I can use a hardware (ENTER USB TV Tuner Stick with a 'Xceive XC2028 silicon tuner' chip) which only has windows drivers on a mac?

i found one opens source software call MythTV which supports my chip but the installation is super complex.
i've a set top box which has a tv out and a composite video out. i use the composite video out to watch on my lcd tv. and the tv out is directed to the tv tuner. this tv out is just an extra split of the tv in that my router gets, just incase someone wants both the signals.
is there any way i can make my mac read a composite signal and record it? i've usb 2.0 and firewire 800 port on my mac. that way i can just leave the set top box on and when i want the mac will just record the on going channel for the duration i mention.
please advice.

Windows Drivers Wont Install Correctly

I have been attempting to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro via Bootcamp.
I succesfully install windows, i put in the snow leopard install disc and install the drivers,
it says i have installed them succesfully, but when i restart my computer, its as if they were never installed.

Unfortunately it will probably take longer to trouble shoot then to just reinstall Windows. That would be my suggestion now. Re-installing takes about the same time as an erase-install of the Windows partition so I would suggest the latter. No need to re-format it.
It happens, Windows just won't play right sometimes.
If you have the Apple Software Updater and the Boot Camp control panel then it sounds like they were installed but Windows just isn't seeing the important ones.
Are you familiar with Windows 7? We need to know what you know to help better.
What do you get when you try to get on the internet? Does the Device Manager have any issues showing? If you open the Devices and Features control panel do you see any Apple drivers?

Where are the Windows Drivers?

When I run Bootcamp 2.0 And try to partition the drive for Vista bootcamps says..."After you have installed and set up windows, insert your Mac OS X Leopard install disc to install additional drivers and other software for windows."
So I went looking on my install discs. I cant figure out where these Windows drivers are. Anyone know?

You can also find the drivers in the boot camp download page. Depending on your flavor of Windows (32bit or 64bit), you'll download different updates for Boot Camp 2.1.

On the upper right corner of the screen you will see the Software Updates section. Click on the appropriate link to download the file you need. The files that you download are Windows executables and should only be downloaded in Windows. They can also be run directly from the website, but clicking the Run button (instead of Save) after you click the appropriate download link.

HP2015D & Airport Dual Extreme on Snow Leopard drops all the time

I have a HP2015D laserjet (driver 16.1) connected by USB to an Airport Dual Extreme (v7.4.2) running Snow Leopard 1.6.2. All drivers and software are up-to-date. This printer used to drop very occasionally on Leopard, but on Snow Leopard it drops every 30 minutes or so, if not sooner. I have to restart the printer. There are 3 MacBooks on this network. Everyone can see the printer but can't print when it drops. Every time Apple upgrades the HP printer drivers, the dropping just gets worse. In the past this has been an Airport driver issue. Any ideas or comments as there is no sense in replacing the printer if it is Airport.

Is it likely that my Airport base station (which is probably over 5 years old) has just come to the end of its life cycle? I'd happily buy the new Extreme base station, but I'm concerned that I'll come across the same problems.
Although there is really no way to predict if new equipment will completely resolve the problem, there is a good chance that it will. Electronics, especially those that are meant to operate 24/7, typically have a service "life" of 3-5 years. Of course, there are cases that would support less or more time than that.
If you have already exhausted things like looking/resolving for Wi-Fi interference, resetting the device, etc, you may only have the option available: replace your equipment.
As far as recommendations, my suggestion is to first jot down all of your networking requirements. Examples would be: ADSL/DSL/cable/Satellite-capable? Wired, wireless, or both clients? NAT? DHCP? File/Print server? Capable of being extended? 802.11 radio modes supported? Encryption standards supported? Does it support UPnP? VoIP? etc.
Once you come up with a comprehensive list, then check out with manufacturers provide products that meet most (or all) of them. This should help you decide.

Bootcamp 3.2 and Windows Drivers 2.2

i'm a little bit confused: There's Bootcamp 3.2 and there are seperate Windows Drivers (current Version 2.2).
So, does the Bootcamp 3.2 update include a Windows drivers that are included in the 2.2 version of the drivers download?
Since i updated to Bootcamp 3.2 i have some issues like: Display drivers issue an error (NVIDIA display panel extension can't be loaded), also NVIDIA desktop manager can't be opened (i worked fine when running Bootcamp 3.0).
I thought about running the Drivers 2.2 update, too but since it's nearly 1 year older than the Bootcamp 3.2 update i didn't do so.
Just in case: i'm on a MacBook Pro running Windows XP (NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M, Driver version 6.14.11.8861).

Hi,
it's easy to get confused.
The 2.x Driver packages were introduced with OSX 10.5 Leopard.
The 3.x Driver packages were introduced with OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard.
When you have the 3.2 Drivers installed you are up to date with the Drivers Apple provides.
Nonetheless, especially the Graphics Drivers "outdate" the moment they are released.
There might be a newer / better driver for the 9400 M avaiable at Nvidias website.
As always with driver updates: have/make a backup before or at least a 'System Restore Point'. Just in case.

HP 2000-2d19WM Missing Many Drivers!

Hello all:
I have an HP 2000-2d19WM Notebook PC running W7 Professional, and it is missing many drivers! These drivers include:
- Ethernet Controller
- Network Controller
- PCI Device
- SM Bus Controller
I went to the driver section of this website for this specific notebook and it didn't support any of the drivers due to the fact that I am running W7. Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

I can give a few suggestions on Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom is a separate forum and you should ask Lr questions there.
First close Photoshop.
Then start Photoshop by double-clicking on it's icon and very quickly after that, hold down the ctrl-alt-shift keys until you see the reset dialog. answer "Yes" to delete settings, and let Photoshop continue to load.
It's tricky to do and may take a few tries, but at least it should reset Photoshop CC 2014 to defaults.

Downloads dragged and dropped from Firefox download window into Outlook e-mail show as file location text.

I have a user who normally can drag files from Firefox's Download window into an e-mail in Outlook and it creates an attachment of that file in the e-mail. However, lately, the dragged .pdf or whatever file only shows up as a text file location like:
\\file:%Downloads%\randomfile.pdf
It's not a link either, it's just the text.
I've tried doing a repair of Outlook.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 19.
I've tested dragging items from the desktop to the e-mail and it works fine.
I can't drag and drop from the Downloads window to the desktop.
I just wanted to add this user is using Windows XP Pro.

I can confirm that this is an issue with the newest release of Firefox. I just upgraded my Firefox, which was previously 18.02 to 19.0 and now I'm getting the same error. It's a bug.

Oh my lord, where can I get windows drivers for Macbook Pro?....

Does Apple really not have any place that I can download Windows drivers for the hardware in my August 2010 Macbook Pro?!? I am trying to use windows through bootcamp, and I am having tons of trouble. I know there are supposed to be drivers in the OSX DVD that came with my computer, but that is all the way back in Maryland and I go to school in Tennessee.
<rant> Sorry if I seem irritated. I just got over a total hard drive crash in this computer that isn't even 2 years old. I have drives that are almost 10 years old in my PC desktop.. The drive that came stock with my Macbook pro was a total piece of crap in comparison to the cheapest notebook drives at Best Buy. Sorry for the rant. This is what happens everytime I have tried. I actually have a booting Windows 7 partition on here already but it is barely running on the stock/generic windows drivers that are just there to get the OS through install.
I have an OSX 10.6 disk, but it is 10.6.0, and I wasn't even able to make that boot into the Mac installer when I installed OSX on the new hard drive. I had to run my Macbook as a Firewire disk plugged into a Mac Pro and install it from there and update to 10.6.8. I think this was because the 10.6.0 install disk doesn't have drivers for my 2010 revision of the Macbook Pro. I doubt that the 10.6.0 disk has the right Windows drivers if it doesn't even have the right Mac drivers.

How do I get to see 2 CPU meter windows?

In this book I have (Logic Pro 7: Tips & Tricks) it says you can view 2 CPU metre windows but I can only view the one when I go to and open- Menu > Audio > System Performance.

when I bought my G5 Dual (new) only one CPU was running
and Apple had to to replace it with a by an new one...
If this is the case - you should bring your G5 to an Apple Care Center.
