Leopard installation stops midway through

Everything was going fine with my installation until it got to where it said it had about 10 minutes remaining. The bar is almost all the way across. The installation just stopped and for well over an hour, it hasn't moved at all. I don't know what to do.

If you made a bootable backup/clone of your previously good OS installation, then you can quit the installation process, restart into the backup/clone, erase the hosed/stalled installation, and redo it. BTW, when upgrading, it's always helpful to display the install log (showing everything) so you can get an idea of what's going on. If you don't have a bootable backup/clone, you can quit the process and retry it using the Archive & Install option. Report back with the details.

  • Song stops midway through

Hi! Certain songs while being played on itunes stop halfway through and skip to the next song. the file is already an mp3 file and was not purchased through the itunes store. also, other songs from the same album are fine. any ideas?

SAME HERE!! iMac 800 MHz PPC G4 w/768MB RAM, OSX 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.0.2. Some tunes (not all) we've purchased and downloaded play partway through then stop and we go on to the next one in the list. Erg!
Here's what I've checked so far:
    - start time
    - stop time
    - part of a gapless album
I've enabled and disabled all of those options and tried playback of the same song over and over with each variation. (I'm SO tired of that one song now!) No difference. In fact, exact same symptom, right down to the same measure and beat in the song each time it stops. What else is there to try?

  • 5250 Stops midway through print

This happens frequently but not always.  A page will start to print, then the printer stops printing. If I leave the printer unattended, printing will resume after sevral minutes but only a few characters per page.  The printed material looks like ASCII or something and the few character per page printing will continue until all of the paper in the printer is spent.
A similar routine happens sometimes with printable CDs but the printing just stops midway, so I have a half-printed CD and need to burn another one.  The CD printing problem appears to be less likely if I close down all programs and reboot the computer, starting with a clean slate.
I don't believe that it is a memory or CPU problem since I have 3 GB RAM and an Intel 6600 chip.
The HP scan and detect software says that my software and drivers are up-to-date.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It sounds like you have a communication issue between the computer and printer.  I suspect communication is being lost and the printer starts printing the PCL once it retries after a timeout.
Check your cables and reseat the connections.

  • Purchased itunes movie stops midway through operating

I purchased a movie from the itunes store and when i play it, it will stop half way through the movie. It says its playing, not paused. I have tried to start it from different points but if i start it in the later half it forces me back to the middle and won't play any further. i have restarted and it still does not work. I bought the **** thing for $14 and can't watch it or return it. Any help?

I can transfer and see rented movies when I sync my iphone, but purchased movies don't give the option of transferring at all, even efter sync-ing multiple times. It is in the itunes library, and it's viewable through my computer, but right-clicking on the purchased movie or trying to drag and drop onto the iphone is futile =/. There doesn't appear to be anything in the user guide that mentions purchased movies specifically, but rented movies are mentioned multiple times. Do I have to assume that purchased movies are not transferrable to the iphone? If so, that would pretty much stink.

  • LiveCycle ES2 installation stops halfway through the process

    Hi there!
I've installed LC ES2 before on my machine and normally without any problems.
Now I had to uninstall and install it again. So that I could do it from start, using turnkey, I even removed some items from Windows registry. This has worked before, more than once.
Now this is not working anymore. It always stops at the same place, roughly at 60% of the installation process. I wonder why. Some problem with Java?
Please, has anyone had this kind of problem before?
Thank you a lot for any hints!
    Marcos

I am not sure why you would have to delete reg entries from windows, but i have a couple of questions:
Was this failure duing the install process, i.e. at any point during the install? If not, was it during the LCM process?
If it was during the LCM process, at what point did it halt: was it during DB initialization, or component deployment? (I figure the EARs configured ok, since you mentioned at about "60%".
If you could share the server.log exception and the LCM log exception, that would help.
    Thanks,

  • Premiere elements 8 - Audio stops midway through timeline playback

Hi Everyone... I am editing together a series of mp4 shots with a separate mp3 audio soundtrack.  The audio from the vid shots is turned down or off and the music is on the soundtrack channel....
I am on an HP Notebook w/4 gb ram, windows-7 64bit, 320 gb hd,  2.64 ghz processor... I dont have many problems with the video, its slow occasionally, but generally has worked fine.
The audio was working fine for a while, then one time when i rendered down a rough version, i noticed the audio stopped mid way through the playback.  Before that, it was working fine.  So i went back into the editor and sure enough the audio was stopping mid way through there too.  I also noticed that the sound from the video shots continued to work fine, only the music would cut off.  since then, nothing i do restores the audio.
I've viewed the audio wave form, everything is there, it looks fine.
Any thoughts?  And thank you so much for any assistance!

Also note that the program must conform and create peak files for certain media files when you first add them to your project. (You can see the progress in the lower right corner of the interface.) If you interrupt this process and try to work with these files before they're completely conformed, they may only be partially conformed and you get only half the audio.
Try clearing the audio from your Project panel (from the right-click option) and then re-adding it to your project -- making sure to allow the program to completely conform the file before you start working with it.

  • 8gb touch stops midway through songs! halp!

Hey everyone. This problem started after I got a itunes gift card. The downloads wouldn't work on my computer, so i re-logged in as an administrator (i'm running vista premium) Well, i start downloading and Bam, they're done, and the songs play fine on my computer. Also, video works fine. So i go to sync this with my ipod, and i started listening. Some songs, at random intervals the song will cut out. just dead. If i let it go, it will just advance to the enxt song automatically, but it still says there is time left. If i take the time bar and move it, then the song will continue. I've triend re-syncing it, deleting data, and even completely re registering the ipod in itunes as a different name and wiping it. None of this works. So, internet, help me. The songs work fine on my computer but not on the ipod. Also, im using a stock ipod Usb 2.0 connector. I've tried plugging it into different usb ports throughout the computer with no avail.
    Help!

  • ITunes 11 is stopping midway through tracks.

I upgraded from Vista(x32) to Win7(x64) finally.  My music is all ripped from CD and stored on a separate hdd (D:).  I was running iTunes 11 on Vista prior to this.
To keep all ratings, playcounts, podcasts, etc., I copied over the iTunes database files.  This worked great, all my music and subscribtions came through.
The problem is now when I go to play music, iTunes randomly stops producing audio.  The play/pause button still indicates that it's playing, but the time indicator is not incrementing.  I can't hit pause/play to get it going again.  I'm actually not sure how audio starts coming out.  I usually have to change albums and come back.  Then it will start up again.
The stop point is not the same every time, i.e. 30s into the track.  And it's different tracks that it stops on each time.  Some albums will play all the way through, some not.
    Possible problems:
Bad tracks.  Probably not, as it's not consistently failing on the same track at the same point.
HDD sleeping.  Is this an issue?  Separate disk, but at 20min sleep, iTunes won't buffer that much audio before going back for more.  Plus this will occur within a minute of starting.  Not totally ruling this out, but not seeing it either.  Vista was set to sleep the disks, and if it was asleep, when iTunes started playing the audio would pause while the disk spun up.  And then play again.
HDD about to die?  Possible, that's what I'm looking into now, but the disk has been working flawlessly until this upgrade.
My only other thought is to move the audio to the same disk as Win7 is on, but this was never a problem with Vista.
Anybody else run into this problem?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Any ideas?
I did a complete CLEAN reinstall of ML last night and I've still got the same issue which would lead me to believe it's something with my tracks, except that they've always displayed fine in previous version of iTunes.

  • Audio stops midway through clip

    I have a Canon HF100 HD videocamera.
I use a cardreader to transfer footage from the camera to a folder on my computer.
I started a new project, used the AVCHD full HD setting, imported 9 files into the project.
On one of the clips that's 11 minutes long  the audio stops after 1 min 28 secs.
That same clip plays fine with Windows media player. The other 8 clips also play fine with Premiere from the project timeline, from the previewer  and with media player.
Any thoughts about what might be happening here would be appreciated.

    You are most welcome.
With muxed Audio & Video, I use Adobe Audition to rip the Audio, then do any editing required, and Save_As a PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit, for Import into my NLE (Non Linear Editor).
Especially with AC3 (a form of MPEG Audio), which has already been compressed once, I use PCM/WAV to keep from compressing again. That is also the best Audio file to Import into Premiere.
Note: the free audio-editor, Audacity, can usually rip the Audio Stream and Save_As WAV (Uncompressed), which is the same thing, just with a slightly different name. For anyone new to Audacity, our tireless MOD, Steve Grisetti, has written, or co-written, several good tutorials, which are available on Muvipix.com. I cannot remember if those are free tutorials, or if they are free only to Muvipix subscribers, but I recommend those highly.
    Good luck,

  • Iphone stops midway through attempted restore

i'm having problems restoring my iphone. i originally downloaded the new iphone software and attempted to install it, but itunes froze. after i restarted the computer, itunes recognized the iphone as being in "recovery" mode, and said i had to restore it. itunes now says "restoring iphone software...", but the progress bar has stopped at at 45%.
i've tried removing itunes from the computer and reinstalling it, and i've also tried restoring it on another computer. any other suggestions?
    thank you!

I had the same problem and took my phone into the apple store. They restored my phone, and then told me when I went home and plugged it into my computer to set it up as a new phone, not to do it as a backup. When you set it up as a new phone all of your old information will still appear an you will be able to upload it into the phone. I don't know if you were even able to get to this point, but if you were, that should do the trick.

  • Syncing stops midway through process

New iPod Nano, 5th Gen for Christmas, latest version of iTunes...
I'll start to sync and everything will seem to go fine... "syncing song 1 of 320" or something to that extent, but (long) before it finishes all of the songs. If I hit the sync button again, it'll start up again- usually continuing where it left off, but will once again stop early.
For me to bring over my full music collection, I have to sit there for an hour each time constantly watching and hitting the synch button repeatedly each time it stops.
    Ideas?

    Is this Mac or Windows?

  • Some of my songs on Itunes and therefore my Ipod have started to stop midway through playing?

    Hi everyone
I wondered if you all may be able to help!
My Itunes has started to be very picky about which songs it wants to play all the way though....these are both purchased songs and songs I have added from CD's. It seemed to have started when I burnt some songs to disc for my husband about 4 weeks ago and he noticed it on the discs and we just assumed that they hadn't burnt properly...but then I noticed the same thing was happening on my Ipod and then on checking, on my Itunes too!?
Please can anyone help me in getting this fixed, its so frustrating and I'm not sure whats causing it??
I have just downloaded the most up to date Itunes so see if that may in someway fix it but is hasn't and I have always ensured I am running on the most up to date Itunes software.
Thanks for any help in advance!

  • IWeb Stops Midway Through Blog Posts

I've tried using iWeb 09 a couple of times. I have a large number of blog posts, and it gives an error message that it is unable to create a page when it reaches this page: http://web.mac.com/tehart/JurassicRants/Blog/Entries/2007/9/15_A_ForbiddenPleasure.html. It then quits publishing.
The site publishes fine with iWeb 08, but I've been unable to use '09 for anything.

  • HT1725 I've purchased an entire album but some of the songs stop playing midway through. How can I rectify this?

I've purchased an entire album but some of the songs stop playing midway through. How can I rectify this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
