I'm ready to send Leopard back and call it a day. I've done everything and I can't figure it out.

  • Itunes wont install properly? please help!!

    hello,
iTunes is being very difficult atm! reinstalled the iTunes software and the error message comes 'iTunes wont install properly...'.
I have run a diagnostics test and hoping someone can point in the direction of how to fix it! cannot even connect my iphone device to it.
    please help!
    thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes wont install properly

I've never had this problem before. But ever since trying to update to the version of itunes right before this newest release, i cant use the in-program update, or manually install without getting a message along the lines of "iTunes was not installed properly, you won't be able to import or burn cd's"
I tried uninstalling, and even nuking registry entries. I've restarted my computer, deleted any sort of folder or file that was related to iTunes.
What exactly am I doing wrong? I spent over $200 on my ipod, and at least $400 on iTunes music and gifts for my friends. I'm going to be rather ****** if i cant at least burn a cd with music i purchased.

There's a thread here with people with the same problem. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1118109

  • Leopard wont install at all!

I had no problem with my PowerBook, but my iMc just wont have it. "OSX cannot be installed on this computer". is the error message. Software up to date, 15 Gs spare space and nothing non-apple conected. Help! Any ideas.
    Colin

    Your previous post states:
+"I partitioned the disk( GUID partition table) and installed leopard."+
Therein lies your problem. You cannot install 10.5 on a GUID partition on a PPC Mac (or, at least you can't boot from one). You are using the wrong partition type. You need to use an "APM" partition on a PPC Mac and a GUID partition on an Intel Mac.

  • Leopard wont install

Hi, I have a friend who works in retail and he got me a copy of Leopard last night. So I tried to install it last night, and everything was working fine up until after the installation process was complete and it asked me to restart. So I did and my computer never booted up, it just stayed on the grey screen with the apple logo for 30 minutes. I tried restarting over and over again but nothing changed.
I have a G5 iMac, with about 200 GBs of free space, 2GB of RAM, and had 10.4.10 installed. Why wont my computer boot up? Thanks in advance.

    I'm strongly suspicious about this.
First off Leopard is not his to "give" without payment (if that's what he did). It is licensed software.
Secondly, if it doesn't look anything like http://www.apple.com/macosx/ logo on the disk, I suspect it is an illegal rip off some source of an older copy, and your friend basically installed what is a beta version of the software, and why it won't boot.
Have your friend fix the situation, since he was the one who wanted to install it before its time. It is not available for release until tomorrow.
Something doesn't sound right. Visit http://www.apple.com/legal/ if you suspect any foul play.

  • Hp coolsense wont install properly

Can someone help me. My coolsense started not working properly when i open it up saying that my laptop doesn't support it when in fact i had been using it for months already. i read in a topic here that it's in support assistant but it doesn't work there as well. i tried reinstalling support assistant but now coolsense wasn't included in it. i tried installing hp coolsense directly but it doesn't work as well. Please i need a solution for this. just cleaned my laptop and i want to keep my fans working efficiently since i do gaming a lot

    Hi,
Which installation program are you refering to?
If it was the stand-alone CoolSense utility, it may well be that your notebook doesn't support this and only supports version 1 which is implemented from HPSA - only the later version of CoolSense can use the stand-alone utility.
If you get the windows installation error message again, let me know what it says.

  • Leopard wont install - Software version issue

So a family asked to install Leopard onto a Macbook. It was running the highest software on Tiger possible. I think it was 10.4.4. Not to sure on that. I tried to install, it stopped said it didnt find high enough software level and that it required 10.4.*
I checked the computer it was exactly on the level it said required for the installation.
    What can I do?

The DropIn Leopard disc will only work on Macs that shipped new October 8 to October 26, 2007.
The gray Leopard disc will only work with the Mac that it shipped with.
To upgrade your Mac to Leopard, you'll need Leopard retail which looks like * and does not say Upgrade, DropIn, or OEM.
Any further questions, which do not help Mxf solve their problems should be posted as a new topic at the link below:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1219&start=0
You'll get a wider audience and won't confuse Mxf with solutions that don't apply to them.

  • Labview app developed in Win XP wont install properly on win 7

I developed an app which had hard coded path filenames and built the installer to install them in those specific directories.  I.E. : c:\Program Files\app\myfile.txt.  I ran this installer on a win 7 machine and it put the files in the directory C:\Program Files x86\app\myfile.txt.  As a result, the program does not work because it is looking for the file in the original directory where it isnt.
How do I get around this problem and allow my app to be installed in either Win XP or Win 7?

That second example you linked to has nothing to do with project build or installation directories. It is an example that is related to this: Why Does My Executable Not Work When Using the Current VI's Path Constant?
    id wrote:
Since this new Get System Dir.VI has many more selctions, have these features been incorporated into the project build tool?
What exactly are you asking here? The building of the installer uses symbolic names for where the files should be placed (ie., "Program Files" to indicate whatever folder is specified as the installation directory). Thus, a user can select to install the application onto some other drive, such as "E:\YourApp", instead of "C:\Program Files" (or "C:\program Files (x86)" on a 64-bit system). There should be no reason for you to set these paths in the installer specification. This simply moves the path hard-coding from the code to the installer. How is this any better?
Your code should use the Get System Directory VI to get the paths programmatically.
You should also keep in mind that Windows 7 has further restrictions on the "C:\Program Files" and other folders (such as the root drive). This has come up before, so you can search for these posts. If you want to save something programmatically, under XP it was not an issue, but under Windows 7 it will be an issue if your target is the "C:\Program Files" directory, if that's where the application was installed. Microsoft created the "C:\Program Data" folder for post-installation, run-time saving of files by the application.

  • FlashPlayer 10 Still wont install properly

I don't know how to act calm about this, now a really great
deal of our users/customers have been visitng sites that require
FlashPlayer 10+, now theyre just lost, with no Flash at all.
We need to get Adobe to FIX THAT ASAP!
    What can be done?

    Hi squadjot-
I have never seen a website that requires Flashplayer 10+.
There's still a few there that haven't been updated to
accept/recognize FP10 and default to "You must have the latest
version of Flashplayer" and the link takes you to FP10. Which, of
    course, doesn't help at all.....
Most sites that have updated to work with FP10 will still
work OK with the latest v9.
    But: there's always some exceptions/weirdness.
    Can you provide a link?
    Thanks.

  • Any one with experience on a dual G5 powermac?

My two month old macbook needed a reformat! Anyone with a dual G5 powermac to report on? Will I need to do a clean install again!

    orthobiker wrote:
I recommend a clean install. I did an upgrade and it crashed my system. Had to do a clean install of tiger. I am sticking with tiger until a few more updates on leopard come out.
The problem with the updates is that you have to get Leopard running in order to install them.
Apple should immediately release a test program that runs on TIger and evaluates the machine and makes recommendations prior to a Leopard install. Microsoft did this a few times, releasing a CD that tested the system prior to a major upgrade.
The Apple test software could even "pre-fix" any potential install problems by installing the Leopard patches so that they would run during an install.
That's what I would do. Then, I am only a programmer, so what do I know?
