Less than 1 day old battery -- 99%?

I had my battery replaced yesterday on my MBP 13", running 10.6.8, from mid 2010. I charged it to 100% last night and worked with the AC adapter for a while. iStat Pro said my health was at 100%. I then turned off my computer for the night, and this morning, with 0 cycle count still, my battery health is at only 99%. Today I'm doing a calibration of my battery, but I'm concerned that it's already gone down 1%. I know 1% isn't a big deal, but shouldn't it have stayed at 100 for more than a few hours, which is really all it's gotten since I had it turned off?
Here's the current stats of the battery

are you getting over 5 hours of use from it?
if so, try not to worry about it so much...........
like i said before, my battery keeps on changing state.....now i'm at 5507.  last night i was at 5601.
if however, you feel that it's not performing as it should, then take it to Apple and have them test it for you before your warranty expires.....
good luck..

  • Can I purchase apple care for time capsule that is less than 90 days old?

can I purchase apple care for time capsule that is less than 90 days old?

    Sure enough...
The 90 day period basically applies for telephone support if you don't have Apple Care (a three year apple hardware/apple software coverage that would be similar to an extended warranty for your TV) with the outstanding feature that you have unlimited telephone support for the entire 3 year period beginning when your Mac was first purchased.
Your situation is similar to mine: I bought my MBP this august and just (literally) bought the 2TB TC. So the three year period began when the Mac was purchased and will run out when the MBP reaches it's exact 3 year anniversary. I went 4 or 5 levels above the sales staff and reached an individual at Apple whose exact title is: Sales & Service Management Representive. The first question I asked was is my TC covered under Apple Care and for how long, etc.: as the TC (as well as the MBP) have only a limited1 year warranty without Apple Care.
If you've been following the posts on this exact site and several others, you'll see many upon many TC's experience a premature death around 18-24 months. So IMHO I think Apple Care is a good deal: coverage for your Mac as well as the TC (double coverage).
On a lighter note something like double your pleasure double your fun: Xerox your paycheck!
    cheers...

I just dropped my phone in water.  It is less than 90 days old.  I have AT&T...does anyone know if they will cover it or does apple care cover it?  Are you just out of luck with an iPhone if you have water damage?

Of course they do not cover it.

If bought at an Apple store, yes. Make sure to bring the receipt and all packaging back, and they'll set you up for an exchange.

  • Frozen ipod less than 30 days old.

my 30 gig ipod is frozen of the delete session screen and everthing is up to date any ideas of how to fix this problem??
    thanks

Could be a weak or intermittent wifi connection.  Try turning my photo stream off on your new phone, then back on.  It should be able to download my photo stream photos from the last 30 days as long as it is connected to wifi, has the camera app closed and has at least 20% battery life remaining.

  • Brand new Zen Neeon[literally less than a day old] extremely sl

    Hey there,
Firstly, Merry Christmas to you all(although by the time you read this it will be a tad late...) and a happy and peaceful New Year.
    Down to business.
I was given a Zen Neeon (6GB) as a gift today. I installed the software correctly, charged the player through my PC using the provided USB cable, and copied a collection of music from my hard dri've to the player.
I fired it up, thrilled that I finally had an mp3 player that didn't act temperamentally by switching off as soon as the battery was touched, switch from 'play all' to 'shuffle' at random times, and moved from one track to the next ever-so-slowly and so on.
At first, things were great. Sound is quite good, menu response is swift, and the settings are good. However, as soon as I attempt to PLAY a track, it's like something inside the player just...doesn't. It takes roughly ten to fifteen seconds for it to respond to me pressing 'play', and going from one track to the next takes as much time, if not more. I mean, this is silly. It's a brand new product, charged and ready, it shouldn't take 5 seconds just to move from track 7 to track 8, surely? During this time it doesn't respond to any other buttons, either. The display will sit on the second last second of the track duration for this time, and then suddenly switch to the next track.
My question is this: is this a common problem with the Neeon? Has anyone else experienced this? And most importantly, is it actually a problem? Or is the Neeon just this slow and non-responsi've by nature?
    Thanks, guys.

Hey i have the same zen neeon 6gb, and im having the same problem - especially when the play is set on shuffle. did you find anything out about what is causing the problem?

  • Bad iPhone 4 battery (less than 90 days new!!!)

My iPhone 4 is less than 90 days old and does not hold a charge overnight!  Obviously the battery is bad...who offers the warranty replacement, Verizon (who sent the phone) or Apple (the phone manufacturer)???  Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to reply 'Ann154'!  I appreciate the fact that you took the time to provide feedback...
FYI...I contacted Verizon (before receiving your comment) and they were EXTREMELY helpful in evaluating my situation.  They apologized for the "faulty" phone and have shipped a replacement free of costs!!
    Cheers!

  • Less than a year old MBP 13 Battery is now less than 89%

My MBP is less than a year old. I check the battery and surprisingly, it has 534 cycles and only 89% Health left. I use iStat Pro. The battery is quite disappointing at only less than a year of use. Can I get it replaced under Applecare?

If you've cycled your battery 534 times in less than a year, you're flogging it within an inch of its life. Completely discharging and recharging your battery 1-1/2 times a day is as hard on it as anything you could possibly do to it, short of storing it in a closed parked car in the summer sun.
And still, after 53.4% of your rated 1000 cycles are gone, you've only lost 55% of the 1/5 of the battery's original Full charge Capacity that Apple expects you will lose in 1000 cycles. That is to say, despite your extremely hard usage of your battery, it's almost exactly on pace to meet Apple's stated expectation that it will still have 80% of its original Full Charge Capacity after 1000 cycles. Your disappointment is completely unwarranted, and you certainly have no reason to ask for or expect a replacement battery.
If you want it to last as long as possible, stop deep-discharging it every time you use it, and plug in your AC adapter whenever you can.

Take it to Apple Store. You are covered under your 1 year warranty.

  • E50 battery drains in less than a day

My E50 has started draining the battery in less than a day. IN fact, it lasts roughly 10 hours and that is assuming nobody actually calls me.
    I have:
    - bluetooth off
    - screen off almost all the time
    - autlock installed to lock the device down
    - nothing running except the "standby" page
I do use Exchange Activesync, and that does suck a lot of power - but even so 10 hours is ridiculous, not too long ago it lasted easily a few days even with some syncing during the day.
    Any ideas? Battery going bad?

Is your GPRS connection constantly activated? And are you running in UMTS (Or 3G mode) or GSM as a wonky 3G signal that forces the phone to jump between UMTS and GSM can really kill your battery. If you have moved your geographical area lately it might be that you have moved into an area where there is a poor UMTS signal that is causing this.
Try putting it in GSM mode for a day and see what happens.
If nothing try uninstalling your applications and formatting your phone to see if a runaway application is causing it (Back up your data first).
Failing that, get a new battery (Or claim one under the warranty).

  • My MacBookPro is less than 3 months old and for the last few days, it has been  itslow to load anything, especially web pages.  I get the rainbow swirl when loading or reloading.  I guess I am spoiled.  Up until now it was lightening fast!

My MacBookPro is less than 3 months old and, for the last few days, it has been loading so slowly, mainly with webpages.  I have gotten the swirling rainbow "thinking" icon more in the last days than I have since I bought it.  I know I'm spoiled and expect it to be faster than lightening (which it has been) but I am worried that I may have been compromised in some way, or, is there anything I can do as administrator to clear out some "junk"?

Back up your documents and everything else important to you, not that there is any reason to believe your hard disk may be failing, but the symptoms you describe may presage an impending disk failure, and you should have backups anyway.
Given that your MacBook Pro is so new, you should certainly contact AppleCare and take advantage of the free telephone support included in its purchase price.
