I'm wondering if anyone is running 7.2 on a intel Mac yet? I would love to hear how the intel chip performs w/ Logic compared to the G5.
Also I think it would be a great idea if someone w/ the know how and capability could post a Logic prodject song file loaded to the teeth and everyone could use it as a base to test performance..... like comparing a G5 dual2.0 to a iMac intel dual 2.0........

I suggest the following settings:
Sample buffer size: 128
Universal Track Mode ON
A 44.1 kHz, 24 bit stereo track played with the default setting of Space Designer as the only insert
Do not use the Autoload, but a clean song (alt + New Song)
Driver: Internal audio (various drivers may cause different CPU load)
Method: Add one track at a time until an overload message appears (just copy the samee region one track downwards, and insert the same plugin without chosing any presets)
In case it matters:
Max number of audio tracks: 64
64 busses OFF
Larger Disk Buffer ON
Software monitoring OFF
Process buffer range: Medium
Rewire behavior: Playback mode
Only one window open (the arrange window)
No other applications open
If everybody are using these settings, all that needs to be reported is computer model, RAM and the maximum achieved tracks one gets without an overload message.
Test results could be posted from people who don't have an Intel Mac yet as well.

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software, play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

In Dreamweaver CS3, can I save to Test AND Production FTP Servers when I press save the document?

Hi, and thank you for reading this.
I've setup a production and test FTP servers in Dreamweaver CS3. It is either saves to production or test server when I click COMMAND+S (CONTROL on PC), but I'd like teh file to be saved on both simultaneously. Persssing Sync the Servers won't work since the servers are not mine and they a bit different, teh files are not the same. I just would like to be able to save 1 file at a time in both production and server with one click.
I've been searching the Interenet but could not find anything other than basic FTP setup. Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks!

Hi John, first of all thank you for replying!
The reason why I would like to have Dreamweaver to save to both servers Test and the Production at the same time is because it would save me a lot of time keeping both servers more or less in sync. I have to keep both Test and Production servers syncronized, but only wihtin a specific content. While I test my design I do use Test server, but then the hassle begins when I am asked to make changes to the content.
For example, I have a content page called books.html. I first built it on a Test server. Then switched to the tab called Remote, connect to the Remote Server, and save it. Very simple.
However, then I need to create 10 more pages, lets call them books1.html, books2.html, and so on. Again sync them with the Remote server.
All is great, but then my boss comes and say, hey there is a mistake on these files: books3, books4, books7, and books8. Please change the text content on those. So, I know the pages are working fine, I just need to update the text on both Test and Remote servers.
So at this point I have to open these 4 files, change the text, then SAVE ALL to Test server. Then, I switch to Remote tab, go back to files press any key and 'Delete' keys so that Dreamweaver would see the change in file so that it would be able to save it. Then again 'SAVE ALL' to the Remote server.
This is happening very OFTEN. It would save me so much time and brain power remembering which files I should sync if I am in a hurry and jump from one project to another, losing track of small changes in files when there are a lot of .html files.
CMS is only in development now so I have to work with what I got. As to regard to backups, I use Time Machine so I am set with that. Plus I use MAMP. So basically I first use MAMP for testing, then upload changes to the Test server with all the BIG databases, and only then to Remote (production) with real Database. However, this is only when I develop new pages, very often I just need to modify what's already has been created. So that's why a feature like Save to BOTH servers (Test and Remote) would make a big difference to me.

Split Data File and Compare Events

I'm pretty new to DiAdem and the community so I apologize if this has been answered.
The data file I am working with is a vehicle field test and I would like to compare events throughout a single data file events highlighted by the flagged section of the attached picture. I figured out how to flag and copy the data but I am wondering if there is an easier way to make the data line up without iteratively calculating it? I'd like to do this without a script to be able to investigate these events before an analysis script is finalized. Ideally I would like to select a second X-axis and slide it so the copied data lines up with the original.

Waveform data contains x-part and the y-part of a curve in one channel. The other way of storing data is having the x-data and y-data in separate channels. Based on your description, I think you have two channels of data, correct? When copying the data using the flags, there should be a copy of the x-data and a copy of the y-data. From the picture, it looks like the y-data is being plotted against the original x-data and not against the copied x-data. To plot the copied x-data and the copied y-data&colon;
Select the x-data copy
Hold down the control (Ctrl) key
Select the y-data copy. This will pair the copy together.
Release the Ctrl key.
Then you can drag and drop the seletced pair of copied data onto the View pane, as I did in my image above. You should not have to perform analysis to shift the data over time if you use this method.

Comparing a single int to more than one int value?

Hi is there a way to compare a single int value amongst several ints in one go?
i know i could do if statements that can compare each int one by one but i was wondering if there is an easier way? like comparing all values amognst eachother
somthing like
int i;
int a,b,c,d,e,f,,g;
//ints a-g assigned some random numbers
if(i == a,b,c,d,e,f,g)
 //do somthing here

i found out a way. i tried this way by using nested for loops and an if statement that compares every single value amongst eachother

Mapping Design - SOAP body content needs to be different between test and production

Hello,
We are integrating with a 3rd party SOAP receiver who uses the same web service URLS for test and production.
So to differentiate they exposed 2 web services which do the same thing but have different root and payload node names...along with account details.
For example, for production our SOAP XML must follow pattern like:

<appRequest>
<userID>produser</userID><password>prodpwd</password>
<appPayload>
<?xml>
blah blah this XML is the same between test and production
</xml>
</appPayload>
etc
But for their testing we must use:
<Envelope>
<Body>
<appRequestTest>
<userID>testuser</userID><password>testpwd</password>
<appPayloadTest>
<?xml>
blah blah this XML is the same between test and production
</xml>
</appPayload>
etc
So I'm trying to think of a good way to handle this difference in one set of mappings that we can use in our 3 PI platforms Dev / Test / Prod
Since these differences are in the SOAP Body does it need handled in mapping or is there a way to handle it in the Adapter Config which is naturally different between our environments (mapping we like to keep the same).
What is a smart way to handle this scenario?

I second Artem when he states that this is a bad design decission from the caller's side.
However this is not gonna help you in the current situation, right?
The problem you are facing is that by poor design the message does not have a root node which you may use to handle occurences. Let me explain further
You would be good if prod message looked like so

1. activate "do not use SOAP envelope" on sender SOAP channel and then designing the data types like above
2. Use HTTP instead of SOAP adapter and designing data types like above

Install BI Content on Test and Transport

Hi,
how do you make sure that something that works on your testsystem will also work on the
production system? For example if I install some objects from BI Content, and everything works fine on the test system, and now I transport these few installed objects on production system how do I know if everything else was transported before?
I mean I can compare both systems, but then I have to check each object on test and production system
to know if everything was transported before...Am I wrong?

Please enable guest logins and log in as Guest. Launch Safari and test. Same problem?

The keyboard became unresponsive, the mouse pad unresponsive, and I was only able to stop it by hitting the power button, of which I don't know how to cancel the shutdown without use of the mouse & ended up holding power button to shut it off.
Anybody experience this?

Serialization, unit tests, and handling object changes

Hi;
I have a ton of unit tests where I create an object, check it very carefully to make sure it is correct, then write it to disk (serialize it).
The for my unit tests I create the same object (these objects are very complex) and then read in the serialized object and compare them field by field.
My problem is if I change the object in any way, the old serialized copy is now invalid. Is there any way I can get it to read the old serialized data into the new version of the object without writing code to read/write each field?

I'm aware of the serialVersionUID attr. I was hoping there was another serialization mechanism that was forgiving of a mis-match between the object and the serialized data.
In the .NET world you can serialize to xml and it does the best it can if there is a mis-match. But on the downside, for serialization to/from xml, it's only public properties.
Does java have anything like this?

this is the scenario...i have an internal table in which one field is a character...and the records in the internal table field has names in it..and i have to print in form in the way that first letter is capital and rest is small hear is am example.....

Where can I find and compare carrier coverage at the Apple Store?

I was in my local Apple store looking at the new iPhones. I wanted to compare coverages between carriers in order to make the decision on what to buy. Although they had rate information for each carrier, on their "compare carrier" app on the iPads, all I could see were the AT&T maps. I would have liked to see this at the Apple store instead of relying on the carrier websites or stores as I felt like it might be less biased if I could. Has anybody else noticed this? Where can I find and compare carrier coverage at the Apple Store?

It's always a good idea to let people know everything you did try or you risk people telling you to do things you've already done.
I'd suggest doing an internet search for "compare wireless carriers" or similar. One of the hits I got on the first page was this:

You can also go to carriers' websites directly. Most will have maps that will let you put in an address or zip code to look at coverage.

File reader and comparing words

hi, im currently trying to create a project and i need a little help to get it started!
What i need to do is create an application which can read a text file. I also need to have a list of words already in the application, and if a word in the list is also in the text file, id like this to be printed in the terminal.
can anybody help me out with how to start this? ive been looking for relevant posts, and there seems to be alot of things on file reading and comparing words, but they r pretty difficult to follow and not really the same as what im looking for.

You can place a for loop within a for loop to to compare every word in the temp array with every word in the other array.
