Lets Be Honest Creat

Creative please allow us some true honesty about the zen touch. I do recall jermey saying that the firmware would be worth the wait, for some it was and other not, are our petitions not even looked at? or are they looked at but the development team couldnt even be bother to throw in a few simple features? obviously the zen touch wasnt close to being a priority and was obsolete from the st day it came out. Creative always hiding behind their vague responses, of we dont have any information and we are not allowed to say dates. Creative just be honest with the touch owners, we have been abandond in all honesty. Apperently there is alot of MTP Firmware problems and its not even downgradeable, what is the point of having that? Also Creative in cause you are both blind and deaf i am mentioning for the millionth time, the EQ is broken. From a company that prides itself in selling top notch sound equipment, you have really blown it this time. I hereby vow to never buy creative again.

Phillips has a 6GB MP3 player that views pictures, does exactly almost the same thing as the ZMP but cheaper. You could say it's a clone, but I don't know. You have to see for yourself. It's not out yet.
It's cheaper too, probably because you don't get the extra 8GB.

Here's what I found so far.
Sensory touchpad SuperScroll for fast music navigation
/2" 65K color LCD screen supports ID3 tags
Digital FM tuner with 20 station presets
FM and voice recording
JPEG still picture playback with music slideshow capability
5 preset equalizer settings
2 /8" W x 3 7/6" H x /6" D
Includes earbuds, rechargeable Li-Ion battery, cradle connection cable, and AC adapter
AND you can Listen to the Radio while doing something else, for example searching for a title in the musik library. you can not do this with the Micro. You can also watch photos while listening to musik. There is a very interseting interacti've guide of the latest Philips DAP on the Philips site. It is worth a look.
However I am very pleased with my Zen Micro, and i still think it is one of the best DAPs overthere (not the photo though). It has a lot of comfortable features like playlist creation (it is not the most advanced, but hey it is stil an audio player, not a musik management utility), the Keyword search funktion ist great when you do not have proper id3 tags, and the look up artist and a decent FM receiver. Now a year later after its launch, it is still one of the few good DAPs (AUDIO) on the market.

  • Am I the Only One Feeling Let Down by Creati

I personally believe that I'm not the only one let down by Creative's recent products and support. I was the guy who'd always go around telling other people "Why get an iPod? Everyone has one, they use proprietary connectors for everything, the battery life sucks, and you get to twiddle your thumbs clockwise and counterclockwise as you go up and down."
    But not anymore.
And no I'm not talking about boycotting apple here, I'm talking about Creative.
I'll start off by providing a little background information about myself. I've always been heavily into music and movies. My computer consists of a Soundblaster Audigy 2 soundcard, and 600gb of RAID 0 hard dri've space. All used for games, music, and movies.
I always loved my Soundblaster cards, even my Soundblaster li've. Then someone showed me something amazing, a 30Gb Creative MP3 player. I think it was the Zen Ztra, I'm not sure, it was a long time ago. Soon as I saw that baby I fell in love with it. It had just 0Gb less than the harddri've of the computer I owned at the time, the sound quality was amazing, and it was very easy to use.
A good time after that, I decided to finally buy an MP3 player of my own after using a Sony ATRAC3 plus CD player for so long for my music. I went to the store and the only thing I could think of was that it had to be a Creative MP3 player. That day I ended up shelling out about 400 bucks for a 20gb Creative Zen Touch. I was wishing I found the 40gb version after that but for the amount of music I had at the time it worked very well.
I think I owned that MP3 player for at leas 2 years or so without any problems or freezes before someone finally stole it from me. I guess that's what I get for lending it to my girlfriend but thats a different story. She agreed to buy me a new one right away. I Think she knew how much I loved creative products at the time (and how much I hated iPods) that she decided to get me a Creative MP3 player of course. She ended up getting one that I was looking at online for quite a while. The Creative Zen Vision: M, the 60gb model.
I was a little disappointed that the battery life was nowhere near as impressi've as my old MP3 player, but with 60Gb, a gorgeous color screen, video playback, a better touchpad than the iPod (In my own opinion), and better battery life than an iPod (actual fact), I couldn't find much else not to like.
Of course, in less than a week I started getting nothing but problems.
While I was away on a trip the MP3 player froze twice. I had to stop at a nearby store to borrow a paperclip to reset it. The second time it froze was when the battery was getting low. After I reset it again the next screen showed "Low Battery" so I shut it off. I guess Creative thinks that everyone likes to carry a desktop computer with them when they go on trips, or that they've added enough problems to the player that they wont use up all the power till they get back. The only way you can charge it without a computer is by buying a battery charger separately, something which was included in a lot of earlier products.
Not being able to find a "Creative" charger, I bought one designed to charge any USB device. I plugged it in, and all I got was a flashing blue light for 24 hours, which was when I finally decided to call it quits. No matter what I did it wouldn't turn on, the reset button did nothing, and all I got was a flashing blue light.
I get home a few days later (without any good music to listen to on the way home) and plug it into my PC and get the same problem. All of this after the recommended firmware update mind you.
I decided to do some reading on the creative forums to try and solve a problem the majority of Zen Vision and other product owners are experiencing. All I found in the forums was a large group of disappointed individuals. The only posts made by Creative staff were regarding refraining from dropping F bombs. Apparently you even have to pay for tech support?! Is this some kind of sick joke?
The message I'm getting from this is that creative is purposely making defecti've products, not only to save money, but also make money from all the people needing tech support.
It wouldn't surprise me if this post was deleted simply because Creative doesn't like having to face facts. Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I felt it necessary to help vent out my frustration with a company I always looked up to.
After this experience, I will be refraining from buying any more Creative products until they clean up their problems. I'd like to hear from other people as well. I'll be boycotting this company, who's with me?

I've never had any problems with mine ever. The only freeze I've had was from a file I recorded on tivo, cut commericals out in movie maker and then re-encoded to the lowest possible bit rate that that zens nati've resolution supports. Try turning your sensitivity in the touch pad down. Sometimes if you have it up to high you may have a chance of doing that (although I have only had slow response, instead of a freeze by doing that).
You also have to compare to all of the other products out there: Ipod and Zune are a lot worse with pathetic little problems (annoyances). I didn't pay for tech support?

Sounds like you could use some MP3 viagra.
Anyway.. You could use some apps to UP sample the files to higher data rates but that would not do anything more than make the files bigger as it doe not really add to the quality. The only real way you could get a higher data rate for the files would be to re rip them from the original CD's at a higher standard.

    Hi Foxvito,
Claims authentication types supported by SharePoint 2010 are Windows Claims, forms-based authentication Claims, and SAML Claims. In SAML-Claims mode, SharePoint Server accepts SAML tokens from a trusted external Security Token Provider (TST). From the
blog you referenced, it seems to use the SAML Claims authentication.
However, the Reporting Services client applications: Report Builder, the Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio, and Management Studio do not support connecting and authenticating with LiveID or SAML Claims based SharePoint Web applications.
That's because the SAML Claims don't use the Reporting Services authentication endpoint. So, you have to change the Claims authentication type to use Report Builder on the SharePoint site.

  • How to grant new user permission when the acct is created from application?

Our application team will randomly create users in DB. But the new user need to have the permission of "execute on DBMS_SNAPSHOT, DBMS_STAT, DBMS_SYSTEM" being granted from sys. We need to grant it automatically after the user is created. I was thinking about using DDL "create" trigger or just DDL database trigger. Once the trigger is fired off, issue the grant statement. We can capture the create even for the user, but got error when running the grant in the trigger or from the procedure called by trigger. My guess is that the "grant" is a DDL and DDL trigger cannot start another DDL statement. I also think about put the insert trigger on the sys.user$. But oracle would not let trigger being created on the sys tables or views.
What can we do now? The other option, I am wondering if there is a system package that can call external program (like Unix shell script) from the DDL trigger, to let the shell script do the grant, since this may not be considered as the same execution tree. Do we have such package to call from database to the UNIX shell script? Or for such need, do we have any other option?
    Thanks for help!
    Edited by: user5973955 on Oct 6, 2010 3:51 PM

The application teams do not have the sys permission. If the application has privileges to CREATE USER, it can then issue GRANT
    Change the privileges.
But they want this being resolved from DBA.DBA did NOT make this problem.
The flawed application created the problem.
Alternatively CREATE PROCEDURE that can issue GRANT & have application call this new procedure.

  • Can you create a playlist when the associated files are not present?

I want to let my friend create a playlist from songs in MY library, but from HIS computer, so I copied my Library.itl and Library.XML files to his PC to let him peruse what I have. Obviously this only lets hin VIEW the songs, NOT play them. Is there a way he can create a playlist that I can then move back to my library and put on my iPod?
I've tried dragging and dropping as well as right click>Add to Playlist, but neither method works when the files associated are not present.
    Is it possible?

No.  iTunes will only add media to a playlist if the media files are present.

  • How to make metadata fields required when creating folders

    Hello all....
Related issue with SR 3-6472229431 and SR 3-6471130611.
We're using DIS 11.1.6 64-bits (2011_11_29 (rev 9756) 11.1.6.97) in a Windows 7 64-bits workstation (with UCM 11.1.1.5 in a Linux machine). The check-in of images to UCM goes fine.
I'm trying to make some metadata fields required when creating a folder. These fields are required when making a check-in, but not when creating folders.
    Folders_g is enabled. DesktopTag too.
    EDIT: Patch: 14695303 - WCC 11.1.1.5.0 BUNDLE ( MLR 16 ) NOV 6 2012 applied.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks for all.
Edited by: fgomes on 22/11/2012 03:24

After reading your response and rereading the original question a bit closer, the metadata prompting feature does not apply to creating new folders, only content.
Again, though, I think the focus here is in the wrong place. The metadata applied to a folder is intended to be ultimately applied to the content. You can build global rules that fire on submission of content to check if a field has a value, and throw an error if the value is empty.
If you expect users to create folders (and actually apply any metadata to the actual folder itself), you will be disappointed. Experience shows that users are not interested in that level of detail when creating content, let alone folders. Letting typical users create folders is a bad idea anyway, as they tend to create the same inefficient folder structures they previously created in file shares within Content Server.
If you need to tightly control folder attributes, you'll be better served by locking down the ability to create new folders. Otherwise you're looking at some type of customization. Keep in mind that you won't be able to customize the right click behavior of DIS. Any changes to DIS would have to be an enhancement request.

  • Can't create a5 documents

    Hello,
a user with non admin rights trying to convert an a5 word 2003 document to a5 pdf with adobe acrobat 3d 8
When he creates the pdf with the adobe printer from word, the document is converted as a4.
So we found out that in the adobe printer settings the default is a4 and there is no a5. As the user doesn't have the admin rights he can't create a custom a5 form.
But when I try to create pdf by saving the word document and right clicking and choosing convert to pdf, it's working as it's not converted with the adobe printer (it seems)
When the user tries to convert by right clicking the document and choosing convert to pdf or from word's convert to pdf menu etc.. it's converted via the printer driver so the output is A4. Is there a way to tell adobe not to use printer if it's not exclusively selected from the menu. Or how can we resolve that without creating a custom form
    Thank you

    hello,
they can create an a5 document from word 2003.
we can with local admin rgihts I think create an a5 pdf file from this document. But the user can't.
We have to user free pdf converters to let user to create a5 pdf.
