Letter "O" followed by slash shows up as "Ø"

Why is it that every time I type the letter "O" followed by a slash ("/") I get "Ø"? Is this a new dead-key combo? I know that OS X will automagically change "f-f-i" into the "ffi" ligature (which is nice), but this is really driving me nuts!!

You could experiment a little.
Assuming your current keyboard layout is US (System Preferences > International), change it to UK. Is the problem still there?
Disable US keyboard completely, uncheck the checkbox next to it. Enable it again. Is the problem still there?
Create a new account on your machine. Does the new user have the same problem?

What do I do when my iTunes library won't let me delete a TV show?

I was downloading a TV show in HD and then realised that I could get it in SD, which is preferable to me. Through reading someone else's posting, I now know how to download the SD version, but my library is refusing to let me delete the ones that were already downloaded. Any suggestions?

Facebook friends/follow won't show.

Hello. My facebook friends list says I have no friends. I do have over 4000. I have another private account with 5 fb friends on the same computer and it loads that account's friends just fine. I've tried evrerything and i don't know what else to do. I really finally started caring about what other people listen to and I want to be able to follow them! Here's what Im working with and what I've tried. Deleting the spotify app settings in FacebookUninstaling and reinstalling spotifyClearing internet cache as well as removing it from the registryLogging in from another computer, tablet, and phoneChecked facebook privavy settings as well as the ones in spotify.Also, on spotify.com, it won't let me log out of my main account on the account overview on my new account, even when i clear my cookies and all that. My second (old account I don't want to use anymore) works just fine on all of them! Please help! I'm thinking about getting premium again, and I don't want to if this basic feature won't even work on one specific account for no reason! Thanks, DJ

Yes that was the problem. I put "http://" in front of "facebook" in the original code and it worked. It just had "//facebook....." originally.

OS X Mavericks won't let me view a slide show on PPT

I upgraded my Mac to the OS X Mavericks few days ago. But, now I'm having issues with my PowerPoint slide show. When I click to view a slide show, my screen completely turns black. Also, I found my laptop to be slow and freezing at sometimes. I read that I have to update my Microsoft Office to the 14.1.0 , and for some reason it does not allow me upgrading it. When I click to instal the upgrade it stops in the middle of the process saying that I'm missing something. Please help I'm very new to Mac!

A Restart is the only option you have left really. Pressing the power on button on the front panel does a graceful (non destructive) restart/shutdown of the mac. Whatever you do don’t yank out the power cable, you could potentially shock the drives and damage/lose your data.
Why 10.4.1? I would update as soon as you can to at least 10.4.8. 10.4 Server had some major problems until the 10.4.4 update stabilized things.

Can't get ping's "Follow Me" to show up and go to

I've chosen "follow me" on ping, but the person's playlist won't come up so Ican download their music.

Toolbar extensions are installed to the user account / Profile, they're not installed globally. You need to install them separately to each user account / Profile.
If you know your way around in the Windows Explorer file system, you can drop an extension into the program files Firefox\extensions\ folder and the extension will be installed globally - as each Profile is launched. Right-click the installation button for extensions an use Save Link As... to save the extension to local disk.

ITunes won't let me copy a TV show to iPod Classic

Hi,
I can't copy a TV show to my iPod using either the sync or manual method. Some other TV shows work fine, but not the file I want to copy! When I try to drag the file from my TV show library onto the TV Shows folder on the iPod, the file just "snaps" back and won't actually copy.
Any suggestions?

FIgured it out: the file was in HD format and the iPod Classic cannot play HD files. Downloading the SD version now...

Comments secton of iTunes 10.4 won't let me paste my podcast show notes

I have created over 300 episodes of my podcast, and have always put my show notes in the comments section of iTunes, where they become embedded into the podcast mp3 file. But with this latest version of iTunes (10.4) when I try to paste my show notes into comments, I get an error tone. Nothing will paste in. It will allow me to type a short entry, but not nearly as many characters as previous versions allowed.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a new method we are supposed to use in order to add our show notes to an audio file?

The entire editing interface seems to have been messed with in the latest update. Running the latest iTunes 10.4 (updated yesterday) but still with Snow Leopard on a 2 year old MacBook. Can copy and paste, but the autofill from previous data already in the library no longer functions, and the tab key no longer moves you to the next column. Also, the mouse's ability to highlight portions of the data doesn't seem to work quite right. It takes two mouse clicks to start highlighting from the location of the cursor, instead of click/hold/highlight (if you can tell what I mean).
Don't even get me started on the update changing my default library location!

Follow up activity shows different priority

we are using CRM5.0 after the creation of a service ticket with priority High , we create a service order as a follow up but this service order is created with a priority as medium always.
what settings can be done such that the follow up also holds the same priority as the service ticket.

I think settings for service order header in spro are responsible for default priority.
You should work with some copy badis, but there is a lot of work searching for appriopriate method.

Mozila crashed suddenly and now it won't start. it shows white screen only. It won't let me reinstal it, sys shows that every .exe file is corruped.

I was listeninig songs on youtube and mozila and whole sys just crushed. I recovered sys but after that mozila won't work. It lifts up just mozila frame and it just won't work. It won't let me reinstall it too. I downloaded about 10 instalations and for every it gaves me notification that file is corruped.
I didnt uninstal it for not to lose all the bukmarks.
Help me, what to do.

Try this. It worked for a few users after a drop.
Turn the iPad over and give it a very HARD slap on the back. May take several slaps.

4th generation ipod wont let me sink apps, they show on the computer

The apps show on the computer, but wont snyc to i pod after I did updates today.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Won't let me buy movies or shows...?

So, whenever I try to buy a show or movie on iTunes, it tells me that I need to upgrade it, then takes me to a page where all it says is "Upgrade to the latest version of iTunes" then has a "Free Upgrade" button, and whenever I click the button, nothing happens? I've re-downloaded iTunes off of apple.com twice to see if that would work, and I've done a software update and it doesn't say it needs to be upgraded, so how do I fix it? :\

Sxmb_moni shows the returning string as a big string of letter 'A'

I am using the following scenario
An outside application sends a huge variable string of data via XI using SOAP adapter. XI inturn using RFC and a ZBAPI writes this into a table.
On the table side I am using the datatype 'VARILRAW' and it gets saved successfully without any error. However, because of the property, I can not go and see if the data in the table is correctly saved.
So I have written another ZBAPI to send the data back to the appliation, where I can check to see if the data string is the same that I sent.
However, instead of sending the same string back, it is sending a huge string of 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...',
I went and checked the sxmb_moni and it shows the string that is coming in as correct string as expected. But the returning string is a huge string of letter As. (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa).
Can some one please show me where I am going wrong? I would really appreciate it.

even we faced the same problem.
we used to get the data from .NET application and we found that ascill values are not the same.
for example if they are sending letter "X" it's being taken as some other letter which is not equivalent to letter "X".
in SXMB_MONI it shows the same letter "X" but while processing it takes something diff.
for us the solution worked when we changed the case of the letter as it was coming as small "x" we made it as CAPITAL "X".
then the processing was correct.
really speaking dont know how the character conversions takes place behind the screen.

Sounds that you use a font that supports ligatures.
