Letter of volatility for PXIe-1071
I'm looking for a Letter (certificate) of Volatility for the following, please:
PXIe-1071
PXIe-8135
PXIe-8234
Hey,
This is the type of request that would be better suited for an official service request via our support system. Since there was a nearly identical request submitted recently, I am going to assume that it pertains to the same incident and handle it via that channel.

Letter of Volatility for PXI-8108?
Is there a Letter of Volatility Available for the PXI-8108 describing volatile and non-volatile memory
To anyone interested in getting a Letter of Volatility (LOV):
We have started posting LOVs on some product pages of our website in the resources section, so it is worth checking there before contacting us. In many cases, as it was in this one, we have not made the LOV publicly accessible at this time.
In that case, the most efficient way to get LOVs is to contact our support engineers by calling 866-ASK-MYNI (275-6964). They will be able to talk to you about your need for the document and speak with our internal resources to get that to you fairly quickly.

Bluetooth connectivity for PXIe-1071, PXIe-8133
Hi, There are about 24 numbers of NI PXIe-1071 chassis with PXIe-8133 controllers in our lab. I would like to interface a Bluetooth device (EEG and ECG monitors) with the DAQ. The DAQs are running Windows 7 and LabVIEW.
How would you suggest I connect the Bluetooth devices to the DAQs?
If I buy Bluetooth dongles that fit via the USB is that a good solution?
Thanks.
PhilipHi PKP,
Since your controllers are running Windows 7, they function just as a normal computer would; therefore the USB ports would behave just as a desktop would. You could load the drivers onto the controller and collect data from the bluetooth device that way. Do you have software to read the EEG and ECG signals into LabVIEW?

Please provide me with a Letter of Volatility for the Motion Control Boards PCI-7344 and PCI-7354. I would also appreciate one for the Video Capture Board PCI-1409. A declassification procedure for each of these boards would also meet my requirements. Thanks.
I don't believe there is a price for the letter, but I could be wrong. The best way to proceed with this, if you call us at 1-866-ASK-MYNI (1-866-275-6964) and create a service request, or I can pull your information and send you this information myself if you give me permission to access your information for that purpose.

I'm trying to locate a Letter of Volatility for the VXI-1000 Mainframe, but haven't had any luck searching the web site. I tried to submit a support request but don't have a membership number to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello mdbeer,
The VXI-1000 main frame was End of Life (EOL) in approximately 1997 and thus the documentation such as the Letter of Volatility is unavailable. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Getting DataSocket for LV RT 5.0.0 installed on PXIe-1071?
Hello all,
Hopefully this is just an easy to answer question, but since I got so stuck on this I'll ask it anyway.
How do I install "DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time 5.0.0" (on a NI PXIe-1071 module with MAX)?
Installing software with MAX and getting it on they module is not the problem, the problem is that I can't find any setup file to download that has the specific program: "DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time 5.0.0".
The system we use is a:
- NI PXIe-1071
With the modules:
- NI PXIe-8100 (Embedded controller, Slot 1)
- NI PXI-7951R (FPGA with NI 5751 adapter module for flexrio, Slot 2)
- NI PXI-5402 (Function generator, Slot 3)
The software we have installed can be seen in the picture (Attachment) (And yes we also need to resolve the driver problem for the function generator in slot 3 as can be seen in the picture
All software in installed with MAX, all NI drivers have been updated in the last two days to the latest versions. A lan connection (with same subnet) connects our host computer with our NI PXIe-1071 box.
The reason we need the "DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time 5.0.0" is that we are creating a copy of a working existing system.
When trying to find it on the NI support pages we keep finding a page that directs to the page to instal NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2012. After downloading and trying to install it we get this message: "Cannot install - NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2012 f3 (higher version already installed)"
Thanks in advance,
Sander Breur

Where i can find exemples for PXI-2564 relay module
hello,
I'm beginner in PXI module using.
I bought a PXI solution for use it as a custom instrument.
My aim is to read RTDs and command some line using relays.
So i take the system below:
NI PXIe 1071
PXI-8100
PXIe-4357
PXI-2564
I can see all the material on NI MAX.
In MAX, i can read RTD a channel value and can operate relays.
i have read and practice exercice on "Getting started with Labview RT module" and all it works,But i don't find any resources or exemple to deal with relay card or read RTD.
I have try to access it using "visa connect" and this step works, but what must i do to go further.
In a first time i want to swap relay position, by reading position, invert value ,set position and return the value.
And for RDT i'll want to make a simple measure and make a average a N measure for 1 or all input.
Can you give me some exemple or trick?
Best regardsHello,
What software do you use? what version?
Have you look into the LabVIEW Example Research with KeyWord "Relay". There are examples with NI-DAQmx and niSwitch drivers.
Thanks

Where to find connectors for PXIe plugin card
Can anyone help with information about XP4/XJ4 connectors for PXIe: Suitable vendor type numbers?
We want to make a custom card to plug into a PXIe-1071 chassis - but only need the 3.3V power from the chassis. But after long search I was unable to find a type number for such a connector. XJ4 is the smallest but obviously any of the connector types will do as they all have power pins.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hello heel.
I have searched in our internal papers, and according to my findings we are using ERNI as a manyfactor for our connectors.
ERNI
Also, since you want to design for own PXI board, you might be able to find some usefull information in the PXI specifications.
PXI Systems Alliance
I hope you can use this information.

The PXIe 1071 chassis is located inside a panel which is normally kept closed. Every day morning at start of shift, the operator has to open the panel door and switch ON the White button in front of the controller. This is something they are not happy doing as the panel does have high voltage switchgear at the bottom level.
Earlier with PCI boards and normal Induatrial computer we could wire the Power ON / OFF button to a switch outside the panel. Whihc was in parallel with the built in power switch of the PC.
I would like to get the same functioanlity with the PXI also, as noted below :
- When the panel is powered up, the PXI also powers up and loads the WIN7 OS.
- The operator launches the application and completes testing.
- When done he quits the application, shuts down the PC.
- Powers down the panel and goes home.
I have already treid to read the manual which talks of a SW1 switch but the description is quite ambigous as to what it does :
When switch 1 of SW1 is on, the backplane controls the power supply on/off state. This allows you to circumvent the controller and turn the chassis on/off manually. When switch 1 of SW1 is on, the power supply turns on when you press the front panel power switch....
I really am not clear as to what hey are trying to say. And since the system is now with client, I need to be sure before I propose to change default settings. Trial and error will look not so good.

LV2012 to Automate Hydraulic Test rigs.Hi Ming,
I apologize for my confusion regarding the functionality of the DB9 inhibit switch versus the white power button. I must have misinterpreted the descriptions in the User Manual. It seems that the white power button can hibernate the system whereas the DB9 inhibit switch just cuts off the power. In order to properly shut it down without using the white power button you will need to first hibernate or shutdown the computer through the Windows interface, then you can use the DB9 inhibit switch to remotely cutoff the power to the chassis and later turn it back on. I am not aware of another simple 'one press button' type way to remotely hibernate the PXI controller.
Since your chassis is located in a cabinet you could run keyboard and monitor cables to the device to interface with it. Alternately, you could connect the chassis to the internet and use Remote Desktop to shut it down.

We have a PXIe-1071 and would like to upgrade the memory from the existing 4 GB. What is the maximum this board will support? I opened it up and found 2 SODIMM slots occupied by 2 GB. Will it take 4 GB sticks (for a total of 8 GB) or 8 GB sticks (total of 16 GB) ? The manual and NI page mentions nothing about RAM at all, but the page for the PXIe-8135 says it supports 16 GB.
If the spec say 8GB is your limit, then 8GB is your limit.
There are only two ways to tell somebody thanks: Kudos and Marked Solutions

Driver Setup for PXI 2569 and PXI 2529 in Switch executive
Hi,
What sould be tha "Driver Setup" for PXI 2569 and PXI 2529 in Switch executive under 'Driver Session"
Regards!!!
Vineet ShuklaHi Vineet,
You do not need to insert anything under Driver Setup. Anytime you are using NI switches, you can simply click Configure NI Switches when creating a NI Switch Executive Virtual Device to configure the topology settings of those switches.
Just so you know, you can insert information under Driver Setup, and then you wouldn't have to use the Configure NI Switches wizard. More detail on what to insert under Driver Setup can be found in the following KnowledgeBase:
How Do I Create a Virtual Switch and Use it in my Application?
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/A1F0D6A3357E14B386256E4B0071FDA2?OpenDocument
In short, you would type "Topology:" followed by the topology name such as "2569/100-SPST" or "2529/2-Wire 4x32 Matrix".
Let me know if you have further questions or if this does not resolve your issue!
