Letterboxed area is dark grey, not black

When I use Compressor 3.0.2 to encode to MPEG-2 video that's cropped and padded to 2.35 AR inside a 16:9 frame, the letterbox area isn't a true black. It's a very dark gray, but not quite black. Anyone else notice this?

Do the files you're trying to open have this extension: .dvdproj ? How are you attempting to open them?

Backlighting very grey not black

Hello just wanted to ask someone about backlighting i received anew ipod and the contrast is very light grey not black like my other ipod is this normal ? they are both 4th gen. but one is brand new one is older the new one looks very grey not black and not much contrast, could it be defective or something? does anyone know? Screen Sharing not Working Grey not Black

Can't seem to find any posts that are helpful with the problem. Was using Screen Sharing with my Inlaws the other night to help them, but now it won't let them share their screen with me. I can share my screen with them but not the otherway around. Has anyone run into this same problem and successfully resolved it?

My original computer died and I am now trying to import my ipod music on to my new computer. I got instructions to do a back up, but I can not select this becaust it is grey not black. Help please

My old computer crashed so the only place I have my music library is on my ipod. I am trying to copy my old music into my library in itunes but can't find instructions on the internet that work. I can not back up my device because back up shows up as a npt selectable item in the menu (grey not black). I can not copy my old libray over because the old computer crashed. Any suggestions?

Music wont play on my ipod, but is still shown in grey(not black) text.

I got a new 4th generation ipod a few months ago and when i tried to put music onto it 95% of the songs are unplayable by my ipod, but all of my music was working on my 2nd generation ipod and in itunes. the songs that dont work are shown in grey text and the ones that do in black. all of the artists and albums are still displayed in black even if no songs in that folder work. Every now and then when i go to sync, an error message shows up and says that one of the songs couldnt be synced and then the sync ends. and ive fully updated is and even tried reseting the ipod and redownloading itunes.

Is there going to be a fix made so that you can read the song list in iTunes 11, dark grey on black is not conducive to easy reading?

I have recently upgraded to iTunes 11. Overall there have been some ok improvements, however, one area that went completely backwards is the look of the songs list. The Artist/Album list looks good, but the song list is illegible.

InDesign black ink is printing grey not black on Canon MP470 printer

Just installed a new IMac computer. I have two printers available. Canon MP470 connected via USB port and a HP Photosmart 6510 connected via WI-FI. When printing InDesign documents on the Canon printer all colors print a weak color (black is grey etc.). The same document printed on the HP Photosmart 6510 black prints as black and other colors appear normal as designed. Illustrator documents printed in black on both machines print black. Have I messed up a setting?

I have had the following Preferences set:
On Screen: Display all Blacks as Rich Black
Printing/Exporting: Output all Blacks as Rich Black
and have also checked to activate:
Overprint [Black] Swatch at 100%

TS1398 Turn the wifi on and off? I think I have a serious problem here. I cannot even press the on and off because its not available (the color is grey not black). I think this is why Apple is constantly losing a buyer and user. Slow action.

I have been hacked on hotmail, and i try to change my password on mail and it will not change, it comes up grey not black so i cannot access it

basucaly what has happened is i went onto my laptop, changed my hotmail password, then now i cannot access it on my ipod i have been onto Settings-Mail,Contacts,Calender and the box where it says "hotmail" the writing is in grey so i cannot access the next stage, i dont know what next to do any help would be greatful!

Congratulations on your new iPad! You may need to restore your iPad if the sync option is grayed out. You can find steps to restore your iPad here:

Monitor is very dark but not black

The monitor seemed to have gone dead a while back. I reset the PMU, and now I can very vaguely see the desktop, but it's way too dark to use. Is it the backlight that's gone out? Or is there some way to adjust brightness levels (without seeing the screen well enough to navigate!) to bring it back to useful levels?

I can't believe I found the solution 2 minutes after posting. Here is the link & a brief synopsis of the correction. At least my correction anyway.

My tool bar is now (file edit view history bookmark tools help) is a dark grey with black letters, very hard to read as is the Firefox bar above it

Screen goes dark..not black

Hi
Last night my computer screen went dark. I could still see what was on the screen but it was very very dark. Had to force quit with power button. Computer came back on and was fine. Now this morning when I went to power on, it powered on fine then a few minutes later same thing happened. It happened a few times and then the last time I powered up it hasn't happened. Any suggestions?

Update: happened a couple of times today.

Same thing here. Started happening a few days ago. Usually, all I have to do is close the laptop and open it up...doesn't usually work the first time, but after 2 or 3 times, it will come back on and there is no problem. I have no idea what is going on. Mine is a 2008 macbook.
