Letters in elements 11

Can I design a "letters/word only" logo with my own custom letters using elements 11? Also, how can I access letters in elements 11 to add to a photo. I am new to photoshop as of today. Thank you.

PSE uses the system fonts. Of course, you can install additional fonts if there are particular ones that you have in mind.
You can type letters or words with the text tool. The tool uses the foreground color (see the foreground and background chips).

Are you sure you have the regular horizontal or vertical type tool and not one of the type masks selected? If you choose the type mask tools you see a dotted outline around the T icon instead of a solid T.

You possibly have a redemption code which has to be converted into a serial number.

If the code you are trying to enter has letters then you are not looking at a serial number. A serial number only contains numbers - 6 sets of 4 numbers.
Find your serial number quickly
You might be dealing with a redemption code. This is especially so if you purchased it from a store or the like.

Does it begin with 1057? If not, it's a redemption code. In which case, see here:

If it is a serial number, go to system preferences>security & privacy>firewall>firewall options and be sure that PSE is allowed to call out.

When trying to register Photoshop Elements with my serial number, only the numbers will show, not any letters in the number. Why?

When I try to register Photoshop Elements, only the numbers show in the boxes, none of the letters in the serial number will show.

Then obviously Elements is different from Photoshop, Indesign or Illustrator which all have only numbers.

Hi JenRR,
Please try resetting your tools from Tool options.
Open Tool options in PSE status bar. Click on flyout menu and click on Reset All Tools.
Let me know if this solves the issue.

When I send a jpeg file from Elements 13 to an email address - it comes out as letters/numbers - not an image.

Before we proceed - I have been corresponding with 'Little Pale Face' (Brian) and as far as I know he is still working on the problem.
I use Windows Live Mail and my service provider is Cogeco.ca
I have looked at all the settings in Preferences, and cannot see anything unusual.
I still have Elements 11 on my computer (will probably delete when 13 is running satisfactorily.
I did a test in Elements 11 - I can share pictures directly from my Organizer screen. I can choose a number of photos, go to SHARE, and it takes me through the appropriate steps, and then opens my email showing the pictures as attachments.
When I go through the same procedure for Elements 13, the program indicates that the files are being prepared, and then states that they were successfully shared. The image files are received as 'text' not as 'image' files.
2. The other problem is creating a slide show. Again this works in Elements 11, and does not work in Elements 13. The steps are quite simple, so I don't think I am missing anything.
I will not be available Thursday morning, but will be here Thursday afternoon.

I got a retail version of Photoshop Elements 13 from Bestbuy and when I go to enter a product key, the area where you enter the key will only except numbers, which means when I press a letter key (i.e A,S,D,F) it will not enter the letter in the box.

Serial numbers are strictly numeric. You might be looking at a redemption code, which is used to obtain the serial number.

I purchased Elements 13 and everything downloaded great. When I go to license the software before use the code wont accept letters, only numbers. My serial number has both.

I can't use the software before a license it. I am on the page to type in the serial number and it won't take letters only numbers. This is very frustrating.

Where is the redemption code located on product elements 13. There are numbers and characters on the box and on the cd sleeve.

Or even in a prepaid card as per this picture:
Click on the image and get the necessary instructions how to redeem it to get proper serial number.

Install for Elements 12 on Windows 8 laptop yields an interface with tiny letters and unusable screen. Looks like a resolution issue for the application. Can that be changed?

No Disk error in Premiere Elements 13

I am getting the following error: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR1." If i click continue about 5 times the box disappears & I can continue working. The same thing occurs at random when i am attempting to do different operations with the same result. I can work within the program, however the constant error message is annoying. I have searched these forums & tried the different methods of uninstalling & reinstalling, deleting the recommended files, & running a Ccleaner. I can't find any other recommendations on this problem. Please help!

Premiere Elements 13 on what computer operating system? For now, assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
What is your computer drives arrangement? How many removable drives do you have, and what are their drive letters?

Reports of the problem that you are describing can be found for Premiere Elements many versions.
Back in 2012, the word was to use Cancel and wait for an answer from Adobe who was working on the problem.
In 2013, the cause and effect seem to target the SmartSound feature....SmartSound feature is gone in Premiere Elements 12 and 13.
Microsoft and some visitors to this forum suggest getting to the core of the problem through drive letter changes for some removable drives.
Did you install Premiere Elements 13 from installation disc or from installation files from online download? I favor the uninstall/ccleaner run through/reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) approach to getting rid of the issue. But, problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes.
