Letters look distorted when typing.

When I am typing in certain areas. Like ebay/craigslists/my emails are coming in where the letters look like they did when using typewriter and almost out of ink.  Some of my emails come through all right but if someone has typed something than they look like this.  This typing i'm doing now looks fine. ????????????

  • Illustrator CS6 jpeg file saved looks distorted when uploaded onto internet

I am helping  a pal of mine on illustrator and I have little knowledge so Im asking here. They made a simple type and shape design with a solid backdrop. When I tried to export via save for web to jpeg with high settings, it came up online with subtle but visible alterations. Behind my shapes are speckled like dust, it looks super low quality.
I'm not sure what info would help solve this, but maybe someone else has made an oopsie and can tell me how to fix it. I tried using ps to save instead, I even tried removing the backdrop and remaking a whole new document and just moving select items over, then recoloring..which was not the best attempt but same result.
I'm not exactly sure what her color settings should be to avoid this. Im working at 6500 x 6500 right now.
Here's a visual of the up close issue.
All over its less quality. And Im saving at top jpeg settings in RGB
I really don't want to tell her she has to begin all over again, thanks in advance for help.
Oh, on her pc there is no distortion. It's just online where it becomes crazy.

Are you sure she can't take gif? It can be rgb, and for this style of art, it will look better than jpeg. This is a quick recreation of your file section, as a medium-low quality gif.

  • Letters are doubled when typing in new place name

I have been struggling with the new way of adding places to photos in iPhoto 11 (see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2623201&tstart=0). I finally figured out (more or less) how to add a new place to a photo. After a while another problem showed up, which I can't get rid of:
In the Info window of a photo, I enlarge the places window to show the map. I then start typing in a place name, but every letter I type in gets doubled (displayed twice). But when removing the double letter, the automatic search doesn't get updated, so I can't select any of my own places as they never show up. And it doesn't happen with every letter. Only the first one and every one after I have removed a doubled letter.
If I try this without the map being show, the first letter gets displayed once, but the next letters are doubled as the map is automatically shown.
The strange thing is that it didn't happen before.
I tried to restart iPhoto. Problem still exists.
I even restart my MacBook Pro (first time I had to do that regarding a software bug). Problem still exists.
I tried another photo library I have, and there it doesn't happen, so it seems to be linked to that specific photo library.
    Any suggestions?

very few people have reported this - try renewing your iphoto preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

fonts for Edge Code not support Cyrillic?

    Hi Mosharvos,
Unfortunately the font we use, Source Code Pro, doesn't support Cyrillic currently. But we're talking to the font team about getting it supported. I don't have an ETA on that, but will try to report back to this post when I have something.

  • Acrobat 9: Issue with Graphics Looking Distorted

Hi all. I'm sure that the answer to this is very simple and I am doing something ridiculous ...
I use Microsoft Publisher (2007 version) to create documents, and then convert them to PDF using Acrobat 9. Recently, I have noticed that many of the graphics elements that I use are looking distorted when viewed onscreen. They print out looking as smooth as they did in the original Publisher file, but are a lot less so onscreen. Seeing as many people read PDFs onscreen now, this is a bit of a worry.
I have tried saving graphics as JPEGs, GIFs, PNGs and TIFFs (in PhotoShop CS5) and get the same issue each time. Also, the quality between one save and another can be extremely variable. In the example I have attached (the top section is a screen grab from the Publisher file, the bottom when convereted), once or twice when saving the rotated image looked utterly dreadful (as in completely usable). However, when I would save it again a few minutes later, without having adjusted anyting, it looked a lot better.
In the example below, you can see our company logo and also the lines around the photograph don't look great. (The rest is just text, which always looks great.)
Any settings I am missing ... other PDFs I have seen always look great.
I have set the the PDF conversation to High Quality, so am not sure where I am going wrong.

  • Macbook Pro switches order of letters when typing fast

Attention: If you seem to make more mistakes when typing on a macbook pro, it's probably not your fault. Letters get switched around.
This is a problem that has been exhibited in macbook pros as early as 2007 and still apparent today. I could never prove for sure it wasn't me making the mistakes, but today I came up with a consistent test case to prove I'm right. Right now using macbook pro retina display. I noticed this today when every time I typed the word "front" it would come out wrong and I'd have to correct it.
    How to reproduce:
-In an extremely swift, rolling motion (lasting no more than a tenth of a second), type the letters "fron". The left index finger goes on the f, the left middle finger goes on the r, the right ring finger goes on the o, and the right index finger goes on the n. Since all the fingers are different, it is easy to type the 4 letters extremely fast. You might notice that conventionally the left index finger is supposed to type the letter "r", but people who are good at typing always subconsciously make small adjustments to fingering which improve typing speed/efficiency, so this is a common practice. In this case, I always automatically use my left middle finger for the r in "front" without even thinking, because optimization of typing speed has become second-nature to me, just like you would type "lol" with two fingers rather than cumbersomely all 3 letters with the right ring finger.
-The fingers should all stay on the keys and keep them depressed throughout this 1/10 of a second typing motion; this is very common in fast typing and has never been an issue in other computers (it would be ludicrous to expect fast typers to meticulously lift their finger up after every letter and make sure there were never 2 keys depressed simultaneously. If there is ever any overlap between keys being pressed, the key that was pressed first should appear first on the screen, not randomly jumbled order)
-You will notice that even though your fingers landed in the order of "fron", what comes out is usually "fnor" or may even be missing some letters.
-This is reproducible while typing inside any application

That is normal. You have to keep objects that have magnets out pf the palm rest area of the computer.
    From Apple:
Macbook Pro goes to sleep when stacked.
“Placing a device that contains a magnet (such as an iPhone) under your computer or on its palm rests can cause the computer to sleep unexpectedly. This can also appear to cause the computer to have difficulties starting up”.

I am unable to control my iPad 2. When typing and deleting it generates random letters! Any advice

Start with this and see how it goes. Quit all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • When typing my letters skip! help!

Hey guys, i recently bought i macpro and it has been awesome. the only thing though is that recently, whenever i type, the letters skip! For instance, i'm typing a sentence and the typing cursor would suddenly appear in the middle of the sentence disrupting me.
The problem isnt that bad. But it gets annoying when it happens. i was wondering whether there's something wrong with my computer maybe?
The last computer i used had this problem real bad. (it was a non-apple, that was one of the reasons i changed) So i really hope i can get some advice on this problem.
Thanks and happy chinese new year.
    Cheers,
    Errol

Errol….This may be of some help….When using my new MBP and being used to the old one, I noticed the same thing happening to me, and it was actually a physical problem not software. I was not used to the larger surface area of the mousepad, and when I typed as I would sometimes allow my palms to inadvertently tap the mouspad moving the cursor around the keyboard. Simply becoming more conscious about it when typing and being sure not to wrest my palms anywhere near the pad solved it for me. Hopefully it works for you, again if thats the same issue. Best of luck
