One of our final customer bought imac last months. OS 10.9, SN is c02*******J4i
Since they are security printing, all the necessary ports accessing to outisdes need to be disabled in low level setting(not the ons just like turn on and off ).
The ports including USB storage, Network and WIFI.
I googled and found the following
Open the /System/Library/Extensions folder.
To remove support for USB mass storage devices, drag the following file to the Trash: IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
Open Terminal and enter the following command: $ sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions The touch command changes the modified date of the /System/Library/Extensions folder. When the folder has a new modified date, the Extension cache files (located in /System/Library/) are deleted and rebuilt by Mac OS X.
Choose Finder > Secure Empty Trash to delete the file.
Restart the system.
I want to confirm this before sending to final user. Since I didn't have mac on hand, just wonder whether there are similar kext files for network and wifi to remove.
Just like step 2 described.
I would like customer to backup these files before permanently removed.

You could delete WAP accesspoint. Not all providers (carriers) allow this.

Content level setting in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
i am new to obiee 11g.i have an doubt in setting up the content level setting in BMM layer.i have given details level in fact LTS content tab with help of physical join,i dont get any error but while trying to generate reports i am getting an error "None of the fact table is compatible with the requested level".where i am commiting mistake,do i need to set content llevel based on physical join or logical join scenario.kindly help regarding this.

Hi Nanda,
We set the content level of logical source based on the granularity of the source.
Say, a product hierarchy is like
Category -> Sub Category -> Product
Say one of your dimensions has Product information, for this source set the level as 'Product'
Say there is an aggregated source which has Category information, set the source level as 'Category'.

How to hold back zoom level setting?

Zoom level changes every time with opening page, & I want to keep already set zoom level ,as it happens in other browsers like Google Crome.How to keep zoom level always set ,at it's selected level? The Firefox [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Page+Zoom Page Zoom] feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox, as with some other browsers.

Nosquint's Global zoom level setting can not be saved

I change the Global zoom level setting 140 from 150, and it works a 140. after I quit FF and back again, the Global zoom level is changed back to 150 again, it seems that can not be saved. it is working under V21
I am using ff 24.0 now

You can check for problems with preferences.<br />
Rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value.

You can rename the content-prefs.sqlite file to content-prefs.sqlite.old (or delete the file) in the Firefox profile folder to reset the page zoom for all websites.

Security Level set to High, Windows 7, Word 2010, Acrobat X Pro

I had Acrobat 9 Pro and could create PDF files from Word 2010 files by going directly into Acrobat.
Then, one day, I received an error msg: "Secruty Level set to High, please run the application which created this document ..."
I figured that MS has installed some sort of security update which prevented me from creating PFD files from Word 2010 files.
So I waited for Acrobat X to ship, which I just bought for $199 (on top of the $449 for Acrobat 9 Pro).
I just installed the new version of Acrobat X Pro, but I get the same error message.
PLEASE HELP!!

I called the Adobe Tech Support and spent an hour on the phone with the gentleman. We went through many configurations and I'm still trying to resolve this issue (I'll be reinstalling Acrobat X in a minute to see if our changes make a difference).
I believe the trouble lies in the fact that I'm on a 64-bit system, with an MS-issued security update. Hard to say exactly what the fiasco is all about just now.

Change Default Application level setting for checkbox value from "On"/"Off" to 1/0

I am creating livecycle designer forms. In that the checkboxes take a default value of "On'/"Off" and I have to change it to 1 and 0 in all the boxes on layout checkbox property.
In livecycle i have to change it in Object-Binding tab.
Is there an application level setting where I can set the default to 1 and 0 instead of "on/"off" at the app level itself? this way every new form will have 0 and 1 instead of off/on
I export the form data to XML and push it to database and it needs 1 and 0.
I need the app setting for both Adobe Acrobat 9 Extended Pro

It is 1/0 by default .....if you drag a checkbox from the object library onto the canvas and you are getting on/off as your default, then you have modified th eobject. You can set the object the way you want (anf property not just binding) and then you can drag the object back onto the Library palette. This will ask you to name it and if you choose the same name it will overwrite the one that is in the library.

if so, check your classpath, it could be that.

Hi, with mix16 pro app, can anyone tell me when you set different audio levels for different tracks, does the app remember the level set the next time you use it? Or does it default to the original setting when you power down after a show? Thanks!

SQL 2005 with database compatibiltiy level set to 80

I am working with a new client transferred to us and they have been having performance issues, particularly with an add-on solution. I have been looking as some of the database settings and noticed that the database compatibility level was set to 80 - SQL 2000 when they are running on SQL 2005 with SAP B1 2007, PL 44. Would having this set to 80 have any impact on performance? Is it suggested to absolutely set the compatibility level to 90?.

As per the SQL Administration guide, you have to choose collation setting of: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS when installing MSSQL 2005 Server.
In order to check what the collation is set to in your server, please run the following query:
select SERVERPROPERTY ('collation')
(This query gets the collation settings of MSSQL Server's System Database "Master")
Expected answer : SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
As MSSQL 2005 Server is already installed with collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_CI_AS, kindly follow the steps below:
Change your server collation to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

No. Oracle only has two transaction isolation levels-- read committed and serializable, along with a read-only transaction option. In all three, the calling procedure will see the changes made by the autonomous transaction (test case below)
Architecturally, though, I would question the wisdom of hiding the results of an autonomous transaction from the caller. If that is goal, I would tend to suspect that you want to call an asynchronous process (i.e. submitting a job that will run in a separate session) rather than doing the work in an asynchronous transaction.

Is isolation level setting(Dirtry Read Options) working fine for DB2?

We are building obiee reports on DB2 OLTP database. As per my understanding if we select the Isolation level as "Dirty Read" it should not lock the tables but. In our case it is locking the tables and causing others(application Users) not to update the data. Please let us know if you have faced the same issue or any solution. Our production migration is stopped because of this issue.

          Just a follow up, I think the isolation level is perhaps being set to REPEATABLE_READ,

Audio level setting for music tracks in dance recital video project

I am editing dance recital using the CD music tracks and editing in the audience clapping, some of the music tracks have lower audio level than others.
I am setting up the audio levels between -3dB (for the lower audio tracks) up to -6dB (for the higher ones) including the audience clapping. I am making the adjustments by listening to the tracks on fixed output volume level.
My question is if the final output (DVD) will have the the same adjusted audio levels I am hearing, or should I just stick to fixed level (-6dB) for all the tracks? If so is -6dB ideal for DVD output?

I normally watch DVDs on different sound system than the TV, however, from your answer I gather you're setting the master level -18 to -20db. If it is so, are you setting the individual tracks below that, and in my case where the audio levels of the original music fluctuate from high to low, would you set them all on the same level or adjust to hear them out the same?

Zoom Level Setting Does not Stay Constant

The zoom level is set at 125 but keeps changing as I go to different screens. It bounces to 150 and I have to cycle it thru 100 and then 125. It will not stay at 125 and I cannot find a solution to the problem. In fact when I ask a HP forum for 'zoom level' I get no responses. Sometimes the screen will be at 150 but the zoom level indicates it is at 125. I unchecked PINCH ZOOM in the mouse setting for Synaptics Touch Pad Device but it had no affect. In Opions, advanced settings I have checked the Reset Zoom Level (but could that be a problem?) This just started after I removed a program that was not working correctly.

zoom level keeps changing as i am typing..hate it sometimes to goes clear down to the lowest level..also i can't set the blinking curser to stop..it disapears when i go to use it..this is my second hp laptop and my other one did the same thing..drives me crazy....
