Hi. I have a report query that begins with a select &report_sort, A.stu_name,...
When I run the query in SQL+ passing in the report_sort parameter, it works. However, when I run my report from my form, the report data is not ordered according to the values entered on the form for report_sort. Does anyone have any ideas? It works fine in other forms/reports that I have, just not this one.

I'm pretty sure the form is correct because if I use the same form for a different report (just change the rpt name being run) then the report sort works. So somehow my report is not seeing the report sort parameter.

Wintertree Spell Checker - activation lexicons

Hi Experts!
My company has purchased the Wintertree Sentry Spelling-Checker Engine Java SDK 5.1 software and the german lexicon. I have installed the tomcat server and implemented the SAP note 1083520. The english lexicon works fine. The department wants the features that the mispelled words are underlined and to switch from english to german and backwards. I am a newbie in programming and do not know how to solve the issues. i have copied the new lexicon in the path \SpellCheck\WEB-INF\classes. The apache server found the 3 lexicons when executing the spell check button. But in the e-mail editor the english dictionary is only available and the words are not underlined.
I am a newbe in programming. Could somebody please tell me how to acivate the second german lexicon, underline mispelled words and to switch between the german and the english lexicon?

Audition 3.0 recording with Lexicon Omega problems

I have used Audition for quite a while with the Lexicon Omega quite flawlessly untill this evening, I sat down to record some things this evening and when I armed the track and pressed record, nothing happened, I saw no audio level coming into the track from the microphone but could hear it through my speakers and see the level lights on the omega working fine. upon further testing, I discovered that I cannot play audio either. I found a posting where someone had had a similar issue with the mac version and it sugessted renaming the audition folder where the settings are kept which I did and it reset all of my settings as expected and it would then work with the built in audio for the computer, I changed the drivers from WDM to the Omega ASIO and the issue reappeared. I uninstalled the Omega drivers and reinstalled them but to no avail! I cannot imagine what is going on with this, I had just used it yesterday and everything was fine! has anyone ever seen an issue likethis or have any suggestions as to what the resolution may possibly be?

If the transport fails (ie, you press play or record and the cursor doesn't move), then for whatever reason, the audio device's driver isn't communicating with Audition. If the transport works, but you can't hear anything, then this means that inputs and outputs on the device aren't allocated to the tracks you are using.
Really, it's the ASIO drivers you should be using - this is the way you will get access to all of the I/O on the Lexicon. When you arm a track to record, you should check in the track's settings that the correct input is showing, otherwise silence is what you will record! So start with Edit> Audio Hardware setup, select ASIO and make sure that all inputs and outputs show for both multitrack and edit views, and then in the individual tracks, select the input and output you want.
If you've done all this and it still doesn't work, report back.

Settings with Lexicon Omega soundcard??

Hey AA fam!!!
I've been trying to learn the producing craft for about a year and a half now. I use FL Studio 8 (with a Lexicon Omega external soundcard) to make my music and I render my wav files into Adobe Audition 3.0 where I do my mixing and mastering; I really enjoy using AA because it is very user friendly. Hence my thread.....
So here is predicament:
While I am in the Multitrack View, I load my wav files in the main tab and everything seems to be fine. I can press play and the audio plays back like normal. Then I start adding effects to the mixer and I find that the more effects I start adding, the worse the audio gets when I hit the playback. I start to get underruns left and right. Sometimes the audio is fine depending on what effects i'm using, but for the most part the audio starts to go haywire.
I have an HP desktop (2 gigs of ram) and I use a Lexicon Omega for my soundcard. I know I don't have the best computer, but i'm pretty sure my cpu isn't my problem. My guess is the audio hardware setup and preferences is off in AA. I also use my external soundcard with FL8 and I don't get this problem at all.
So if anyone who also uses Lexicon Omega (or anyone who has a good idea) can please help me out, I'd truly appreciate it.

Lexicon crashes by launching

Halo, I have a problem with the new version of Lexicon in Snow Leopard 10.6.1 (it was in Snow Leopard 10.6 too). It crashes by starting. Could someone help me? Thank you very much. Jan

I deleted the preferences of Dictionary in the user's order. Then it works again.

Siebel Spell Check : Lexicon Path not found

I am using Spell Check for one of the long field and the spell check is working fine on my local. When I moved the changes to server, I am getting "Spell Checker: Lexicon Path not found(SBL-SPC-00109)" error on clicking on Spell Check button. Could anyone tell me what is the reason for this error and how it can be rectified?

Why won't 'Speakable Items' Work with USB Audio Input Device (Lexicon Lambda)?

I am new to Apple Macs, yay for me!
I really want to use the 'Speakable Items' feature but unfortunately it just won't work with my Lexicon Lambda external USB Audio device.
Now, the Lambda is plugged in and working, and I know this from using the "Diction' feature which works perfectly.
When I go to System Preferences and click on accessibility>'Speakable items' and I turn on speakable items, I notice that under 'microphone' I'm unable to calibrate the microphone for some reason (if that's at all relevant).
I follow the instructions and have been asking 'what time is it?' and nothing happens
Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem, using 10.8.4. I have been using Speakable Items for a long time, but it's not reacting at all anymore. I'm on a Mac Mini and have tried several inputs, that all work with dictation, and are selectable inputs for Speakable Items. Zoom H4N, Apogee Duet and an UAD Apollo. The only problem I can see, aside from something in the OS, would be that I have SoundFlower and WavTap installed. Will try uninstalling them, to see if that helps.

No Signal from Lexicon Omega to Logic Studio

I'm not getting a signal in Logic Studio from my Lexicon Omega. I'm getting output from Logic to the Omega but not input from the Omega to Logic. I went to Preferences/Audio and change the inputs to the Omega but still the meters in Logic don't respond to my speaking into a mic. The meters on the Omega light up and sound comes out my monitors but no signal to Logic. Any help?

If by record enabled the track you mean "clicked the little "R" and made it red", yes I did. The track in Logic says "Input 1" above it and I'm pretty sure that's the Lexicon's input.

No signal from lexicon omega

I have a lexicon omega that I get signal from mic & the other inputs through the unit, but when connected to my macbook [usb] I cannot get anything to come through to record. I currently do not have garage band or other recording software to cross check.
I installed the newest digidesign [7.4.2] core audio drivers, and still no input signal.

there are no osx drivers for omega, the core audio files from digidesign were recomended from a logic pro board I posted having these issues on.

Lexicon Alpha Audio Recording

I am trying to record audio on GarageBand using a microphone through a Lexicon Alpha USB audio interface. To be honest I'm not really sure what I'm doing, my Mac is recognising the audio but when I record on GarageBand and I play it back there is no sound. Any ideas?

Have you selected the interface in GB's audio preferences? Are you recording to a real instrument track? Does the track show an audio waveform after recording?

Try a restart.
If that doesn't fix the problem, shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Lexicon Lambda Audio Interface - newbie question

OK, not strictly a Logic Express question, but I am using a Lexicon lambda audio interface with LE.
I'm new to audio interfaces, having just bought my second synth, so I needed an interface in order to connect both synths to the Mac.
Both synths are stereo (2 quarter-inch outputs), and having played around with the Lexicon I'm forming the opinion that I actually need a 4-input interface, rather than a 2-input, in order to connect both synths in stereo. I was hoping I could use an adapter on the two quarter-inch plugs to convert to a single quarter-inch stereo but I still only get sound through one channel.
Can someone confirm that it is actually a 4-input interface I need?

I 've had a lexicon omega for a while and have tried it in a macbook (osx 10.5) and a mac mini (osx 10.6.2).
The interface works wonderfully for about 10mins and then it stops processing the playback signal. I can only hear sound on the direct.
I've returned the interface to the vendor and they say it's fine. I've contacted lexicon support and they responded: "If the clipping is only heard when the Monitor Mix knob is set to Playback, this may be a problem with your Mac's Core Audio. In this case you may want to contact Apple or try reinstalling the OS".
Since I've tried with 2 different Mac machines, and with different osx versions, i think I can rule out trying to "reinstall the OS".
Do you guys have any idea how I can mend this?

Lexicon Lambda duplex support

I have a Lexicon Lambda USB audio interface. It works fine other than the fact that I can't get it to run in duplex mode. Right now when I record I use the Lambda for getting input from microphones and I use my onboard soundcard to output sound to my monitors. This is not desirable because I can't hear what I'm recording and what I'm recording along to at the same time.

No solution is offered and I am having serious trouble trying to find one myself. My only thought right now is to patch the module responsible for throwing the error so that it handles the way the interfaces are numbered when this particular device is connected to. The only problem is that I have no idea where to start. Do I have to recompile the whole kernel? The snd_usb_audio module? The usb module?
What I am asking for is some pointers on where I might start looking for the source code files so that I can attempt to remedy this problem, although any help will be much appreciated.

I do have an ~/.asoundrc and I have been through that wiki page multiple times before, I couldn't find anything that worked. The error messages I'm getting (from dmesg) seem to be from a lower level than the one which ~/.asoundrc works at. That being said, there are downstream solutions to upstream problems.

Also, in the linux source code, I found out that linux-3.3/drivers/usb/core/config.c prints the error messages that were in the aformentioned post (and that I see too). I have not yet read enough of the code/docs to have the vaugest idea of how a solution might be implemented.

Snow Leopard QT Movie and Lexicon Problems

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard but now I have two problems I was hoping you could help me with :
1) I write music for film, and when I score I send the movie out firewire using ADVC110 to a TV. To get this to work, when I get the .mov file, I open it in QT Pro, then do a save as, select options and save it as a DV movie file. This means it will work out the firewire. However this option seems to have gone in the QT in Snow Leopard? Can anyone tell me how to convert a movie to a DV PAL movie in Snow Leopard with Quit Time?
2) I also have a Lexicon PCM96. When I insert the plugin in Logic, it freezes and I have to force quit. Is anyone else having this problem? It must be something between Logic and the Lexicon plugin as I can get the Lexicon plugin to work on Snow Leopard with Pro-Tools HD and Digital Performer. Any ideas how to get this to work?

Don't know about the QT issue, but a Lexicon rep in another forum mentioned that the PCM96 and Snow Leopard are definitely not getting along well as of yet.
They are aware of the problem and are working on an update, apparently. Unlike SOME large software companies who shall go nameless, Lexicon actually has programmers and reps who take part in public forums and help answer the concerns and questions of professional users. What a concept, huh?
I'm still streaming my PCM96 over firewire on Leopard, so I'm probably not going to upgrade until Lexicon gets this sorted out.
(You may also be interested to know they just introduced a plugin version of the LexPCM verbs at AES New York. Makes me kinda sad to have invested in the hardware, but on the "bright" side, the plug retails for $1800.. which is about the same price I paid for my PCM96).

Lexicon Lambda, Finale 2011, Hiperscribe, MIDI problems

I have a brand new imac. While it recognises my Lexicon Lambda sound card it cannot run hyperscribe function on Finale 2011. I had no problems with a mac book pro or PC wit same midi set-up. Any help?

How is your keyboard connected to the Mac?
Have you checked/changed your cables/connections?

Lexicon Lambda

I'm trying to record my guitar into GarageBand using my Lexicon Lambda USB Interface. I can record the midi input just fine with my keyboard, but I seem to be having trouble figuring out how to record my guitar through the interface. Any suggestions? I really would like to start recording as soon as possible.

Make sure to add a real instrument track
then on the right side of the screen (near the bottom) there is a setting for the input source.
select either Channel1(mono) or Channel2(mono)
if you are using the instrument input on the Lambda it would be Channel1 (mono)
is the guitar signal showing on the Lambda?
