and where i can get it from if so
thanks all Chuck

To correct the error in my name of your download I set out the corrected message:
Hi
I have had a nightmare still unreolved to get your C734dw received today to work wirelssly with OS 10.6.8.
I have tried with your C734x download and Apple's C734_X download to no avail. I have taken the usual steps suchs as repairing permissions, shutting both devices down and restarting etc.  I am used to using my Mac and router with another wireless printer and know how to make the relevant setting. I have followed the Lexmark Wireless Setup Guide for OS 10.5 since there is not reference to 10.6 and in any event any differences are simple to resolve.
The Lexmark printer simply pauses without ever printing.  Is there a soluton please? If not it goes back to the retailer.
Is there no UK support helpline?

  • Trying to get lexmark Z708 printer to work with Snow Leopard

I've just set up a friend's new Mac, using 10.6.4; he's moved from Windows with his Lexmark X708 printer. I can't find any Z708 printing drivers that will work with SnowL - not on the installation 'extras' on the dvd, nor on apple or lexmark's pages (the 708 driver for 10.4 on lexmark's site doesn't work). is there a workaround or do i have to persuade him to fork out yet more for a new printer?

Many posts give minimal information but I think you probably should receive the grand prize.. least info ever delivered in a post.
From your post I know that you installed a time capsule. I have no idea how or to what.
That your printer.. type model connection all unknown now does not work..
Sorry but the crystal ball is totalled and the other black arts of which wireless is perhaps one, is off-limits.
    Minimum info needed.
    What printer?
    Connected how?
Is it still available on the network? Can you ping it?
    Just the facts please.

    Hello xranch1
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    1. Update Snow Leopard using the 10.6.5 Combo Updater.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1324
    2. Delete all the jobs from the Print Cue and try again.
    3. Then if it is still not working download the latest Epson Printer Drivers

  • New printer not working in Snow Leopard

Printer just brought: Canon Pixma MP996
    OS used: Snow Leopard 10.6.2
    Software update: latest
Symptom: printer connect via usb=working, can print, can scan
but if connect it via wifi as and only have the way as a bonjour printer=endless busy stay when print
Downloaded all the update from canon site, no luck:
    1. cups printer driver, 2. ICA driver, 3. ij network tools, 4. mp driver v1 for network, 5. scanner driver, 6. wireless setup assistant
Don't know it's leopard problem or the canon problem.
very upset, buy new printer, latest product in the canon selling line,
very upset, updated the latest software from apple.
    all no luck.

Finally, the canon ijnetwork printer driver was displayed in the add printer dialog.
It appears suddenly today when I try to add the printer today. It's very strange, however, the printer is working now.

  • Recently purchased Sim City 4, wont work on Snow Leopard because it requires 'Rosetta'.

Through research i've discovered Rosetta only works with 10.2.8. Having downloaded the installation of 10.2, i've tried partitioning an SD to install it on, but it wont work. What else can i do? I've searched long & hard to get this game on Mac OS

Ignorance is a sin on this forum punishable by the rants of those seriously ego-maniacal members.
While patience is a virtue, and to give is divine; let's take a deep breath and see if we can understand your problem and deal with a solution.
You want to run Sim City 4 on your modern day Intel Mac.  It was written for the PowerPC G4 era Macs running OS X 10.2.8 or better.  During the TIger-era, OS X 10.4, Apple switched from the PowerPC CPU platform to Intel and in a sweepingly brilliant move, licensed technology that they utilized under the name of Rosetta, to transparently run PowerPC software on Intel Macs.  This transition was successfully completed with few hiccups!
After approximately five years of allowing PPC apps to run in Rosetta (and due to Apple's license to continue to incorporate Rosetta into future versions of OS X expiring), with the introduction of Lion, OS X 10.7, it no longer incorporates Rosetta or the ability to natively run PowerPC applications. Intel Tiger and Leopard versions of OS X automatically install Rosetta, but in Snow Leopard it is an optional install.
Your best bet at this point is: insert the Snow Leopard Install DVD, go to Options and select and install Rosetta.
While I am not sure if Sim City 4 will run on Snow Leopard, I did find this caution in Wikipedia:
    Intel Macintoshes
The game has major flaws when operating on computers by Apple using Intel processors. Aspyr released a beta of a patch to fix the problems in 2007, but the patch was never finalized and many bugs remain. Some have a serious impact on playability,[19] including frequent crashes if a city exceeds 95,000 population, flawed display of the water surface, frequent blurring or replacement of objects with random other objects, and an inability to significantly accelerate the vehicle in driving mode that prevents many gameplay features from being unlocked.
    Good luck!

  • Old Appletalk Printer Stopped Working With Snow Leopard

My old Apple 630 Pro Printer, which is connected to one of the Ethernet ports of my Time Capsule station, used to work perfectly through Appletalk... till I installed Snow Leopard. No more Appletalk in Snow Leopard, the printer is gone.
If I could find the IP address of the printer, I could probably add it this way. Does somebody know how to find the IP address of anything attached to the Station through Ethernet?
I know that this one is not easy, and thanks in advance for any info!

  • Need printer driver (HP printer) to work with Snow Leopard:

My Imac came with Tiger, and I recently had it upgraged (by Apple professionals) to Snow Leopard, but I need a printer driver for my HP Business Inkjet 1200. I got no help from HP. Any suggestions? (And I don't speak "computer-ese" so please spell it out in easy steps for this dinosaur. Thanks!)

probably my misuse of 'best' - by 'best' I meant one that actually operates properly with full functionality.
I have been using HP for a while and always find that there is one little bit of the app that does not work with Mac and in the past HP have always said 'oh well we don't design for Mac'.
What I want to know is, what works properly ?

  • Booklet Printing not working in Snow Leopard

    Question re: Booklet Printing
I was trying to print something as a booklet this morning, and was very pleasantly surprised to find that the ability is apparently built in to Snow Leopard, (available in the print dialog where you can choose page layout or paper handling, etc.). But, all of the options are grayed out, and I can't check the check box to make it turn on. I tried using the feature through Word, Pages and The Hit List. Is there a magic incantation to turn the setting on that I don't know about? Or is this feature not working in 10.6?
I'm running the latest patch of 10.6, on an intel iMac.
    Thanks

This isn't quite correct! The 'booklet printing' facility was present (and worked - I've just checked it!) in Leopard (10.5); but, as with some other useful functionality, was lost on installing Snow Leopard (10.6).
I suspect that it is a print driver function and that (since I'm using an HP laserjet) it will be up to HP as to when, or even if, they choose to reinstate this very useful function.
Come on HP: let's have it please!

  • Page Range Printing Not Working In Snow Leopard

I am trying to print multiple pages from the Help menu>User Manual...Selecting a range of pages to print using Reader 9.3.2 and Snow Leopard does not work. I can see the printer briefly accepting data, but no printing occurs. Reader works fine with other PDF documents.
