Lexmark printer - "unable to read CUPS raster data" message

I have been using my Lexmark z2320 printer for about a year with my macbook pro, with no issues. However, since yesterday I have been getting the "unable to read CUPS raster data" error message, and can not print.
I am using 10.6.2 osx.
I have tried re-installing the drivers, and downloading new drivers from the website, but all to no avail.
I noticed some similar posts, but could not find a clear resolution.
THank you.

hi. Thanks for the response and apologies for the delay - I am new to this, and was expecting an email alert when somebody had responded.
I downloaded the update, and I now get the message:
+Color table is missing. You must uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
How should I proceed?

    I can't seem to print a doc anymore. I keep getting the above message. This is with a Lexmark X4550 printer/scanner. I'm just (at the moment) trying to print an e-mail message (from Thunderbird) out. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I had this today too - Lexmark has drivers that sometimes hang. Go into activities monitor, you'll probably see a Lexmark process eating up tons of CPU cycles. Force quit it, and try again. Let me know if that works for you - it did for me!

  • Labels printing : "unable to read format"

    Hello
    I have configured a Printronix Label printer as a network printer (Acess Method U).
    Communication test is successfull
    But when I execute a printout I have the following message:
    =========================
    Print request processing log
    Errors occurred processing this print request
    Unable to read format ZDINA6. l_rc = 1
    There may be no printout
    =========================
    Despite format ZDINA6 is properly associated to the Device Type (ZPTXASC4) of the printer.
    Inizialization commands are all empty, as suggested by Printronix Manual
    What am I missing?
    Thank you!

    Thanks David and Lokeswara for your answers.
    Oss did not help actually: I also tried with Postscript type, instead of STDN II, but did not succeed.
    As to ZDINA6 format: it is in use in their old system, same labels, same configuration; a part from the access method, because they currently have a Win NT print server in between that the new system does not contemplate.
    Still a mistery, at least to me..
    Thank you for now

  • DG4ODBC on Windows Oracle 11.1 unable to read SQL_WCHAR ( Unicode ) data ?

    I have setup two databases on Windows that can be access by ODBC. Both database contain the following table :-
    create table test1 ( col1 varchar(10) );
    insert into test1 values ('ABCDEF');
    The first database returns columns as a SQL_CHAR and the second returns data as SQL_WCHAR.
    In SQLPlus the first database works just fine ‘ABCEDF’. The second gives ‘``````’ a single ` character for every character in the field.
    As far as I can see DG4ODBC is reading SQL_WCHAR's as UTF8 characters. Can any one confirm this and is there a way to get round the problem ?
    I have tried various HS_LANGUAGE, HS_NLS_NCHAR settings already but to no avail.

    Why does it return an SQL_WCHAR is not the issue.
    The issue is why doesn't it convert it correctly when other applications do. I am almost convinced the issue will be down to the character mapping but I'm not 100% sure where or how to set it ( HS_NLS_NCHAR or possibly HS_FDS_MAP_NCHAR ? ) . The other application I used were not configurable in terms character

  • Why I am unable to read/write thermocouple data using FIFO

    I like get data using 9213 module. I used example VI for this. And to get the data according to my desired samling rate, I used FIFO.
    The problem is, if I use FIFO, I do not get any data when run the real time VI.
    But, if I like to get data using cluster, then it is OK.
    Also, can you tell me why the error comes when I use FIFO and run the program?
    My sampling desired rate is 1200 sample/sec. I like to acquire data for 30 seconds after the trigger.

    Good Afternoon,
    I would suggest lowering the number of elements into the invoke node in your real time VI.  You only need the number fo samples times the sampling rate for the number of elements input.  Hope this helps!

  • Sql loader unable to read from pipe

    Hi All:
    I'm using named pipe along with Oracle SQL*Loader to load some 20 millions rows into database.
    The source of the pipe is from a Java application which write to the pipe using simple FileOutputStream.
    It can be observed that the Oracle SQL*Loader need to wait a lot on the Java application to produce enough data for loading.
    The waiting is fine. However, the Oracle SQL*Loader always exist after loading about 1 million rows with output like:
    SQL*Loader-501: Unable to read file (upipe.dat)
    SQL*Loader-560: error reading file
    SQL*Loader-2026: the load was aborted because SQL Loader cannot continue.
    And in this case, the Java will throw IOException with information:
    Exception in thread "main" java.io.IOException: Broken pipe
    at java.io.FileOutputStream.writeBytes(Native Method)
    at java.io.FileOutputStream.write(FileOutputStream.java:284)
    It runs on Linux environment with 11g database.
    Any idea why this will happen?

    ii.Is the payslip programme RPCETD00 unable to read the arcfived data?
    iii.Can archived data be read from the clusters?
    Thanks and Regards
    Aniket C

    Hallo Aniket,
    My experience is that you can read archived data from transaction pc_payresult
    Also H99CWTR0 report can retrieve archived data.
    However, I am looking for a payslip report that can retrieve archived data. I have not found it yet.

  • Can't print from Adobe Reader X

    Whenever I try to print from Adobe Reader I get the message "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close." The error signature is:
    AppName: acrord32.exe
    AppVer: 10.1.2.45
    ModName: acrord32.exe
    ModVer: 10.1.2.45
    Offset: 0005e985
    It does not matter if a PDF file ois on the web and it opens as a web page or if I open a file that is alreadty on my comuter.
    I tested printing from an older version of Adobe Reader and it does not create a problem (that version is coming up when I download files that
    are on my Cloud server.
    What is the solution, if any?

    Kindly try the workaround available at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html and this should help resolve the problem

  • PI 7.3 - AEX "unable to read configuration data" and login problems

    Hello Friends,
    after installation of AEX, i'm facing some problems.
    1.I'm not able to login with any user, i created during installation wizard. So i cannot check any user in NWA -> User Administration.
    2.Once more, while opening http://<host>:<port>/rep or http://<host>:<port>/dir, i get the following error message.
    Can somebody help me?
    I think, there is a problem with the users, which have been created during installation. How can i check this? Is there any chance?
    Second, if i'm able to login, i have to import the exchange profile again. This should solve the problem. Or is this wrong?

  • TcpListener not working on Azure: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

    Hi Everybody,
    i'm playing a little bit with Windows Azure and I'm blocked with a really simple issue (or maybe not).
    I've created a Cloud Service containing one simple Worker Role. I've configured an EndPoint in the WorkerRole configuration, which allows Input connections via tcp on port 10100.
    Here the ServiceDefinition.csdef file content:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ServiceDefinition name="EmacCloudService" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ServiceHosting/2008/10/ServiceDefinition" schemaVersion="2014-01.2.3">
    <WorkerRole name="TcpListenerWorkerRole" vmsize="Small">
    <Imports>
    <Import moduleName="Diagnostics" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteAccess" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteForwarder" />
    </Imports>
    <Endpoints>
    <InputEndpoint name="Endpoint1" protocol="tcp" port="10100" />
    </Endpoints>
    </WorkerRole>
    </ServiceDefinition>
    This WorkerRole is just creating a TcpListener object listening to the configured port (using the RoleEnvironment instance) and waits for an incoming connection. It receives a message and returns a hardcoded message (see code snippet below).
    namespace TcpListenerWorkerRole
    using System;
    using System.Net;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime;
    using System.Net.Sockets;
    using System.Text;
    using Roche.Emac.Infrastructure;
    using System.IO;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Diagnostics;
    using System.Linq;
    public class WorkerRole : RoleEntryPoint
    public override void Run()
    // This is a sample worker implementation. Replace with your logic.
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("TcpListenerWorkerRole entry point called");
    TcpListener listener = null;
    try
    listener = new TcpListener(RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint);
    listener.ExclusiveAddressUse = false;
    listener.Start();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("TcpListener started at '{0}:{1}'", RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Address, RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Port));
    catch (SocketException ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while creating the TcpListener", ex);
    return;
    while (true)
    Task.Run(async () =>
    TcpClient client = await listener.AcceptTcpClientAsync();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("Client connected. Address='{0}'", client.Client.RemoteEndPoint.ToString()));
    NetworkStream networkStream = client.GetStream();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(networkStream);
    StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(networkStream);
    writer.AutoFlush = true;
    string input = string.Empty;
    while (true)
    try
    char[] receivedChars = new char[client.ReceiveBufferSize];
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("Buffer size: " + client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    int readedChars = reader.Read(receivedChars, 0, client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    char[] validChars = new char[readedChars];
    Array.ConstrainedCopy(receivedChars, 0, validChars, 0, readedChars);
    input = new string(validChars);
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("This is what the host sent to you: " + input+". Readed chars=" + readedChars);
    try
    string orderResultFormat = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\xB")) + @"MSH|^~\&|Instrument|Laboratory|LIS|LIS Facility|20120427123212+0100||ORL^O34^ORL_O34| 11|P|2.5.1||||||UNICODE UTF-8|||LAB-28^IHE" + Environment.NewLine + "MSA|AA|10" + Environment.NewLine + @"PID|||patientId||""""||19700101|M" + Environment.NewLine + "SPM|1|sampleId&ROCHE||ORH^^HL70487|||||||P^^HL70369" + Environment.NewLine + "SAC|||sampleId" + Environment.NewLine + "ORC|OK|orderId|||SC||||20120427123212" + Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\x1c\x0d"));
    writer.Write(orderResultFormat);
    catch (Exception e)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while writting the response", e);
    client.Close();
    break;
    catch (Exception ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while Reading the request", ex);
    client.Close();
    break;
    }).Wait();
    public override bool OnStart()
    // Set the maximum number of concurrent connections
    ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 12;
    DiagnosticMonitor.Start("Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString");
    RoleEnvironment.Changing += RoleEnvironment_Changing;
    return base.OnStart();
    private void RoleEnvironment_Changing(object sender, RoleEnvironmentChangingEventArgs e)
    // If a configuration setting is changing
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("RoleEnvironment is changing....");
    if (e.Changes.Any(change => change is RoleEnvironmentConfigurationSettingChange))
    // Set e.Cancel to true to restart this role instance
    e.Cancel = true;
    As you can see, nothing special is being done. I've used the RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints to retrieve the current IPEndpoint.
    Running the Cloud Service in the Windows Azure Compute Emulator everything works fine, but when I deploy it in Azure, then I receive the following Exception:
    2014-08-06 14:55:23,816 [Role Start Thread] INFO EMAC Log - TcpListenerWorkerRole entry point called

    I've already tried to configure an internal port in the ServiceDefinition.csdef file, but I get the same exception there.
    As you can see, the client can connect to the service (the log shows the message: Client connected with the address) but when it tries to read the bytes from the stream, it throws the exception.
    For me it seems like Azure is preventing the retrieval of the message. I've tried to disable the Firewall in the VM in Azure and the same continues happening.
    I'm using Windows Azure SDK 2.3
    Any help will be very very welcome!
    Thanks in advance!

    hi Javier,
    I changed your code like this:
    private AutoResetEvent connectionWaitHandle = new AutoResetEvent(false);
    public override void Run()
    TcpListener listener = null;
    try
    listener = new TcpListener(
    RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint"].IPEndpoint);
    listener.ExclusiveAddressUse = false;
    listener.Start();
    catch (SocketException se)
    return;
    while (true)
    IAsyncResult result = listener.BeginAcceptTcpClient(HandleAsyncConnection, listener);
    connectionWaitHandle.WaitOne();
    The HandleAsync method is your "While (true)" code:
    private void HandleAsyncConnection(IAsyncResult result)
    TcpListener listener = (TcpListener)result.AsyncState;
    TcpClient client = listener.EndAcceptTcpClient(result);
    connectionWaitHandle.Set();
    NetworkStream netStream = client.GetStream();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(netStream);
    StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(netStream);
    writer.AutoFlush = true;
    string input = string.Empty;
    try
    char[] receivedChars = new char[client.ReceiveBufferSize];
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("Buffer size: " + client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    int readedChars = reader.Read(receivedChars, 0, client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    char[] validChars = new char[readedChars];
    Array.ConstrainedCopy(receivedChars, 0, validChars, 0, readedChars);
    input = new string(validChars);
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("This is what the host sent to you: " + input + ". Readed chars=" + readedChars);
    try
    string orderResultFormat = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\xB")) + @"MSH|^~\&|Instrument|Laboratory|LIS|LIS Facility|20120427123212+0100||ORL^O34^ORL_O34| 11|P|2.5.1||||||UNICODE UTF-8|||LAB-28^IHE" + Environment.NewLine + "MSA|AA|10" + Environment.NewLine + @"PID|||patientId||""""||19700101|M" + Environment.NewLine + "SPM|1|sampleId&ROCHE||ORH^^HL70487|||||||P^^HL70369" + Environment.NewLine + "SAC|||sampleId" + Environment.NewLine + "ORC|OK|orderId|||SC||||20120427123212" + Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\x1c\x0d"));
    writer.Write(orderResultFormat);
    catch (Exception e)
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while writting the response", e);
    client.Close();
    catch (Exception ex)
    //LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while Reading the request", ex);
    client.Close();
    Please try it. For this error message, I suggest you could refer to this thread (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6173763/using-windows-azure-to-use-as-a-tcp-server

  • Unable to read data from Analog Devices 6b11 module - error code 1240

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to read data from a thermocouple with an AD 6B11 module in an AD 6BP16-1 backplane using RS232 serial. I've been following this guide:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8C77E5E52B4A27968625611600559421
    Everything seems to work out well until step 13, where I call the "AD6B Input Module - Read Data.VI". I get an error code 1240 stating something like "invalid parameter or unable to read instrument".
    Has anyone got any experience with this error or suggestions to fixing it?
    Thanks in advance!

    That user guide is 20+ years old. The serial functions from that day used 0 for com 1, 1 for com 2, etc. Make sure you have the correct one selected. Please provide the exact error message instead of 'something like'.
