Lexmark z22 not printing, but test prints ok..???

I have an old lexmark z22, os 10.4 9, I sww the printer, I can print test pages and all, but when I print, it shows me that its printing in the status window, then it stops. Shows the job as complete even thought the printer did nothing. find this weired because I see the printer and it does print test pages...?? Any ideas... thanks

Since the spool queue is stopping, this may be due to the 10.4.9 update. Try running a Repair Disk Permissions first of all. This is often all that is required.
If this doesn't help, download the 10.4.9 Combo update and run this. It can help replace missing files.
If that doesn't help then download a copy of Fixmac's Printer Setup Repair. It may identify what is causing the spooler to stop.

  • HELP! Lexmark 5470 not print. Printer has not been added to the utility.

Hello, I recently acquired my new MB pro and I was trying to print a normal document. I used my Lexmark 5470 installation software and everything seemed fine until I actually tried to print something. It is not a new printer, I use it everyday with my PC.
After the installation, I was able run the functions of cleaning the ink and of putting the page in line, but not the "print a sample page" function. It said that the printer had not been added to the printer's utility. I checked again and i chose the driver from a list where there were 3 different options for the 5400 series. None of them worked. I downloaded the drivers from Lexmark. Did not make any difference. I unninstalled and reinstalled from the lexmark printer's cd. No difference.
I've looked everywhere and don't seem to find any particular errors from my part. The printer works fine with my Vaio laptop on windows XP.
    Any suggestions?

Driver for 5470 is bundled with the Mac OS X 10.5 DVD. Do not use the drivers available from the web or from the CD installer that came with your printer.
Since you have already installed your printer, uninstall it, reset printing system (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301185) and reinstall.
Instructions for installing the bundled driver are in http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,2048165961160493508_0en,00.html
Let me know how it goes.

  • Upgraded to OS X 10.6.4, now lexmark E232 will not print thru airport

Upgraded to 10.6.4. Updated airport software 7.4.2. Lexmark will not print thru Airport. Will print direct via USB.
Airport utility suggests/shows that it's set up properly, Printer shows up in print & fax preferences. Only differences since yesterday are the software updates.

Welcome to the discussion area, bseidenstat!
This has worked for me in the same situation, but with a different printer. Can't say if it will work for you, but might be worth a try to reset the printing system if all else has failed (and you haven't already tried this)
Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme
Open System Preferences, then open Print & Fax
Control-click or right-click in the printers box on the left, choose "Reset printing system" and click OK
Click the + (plus) button to add your printer again

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.  I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer.  After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
    OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router).  All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues:  2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans.  Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop.  What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer.  ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end.  And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up.  I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed.  Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
    Help?
Addendum:  I can scan using HP Printer Assistance.  I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.

  • LaserJet Pro Scans, prints test page but will not print from a file

I installed a LaserJet Pro200 MFP M276nw on my wife's Toshiba Satellite (Windows 7 64Bit OS) laptop yesterday (Printer is brand new out of the box). I installed with a wireless connection. It will print a test page and also scan wirelessly but will not print from a file i.e. a PDF. I installed it on my HP Probook this morning and it works fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The thought of paying Geek Squad 75 bucks rubs me the wrong way, especially since i just paid them 100 for an extended warranty. Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Forums JBottensek,
I see by your post that the printer won't print a PDF document from the one computer.
I can help you with this issue.
I have provided a document to go through the steps which should resolve this issue for not being able to print PDF documents. Cannot Print PDFs from Adobe Reader.
If you need further assistance, let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • HP C6150 All-In-One Will Not Print Black Text But Does Partial Test Print

Hi.  Thanks in advance for any help anyone can proffer.
I've read through the forum and I think there are some similar issues, but none exactly the same as ours.
This HP C6150 does print pictures, but suddenly stopped printing black text.
HOWEVER, the test prints will print in black with the Windows Logo, but will not print any associated text.
Odd.  It just suddenly stopped printing.
    Variables:
C6150 All in One - No other problems for two years.
Using refilled ink cartridges from outside source. (not my decision)
Ink is full.  No other changes made in last three days.
    Troubleshooting Steps:
Uninstalled and then re-installed software in entirety.
Put in 'new' (refilled) cartridge for black and magenta.
Tried (not sure if successful) soft reset.
Tried cleaning the print cartridge with 'Q-Tip' and distilled water.
Have not yet spent money on new OEM print cartridges.  That is next step unless other suggestions merit.
    Possibilities:
It may be the refilled cartridges, but they've worked so well in the past.
The cartridge prior to the recent replacement was working fine and was not yet out of ink.
The print head might be damaged.  But this should/would affect all black printing and this is not the case.
Were the driver corrupt, the reinstall should have fixed it ... you'd think.
So, we're looking for some suggestions prior to going out and getting a new printer.
Thanks again, in advance, for constructive non-judgmental suggestions.
    MackNC

The likely cause is the black ink is not printing at all.  When printing graphics (like the Windows Test Page) black is made from mixing the color ink.  I would suggest printing an internal diagnostic test page as shown in this page.  Does the black block print?  If not then clean the printheads as described here.

  • My 6310 All in One will print a test page but will not print from Publisher, Notepad, etc. WTH?

My HP 6310 will print a test page fine, but will not print from Publisher, Notepad, etc. It goes thru the motions, but the image printed is almost not there. I have new ink cartridges in it. I have adjusted the print settings. STILL won't print properly. WTH???

Hm, okay, thanks for getting back to me again!
Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer and test print again.

  • Lexmark printer x1150 does not print

Hi, i recently got a new macbook. When i try to print the computer recognizes the printer as a lexmark x1100 (my printer is a lexmark x1150), however if i press print, the computer tells me that the printer is not responding. I downloaded the driver and it still does not work. The funny part is that when i did a test-print to calibrate my cartriges, the printer actually worked, but when is a picture or a word documents it does not work. when i scan it also works, so th only problem is when i print.
    Thanks

The Lexmark driver for that printer is not a universal binary. In order to install it you must force the Printer Setup Utility to open in Rosetta. Select the PSU icon then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. You will see a checkbox labeled "Open in Rosetta." Check the box and close the window. Now run PSU and you should be able to install the driver properly.
As a precaution I suggest that before the above you open PSU and reset the printing system to clear the caches and remove any improperly installed driver.

  • [Solved]"foomatic-rip" for printer "Z22" not available

I found CUPS drivers for the lexmark Z22 here: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_print … exmark-Z22 and I installed the printer successfully but I get this in the status field: "Paused: Filter "foomatic-rip" for printer "Z22" not available: No such file or directory". I checked AUR and there's no foomatic-rip package.

    Hello @ Averus89,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you have done quite a lot to resolve your M176n and its connection to the ePrint service.
I would like to help you with this issue.
If the printer is not printing the web services info sheet, or allowing you to add it to HP Connected, I
    would set a manual DNS.
I wont go into great detail about setting this up. From your post, I feel you know your way around the printer and your network. If I am mistaken, let me know. I will go into detail.
    The DNS to try is:
    Primary: 209.244.0.3
    Secondary: 209.244.0.4
Set the DNS then try printing the web services info page again.
Let me know if this helps.

  • HP Officejet 4360 e-All-in-One Series - Will scan but will not print

So I have installed my new wireless printer and it will scan, both on USB and wireless, but it will not print. During the install process, at the very end of step 3, it says that it can't find an internet connection then prompts to copy a URL for completion of install online. The link takes me through the same install process.
When trying to print there is an error that says that it will not print due to a problem with the current printing setup. HP Print and Scan doctor lists all ok. The internal print test page works but the test page doesn't. It then prompts reinstall. So far I have tried:
    Reinstalling
    Reinstalling after running disk cleanup
Reinstalling after with firewall turned off
Changing to a standard TCP/IP port
The problem is the same whether on USB connect or wireless.
I am about to throw this thing out the window. Any ideas to save its life?

    Hi @gesus,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you can scan but not print with your HP Officejet 4630, on Windows Vista. I am happy to look into this printing issue for you!
Are you able to make copies? Copy Text or Mixed Documents.
In the meantime, I would recommend to go through this guide, 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print: Windows Vista.
Let's start with that guide, and we will go from there!

  • New Ink Cartridge but can not print out/copy any document.

I have HP Printer Deskjet 1050. I've just bought 1 x Original HP Ink Cartridge Colour Black No.61 that can be used as well for my HP Deskjet 1050 (because I could't get No.802 Black Cartridge). I have pulled out the empty one and pushed the new one in until I heard snap sound (I've followed as what is in the instruction poster). Before my old Ink was empty, I was able to print either black or colour. Now, after I've got new one pushed in, I couldn't print nothing, even the alignment page doesn't automatically print out after all cartridges are pushed in and cartridge door was closed. My Black Ink warning light is blinking all the time. I can scan to my computer/laptop but can not print it out or make copy from the printer. This printer is not compatible for my laptop with OS Windows 8.1 (64-bit), but I was able to use my printer for printing thru my laptop by using HP AiO Printer Remote. Please help?

    Hi @KroebY,
Welcome to the HP support Forums! I see you have replaced the black cartridge on your HP Deskjet 1010, but it is not registering the new cartridge. You are unable to copy or print, you can make a scan.
