LG Cosmos 2 constantly in "call state" and "data session"

I have had my LG Cosmos 2 for a little over a year, and starting this summer my battery began losing life and I noticed  that two icons were constantly on my home screen, "In Call State" and "Data Session" I called Verizon several times and ended up resetting my phone entirely. This ended the problem for a while, but over the last two weeks it has been happening again. Now my battery doesn't last a day, I lose calls, and I am annoyed!
I have data blocked from my plan because I don't use the phone for anything accept for texting and phone calling. I have also attempted to restart my phone, take battery out, update software and roaming capabilities...nothing works. Please Help!!

    Sorry about the trouble with your battery  vzineedhelp & 0asis. SuzyQ did have some helpful suggestions, but I have an idea on what may be the cause to these ghost data and voice sessions. If you have a data block on your account but at some point previously enabled features on your phone like Backup Assistant or Daily Scoop. These programs will attempt to run in the background and may sometimes even seem to wake your phone up without you touching the device because it's trying to (unsuccessfully with the data block in place) connect to data.
You can turn off Daily scoop messages by simply removing the Data Block by logging into www.vzw.com/spamcontrols and selecting "Manage Service Blocks" then following the steps below:
Launch Daily Scoop (Media Center > Daily Scoop)
Select Menu > Options > Verizon Msgs
Choose 'Off' and 'Save'.
Repeat the same procedure for Menu > Options > Bonus Msgs
Backup Assistant is a little trickier since it's pre-installed on the Cosmos. So if it's been set up or the activation was attempted and is trying to communicate with the network, follow the steps at http://bit.ly/Tf0lIo to reset Backup Assistant while the block is in place.
Once you've ended the Daily Scoop messages and reset Backup Assistant, log back into www.vzw.com/spamcontrols and re-add your data block if you'd like to continue it.

  • HT1937 My new 5c is activated with Verizon - I can send receive calls, txts, and data (internet). My problem is that the 5c keeps giving me pop up warnings that the phone is not activated.  This is also preventing me from using the vmail

    5c is activated and live on Verizon. Call, txts, and data.  Issue is that 5c thinks that is is NOT activated - keeping getting pop up warnings.  Operationally this prevents me from using v-mail via iPhone app - i need to dial Verizon directly.  This phone is new and activated yesterday. Any ideas?

    Contact Verizon to troubleshoot the issue with them.

    deals, how I can make the confirmed deal encrypted based on a server
    generated key or the session id that client application provides
    2. Now, I have 3 webservices: update, deal and confirm, each of them has a
    client.jar file available - from the client application point of view, do I
    need all these 3 client.jar, or I just need one of them ?????

  • If statements and date ranges... Anyone know what to do? (Long Question)

    Hi everybody - kinda new here. I was hired at a web design company last year and have recently taken to learning ColdFusion - so I'm not 100% on the syntax. I always need help with if statements, so I'm hoping you guys will be willing to spread some knowledge.
    Anyway to put this in context:
    What I'm working on is a Calendar that allows you to register to attend an event, such as a corporate dinner, holiday party, or some such nonsense. It also processes ticket purchases through a 3rd party such as PayPal, and would look something like this when put on a web-page.
    Here's the code that creates that display.

    All the code says at the moment is to display events whose price is positive, or else list them as free.
    Here is what I want - I want to make it so that the May 30th Late Registration will automatically be hidden if the date is BEFORE or AFTER May 30th.
    I have assigned values to the registration types that I want to restrict by date...
    They are registration_types.estStartDate and registration_types.estEndDate
    AND the value that designates it as Restricted, registration_types.estRestricted - which would be used like this.

  • Synonyms on call? and Dates (iWork 06)

    is there an easy way go get Synonyms or a Thesaurus in pages?
    I like editing in pages but in Mac word all you have to do is right click and there are a list of Synonyms and when clicked on insert instead of the current word.
    Is this option available in pages instead of trawling through dictionaries of key commands then command v & command c ETC?
    Also how do you get the little th to appear after a date is entered?

    If you go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard shortcuts, you can add a shortcut for an application. You must select Pages as the application, then type in the exact name of the menu command (Look Up in Dictionary and Thesaurus). Then you can type in a shortcut of choice. I used shift+F7, which is the shortcut in Word.

    I've talked to support, and this is supposedly a problem with Oracle not recognizing the library path. It is supposed to be fixed in 8.1.7.1.

  • Apps are in "waiting" state and battery always reads 100%

    After ios5 upgrade, many apps are constantly in "waiting" state and cannot be accessed.
    Also, battery indicator us stuck at 100%.

    Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
    Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

    I have had unlimited calls to the United States and Canada for years and have faithfully paid my premiums.
    I would like to know why I cannot make a call to a Canada phone number? Have you changed the way it is done? If so I would be so appreciative of being notified and shown how.

    I am working to create and test an integration to Cisco ICM 8.5 connected to an Aspect Unified IP CTI interface.   The solution will recieve agent and call events from Unified IP and consume them to understand the state of activity and available agents for the purpose of ICM making inbound call routing decisions.
    To facilitate testing I would like to know how to (or if I can) access a real time report that reflects the agent and call states based on the events recieved from Unified IP.

  • CAD Real Time Stats show NA for agent state and call log

    Hello
    For our lab uccx, the agent/users CAD display shows NA for the agent state and call log.  I have
    Not Ready and Log out codes set and have the testers do those actions to generate data.
    I have rebooted the server and have also checked the services page and confirmed
    all the services are running.
    I went through the admin guide to see if I missed any configuration but does not appear so.
    I tried launching the real time stats tool from the UCCX Admin and it launches OK
    but I noticed that it shows not connected.
    Note this is over a VPN to the UCCX.
    So not sure if this is related.  I checked the relase notes and this is the base install
    of UCCX 8.5.  I am going to install the service updates but wanted to see if I can
    get this running before I schedule a maint window to do the upgrades.

    you might be facing an issue where " uccxcaduser password" gets corrupted , which leads to the issue you are facing right now
    you have to contact TAC to reset that password for you and your issue will be fixed ,100%

  • My Curve 9360 is constantly disconnecting calls and freezing up

    It will disconnect when I try making calls or when I am on a call, even when I gave 4-5 bars. I had to resort to finding a landline to finish what should have been a 2 minute call.  And it freezes up. I have to remove the battery to get it to work again. I haven't had the phone 2 months yet! There has been no water damage at all. I am at my wits end!  Help, please!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.
    You may also need the use of these tricks:

  • Just purchad Ipad2 64GB   3G, box does not state which carrier it is set up for.  I called apple and they weren't much help, except to tell me it is not "carrier specific."  I thought all Ipads were either Verizon or AT

    I just purchased Ipad2 64GB + 3G.  It does not stae on the box, whether this is for AT&T or Verizon.  I called Apple, and was told that it is not "carrier specific."  Was told that I should return, and get one that is set up for one or the other.  Are there any advantages to not having a specific carrier?  If I keep this one, how do I get 3G service, will it be offered directly from the Ipad like with the carrier specific ones? These are all questions Apple couldn't or wouldn't answer for me.  Thanks for any help!

    Whoever you spoke to was wrong or misunderstood the question. The iPad is most definitely carrier-specific when it comes to Verizon vs. AT&T. The Verizon model is specific to the CDMA network Verizon uses, and will work with only Verizon. The AT&T model is a GSM, technology used by many carriers around the world, so in that sense the "AT&T" model is not carrier-specific. A Verizon model will not work with AT&T and vice-versa, so you do need to have the iPad model for the carrier you wish to use.
    I believe the Verizon model will say either "Verizon" or "CDMA" on the box, so if yours doesn't, you probably have the GSM/AT&T model, but I'm not certain. Perhaps someone else here can confirm.

    but the call of statement.execute("temptest") throw a exception
    the error message is:"java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement"
    then, I write the same procedure in sql server.
    all things work right.( I use jdbc-odbc bridge connect to sql server database)
    who can tell me what's the reason?

    Instead of a Statement object, use a CallableStatement. CallableStatement is the JDBC wrapper for a stored proc. JDBC requires that the vendor specific call be wrapped in a {CALL ....}.
    So, your code would look like the following:
    Connection con = some connection;
    CallableStatement cs = con.prepareCall("{CALL temptest}");
    cs.execute();
    Take a look at the Javadoc. You can set both IN and OUT parameters using a CallableStatement.
