LG Cosmos 2 vn251 Battery life, charge seems not to last.  Why?

I just got this phone about 3 weeks ago.  It needs to be recharged about every day and a half, sometimes less.  It also seems to discharge very rapidly sometimes when only two bars are left.  I am a very light user--2 or 3 short calls a day, maybe 2 calls a week of more than 5 minutes.  Seldom text more than 2-3 times a day, and receive same number.  Nothing else--no web, email, photos, apps, except contact backup program.  All my display settings are short--set at 7 seconds.
I think the battery is no good.  My previous LG phone, the earlier one, held a charge for 3-4 days.
I also always turn my phone off at night so it is never on more than 15 hours a day and mostly it is doing nothing.  I want the thing to keep in touch with my spouse and for emergencies and occasional texts.
Is this what everyone else is seeing?  The Verizon store people checked it out this morning and said it looked okay.  They also told me the battery life was supposed to be 370 minutes if used continuously and some huge number of hours if on standby--way more than a week.  I am not getting that.
What advice does anyone have on this, especially if there is a Verizon tech following these discussion.
Thank you.

My husband and I purchased our  cosmos 2 phones  just over a year ago.   He has 2 OEM LG batteries for his cosmos 2 phone now and neither hold a charge past 6 hours.  He rarely talks on the phone and it's always on standby.  He doesn'y surf the net, barely text, and dont' use it for anything other than placing a call.
I called Verizon CS about this, and of course they are more than happy to sell me another phone, but will not cut him some slack and send me a new phone with the ongoing issues they know about and are trying to hide.
He is  out of warranty by just 2 weeks.
Verizon knows they have a problem with the cosmos 2 cell not holding a charge.
This is my first experience with Verizon, and my Husband and I are not impressed.   We thought Sprint was bad.  At least their phones lasted a few years without problems.

Does anyone know what's up with the iPhone 4s' battery life? Some days it last a long time and other days it drains extremely fast.

Not to point out the obvious, but battery life depends very much on what is running and how much the device is being used.
If the battery lasts longer on a day you make no phone calls, but lasts less the day you make 5 hour long calls, this is to be expected.
If however the iPhone has the same level of use on both days, with different power consumption, this would infer a background process (or App) is trying to do something (connecting to server or creating a back up etc).
I switched off all thrid party apps from being included in my iCloud backup, which saves a huge amount of space on the cloud and allows the back up to take barely a couple of minutes.
Battery life seems ok so far on my 64GB 4S (Bluetooth on, Wi-Fi on, Location Services on, Push notifications on, Screen set to just under half brightness with Auto Adjust on)

Your battery has reached the end of its life. If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

  • Battery Life- SHORT: Issue within the last 5 days

My phone would stay charged for a full day or even 2. In the last 5 days, my phone keeps going dead after being charged to 100%. After about 6 hours its completely dead. I have not recently downloaded any new apps, all my notificiation are turned off, I don't receive any push notification, ect. So, I don't know why I have had such an issue in the last few days. If any one could help, I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

    Battery life seems short
Click (www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a computer, don't connect iPhone to a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.
Note: Charging with a FireWire-based power source is not supported, except on original iPhone.
If you continue to have battery-life issues, we may need to isolate the issue further. It might be best to restore your iPhone as new, then test once more:

  • HT1430 I have the Iphone 5 and just recently updated to IOS 6.1.3 and my battery life is just not what it was with the 6.1.2.  I can start a day at 100% and in 6 to 7 hours be at 18%, (this actually occurred this past Monday) for no reason.

Hello, has anyone had problems with increase rate of battery life depletion?  When I say increased rate I mean loosing maybe 80% in a 7 hour time frame while using the Iphone for nothing more than checking weather or stocks?  This started after I went to the IOS 6.1.3.  Before I could easily get 3 days out of the phone. Now I am wondering if it will hold the charge before I get home from work.

    Hi imobl,
Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.

  • I have the 13 inch macbook pro bought in august 2011,the battery life instead of 7 hours lasts only for 3-4 hours why is this so

i was very impressed when i saw the 7 hour battery life of the macbook 13 in the store . but after using the system it only lasted 3-4 hours completely , same was the case for windows 7 pro. all the other functions of my mac are working fine.I buyed the system pin packed in front of me.I questioned the retailer about this but he had no clue what was happenig which caused this.I think this has something to do with china as my mac has been assembled in china and designed by apple californiahttp://computershopper.com/laptops/reviews/apple-macbook-pro-13-inch-2011-versio n these are the specs and the review of the system.but remove the phenominal battery life from the pros.I'm new to apple so please also provide me a location where i can get apple support in Pakistan

The 7 hour battery life is maximum that can be expected with minimal drain, but 3-4 hours either means you are using it very, very hard or the battery is bad. OR the gauge needs calibration, see below.
Turn off WiFi if you are not using it, and dim the display to also save battery power. It also depends on the applications that you are using.
One months is  awfully fast for you to lose that much battery time. If the laptop was new, then I would talk to the seller about an exchange, at least exchanging the battery.
Have you tried calibrating the battery? See
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/9036.html
for how. Please note, this only calibrates when the MBP charges the battery and resets the calibration of time or percentage of battery charge left. The lithium battery does not have a memory.

  • Why is the battery losing charge when not in use?

The last two times I have charged my iPad it has then lost charge by the time I use it again. For example, when I left for work this morning it was on 100% but 12 hours later it is on 60%. No apps were open and the cover was closed so I can't understand how this can happen.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Battery life on 2g - not great

Just bought a second hand one and battery barely lasted the day. Is this normal?

I'm happy with the battery life on my 2G but would like to know if there's an easy way to check the number of cycles the battery has been through, like how we can in system profiler on a desktop/laptop. I purchased mine used a few months ago and haven't noticed poor performance i.e. charging once every 2-3 days. Granted, I'm not a heavy user. Cheers.

  • I just got a MacBook pro 2008 and it won't turn on. the seller left it in the office since 2014 September still in good shap. all trouble shooting tip seems not to work. battery and charger seems ok.

    hi,
just got a MacBook pro 2008 from a friend who bought it online. When it came we tested it and it was working. The person he wanted to supply changed his mind and my friend left the mac in the office cabinet since late last year. I decided to buy it and when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't. I charged the battery fully and checked if it was ok. I tried smc and nvram reset yet no sound or beep or any sign of life. There are no apple store around where I live in Nigeria now.
    thanks

"Any suggestions would be great - Thanks!!!"
Have him take it to an Apple store or AASP. (Stay away from Macs. You're a PC guy).

  • 2 day old iphone 5s turns off at 95% battery life and will not turn back on. HELP

So I had an iphone 4s for two years, the battery started to not last as long, so with my upgrade I got the iphone 5s (greatttt). Anyways I had it for a month then all of a sudden I wasn't getting calls, it took over a minute for me to even get a call to send, then once I was on the call others couldn't hear me well, then it would drop (no problems with service, always happened with full bars).  Brought it to Apple store, they told me it was a combination between the phone and my SIM card.  They gave me a new one and recommended I go to verizon to get a new SIM card.  That same day literally 3 hours later, the phone turned off randomly at 65% battery and WOULD NOT turn back on.  I had to go back to the apple store, they restored my phone and almost gave me another new one. However they tested the battery and everything and came to the conclusion it was okay and that I needed to restore the phone and set it up as if I did not already have an iphone (not use icloud to bring EVERYTHING over) So we did that and it started to work, that was two days ago.  Over the course of the last two days I have SLOWLY downloaded my previous APPS, however the only way to download those are to do it from the "cloud" because apparently I can't just get them from the app store.  Well yesterday I got the blue screen of death, however it came back, I thought nothing except that it was over worked.  Tonight it went down to 1%, I left it on the charger until it was at 96%.  I had NO APPS open. Went to my calendar and added a event for tomorrow, put my phone down and then ten minutes later looked at it and its turned off.  It will not turn on, I tried rebooting pressing both buttons, Ive plugged it back it, switched outlets, switched cords, NOTHING.
Of course I wish I never got the iphone 5s at this point.
    What now?
    Back to Apple again?

    Yep.
Just like cars, you lucked on a lemon.

  • HT1338 The battery life of my Macbook Pro lasts less than what is indicated in the specs. It is a real nuisance!!! especially when I'm in a meeting and have to utilize my Mac laptop!

I am having trouble with the duration of my Macbook Pro battery. It does nt lasts as long as what is indicated in the battery specs. Is there something wrong with my battery? I have charged it as required when I bought my Mac. Is this another overlooked and over-estimated presentation of Apple? Please enlighten my perceptions regarding this matter. Thanks

how old is the battery?  How many charge cycles are on the battery?
You can get this information by opening the application "System Information" in the folder "/Applications/Utilities".  Select the informtion from the "Hardware > Power" section
    It should look something like:
In this case I have 35 charge cycles on the battery.  The larger this number the more likely it is that you will have less actual usable capacity.

  • Battery Life-Dead when not used

I have noticed that if I do not use my ipod for about 2 days, the battery will die even if it is fully charged. I know for a fact that it is not being turned on. is anybody else having this problem? do i need to return it?

have you done a full charge and full discharge 1 or 2 times to help condition and calibrate the battery?

  • IPad battery indicating charge but not charging

Hi guys, my iPad battery is not charging but it is indicating that it is. Here is what I have tried:
Rebooting the iPad and also a hard reset.
Cleaning the connection point terminal with isopropyl alcohol.
    Charging with several different cables.
    Charging with several different outlets.
Could this be a hardware issue? The iPad has been extremely well looked after and has never taken any drops or hard knocks. Should I let the battery die to 0% and charge from there? I'm weary to try this in case I need  it powered for the repair job.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am using the correct adapter that came with the iPad.
    Thanks for your input.
