LG Cosmos - Mobile Email Gmail Credentials Problem

I usually use a Droid but I broke on Friday and I'm waiting for an insurance replacement (it was on backorder, so I'm looking at two weeks.) I can't go that long without a phone so I decided to reactivate my old pre-smartphone, an LG Cosmos.
I installed the $5 Mobile Email app on my phone, selected Gmail as my provider, inputted my credentials and I was met with a dialog that says: "You have entered an invalid Username or password. Please try again."
I've verified and re-verified that I'm inputting the correct credentials. I have zero problems logging in on my computer.
Any help would be appreciated!

Are you, by any chance, using Google's 2-step authentication for your gmail account?  If so, your usual username and password won't work, and you need to make the mobile email app a "trusted" app and get a one time password for it to work.
If you are not using two step authentication, then try using "other" rather than choosing the Gmail option, and entering the details that way.

    Assuming that you can send email on the iPad, Maybe something is corrupt in Safari that is causing this. Try clearing Safari and see if the sites will accept your email address.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

    As you can see it doesn't matter if "Show Read Filed Emails" button is set to ON or OFF, Blackberry HUB doesnt respond at all, but Blackberry Blend view changes at same second then I press.

    If you select one month for mail days to sync, only one month's worth will be synced and available - the last month which will be constantly changing to the most recent 30 days. Select No Limit for Mail Days to Sync.
    Show 1000 recent messages is for the selected mailbox only and if there are more than 1000 messages in a mailbox and you have one month for mail days to sync selected, if the last 30 days for the mailbox includes 100 messages, only 100 messages will be available.
    Are these additional server stored mailboxes separate mailboxes and what I mean by that is not sub-mailboxes for the Inbox mailbox?
    Since you have had this issue with other operating systems, the common denominator is your Hotmail account. Have you contacted Hotmail technical support regarding this issue you have had with other operating systems?
    All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange account should be available with the email client used to access the account. If all are not available when accessing the account as an Exchange account with an email client, something is wrong with your setup for these mailboxes at the server level.

    Has anyone else out there got the Sprint mobile email? I have it in addition to the Versamail( in case I accidently erase something in Versamail) I can get all my email accts on it( Gmail, HOtmail, Netzero,Yahoo) and have not had many problems with it. I am just wondering if there is anyone who knows if there is a filter for the junk mail and whereto put emails you want to save into a folder or something.

    I have the 755P and about the only thing I can think of is if you either tap on the top center section and on the nextr screen tap on Save. either that or by forwarding it to a secondary e-mail address. You can still access it manually from your web browser to ex. yahoomail.com and then got to account xyz instead of account abc. Things can then be moved back and forth by you, at will. Kinda round robin, but hey, for lack of a better way or answer. Creature.

  • I need help with an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2

    I’m having an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2     Model:  MC774C/A;  IOS VERSION: 6.1.3 (10B329). 
    While I use 4 email accounts on the iPad -- Hotmail, Gmail, iCloud and ns.sympatico.ca ( a division of BellAliant) – the sending difficulty only relates to the ns.sympatico.ca.  The settings for this account are:         pop.bellaliant.net            and      smtp.bellaliant.net
    I first noticed the problem about 3 weeks ago while travelling across the country (Canada).  (I do recall about that time there was an update of my IOS and I also for my wife purchased from the Bell store an iPhone which shares my Apple account.)  Prior to that everything worked well for a couple of years.
    I noticed earlier this month that the iPad received mail fine but would not send at night using the motels’ WiFi.  During the day, using my 3G account, all worked fine.  I phoned Bell but was told that my experience was normal so I thought no more about it until I returned home and found the same problem at the house.  I called Bell again and worked for 2 hours with 3 Bell technicians who succeeded in getting the iPad to neither send nor receive and gave up advising me to take the iPad into a Bell store to have it looked at.  I did that and the young technician got the iPad sending and receiving by changing the        smtp.bellaliant.net      to         mail.1xbell.ca
    However, when I returned home again, I realized that it was working on my 3G and still doesn’t send on my WiFi
    I’m looking for any suggestions that might solve this annoying problem?

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Mobile Email not retrieving messages for current month

    I did a couple of quick searches on this problem, but I couldn't find any information if this is a known bug with the Mobile Email application.  For the last week or so, whenever I access Mobile Email on my LG enV Touch, the first page of emails shown are for the previous month, but the same day of the month (so today is August 16th, 2010, and the newest messages I can access are from July 16, 2010).  There is no software update available.  From the application's info page it seems like my version is 3.1.3.2.
    Also, the email address that is being accessed is for an @comcast.net account, but this setup has been working fine for over a year now, until this issue came up. When I access this account elsewhere, it does show messages for the current day, like normal.
    Has anybody seen a problem like this?  Any suggestions for next step on looking into this?

    I do apologize that you are not able to retrieve any of the current months emails.from your device.However you may need to re download the mobile email application in order to get the emails to start coming through. Here are some steps to downloading the mobile email application from  your device. Hope this helps!
    From the main screen, select Menu.
    Select Media Center (Get It Now).
    Select Browse & Download (Tools on the Go).
    Select Get New Applications.
    Select Mobile Email.
    Select the purchase option.
    If prompted, select Yes to start the download.
    Select Yes.
    To continue the installation, review the Terms of Use, then select Accept.
    Select the desired email provider, then choose Select.
    If prompted, review the Terms of Use for the email provider, then select Accept.
    Enter the username and password, then select Sign In.
     Username and password are case sensitive

  • GMAIL IMAP PROBLEM (can't duplicate mailbox in apple mail)

    I am seriously at my wits end! It has been about a week and I am still having huge problems with my gmail imap account in apple mail. At first, my sent messages were not being imported into apple mail (only about 30 days work). After a bunch of fiddling and trying to fix the problem (deleting the account in apple mail, rehooking up the account, rebuilding the mailbox, switching off IMAP enabling in gmail) the problem has only gotten worse.
    Now, only 1000 emails from gmail are sent into apple mail. I know there is a setting within the gmail prefs to limit the amount of messages in an imap folder 1000 but, I have that turned OFF.
    As of right now my apple mail shows about 1000 messages in my inbox and 250 or so in my sent mail. None of the mail is from before 12/7/10.
    The only thing that seems significant about that date is that I set up another IMAP account on a temporary macbook laptop at a temp job on that day in apple mail (the account has since been deleted when I stopped using the laptop).
    Ugh, this is so annoying and frustrating. I often need to look in my mail archive for old messages/attachments.
    I can't seem to find any help anywhere, but if you can offer me any advice I would really appreciate it!

    I don't know if this is relevant... but…
    Last year, when I set up a second, temporary Gmail IMAP account, I found that all did not jell well together…
    I encountered quite a few problems… sending and receiving… transferring to and from the accounts… and lots of Hangs and Time Outs…
    When I had eventually finished with the second account, I not only deleted it from Mac Mail, but Completely Closed and Deleted it with Gmail.
    Since then I have had no such problems with my single Gmail IMAP account…
    As I said, not sure if this is relevant to your Problem, but thought it might be of interest to you.

      I've setup nokia email without any problem using my WiFi and it was synchronizing without a problem. Since then I've I'm unable to change the Access Point to my Mobile provider. I keep getting "Server not found", even though the server name is still properly configured (netac3.vie.hosting.com). Can anyone help?

  • LG Extravert - Verizon Mobile Email - Google Calendar - All Day Events showing on wrong day

    I have an LG Extravert.  I installed and setup the Verizon Mobile Email application.  I added my gmail account.  I successfully pulls in my gmail calendar - BUT any of the events that as "All Day" events in google end up displaying on the wrong day on the LG Extravert.  If I drill into the event on the phone - it displays start and end times for the event.  Why does it do anything with time for an all day event?  and if it does (for some reason) still use times - why are the times off?  The timezone setup on my phone and google accounts all match.
    Please Advise...

    I am using the features of the Mobile Email application... I couldn't find a way with the Extravert to integrate directly with the calendar application. 
    If a create an all day event on the phone... it looks ok in google... but when the phone alerts me of the event... it says the Start Time is 1:00 AM.  It seems like the Mobile Email Applications calendaring is not able to correctly handle All Day events.

  • Samsung Convoy 2 - mobile email interfering with handsfree?

    Wonder if anyone else has had this problem, and/or found a fix other than disabling mobile email. I have a bluetooth handsfree device in my car.  It woks perfectly with the Convoy 2 for making calls, etc. However, intermittently I would press the button to initiate a call, and nothing would happen. Once, I saw a message something like 'function not available during a call' or something like that on the front screen. A few other times, I would open the phone, and would see it displaying a mobile email notification. The handsfree couldn't initiate voice dialing mode until I cleared the notification.  I turned off notifications, but was still getting them for some reason. Finally, I turned off automatic message downloading, so there won't be any notifications. It now only checks for mail manually when I tell it to do so, which is an annoying loss of functionality.  I have never noticed that it failed to let me answer a call with handsfree, just that it wouldn't let me initiate a call. digging out the phone to flip it open and clear the notification is not a safe option.
    anyone have a solution other than only using part of the functionality of the phone?

    just to update in case anyone else comes across this in a search:
    I've been able to turn automatic email message downloading back on, but I have to leave notifications off. any notifications interfere with initiating anything handsfree. I can live without it popping up a notification about getting email.
    However, I did notice that there were other times the phone wouldn't initiate a call. I had programmed the red side button to take me to the Apps screen, since I didn't use push-to-talk. sure enough, even with the phone in my pocket, there were times when the front buttons would unlock and the side button would activate, and my phone would be sitting with a 'OPEN PHONE TO CONTINUE' message. opening the phone would show I was in the Apps screen.
    The phone update last year which increased the unlock delay did help this, as it occurred less often. but just increasing the delay still means it can unlock in your pocket and activate the side button. I tried to reprogram the side button to something that wouldn't prevent Voice Command functions from working, but haven't found anything. there doesn't seem to be a 'turn off side button' option, which would be nice.
    if there is a setting for the side button that would work, please let me know. I've gotten used to fishing out my phone and clearing the screen when handsfree dialing won't work, but it defeats its purpose as a safety feature.

    Having trouble sending messages from mac email but no problem receiving emails? Not sure how to get it working. Called apple and they want my credit card before they help me. Did anyone else have this email problem.

    With Mail running, click Window in the menu bar and select Connection Doctor. That will tell you what service is not working. If this is a gmail account, it may well be yet another problem with the gmail smtp server. It happens too often.

    I used the double-secured feature on my Gmail account and then created a unique password for the Mail app in my Firefox OS device with Flame v2.0.
    I was able to send and receive emails from my double-secure Gmail account with no problems. I didn't receive any errors when sending the email, and the automatic sync worked correctly.
    Where did you download version 2.1 from?
    I would suggest rolling back your Flame device to at least version 2.0. The version that you are currently using is still very unstable, and it's still actively being worked on, so it's not uncommon that features and apps will break.
    Version 2.1 is scheduled to be Feature Complete on October 13th, and then there will still be stabilization and optimization work done on it. Mozilla's code on version 2.1 of Firefox OS is scheduled to be Code Complete on November 21, 2014 - so there's still a lot of work to be done on that version. =)
    I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you are still having issues sending and syncing your emails on more stable versions of Firefox OS.

  • Deleting Mobile Email accounts

    Hello all. I am a new Verizon customer, using a new Centro. I set up the "mobile email" on my wifes centro with MY Gmail account, just to test to see if would work, thinking there would be some normal account options where I could delete the account and enter a new account for her...NOPE! I am a network engineer by the way, so I feel pretty stupid asking this...but how do I delete that mobile email account and enter hers? The user guide is 100% useless, and there seems not to be any "normal" settings icon that you can enter in to and administer the device. Not too impressed with the NON-user friendlyness of the device thus far. Any help will be thoroughly appreciated. Perhaps someone can shoot a link my way, that outlines some of the settings procedures for simplistic commands such as email setup?

    I found the file "com.apple.mail.plist" and opened it in TextEdit.
    Unfortunately, the text is formatted as one huge string with no real way to tell what text I need to snip out.
    I did not find a "DeliveryAccounts' item, but I can find references to the other accounts because of the old mail server addresses. Here is a sample of two lines of that text...

    So as you can see, there isn't a logical (to me) start and stop point to the text items.
    Might there be a 3rd party utility that will remove old mail accounts?

    Very likely. Hard to believe the carrier in Mexico doesn't have a micro-SIM card available.
    Or somehow the Chinese carrier found out and locked it?

    What can I do? Get a new SIM and see if it works again?
    Get a micro-SIM from the carrier in Mexico that you don't have to manually cut down. If that carrier doesn't provide one, switch to another carrier that is not so low-budget.

    On each of the phones you're gonna use a new Apple ID for iCloud: turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
    This will have no affect on the ID you share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.
