LG G Pad 8.3 Tablet won't turn on

I see a few threads where people have had problems with their LG G 8.3 LTE tablet not powering on.
Mine worked fine yesterday, and I don't think the battery level was super low, but I might be wrong. My old apple devices had to charge for a bit when the battery was completely dead, are the LG products the same way?
This tablet is essentially brand new, it's never even left the house, much less had any damage at all. It's probably been used less than a dozen times.
Really hoping that it's not dead. I plugged it into the charger than came with it, and also into the USB port of my computer (at someone's suggestion). So far, nothing.

First, unplug it and remove the main battery. Press the power button 5 times, holding it for a full 5 seconds on the last time. Put the battery back, plug it in, and try again

I'm sorry you're having issues with your tablet ssnowandsurf . I know its frustrating. I recommend checking the charging port on your tablet to ensure its not loose or damaged. Are there any problematic apps on your tablet? If so, when you are able to turn it on, remove those to check if that will resolve the issue. Keep us posted.

I read some people here saying to do a factory reset, but I'm concerned with whether this would mean I would lose windows 8.1 and microsoft office that it comes with. Anyway the charge light won't come on and I push the power button and it doesn't start. Has anyone did a factory reset and not lose the main programs it comes with, like Microsoft Office? I'm gonna be careful before doing this

A reset done from the Windows menu (where you have the options of refresh and reset) will lose apps. a Factory reset done from either the Acer discs or from the recovery partition (if your SSD is large enough) will keep the Office install image. That being said, it's unlikely an OS reset is going to affect the charging. Verify your charger is working first! Most of the time charging problems are either a loose connector or a bad charger, the software loaded isn't going to affect charging.

Z2 Tablet won't turn on, even with hour of charge. Help

My scrollbar on my mouse pad on my laptop won't work since I downloaded the 4.0 version. I tried what some other people tried but I still can't get it to work.What can I do to fix it?

I just download the 4.0 version and my scroll pad on my laptop won't work. I have to use my arrow keys or the side bar on the side. The scroll pad works with Internet Explorer and anywhere else just not with Firefox's newest version.

This one is easy. The shortcut is for the old iTunes, that is why it won't work.
I assume you are using Windows.
If so, go to the bottom left of your screen and click the start button. Go up to programs and hold your cursor over it. A list of all your programs should pop up to the right. Move the curso over to iTunes. There should be an "about iTunes" and an iTunes logo there. Right click on the iTunes logo and click create shortcut (you can also just drag it out to your desktop). That will give you a desktop shortcut for your new version.

This is a simple request: Verizon - please exchange my Ellipsis Jetpack for an LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. The Jetpack I purchased on July 9 (to travel with for 3+ weeks) failed to work since day-one, repeated attempts to fix the device with tech support and personal visits to various stores in multiple states did not fix the trouble. After requesting alternative solutions which included an exchange (see above) the only solution offered by Verizon personnel is to replace the unit with a used reconditioned Ellipsis Jetpack or cancel the Jetpack service, pay the cancellation fee of $175 and buy the GPad and activate a new contract for that device. All of this for something that has failed to work and didn't provide the intended benefit when needed.

My pad on my 2011 won't respond to clicks

i can still click with the pad, but it won't open or close any applications, links, etc. I can also move the cursor around with my fingers on the pad, but the clicks won't respond

Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you go through ALL of those steps and you still have issues, you need to get your phone checked out by Apple.

HP omnia 10 tablet won't switch off

Hi. I have an omnia 10 tablet which has been great until now. After the latest windows update was installed, it refuses to switch off! I have tried everything and all it does is goes to sleep - thus running the battery down. Anyone any idea how to fix this?

Same issue...got it for $.99 when I upgraded my phone...YESTERDAY!!! The sales rep totally sold me on it...worked his persuasive magic and within minutes I thought, "Hey! This will be so awesome for Maeve!" My little 4-year old has to constantly argue and fight to get her hands on an iPad or the Mac...and she loves playing her little educational (and not-so-educational) games. Well! We got home, opened it up and she LOVED it! Then disaster struck! After charging it "for hours and hours" it wouldn't turn on. It BROKE MY HEART!!! I followed the advice...hold the power button for 10 seconds then plug in and keep holding power button...it worked. But, by GOD, if this product hurts my little girl's feelings again, I'll throw it in the fire and buy her a REAL iPad! I am NOT impressed!FYI, I have had my MacBook Pro for four years and NOT A SINGLE ISSUE and we own two iPads, one of which my 7 year old saved and paid for by herself...NO ISSUES WITH APPLE PRODUCTS EVER! Just sayin'...

Msi ge620 instability/won't turn on

here's my story and i hope someone can help me out!! because ITS VERY COMPLICATED! and i cannot diagnose the main issue!!!!!
i have been having an issue with my msi ge620 for almost 3 months now, at first i thought it was a heat problem ,and then i started to believe its an electrical issue .and now i think its the motherboard dead or dying .. but sometimes my notebooks turns on and can work normal and get into games but might turn off after 10 min or 1 hour gameplay despite that the heat doesnot pass 85C , but usually in winter is less than that
my current warranty is invalid and 2 years already passed this summer, because i bought this notebook from kuwait , and i am currently in egypt, i couldnot send it back to msi for maintenance via shipment in order to check the issue,
because firstly i dont know how exactly to send it back there or to europe etc..
and secondly cairo is not a safe place to do so..or to search etc and to ask around despite that i asked most technician or electronic shops and i am not certain if there is msi in egypt !? ,, and i dont want to handle my laptop to a technician here because i had alot of problems with them and especially stolen hardware or replacement of hardwares without notifying me .. and especially with gaming consoles..
and thirdly i couldnt travel back earlier this year because of university etc,, anyways it doesnt matter because i already opened the notebook so i thought of seeking help here from experienced people.
this whole issue started when i was playing guildwars 2 suddenly during the game my pc shuts down, so i realized it was a heat problem and then
i did some googling early that month and believed it was really a heat problem especially that i could see dust inside the fan and couldnt reach it with my electronic vacuum and was worried about the warranty if i opened it but latter that month i realized i couldnt send it back or travel etc.. so i have opened it and started cleaning it and of course it was full of dust, and i did it by carefully watching videos and reading guides etc,,, and i am certain i did it correctly it worked perfectly afterwards with no issue at all FOR ANOTHER MONTH~! and also to note that i used to open my old desktop and replace parts or cleaning it but never did it before with laptops
and that made me realize it was a heat problem
and then later that month the issue reappeared so i went to clean it back again and it worked fine but afterwards it reappeared AGAIN and started to shut down! but this time when i opened it , it had no dust at all! so i gave it a rest, and i realized my pc was shutting down only after 6-8 hours of gameplay! and i have to mention its hot here , but i usually play with my home fan on or with my air conditioner on to cool the room
so i started giving it rest each 2 hours, and then one day it stopped responding and it wont turn on and i knew this would happen sooner or later..., so i didnt use it for a while maybe 3 days or so ,
and the next day it started again after holding shut down button for 30 second!!! i was really starting to get angry, so i did google search and i found that some guy had the same issue as me and when he replaced his electrical cable cord it worked normal, so i started to check how i can order from outside for replacement particularly from usa.. and i found a company called avadvancemax and rakkuten and also amazon that has a replacement for my discontinued msi product but the problem it kinda takes over a 1 month for the order to appear in egypt and i am certain that it will take longer with whats happening in the streets, so for the last two weeks it appeared that i cannot order from outside for certain issues , so i started to try to repair it until i can place my order for replacement,
this is what i have tried so far and it kinda worked out well but for a while only
hold power button for 30 seconds. and this brought my notebook back to life
remove power plug for 1minute then try again
remove li-on battery for 1 minute then put it back in
start the notebook by battery and then put the plug in and it worked
play with battery only or use laptop with battery only and recharge with cable cord
and this made me believe it was electrical problem , especially that my plug looks like one from UK which is usually used in kuwait and i convert it to european standard plug which is used in egypt
BUT! it only works for my notebook if i want to use the internet or watch videos etc,,, IF i decided to play a game such as the last remnant it shuts down, but if i play a very old game like final fantasy vii it works without shutting down .
and yesterday i played the game such as last remnant for almost 45 minute to 1 and half hour in very high graphics despite that its 2009 game and then it shuts down ,
i also bought a cooling pad just recently and started using it whenver i used the notebook , and notebook fan inside is working perfectly
and i also thought of replacing thermal paste but i am not sure if that will help since it wont turn on , and i am not sure if formating the pc would help, since it usually starts and shuts down on windows logo but now it wont turn on at all
and what made me post this today after all this experimenting and instability etc.... ,
is because;
today i tried to start my notebook from the battery and it wont start all and neither from the main cord plug
and when it starts its shuts down very quickly less than seconds,, it used to happen before but usually it would start if i used the battery only!
and now when my battery is plugged in , and the cablecord is also plugged it , it seems that the battery is charging ...
i am really sorry for the long post but anyways as you can see its really weird and complicated issues, and i never overclocked it but i usually play in high graphics etc.. and maybe it consumed too much power from nvidia perhaps ? i usually use it for maximum graphics and sometimes i use it for high performance only

the same issue happened to my xbox 360 and it completed wont turn on and the issue by then was the cable cord , and then it worked out well after i replaced it and afterward my xbox 360 died... despite the new cable cord
and another note is that here in egypt and especially before the military coup that happened, usually the electricity here turns off suddenly and it really made me worried that it caused both my pc and xbox to fuse .. because they both faced the same issue..
and i never had this kind of issue in my 10 years old desktop in kuwait which is really making me believe its electricity issue
or maybe motherboard died..

My Z1 won't turn on.
I am not sure what could be the cause.
Months leading to this I have encountered the following issues
1.) It will hang or suddenly black out. - I learned that removing the SIM and putting it back "fixes" this problem.
It eventually went away probably after a software update.
2.) It hangs when I receive a text. I have to turn it off then off again.
3.) It was exposed to salt water air?? I say air because I didn't submerge the phone, but I took pictures with it while I was lounging in a saltwater pool. All flaps were closed and I didnt even put the phone in the pool. Although my hand was wet with saltwater when I touched the screen to take a picture.
These problems may all be inter-related or not, I don't know.
I bought the unit last December 2013 and I am very unhappy with the phones performance in terms of the issues outlined above. I wonder if I had purchased a lemon. This phone definitely doesnt live up to the hype. And I certainly cannot relate to all the rave reviews I had read prior to purchasing it.
Hope someone can help me figure out a solution to this. I am bringing it to the service center next week, but perhaps a simpler solution will save me the hassle that owning this phone has caused me. Let alone all the potentially lost contacts I may have lost because the phone won't turn on now (I hope not)

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear about your phone and your experience. Have you tried to start the phone by press and hold the power button and volume up until the phone vibrates? Charge the phone for a couple of hours and try to start it as normal again.
If that doesn't help, you can try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

HT201270 My iPhone 4 wifi won't turn on

My iPhone 4S wifi and bluetooth won't turn on. Any fix for this? I tried remote wipe and then restore from the PC but the issue is still there. I've also tried to reset all settings and reset network settings but the issue is still there.

My 4s also grayed out the wifi setting a couple of weeks ago. I called technical support and the guy _insisted_that there is no known problem with phones with respect to IOS 6. He told me to reset the phone and restore and that would probably solve all my problems. Really, there is nothing wrong with the phone, he told me. I had tried just about everything else I had found on-line. The complete erase and restore did not work.
Then I went to the Genius Bar and they tried a few things (more resets) and they concluded wifi is not functioning but since it is out of warranty, they want $199 to replace it. $199 is not the cost of a new phone so obviously there is some concession here but not a complete acceptance of responsiblity. The Genius Bar told me that - in fact - that there is a known firmware problem with the phones and IOS6 that crops up randomly. Not with a lot of phones, just the unlucky few. If it is out of warranty, you have to pay. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty with my credit card so I can get reimbursed.
My next purchase is going to be an android tablet. I'm going to wean myself away from the Apple orchard. I want to expand my options for my next phone purchase.
