LG G2 mp4/h.264 not working on LG G2

Mp4/h.264 videos(All websites) do not play properly on the LG G2 with KitKat 4.4.1 or 4.4.1. I have tried both the regular Firefox (32.0.3) and Beta(33.0), both seem to be having the issue. Playback works fine using mobile Chrome. Please also note, I am not using Flash player, these are standard html5 videos.
Here is an example: http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html
Screenshot of video(on device): http://postimg.org/image/enohww7nj/
WebM and Ogg/Theora play fine.

hi battleskull
is this [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1052888 bug 1052888]?
this sounds like an LG specific issue. those videos work fine in Firefox for Android 32 on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and Nexus 5.
I will try and get developer attention onthis.

  • OnePlus One: hardware accelerated mp4/h.264 not working in Firefox for Android

Videos being played via HTML5 player in Firefox for Android do not play correctly, because the hardware acceleration is not implemented correctly. Tested with latest version (14 oktober 2014); Fennec (33.0)
It seems related to the GPU (Adreno 330). The OnePlus One has the same GPU as the LG G2, and that phone has the exact same issue, as you can see here: https://support.mozilla.org/nl/questions/1022029
The videos play fine in Chrome for android and the also play fine in Firefox if you disable the hardware acceleration via:
    about:config -> stagefright.disable = true
    Can anyone please fix this?

In addition: I've also tried it with the latest beta (Fennec 34.0).. Same result.

  • H.264 not working with QT

H.264 streaming does not work with QuickTime instead a green screen pops up. I can watch the camera (Axis P1343 network cam) using Motion JPEG stream profile but not H.264. The camera LiveView is set up to use QT but QT does not respond. I know this issue has been discussed before and a lot of literature exists on this subject on line. Has a solution been found? My computer is a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response, I checked with our Admin guys
    and it indeed 3.0.0.
    So I will update immediately.

  • .mp4 H.264 not playing correctly in Quicktime Pro

    Here is all my information:
Format: H.264 Decoder, 720x480 Millions AAC, Mono, 48.000 kHz
    FPS: 23.98
    Data Size: 1.86 GB
    Data Rate: 2695.08 kbits/sec
Normal Size: 640 x 480 pixels (this is the current size too)
The Problem: I have perfect audio, but the video seems extremely choppy and lags. I wanted to do simple editing of some video and I thought that the Quicktime Pro may help this file play better, so I just bought Quicktime Pro to see that it does not help the file play any better. Could there be a setting that I'm missing somewhere? My roommate has Quicktime Pro on Windows and the file plays for him perfectly. The file also plays fine on VLC... So I thought it must be a setting that I am missing. Thanks.

It depends on which version of Windows Media Player they're using. If they're still on XP, it's very possible it won't work.  Anyone using Windows 7 or 8 should have no problem.  (And perhaps it does need to be said, but everyone should be using either 7 or 8 by now.)
At least one of them was on Windows 7.
Is there a better format I should be using for PP export other than H.264?

  • H.264 not working in Live Stream

    Hi,
I have a HD Camera streaming a live feed through FME 2.5 to
FMS 3.0 using the VP6 codec and it works fine.
I have now been trying to get the same stream running via
H.264 and althogh FME 2.5 connects to the FMS 3.0 server and the
stream starts with FMS 3.0 reporting the stream no problem.
The Client application crerated with Captivate 3 using Flash
Player 9 for publishing no longer dispays the video.
Switching back to VP6 works again.
Any one have any idea what I should be doing?

  • Why is an mp4 from PC not working on mac?

I have a file that was emailed to me that is an mp4 file.  It plays fine on their computer (a PC) but when I play it on mine it is pixilated.  Do I need to convert it to something else/what would that be?  I tried to convert it to Apple Pro Res in Compressor to edit it but the file is still pixilated.

If you open the file in QuickTime 7, does the file look correct?
Open the file in QuickTime 7, then go to the menu Window > Show Movie Inspector, what does the Movie Inspector say? Post a screen shot of the Movie Inspector.

  • FCP recognizes some h.264 mp4 files but not others

I'm having a particularly frustrating experience with Final Cut Pro 7 at the moment. I've been working on a project for a while now, and I've been importing and cutting with mp4 files that are in h.264 codec with AAC audio. It's been working just fine for a long time now.
Now, I have three more video files to import into the project. They are THE EXACT SAME format: mp4, h.264 codec with AAC audio. Data rate is pretty much the same. Technically, everything I can see about them, format-wise, is exactly the same.
It's not recognizing them. I get "File Error: Unknown File".
I've tried playing them in multiple players. Quicktime, Quicktime 7, VLC... they all work just fine. The inspector in Quicktime tells me the EXACT SAME format information as the files that are importing just fine.
Can someone PLEASE shed light on what the **** is going on here? Why are all the rest of h.264/AAC/mp4 files that I'm importing working just fine while these three are not? I've looked at their logging/format information... it's all exactly the same. There's no perceivable reason that I can find why Final Cut is singling out these three files not to recognize. I thought maybe something had changed with Final Cut and it no longer works with h.264 or mp4 or whatever... but all the other files I already imported are still working just fine. And I can still re-import them just fine. So it can't be that FCP just doesn't recognize MP4 or H.264 or AAC, because it's recognizing it just fine with all the other files. Again, they're all in the EXACT SAME format!
And yes, I've tried re-coverting these files. I've converted them using different programs. They always end up working fine for playing in all the players I have, but when I go to import them into Final Cut, suddenly they ain't working. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why and I'm completely clueless.
Has this happened to anybody else and what did you do? I know I can just try converting them to another format, like ProRes or Apple Intermediate... but that would take up more space on my computer... plus, it's just the mystery of the situation that's really getting to me right now. I want to know WHY it's not working! For the life of me, it doesn't make any sense.
Also: I thought it might have something to do with Perian. I recently uninstalled and reinstalled Perian. Since I did that, Perian hasn't been working very well. Quicktime doesn't play the audio in mkv files, for example.
But if Perian not working is preventing FCP from recognizing THESE mp4/h.264/aac files, then why are the rest of the mp4/h.264/aac files still working just fine? Again, it just doesn't make any sense to me. It's like FCP got picked on by these three files and is holding a grudge.

I know h.264 is not ideal. And you're right, I have had issues with sync on export and such that I've had to deal with. But it still worked. I was able to import and edit with the files, despite having some glitches along the way.
Now it's just plain not importing. And I have no idea what changed. Final Cut didn't change. It's still importing all the files it likes just fine. They're mp4/h.264/aac, and they import. These three files that aren't importing are the SAME format, but Final Cut doesn't like them for some reason. I would love to know what that reason could possibly be. What could possibly make one mp4/h.264/aac file import, but another one not?
JUST talking about importing. Not editing or exporting.

  • FLV supporting but .mp4 (H.264 encoded) video not supporting in mobile browser?

MP4 file required Flash Player 10 to play video I know this,I can watch video from youtube.com in mobile bowser also.
Please look at the following url which is not opening in Mobile browser but can open in computer broswer.
    http://karzzzz.bigflix.com/m/
I want the above url to be play in both computer and mobile browser also as it calling  .mp4 file from Flash Media Server.
    Thanks
    Sunil Kumar Sah

Are you using Flash Lite Plug-in or Flash Player Plug-in on your mobile browser. I have a feeling that you are using Flash Lite Plug-in and flash lite plug-in (latest is 4.0 i suppose) does not support H264 encoded files.
MP4 file which you are playing from youtube might not be H264 encoded , it might be On2 VP6 which is supported in MP4 container.

  • Apache not working  with FMS 4.5 on Windows 2008

    FMS 4.5.1 Windows 2008 SP2 (64bit).
I've searched everywhere for a possible solution to this, so my apologies if this has been asked before and my thanks for any potential help that anyone can offer to help resolve this.
We are deploying Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5.1 on a new server but Apache does not work (does not serve html files or stream Quicktime H.264 files).
          Assorted Problems & Error messages:
    1.  The webroot/index.html page loads locally, but the HLS/HDS streams result in a 2032 error.
    2. The webroot/index.html page does not load from  external locations:
         http://63.116.232.5/index.html (does not load externally).
http://63.116.232.6/index.html (our old server, FMS 4.0 and Windows 2003). Everything on this server works, the 2 major differences being that it is running FMS 4.x on Windows 2003.
Some RTMP streaming works externally and internally (f4v files):
    http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/player.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.5/vod/mp4:sample1_1 50kbps.f4v
FMS does not stream Quicktime H.264 files even though f4v files work.
New server (does not work): http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/player.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.5/vod/mp4:Basketbal l.mov
                                  (f4v works): http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/player.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.5/vod/mp4:sample1_1 50kbps.f4v
    Old server (Quicktime/H.264 file works): http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/player.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.6/vod/mp4:Basketbal l.mov
Apache does not serve Quicktime/H.264 files: I made sure that Apache had all of the correct mime types specified.
        Error messages and attempted solutions:
    Apache's erro_log file:
           a. httpd.exe: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
    2. FMS master.log file
          a. FMSHttpd -k start returned 1:
    Solutions: http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/CouldNotDetermineServerName
1a:  Edited httpd.conf file to include ServerName 63.116.232.5
1b: The presence of this error message also indicates that Apache httpd was unable to obtain a fully-qualified hostname by doing a reverse lookup on your server's IP address.
In order for the server to accept external connections a reverse DNS lookup needs to be created. I created a reverse DNS lookup and  edited the /etc/hosts file to include the IPaddress, Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), shortname.
This is the format suggested by the article:
    127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain   localhost       foo.example.com
Running the nbtstat -a 63.116.232.5 command on the machine results in the following:
    WIN-8AIHI2J0524<00>  UNIQUE      Registered
    THS-LIBRARY-VOD<00>  GROUP       Registered
    THS-LIBRARY-VOD<1C>  GROUP       Registered
    WIN-8AIHI2J0524<20>  UNIQUE      Registered
    THS-LIBRARY-VOD<1B>  UNIQUE      Registered
    So the FQDN = WIN-8AIHI2J0524.Ths-library-vod.local
I edited the /etc/hosts to the following (with versions using the local host ip 127.0.0.1 and the external ip address, IPv4 is being used):
    63.116.232.5 WIN-8AIHI2J0524.Ths-library-vod.local
    # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
    ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    fe00::0 ip6-localnet
    ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
    ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
    ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
I've also read Adobe's port configuration articles and  changed the ports that Apache and FMS use as specified in the conf/fms.ini file, but nothing has worked so far. I restored everything to the original settings until I can find out exactly how to fix this.
    Thank you.

    Ms. Apurva ,
I changed the files back as you suggested (the failure was occuring with the default settings) and our admin assured me yesterday that the ports that I inquired about were open. I'll ask him again.
The telenet command for both ports 80 and 1935 result in Connect failed for me. I'll check Windows Firewall (turned off)  and McAfee to see if there is anything there blocking ports.
Confirm that external connections are blocked: 63.116.232.5/index.html (does not open outside of localhost). No problem accessing with our old server (63.116.232.6/index.html).
I ran this command in nmap and here are the results (11 ports closed): nmap 63.116.232.5 -Pn80

  • MP4 H.264 video won't play in Flash Player

I am using a Mac Book, OS X 10.8.5; FireFox 32.0.1; Flash Player 16.0.0.305.  I am trying to play video (MP4 H.264 format) that works on VLC, Quicktime Player & Real Player but won't play through Flash Player.  Why?

I'll take a look at the GPL sources to see how the firmware encodes the video output, I think the mpeg encoder might be built into the firmware's Linux kernel (instead of a stand-alone encoder program), I see references to the IBM mpeg2 headers but I'm not sure. But honestly addressing this possible bug is not the first thing on my todo list, but I do fidn this report interesting enough to merit investigation.
May I ask what you are using for the Samba server (aka windows shares)? Do you use your desktop PC, or perhaps a NAS server?
As an interim thing to try, I advice you install VLC media player to view the files, or to use VLC to examine the media files properties to see what you can findout.
IF you must use Windows media player, then I suggest you look into the combine community codex package.

  • Sanyo VPC 1000HD H.264 Not Compatible with QuickTime or FCP

    I recently aquired the Sanyo Xacti-VPC 1000HD.
From the results I've observed so far, it's a terrific camera for the price.
My problem, and I know this has been touched in this forum to a limited degree, is that FCP and QuickTime see the MP4 (H.264) files generated by this camera as green screens.
Sanyo suggests that regressing to QuickTime 7.1.6 is the way to go since it supposedly works while the newest update QuickTime 7.2 strangely only creates a green screen... and some user bad language.
I was hoping my upgrade to Leopard (wow 300+ improvements) would cure this issue with FCP 6.0 but noo, green is "in" these days and that's all FCP 6.0 will show me when I import any of those files.
No doubt this situation will be rectified over time and I know this camera is relatively new to the market BUT I would like to find a means of cutting it's output NOW.
I tried the one solution offered in an earlier posting of regressing to QuickTime 7.1.6.
It did sorta work briefly (choppy video playback but no green screen) but later launches of FCP 6.0 just resulted in FCP launch aborts.
Another poster suggested that iMovie '08 w/QT 7.2 handled Sanyo h.264 files okay but apparently iMovie '08 on my MacBookPro (purchased spring 2007) prefers green as well.
I do hope someone can forward a workable solution as I really like this camera.
They have a demo video available at through the Sanyo site of some music performance that proves someone is doing nice editing with the Sanyo VPC-1000HD h.264 files, though I have no idea what technology they are using?
Anyway, any and all responses would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

About QTs encoding size the clip is not forced to 4:3 resolution of 320x240, instead it is resized to fit in the boundaries of a 320x240 rectangle. i.e. a 640x268 clip I had, was resized to 320x134.
-it supports non-mod16 resolutions like the one above or 317x240.
    found some info on profiles:
QuickTime only supports up to Main Profile. None of the High Profile settings such as 8x8 intra are supported by Apple. If you try to encode your x264 video with these settings, it will NOT play on QuickTime.
    AVC/H.264 Profiles
The AVC/H.264 standard defines four different Profiles: Baseline, Main, Extended and High Profile (which themselves are subdivided into Levels):
    - Baseline Profile offers I/P-Frames, supports progressive and CAVLC only
    - Extended Profile offers I/P/B/SP/SI-Frames, supports progressive and CAVLC only
    - Main Profile offers I/P/B-Frames, supports progressive and interlaced, and offers CAVLC or CABAC
    - High Profile (aka FRExt) adds to Main Profile: 8x8 intra prediction, custom quants, lossless video coding, more yuv formats (4:4:4...)
Does anyone have more info on the specs of Baseline 1.3?
Google was not my friends on that one.

  • MP4/H.264 Audio Skipping

I just upgraded to the new 7.2.2 and I now have an MP4 file that is not playing properly. I drop it in the project and bring it up on the source monitor as well as drop it in a timeline. Playing the footage, it looks fine but the audio is cutting out and skipping. There are no places where its no audio, but rather sounds like frames ar ebbing dropped. It plays audio properly for a few seconds then seems to jump several frames ahead. Like I said, the video does not do this.
The footage came from a Sony Handicam that has AVCHD format ay 60 fps, and I used Prelude to bring it in as MP4/H.264 to 23.975 fps. It worked FINE with the previous version of Premiere and have already produced several things from it without this problem.
I have tried having the footage being re-interpreted at different frame rates and it changes the pitch of the audio, but does not take out the issues with the skipping/jumping ahead to audio frames.
I need a solution to this, Adobe. Really irritated these problems pop up with new versions. They are supposed to fix old problems, not break things that are already working. My project is now on hold, but due tomorrow.

Ok, bit of an update. I had assumed the icon I had in my dock would be loading up the NEW version (8.0) or Premiere. It wasn't. So the skipping problem I had was running on the 7.2.2 version. However, I found version 8, loaded it up and it has the very same problem. The audio is jumping frames or something. It is hard to explain. But it is happening with BOTH 7.2.2 and 8 versions. Sounds like the codec was re-written that both versions use and it's totally fouled up.
All my Canon 7D and 5D Mark II footage works fine.
I may try and open Final Cut Pro X and see if that clip gives me the same problem on that platform.

  • Mp4 file does not play when exported to swf?

I am putting together an interactive flash file that I have created in inDesign (CS4).
I have had no problems creating and exporting links, buttons etc, but when it comes to embedding video I am experiencing trouble..I have a video which I have converted to mp4 H.264 format, and there appears to be no problems when uploading but when I export, the video does not play, and there is just a black box in its place with no controls. I have tried converting the file into various other formats, all with no luck. I hope you can tell me where the problem lies!
    Thank you

Support for placed videos in exported SWF was introduced in InDesign CS5 so it does not suppose to work with CS4...
