my new phone will not activate. My old carrier has released my phone number. Now I have no phone.

    I heard about all the problems with the new iOs 7 update but also heard Apple would force me to do it. I tried to update but didn't have enough space. Had to delete ALOT of my apps and still not enough space. Phone was working perfectly fine and message pops up that "I will not have any service until I restore to iTunes. I plug into laptop to restore and it forces me to update to iOs7. Takes 3 hours. It updates but phone doesn't restore. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips:reset to factory settings, recover etc. Got a new SIM card because it said I don't have one but I do. Apple support wouldn't help me because I was out of warranty, and said I would have to pay. Went to the Apple store and they couldn't fix it and said "it's a hardware issue" that will cost me $170.00+.  I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE NEW iO7 FRIED MY PHONE'S HARDWARE. The phone is on the HELLO stage and keeps searching but will not activate to server- it's temporarily unavailable. Have tried multiple times.I have a 3 year contract with Rogers and the phone is less than 2 years old. Apple needs to take responsibility for crashing my phone. I NEED A FREE NEW PHONE!!!

    Restore it to factory settings, then set it up from your back up. Did this last year when I got my new iPod, and it worked. I have no idea why syncing OTA can sometimes glitch, but hopefully this will help.

    I got like the same problem, last days I get message to restore my iPhone, so I did it yesterday and it work very well. In the afternoon I saw that at top in the left corner show invaild sim card or so (only knew the german version). so I restore it again but now it won`t activate after I enter SIM-PIN and it accept it, it shows "No Service".
    Anybody can help? My Carrier is o2 Germany.

    OK, phone just got here and i followed all the correct steps in putting the SIM card in and it will not activate. I have retried 4 times now...not sure how to get it to work. called verizon but they said there was a high call volume and it would be a long wait...any advice?

    I had the same issue and the customer service person worked some magic on his end and got it to activate.  I did the whole thing through the chat feature.  Give it a try!  (My person's name was Javier - I can definitely tell you that he knows what he's doing!)

    I got a used iPhone 4 for Verizon Wireless and it will not activate on Itunes to get a imei to activate the phone.  Itunes keep saying "We are sorry we are unable to continue with your activation at this time, please try again later or call customer care"   When I try to restore I also get a error number 1.  Should I goto to the apple store or Verizon.  Who can help the best
    The person who sold it to me claimed it had a clean ESN and there are no issues.

    Error 1 can be an issue of security software interfering with the restore, so try it with your antivirus/antispyware software temporarily disabled. It can also indicate a hardware failure which would necessitate getting it serviced.

    Sorry. The jailbreak is undoubtedly the root cause of your problem.
    It is not always possible to repair the damage done by jailbreaking.
    Try searching google for an answer, but be prepared to just buy a new phone.

  • Trying to activate my 3GS and the phone will not recognise the sim and will not activate

    I have changed my call plan with my service provider from contract to PAYG and have just tried to upgrade my 3Gs to IOS 5.0.1. I have purchase a iPhone 4 and was using the 3Gs as  back up.
    I set the phone to factory restore as it was being sluggish and I felt a restore would be the best option. The restore went ahead but the phone will not accept that I have a valid sim in the phone and will not activate stating that the servers cannot activate the phone. 
    The sim is the new PAYG sim given to me by O2 and I had even arranged for the number to be transferred to the PAYG sim. I am at  a loss to understand what has happened as the sim will work fine in an old 8gb Iphone 2g and other mobiles. I have not kept the old contract sim so I am unable to insert that to see if that was the problem.
    How can I get my 3Gs acitated and working? Do I need to contact O2 or take the phone to an Apple store. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • S6000 - Sim data will not activate

    Have had the tablet for 8 months and up till now I have been very happy with it.
    I only enable data use on rear occasions as I mainly use wi-fi. Data was last successfully enabled (switched on) about 8 days ago (begining of Sept) and yesterday tried to start data but this function will not activate - this is the menu function which is obtained by sweeping down the screen on the top right hand side of main screen.
    All other functions are full operational (wi-fi, bluetooth etc) and working well. Tablet does not leave a residence, has never been dropped or had liquid spills and is stored in a safe place, No lightning or other enviromental factors have happened.
    I have restarted device, removed sim card and restarted. Sim is funtional, there is available data and service providor confirms that all is well.
    device does not have root access
    1) how can i fix this - do I need to do a hard boot or similar and if so how best to proceed?
    2) How could this happen, is this function hard coded or software enabled (if software I may have uninstalled the program)

    well this is a first, I am replying to my own query.
    did a factory rest of device and it appears to have rectified the problem. Obviously all apps and data were ereased during the process.

    I just received my 2 new LG G2 phones today and they will not activate.  I need help now!

    Are they replacement devices? Or brand new service devices?
    You can remove the Sim cards and then put them back in the device, turn the device on and see if they activate.
    Personally I would stop by a Verizon wireless store and have them activate them. Would stop you from having a meltdown.

  • Server dns service will not turn on

    Im using Server app 4.0.3
    I entered all the info and tried to activate DNS service but it will not turn on.  The on button immediately slides back to off.  I have watched several tutorials and have tried both basic and advanced setups exactly as shown but the service will not start.

    Did you check your restriction settings? Go to Settings/General/Restrictions ->location services
    If deactivated in restrictions, you might not be able to  activate the service in the settings.

    I upgraded my old phone (Blackberry Curve 9330) to a LG G2 and my husband's old phone (Casio G'zone Commando) to the Droid MAXX on 10/26/13.  I received both phones via FedEx yesterday (10/30/13).  I followed the set-by-step instructions included with my purchase confirmation packet - charged my new phone with the phone's enclosed charging cables, backed up my old phone, turned OFF the old phone, called the automated system at 877.807.4646 using my son's phone who's on his father's account, and was told everything was "confirmed" and "activated".  My SIM card was pre-installed by Verizon and an additional 4G SIM card was included in my "welcome packet".
    I turned my new phone ON, set up the language as ENGLISH (United States), hit "NEXT" and the phone displayed it's message of "Please wait while we activate your new phone.  Remember to turn off your old phone if you are moving your phone number from your old phone to this phone."  So, I wait.... and wait.... and wait... and wait.... 10 mins, 20 mins, 45 mins, an HOUR and it's still displaying the above message.  After an HOUR and a HALF, I get a message on the phone stating, "Sorry, we're having trouble activating your phone.  Make sure you have good signal (multiple bars) and try again.  If you are indoors, try moving closer to a window or going outside."  So 3-4 bars out of 5 isn't enough to activate the phone?!?.  I live out in a rural area, but within 2 miles of my cell tower; we have no high speed internet other than satellite or Verizon's sub-par "Mi-Fi" (which is what I have, sadly).  In the last 14 hours, I have burned through 1.5 GB of data trying unsuccessfully to activate a $550 phone!  I have powered the phone OFF, removed the SIM card and started all over again - 15 times now - and still, my phone will NOT ACTIVATE!
    Forget about Verizon's online tech support - when trying to use the online chat session, I receive a message of "no available specialists at this time"... I have no other phone to use (at the moment) because I have no landline, my husband is an OTR trucker and is clear across the country right now with his old phone, and my son's phone is with him at school.  I cannot activate the phone through my Verizon Wireless online account because my phone number is listed as "PENDING ORDER".... so, what is one supposed to do to activate their phone?  Drive an hour into town and burn through $30+ of fuel to have some snot-nosed kid do it for you?  Sit and struggle through their online account burning through their data waiting on the next "available specialist" to assist you?  I'm still 10 days out from my data to reset for the new cycle and I'm about to incur overages because of Verizon's terrible service.
    Verizon - with the amount of money you are making off of consumers (like me!) who pay $200-300 a MONTH for service and spend $500-600 for DEVICES, I EXPECT to receive AVAILABLE service and WORKING devices!  This is unacceptable and down-right robbery on your company's part!  But for those of us who live in rural areas and are VERY limited in our choices, we are expected to just accept and take it.  NO!  I will NOT just sit here and take it and I want what I PAID FOR!  Fix your system, your towers, and your customer service!  And please don't try and pacify me with your generic boilerplate responses of empathy - I want my phones working NOW!
