LG G7100 SMS Download

Hi all,
This is my first look at the whole J2ME environment, so I'm very green when it comes to this.
LG have their own applications which can download your address book, schedules, memos, etc. off the G7100 onto your PC via serial cable. However, they do not have the capability to download your SMS's, either inbox/outbox, etc.
I want to know if it is possible for me to write my own application to access this area of my mobile phone, and download them myself?
Where do I start? (besides downloading the J2ME API :P )
Has anyone every attempted this before?

You can't. Your only option is to copy and paste the text to a weird document such you can either save on Skydrive and download from there.

App via SMS downloads, but Unable to launch - N8

Hello To All,
Perhaps this has been covered already, or perhaps I've overlooked this topic on the board, but I could really use some advice.
I purchased an app from the Nokia Store that did not work, and the app developer sent me a completely different app (in lieu of a refund). The app was sent to me via SMS text.
I clicked on the link in the text (the app was sent as a .sis file - I don't what that is exactly) and it downloaded to my memory card. I then clicked to install. I checked 'Installed Apps' and the app is listed there, however, the app is not in 'Applications', so I am unable to launch it. The developer sent me a different file (also .sis), via SMS, I repeated the steps, but still I am unable to launch the app.
Can anyone advise what I am doing incorrectly? I typically only download apps via the Nokia Store directly to my device, and this is the first time I've received an app to download via SMS.
Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Please rename OOBE to OOBE.old
Location
Macintosh HD--->Computer--->library--->Application Support--->Adobe--->OOBE
After renaming it you can login to www.creative.adobe.com and from the tab 'download center' download and install 'Adobe creative cloud'

How can I download sms from my Lumia to PC?
A have around 1000sms and i want to keep it on my PC.

You can't. Your only option is to copy and paste the text to a weird document such you can either save on Skydrive and download from there.

Costs for Link SMS + Download via Wifi?

I have two questions...
1.: When I want to download an App... Ovi Store wants to send me an SMS with the downloadink. Do these SMS cost s.th.?
2.: When I have Access to a Wifi. May I download these Apps via Wifi or only via Handyconnection over my Serviceprovider?

1. The sms's from Ovi Store don't cost you anything.
2. Yes, you can download the apps using wifi when available
You did not say which phone model you have. If you phone has an Ovi Store app, you can also download the apps directly from Ovi Store using this.

Why won't Ovi Store let me download any programs -...

I have an E71 and just updated the firmware. As moving settings over messed my wifi up last time, I opted to do this manually and reinstall all my programs - I set aside a few hours last night to get this done.
Ovi Store is widely known to have serious design flaws. The main being it does offer a direct download of the .sisx files on the PC version, only a text message with a link - which goes without saying is a terrible way of receiving files.
Last time I used the PC version my text messages showed up several days later - and this time none have appeared yet, as expected.
So I used the phones built-in Ovi Store, which does the job.
However, after just about installing all my programs I checked out the 'settings' in Ovi Store and saw that the default was for them to be stored on the memory card, which fundamental logic dictates is wrong - they go on the phone memory because it is faster.
Why is the default for programs to be stored somewhere no sensible, intelligent person would store them?
As there does not appear to be any semblance of a functional file system on the E71 (certainly not something capable of showing which memory various applications are saved to, or the option of being able to move them from the memory card back to the phone) I decided formatting the card would be the most sensible option.
I did this, lost a bunch of my apps that were on the memory card and went over to the Ovi store on my phone to re-download them.
It now has these apps greyed out as if they are still installed - which they are not!
I then went on my PC - and of course the website might as well not exist, because Nokia don't send me SMS messages for a few days, if at all.
I really don't know what I've done to deserve this. I've purchased two E71s, Nokia drive AND the traffic updates (which are now free) in the last 18 months - and all Nokia do is work as hard as they can to punish me, ruin my phone experience and force me onto the new Windows 7 phone that I am almost certain to order on release.
There is no coincidence about the degree of deliberately compromising hardware/software decisions I've complained about on this forum, Nokia never sending me programs I want via SMS but happily filling my SMS and email inbox with marketing - and waiting until I paid up for my Maps before making it free and now this.
It is clear that Nokia do NOT want me to enjoy their phone and buy an E72 soon - and instead want me to go with Windows 7. They have put great time, resources and effort into forcing me into this decision.
- Why does Ovi store online not have the manual download function that any sensible, reasonable human would demand?
- Why does the second-rate, third-world SMS download function not bother sending the link for several days?
- Why does the Ovi software install programs somewhere that no human with the slightest comprehension of IT skills would advocate installing them?
- Why does the Ovi software not let me re-install programs from the built-in store that are no longer on my phone?
I will be the last of my friends who have returned various phones such as the disasterous N97 and permamently moved to different phone manufacturers when my contract ends this summer.

1. Actually, any sensible intelligent person would store the programs on the memory card. Not doing so would mean that he has less knowledge of the phone. If any of the programs come into conflict with other programs causing certain problems like restarts general hangs, and unable to start the phone, if this app is on the phone memory, it would be hell of a problem. You can change it if you want. Your choice. Also I keep too many apps for them to be stored on phone memory. Python, Java 2.0, Flash Lite, MS Silverlight for Symbian and Ovi Maps already take up too much space to leave enough for buffer.
2. There is an application manager on the E71. Also, AFAIK the application manager also shows which memory the app is stored in (a little memory card icon beside apps in memory card). It should be in Menu>Tools>Manager
3. The apps are greyed out because you did not uninstall them properly. On the phone memory, where the Oinstallation logs are saved, there is no log of the apps being uninstalled, so Ovi Suite sees them as installed.
FOr the questions in bold:
1. This is done through a firefox plugin. We do not know why, but I suspect its with distribution rights and to make sure that only Nokia phones can access several apps that are exclusive for Nokia users only. For example, Gameloft and Polarbit gave away several paid games for free to Nokia users. If the apps were downloadable in sis files, the game manufacturers would not earn from Sony users who can get the files for their Satio for free through Nokia sites.
2. Not really sure. There are times I receive the SMS instantaneously, sometimes I receive them a few hours late.
3. False. In fact as I already stated above, it is more advisable to install apps in memory card as opposed to phone memory.
4. Also already explained above.

N97 nokia messaging 10.0

After reseting my phone once again and installing all the updates I noticed that one was the nokia messaging side.
When I go into applications > email setup however it will just sit there on "Testing network connections" and not budge.
Is anybody else having issues with this program? Originally I would just use the mail side that comes with the phone but I thought that since they supplied it through the update it must be worth trying.

4 - Then, i get the screen saying : Welcome, Select Start to set up your account on this device.
5- ... Connecting to server..... then, i get this error : Unable to connect to server. Try again later !
I've tried uninstalling many times without succes, could someone help me.

The iPhone has to connect to the cellular network to complete activation. Make sure your iPhone is within the cell network area when trying to activate it.
You can also try Reset Network Settings from Settings > General > Reset.

PC Suite - Nokia 6230

Hi anybody nokia pc suite expert,
Could somebody explain to me any SMS download function of the new PC suite?
The previous version ( came with the Phone ) would download the messages off the phone and onto the PC. I cannot find that function in the latest PC suite, it can do a "backup" (.nbu file) but I want to view the messages that I keep.

N97 Nokia Email 10.0.0.16 Hotmail Issue

HI Guys,
Im frustrated as hell with this and no one can seem to help me.
Ever since i upgraded Nokia Messaging on my N97 to 10.0.0.16 I can no longer recieve any emails on my 2 hotmail email accounts. My gmail, yahoo and corporate account all still work fine.
I have re downloaded the application at least 5 times over the last week or two with same result. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled with same result. I have deleted the 2 mailboxes from my phone, added them again and re-synced with same result.
Is anyone facing this issue?
Nokia Messaging admitted that had a problem with this but claimed it was fixed but its not working for me.

SMS Transferring/downloading/backup : Is there a way to download/port the missing data/SMS to one iPhone without overwriting the new SMS on the newer iPhone? Here is my dilemma. My iPhone quit working and I couldn’t get it fixed as quickly as I needed to. I bought a used iPhone and started using it normally and downloaded the backup from itunes/icloud. There was a large gap in data where the first iPhone didn’t backup when I thought it had. I have SMS data on both phonesnow and I need them for a court hearing. I have since had the other iPhone repaired and working perfectly. Will downloading a backup wipe out the newer SMS data? I am nervous because I can’t lose the information or my case mey be compromised. Any “Real Help” including programs that work to accomplish this would be very helpful. Thank You in advance…

No, direct access to manipulating the phone's filesystem is not permitted for 3rd party apps in the iOS. It can't be done without hacking the phone, which you certainly don't want to do. The messages can be combined and viewed on your computer, but not on a single phone.

Bought bulk sms App and it appears downloaded in iTunes. Can't access my Apps in iTunes and won't download to my my iPhone either, please assist!!!

That is because they only work on iOS devices.
As for the other issue, connect the device, select it in the left hand pane. In the right pane, select the Apps tab. Is Sync Apps checked? Is the specific App(s) checked? Is Automatically sync new apps checked?
Any errors in iTunes or on the device when syncing?

Here is some information that you may find helpful with this issue.
I'm not receiving the verification code via SMS.
Make sure that you have a strong cellular network connection on your phone.
Make sure that your phone number can receive SMS messages. You can do this by asking someone to send you a text message.
Make sure that the correct phone number is associated with your account:
iOS 7.0.3 or later: Tap Settings > iCloud > Account, then tap Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later: Choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number listed under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
If you can't access a device that has iCloud Keychain enabled, you can contact Apple Support and verify your identity to get help completing iCloud Keychain setup.

Downloading SMS to pc

Please help! I need to know how to download sms messages from my Nokia N78. I've tried using the content copier but it doesn't work.
To top it all the screen doesn't work so i'm working somewhat blind!!
If anyone out there can tell me how to download them onto my pc so i can see them please do.

Hi the PC Suite can only copy messages for backups and will be stored under a .nbu file.. I have found a program called SMS Export and can be downloaded free from www.s60.com or mosh.nokia.com this will allow you to save the sms as .txt files on your memory card or to export them via a bluetooth and data cable connection to your PC.. this app is 100% free
