LG Lucid, overheats, won't stay charged, 2nd one I've owned.

I had the first one for a little over a year when one day it decided to overheat, so I took out the battery. Let it cool down, turned it back on, noticed the battery was nearly dead. So I plug it in, it won't charge, and discharges in under in owner. I talk to verizon, they send me another, worked for about two months, maybe, and now it's doing the same thing. I just got on campus for my senior year, and I need a reliable phone, and this isn't. Worst part is, I can't par for a better phone and my term isn't up until may. I don't want to pay $100 a month for unreliable internet, and a phone that chooses when it wants to work, which seems to be very rare when it actually remains reliable and usable.
I need answers or something, because this really is crap.

I would like to enjoy my device at some point too. Currently 45750, I bought it and used it for several months in 43055, as well as 43783 and 45750, even 43706. Lots of areas, but within the same three near counties, mostly. The device was fine in all these places, even Mexico and Alaska, and then come July of 2013, it decided to just stop working altogether. I never got an answer to what happened to it, but I got a new phone and no word of a problem that I had anything to do with. It's the original charger I got with the phone. And now it's starting to do the same thing and I don't have the money to terminate service on a phone I pay a hundred dollars a month to not use.
It needs resolved, or a new phone needs to be administered or something because honestly, as much as individuals pay for these devices, they should be reliable, not something someone gets sucked into and then constantly duped.
Please figure something out.

I currently have a DROID RAZR M and I'm 1 year into my 2 year contract.  Since the Kitkat update, the phone won't stay charged and it's very buggy.  I know this is not Verizons fault but it's also not mine. I would like to change my phone to an iPhone 5s and keep my same plan but switch to the Edge program. Is this possible? I don't think I should have to pay an early termination fee or anything like that since my phone has become almost unusable. I know under normal circumstances you have to wait 2 yrs to upgrade but due to the update and the poor service I'm now getting I hope Verizon can make an exception. Thank you.

How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

What shows it will not stay charged?

  • Driod 4 keeps rebooting itself and battery won't stay charged

What do I do about my droid 4 constantly rebooting itself after the verizon wireless update that was pushed out March 23 or so?
1st my phone was frozen after the update and I had to request a replacement phone.
2nd the replacement phone randomly just reboots, whether I am using it or not.
The battery barley stays charged even when it's on the charger.  I have all the data syncs off
I can't update my apps because the phone says it does not have network access., but I can make call and send text messages.
very upset about this, verizon should have tested the update further before pushing it out.  there was nothing wrong with my original phone, now I h ave a large paper weight that has to stay hooked to the charger.

        Hi alval!
I am sorry to learn of the rebooting issues with your phone after the latest software update. Let's get your phone our the paper weight mode and back into the awesome wireless device that it is! I had similar issues with my phone after the latest software update and I resolved all issues by doing a factory reset http://vz.to/TZvgLF as this clears any third party applications conflicts and any potential system errors created while processing update. Make sure to back up all your important media before doing factory reset as this process deletes all media and bring phone back to original state. Keep us posted.

  • Battery won't stayed charged after latest update on iphone 4

I cannot get the battery on my iphone 4 to stayed charged.  I charged it to 100% before going to bed by morning it was down to 35%. I had turned off automatic push services, made sure there were no open icons. I had spoken with an Apple rep that morning so he instructed me on what I should do.  I've had the iphone 4 since January with no problems at all until I downloaded the latest update ....that's when all my problems with the battery began & my facetime freezes so bad I'm unable to use it & it worked great before the battery problems started.... the battery has lost all charge and I have recharged to 100 % several times and still will not hold charge......any information would be greatly appreciated...I'm so frustrated!!!

    Please define "not working".

  • HT4993 My phone won't stay charge an it stay hot

    My phone won't stay charge

There is probably a program running when on standby. The most common one is Mail; it it can't complete a wireless mail sync it will keep trying forever, even if you press the home button. Another possibility is you have Safari on a site that continuously or periodically updates. To test if this is the problem when you quit Mail or Safari do a force quit instead of just pressing HOME. To force quit an application HOLD the HOME button until the home screen appears instead of just pressing it.
In addition to Mail or another application running in the background, signal strength can make a big difference.
If you are further from the cell tower, or inside buildings that partially block the cell signal, the iPhone like many other cell phones will user more power to try and maintain a signal.
    Also a restore couldn't hurt either http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Help! curve 9300 won't stay charged for more than 8 hours

I'm hoping someone can help... My curve is nearly 2 years old so my warranty is over. I replaced the battery 4 months ago b/c my phone wouldn't stay charged for even 1 day. Virgin said they could do nothing for me so I went ahead and just bought a new battery. The same problem has arose but its getting worse each day. The battery symbol shows its at about 80%, I will send one bbm and it will shut off (and not turn back on) until I plug it in. When I do so the battery is at about 20%. I don't even use my phone all day! So I don't know if the problem is the phone or the battery, but since its a new battery I can't help but to think the problem is the phone. I'll take any suggestions to avoid having to get a new phone.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From what you describe, I fear your deduction (that it is the BB) may be correct. But, to truly know, you must complete the following:
    1) Obtain a known-good and already fully charged battery...put it into your BB and see what happens.
    2) Obtain a known-good and identical BB...put your battery into it and see what happens.
The results of this will give a better indication as to the root of the problem. From your post, you may have partially completed the first part of this...but cannot tell if that new battery was already fully charged when you first used it. It's important to use these precise conditions as they best indicate the root of the problem.
    Good luck!

  • IPod Touch 64GB won't stay charged

I have a iPod touch 64GB that won't keep a charge longer then 1-3 hours even after I fully charge it. My iPod has never done this before nor did it show any sign of battery lose. It seemed to come on after this new upgrade to iTunes, I don't know if that has anything to do with it? I've taken good care of my battery, charging it fully and then using it to the end, I never left it on charge when it was finished charging, and I don't play but one game on it for only a few minutes. Its only use is to play music. I have tried turning it off (Holding off/on/sleep button until it ask me to Power off by sliding) but that has not helped.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

it charges perfectly fine on my PS3 & xBox

    Is it a laptop?
Does it charge OK on another computer?
    Yu can try:

    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • IPod touch 5 won't stay charged??

My boyfriend bought me my new iPod for my birthday (October) and recently it has started to not hold the charge? It will be 100% charged one minute and then 2 hours later it is dead?! I know battery life goes down with age but it's not even a year old yet?! Sometimes the battery goes hot as well! I'm just wondering if I take it to my local apple shop would they give me a new one or send it away?! It's really annoying! I feel like I have to constantly have it on charge. And before anyone asks I haven't dropped it or done any damage to it! I take extra care of it because it wasn't me who payed for it!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. If the iPod is defective and not abused Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one on the spot

  • IPod Touch 5G Won't Stay Charged?

I bought my iPod Touch 5G for $400 in December of 2012, and it worked amazingly for awhile. Unfortunately, I started noticing the battery is struggling to remain fully charged or charged at all. It dies within hours, an having paid $400, you can see why that's a problem. I have tried restarting, resetting, and rebooting. It still holds the same problem. When I charge it, I can't get the full charged symbol in the battery icon. I have tried closing all apps and the email thing, all of that. I have heard a lot of people say the iOS is the reason (6.1.3). I hope this is the problem. What should I do? Should I buy a new one or risk waiting for the new iOS?

    - Try a new cable
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
