LG monitor not working with iMac

I just bought a LG IPS 226v-PN monitor and am using a mini-dsiplayport to HDMI adapter to connect.
The monitor was automatically found and I can see and use it as a dual monitor but I am seen a snow like effect on the screen with pixel randomly activating (looks like snow).
The other problem is the screen keeps turning off and on.
I have switched it to both NTSC and PAL on the iMac. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

The 'snow like effect' you describe could indicate you are experiencing timing/data corruption issues when sending a higher resolution data stream to the display. Could you post a picture showing the issue?
What type of HDMI cable are you using, and how long is it? If it's longer than 10 feet do you have a shorter 6 foot cable that you can test with to determine whether cable length is a factor? Not all cables are created equal.
What type of mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter are you using? Is it a good quality adapter?

External Monitor Not Working With Macbook Pro

My computer was working fine with an external monitor, then my computer froze, and I had to hold down the power button. When I turned it back on, my computer would not work with an external monitor. I've tried different cables, so it's not the cable. The monitor is being detected by the computer, but nothing is showen on the external monitor. I cannot reset the SMC by removing the battery, I do not have the confidence to remove my battery, and do not have the time to send the computer to someone else to do it.
I also tried updating my OS from 10.7.4 (Might've been 10.7.3) to 10.7.5.
My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010), running OS X 10.7.5 Lion.
I need to get this problem fixed ASAP, any help is appreciated.

I forgot to mention, I'm connecting the monitor via MiniDisplay -> HDMI. I've also tried USB -> HDMI and USB -> DVI -> HDMI but none of them seem to work.

Why does Server Monitor not work with non-Xserves?

Does anyone know why Server Monitor does not work with non-Xserve computers? We acquired a Power Mac for a server, based on there being no apparent difference except for the obvious. Turns out there are some differences after all.
Do Power Macs lack some hardware components or is this just a software thing?

God question, unfortunitly I dont have the answer but I would also like to know why the software only works for X-Serve....Is there any 3rd Party Software that is similar to "Server Monitor"?

External DVI monitor not working with new iMac 27"

I recently purchases a 27" iMac and i'm trying to get it working with a 3rd party DVI external monitor. I got the Apple mini display port (thunderbolt) to DVI adapter and connected everything via a new DVI-D cable. The iMac detects there is a monitor and even shows the display as it should.. however, the monitor has a large amount of static/snow/noise (red coloured), so much so that the monitor is unusable. There is also a considerable amount of flickering.
The monitor works fine when connected to a Mac Mini with the Mini DVI - DVI adapter, (old set up) so I know the monitor's connection is not faulty.
Also, the monitor connects fine to the iMac when using a mini display - VGA adapter. The problem really seems to be with the combonation of DVI cable and adapter.
Has anyone had any experiences with DVI monitors connected to new iMacs via the thunderbolt port?
(System: iMac 27" 2011, 3.4GHz i7, 16GB RAM, Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB. All system updates installed, running OSX 10.7.2)

I think that your assessment is right, the ATI must be on for DVI to work (so far I've only tested with an older T61p and the Quadro graphics are always running). Can't you set the machine so that when docked the ATI is used, but on battery the internal video is used? That would be what I would try.

Lexmark P6250 scanner not working with iMac after recent software update, any ideas?

The scanner has always worked with the iMac but after a recent software update only the printer works now. I have searched the apple communities boards and have downloaded a variety of drivers suggested but nothing has solved the issue.
When I load print and scan from system preferences, I select to open the scanner and the process just hangs. I can see the scanner and am able to select to open but not able to scan.
Any ideas on how to resolve?

Unfortunately I have tried this and I have downloaded new drivers and restarted both the iMac and printer/scanner numerous times but I still only have the printer working.
I have tried to use preview via system preferences, print and scan and the when I select open scanner for preview the application hangs. I have also tried to use image capture and there is an error when selecting the scanner device of "Lexmark Language Error". When selecting overview within image capture I am advised that the size tryng to be scanned is too large when nothing has been selected and the default setting are standard size and then image capture hangs.
All features were working fine prior to conducting a software update about 8-10 weeks ago. I have downloaded further software updates which I had hoped would sort this issue but it hasn't.

External Optical Drive not working with iMac

I have a memorex external drive that I have been using to install Windows 7 with boot camp and have successfully used it on 2 mac-mini's. I am not trying to install Windows 7 boot camp on an iMac that has a broken internal optical drive but the external will not run.
I have tried:
- Startup Utility: Can see the external in there.
- External shows up on desktop with Windows 7
- External shows up in disk utility
- Windows shows up in startup menu with holding down Option.
I see iMac SSD Drive, Recovery HD Drive , Windows CD , EFI Boot cd as options.
If I select Windows it takes me to a black screen that says it doesnt see a boot CD clicking on EFI boot does nothing.
Anyone have any possible solutions into getting this to work?

This is confusing. If you have the external Optical Drive (Memorex) connected via USB to the iMac and insert a Windows 7+ DVD in it, the Apple Bootmanager will see OSX, Recovery HD, Windows (if already installed on the iMac's internal drive) and possibly Windows and EFI boot from the DVD.
The Windows and EFI Boot will not work if you try to boot the iMac from the external. Test this from the internal Optical drive as well. If your iMac is a UEFI Mac (2013+) it will let you boot from the DVD directly (without Bootcamp).
Bootcamp Assistant will refuse to let you use the external Optical drive, if you try use it to install Windows. BCA only works with internal Optical drives as far as Windows installation is concerned, on Macs that have a built-in optical drive. The exceptions to this rule are 2012 Macs and some 2011 models.

Monitor not working with new mini

I just bought a non-intel mini. I have a Princeton 17" crt monitor that is only a few years old. I used the included adapter, but my monitor is not recognizing the mini. Any ideas?

I used MSI Live Update 3 and Live BIOS to update my bios. After the update I chose "Yes" to reboot. Then I chose "optimized defaults"
in the bios. After saving settings and rebooting I entered the bios again immediatly and changed the settings.
Could something have gone wrong when flashing the bios?
And yes.. Nvidia Monitor worked with 1.8, but I don't understand why it doesn't work now? And the reboots.. I had those with 1.8 too,
but they seem to occur less frequently now. I don't know if that is related to the bios however.

External speakers not working with iMac and Lion

I have a dual core imac with Lion and external speakers I just bought from Apple. I cannot get them to work with itunes or anything else on the imac. Can anyone tell me what to do? They work well with an ipod touch, but not the iMac.

Hmmm. I plugged the speakers into the headphone jack. they are the Audyssey Lower East Side Media Speakers. When I hoty option on the menu bar, headphones are checked as output. When I go to system preferences and check output, all it says is "headphone port." Still no change.

Airport Express Not Working with iMac G4 and HP laptop

Ok I am really frustrated with this. I had my Airport Express configured to my mac and my old roommate's mac fine. I moved and just tried setting it up with my mac and my new roommate's PC laptop. It did not work. I tried connecting a router to see if that would help. It still didn't work. I reset the airport's default settings and it still didn't work. Is there a connectivity issue between macs and pcs using the airport express that I don't know about? Am I missing something? Can anyone give me some suggestions of what to try next because I am seriously fed up and running out of ideas of how to alleviate this.
Could it have anything to do with a firewall on the pc or the fact that I'm going from a place that supplied me cable internet to a place that now has dsl?

Macs and PCs work together just fine with an Airport Express.
Unfortunately, you have given us little information to help you with beyond simply indicating that "it doesn't work". Please elaborate:
1. do the Mac and PC "see" the Airport Express wireless network?
2. if so, does the Airport Utility (or Airport Admin Utility) on either computer "see" the Airport Express and allow you to view/change its configuration?
3. what does the status light on the Airport Express show?
4. if you can connect to the Airport Express wireless network from the PC and/or Mac, is the only problem that you cannot access the internet?
5. what kind of reset did you do? To really start from scratch, do a factory default reset as described here.

Iphone 6 not working with imac

I have tried to download Yosemite so that my imac 2010 (OSX 10.6.8) will sync with my new iphone6 - but the yosemite icon is just sitting on tool bar saying - waiting -for several hours now - Do I need to download an earlier operating system before I can download Yosemite and is this why my imac is not syncing with iphone 6 or is it a different issue? In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed and your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model.

T-Bolt Display not working with iMac Retina

When I replaced my Late 2012 iMac with the new iMac Retina, the Thunderbolt Display I use for a second monitor would not come on and is not visible in the iMac's "Displays" preferences. Has anyone had this problem? I tried rebooting the iMac, but no luck.
According to Apple, this iMac IS capable of outputting to two Thunderbolt displays. I have the upgraded video card in the iMac.

Ugh. I'm an idiot. I never imagined the Apple Thunderbolt/mini-DP cable would go bad between unplugging the old mac and plugging in the new one. I tried a different cable and the display came on. Problem solved!

New Bluetooth Keyboard Not Working with iMac 2005

I just purchased a refurbished 2009 wireless Mac keyboard for my computer at work to replace the old outdated one. However, when I try getting it to connect I encounter a problem. While its being picked up by the bluetooth just fine, it tells me that it is unable to actually connect. It tells me the keyboard itself does not have the 'services' required to connect to the computer. I'm not sure what this means? This is not an issue I have ever encountered before. If anyone can assist me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.

i have the same problem Also using an iMac21 inch late 2012. Has been working perfectly until 10.10.3. Now when the iMac wakes from sleep neither the mouse or keyboard are connected. The only recourse is to force a hard restart with the power button.
i have tried all your above items and also to no avail. I have set sleep to wait indefinitely & that has resolved my issue. Albeit with an increase in energy use.
I Would be grateful if anybody had some tips on how to resolve this situation.

HP 2311xi Monitor not working with HDMI? - Windows 8

I have my RCA 6ft HDMI cable plugged into the back of my computer, and running to the back of my monitor. I can see my background, and the bottom tab showing files, internet, etc. But nothing else. No time, sound, or date in the bottom right corner, and all my programs are missing. I have to switch back to DVI for everything to work. I am confused how I get connection with HDMI, but my programs are missing? - Please Help

I understand things aren't quite working as expected with HDMI and the 2311xi monitor.
Is the monitor being connected to a notebook or a desktop PC?
What model is the PC?
If it is an HP PC, what is the product number?
As far as sound goes, have you verified in the sound manager that the HDMI port is selected as the sound output? Sound may still be defaulted to the analog sound output similar to when DVI is used.
Go to Start, search for Sound and open the result under Control Panel.
Verify that HDMI is selected.
if HDMI, or the monitor is not listed, then let me know what options are available. You may need to right-click and select show hidden/disabled devices.

27 monitor not working with windows 8

I have Windows 8 running with Bootcamp 5 installed on MBP 15" Retina. Thunderbolt is working for networking and other peripherals - EXCEPT my 27" monitor. I can't load the Intel drivers because an error message of "not supported" keeps popping up. Can anyone help -please?

When I run the program compatability troubleshooter, I get an error message that states incompatable program. I have tried switching from Windows 7 to Windows XP (SP 3) and the Reader still exhibits the same behavior, in either system.
protected11.zip and Acrofix.zip - this is what states that it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)
To uninstall the program, I went to my control panel and did it that way. Then I went to Adobe's website to download the lates version

Boot Camp 5.1 not working with iMac late 2013 3 TB

I tried to use Boot Camp 5.1 on my new iMac with 3TB FD. I bought a Win 8.1 OEM DVD with key.
I followed the instructions of Boot Camp (deselcted the first step with ISO because I have the DVD). When it comes to the windows installation I can't select the BOOTCAMP partition because of the used GPT-style.
I thought this problem was fixed with OS X 10.9 and Boot Camp 5.1.
Do you have any ideas?

You will need to burn a DVD using Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD and use it for Windows installation.
