LG phones and macbook pro

I just bought an LG env touch and from what I am understanding it is not compatible with a mac, however the bluetooth on the phone recognizes the mac and has place a folder on my mac. Is it compatible in some way? How do you suggest I get music from my mac to my phone? and what is a good phone to get comparable from verizon? I still can return it.

Is it compatible in some way?
Probably for Bluetooth file transfers if the phone supports that Bluetooth profile.
How do you suggest I get music from my mac to my phone?
Send the files to the phone using the *Bluetooth File Exchange* application on your Mac. The files will have to be in a format the phone supports.
what is a good phone to get comparable from verizon?
Very few, if any, phones supplied by Verizon are compatible with iSync.
Verizon Blackberry Devices are Mac compatible using the Blackberry Desktop Manager software from Blackberry themselves.
Verizon's Droid is Mac compatible using Markspace's Missing Sync for Android.
Verizon's Palm Pre is Mac compatible using Markspace's Missing Sync for Palm Pre.

  • Phone and macbook pro synch problems

When I synch my iphone with macbook pro, it duplicates the entries on the iphone calender.  I cannot edit some of the entries on iphone either.

If the HDD maker offers some kind of cloud service, maybe. Cause Apple's iCloud only works with Apple products. And recent ones only, please.

  • I have a micro SD card that I use between my Samsung phone and MacBook Pro. I can copy data from it, but I can't put data on it from my comp; only my phone. Why can't I?

I also use an adaptor so it can fit in the micro SD slot on my mac. Does that make any difference? The files are the same format, too. For example: some music files on the card are .mp3 and some other music files on my mac are .mp3 as well. I'm not sure what's going on here.

    1. Sorry i wasn't specific about the version of NTFS 3G, this link http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/2010/10/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-2010102.html is the free version, you may see the known issues, although i don't have any problems with the app.
    2. Fat32 shouldnt be a problem :S, ill try it myself tomorrow (i don't have my mac with me right now).
Edit: One thing kinda obvious and may have overlooked, the micro sd adapter usually has a lock mechanism on the left side, is it locked? if so unlock it.

  • How do I sun all my messaging from phone, iPad mini, and macbook pro?

How do I sun all my messaging from phone, iPad mini and MacBook Pro? I want to be able to see all my messages from any device? Thank you for the help in advance.

Read this kb article for detailed instructions on how you can do this. I sync all of my messages from my iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and MacBook Pro.

  • If my iphone, ipad, MAC and macbook pro are all linked, and then I upgrade only my phone to iOS 7.0, does that have an effect on my calendar, etc.  It doesn't seem to be showing the same data it was before the update.  Lost lot of info from calendar.

If my iphone, ipad, MAC and macbook pro are all linked, and then I upgrade only my ipone to IOS 7.0, does that have an effect on the linking to my other MAC products.  It seems my calendar has lost a lot of information since the upgrade.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

  • IMac and Macbook Pro no longer connecting to the Wifi?

    Hi there,
I've been in London this weekend, only to return home to find issues connecting to my wifi. Weirdly, it's only the iMac and Macbook Pro having trouble, everything else is connecting fine e.g iPad, Phone, Android Tablet etc.
I'm getting disconnected around every 20 seconds and cannot figure it out! It's so frustrating as I'm wondering if there's been an update released for OS X that it has downloaded recently? Especially seeing that when I run windows from bootcamp on my iMac, it doesn't disconnect. And I also don't believe it's an issue with the hub.
Has anyone got any suggestions? I've tried removing the network and re-adding, help for about an hour but still not much use.
    Thanks, Matt

  • Can I connect my iPad and MacBook Pro both via an iPhone hotspot?

First, a little background. I have an aging MacBook Pro (~5 years old), and my netbook was smashed on the way to work last night. My cell phone (not an iPhone) crapped out a few weeks ago.
So my first priority is to replace my netbook with an iPad. When I can afford it, I also want to upgrade to a new MacBook Pro. I've also been thinking of getting an iPhone.
One thing that always confuses me is Internet connections. I currently connect my MacBook Pro to the Internet via Verizon and use T-Mobile for my cell phone.
I was surprised when an Apple salesman told me the iPhone has a "hotspot" that I can use to connect both an iPad and MacBook Pro to the Internet. But an Apple salesman at another store told me the hotspot will connect the iPad.
Can anyone offer some details? I've been browsing some of the other threads, but I still don't really understand what a hotspot is. Am I correct in understanding that as long as I have an iPhone with me, I can use it to connect my iPad to the Internet? Can I similarly use it to connect a MacBook Pro (either my 4-year-old+ model or a new model)?
What kind of connection speed does a hotspot offer? I do a lot of websurfing and web design. Would a hotspot connection be about as fast as my current connection via Verizon?
Also, is the hotspot feature available with either AT&T or Verizon?
    Thanks.

Your hotspot will be billed by AT&T or Verizon based on your iPhone's model. Only the iPhone 4 from Verizon would allow a Verizon hotspot. Others have posted information revealing that the Verizon 3G connection is somewhat slower than the AT&T service. Also, the Verizon service suspends the use of hotspot when you take a phone call. The AT&T service continues during calling.
Selecting the hotspot feature under General> Settings> Personal Hotspot will change your data plan from your previous 250MB, 2GB, or unlimited amount to a new 4GB plan that includes tethering. AT&T charges me $45 instead of my Unlimited, but No Tethering Allowed, $30.
You can connect three devices that have WiFi. Verizon hotspots can connect five. Your speed should be about the same as the iPhone 4 browsing speed on 3G. If your phone is on WiFi, the devices need to connect separately to that WiFi, not to your hotspot. I would love to see a software update that allows my WiFi connection to be shared, so I don't have to manually connect the iPods that my boys use one at a time.

  • How can I have contacts on iPhone show up on iPad and MacBook Pro? All are backed up to iCloud.

Is it possible for all contacts to appear on all 3 of my Apple devices regardless of on which device they are entered?  I have an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and MacBook Pro; I'd like to see the same contacts on all. All three devices already back up to iCloud. Thanks!

No you haven't misunderstood if you have those settings on. The contacts on your phone should automatically sync to the other devices. They should also be viewable/editable at https://www.icloud.com

  • Airport, 10.5.8, and MacBook and MacBook Pros and slow internet

Disclaimer: Apple does not necessarily endorse any suggestions, solutions, or third-party software products that may be mentioned in the topic below. Apple encourages you to first seek a solution at Apple Support. The following links are provided as is, with no guarantee of the effectiveness or reliability of the information. Apple does not guarantee that these links will be maintained or functional at any given time. Use the information below at your own discretion.
If you have Macbook or MacBook Pro, and have upgraded to 10.5.8, you may experience slower than normal airport connection due to a bug found in the original 10.5.8 installer. Apple has released this update for MacBooks and MacBook Pros to address the issue:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/AirPortClient_Update_for_MacBook_and_MacBookPro
To amend what Apple has stated, the System Profiler will indicate you have one of these three MacBook/Pro CPUs:
    o MacBook3,1
    o MacBook4,1
    o MacBookPro4,1
If you have certain third party routers the update above will not help. In which case, it is recommended that you contact the third party router manufacturer for a firmware update, and find out also if others have your exact same router, and have found a resolution with your issue.
Wireless issues can be caused by the following:
    1. Interference on the same wireless channel.
    2. Single channel connection from some third party routers not being strong enough to deal with interference. Apple Airport Express, Extreme, and Time capsule wireless routers all support dual channel connections, and also support networking with Windows as well as Mac.
    3. Bad router tables in your router.
    4. Power surges.
    5. Interference from microwaves, or 2.4 Ghz non-cell wireless phones, whose signal is not tempered with channel hopping.
    6. Distances less than 2 feet may have many overlapping wireless waves causing interference from the wireless router.
    7. Distances greater than 150 feet from the wireless router.
    8. Walls with numerous pipes, improper ground wiring, file cabinets with numerous papers between the computer and the router.
    9. Run the hardware test that came with your computer, it may indicate an issue on the logicboard which could also impact your wireless card.
    10. Improper security on your wireless connection. Setting up a WPA2 connection is preferred over WEP, which is preferred over no password.
    11. 802.11n is a draft standard, meaning not all routers support it the same way.
    12. Data corruption in the wireless cache settings, caused by improper system maintenance:

  • MacBook and MacBook Pro Battery Update

    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
Apple has recently discovered that some batteries used in its MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks may have battery performance issues. Apple is offering a software update that is designed to improve battery performance.
The battery update is available immediately via Software Update or downloadable here.
Note: The factors causing the performance issues do not present a safety risk. You may continue to use your current battery.
This battery update should be run on all MacBook and MacBook Pro computers and extra batteries that were purchased between February 2006 and April 2007.
If, after you have installed the battery update, your battery has any of the symptoms listed below, please make a reservation to bring your computer with its battery to your local Apple Retail Store, or contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP), or call your local Apple Support Contact Center. If Apple or an AASP determines that your battery is eligible for replacement, you will receive a new battery, free of charge, even if your MacBook or MacBook Pro is out of warranty.
For MacBook and MacBook Pro systems with Intel Core Duo processors, this program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer.
    Identifying an affected battery
Affected batteries will have one or more of the following symptoms:
Battery is not recognized causing an “X” to appear in the battery icon in the Finder menu bar.
Battery will not charge when computer is plugged into AC power.
Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300.
    Battery pack is visibly deformed.
Note: If your MacBook or MacBook Pro battery does not have any of the symptoms noted above, your battery does not need to be replaced.
    Next Steps
To participate in this worldwide program, your MacBook or MacBook Pro battery must show the symptoms noted above. If it does, please make a reservation to bring your computer and battery to your local Apple Retail Store, or contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP), or call your local Apple Support Contact Center. The U.S. support number is 1-800-275-2273. If you are located outside the U.S., please see Apple's international contact list for your local Apple Technical Support phone number. An Apple technical support representative or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) will determine if the battery is eligible for replacement, free of charge. Customers are responsible for transportation costs to eligible AASPs and retail stores.
If a replacement battery is sent to you via airmail, it is important that you return the older battery to Apple so that it can be properly recycled.
This program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer for Intel Core Duo-based MacBook and MacBook Pro computers. Apple will continue to evaluate the battery update program and will provide further extensions as needed. Apple also reserves the right to modify the program if other solutions that address the battery performance issues become available.

For MacBook and MacBook Pro systems with Intel Core Duo processors, this program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer.
Pretty nice change for those C2D's
