LG Plasma TV doesn't recognize any of my Apple products

I am the proud owner of a brand new LG Plasma TV. I just went out and purchased $80 worth of adapters to be able to connect my ipad, ipod touch and iphone to this tv. Imagine my astonishment when I found that the tv refuses to recognize any apple product at all!! I used an HDMI cable and hooked it to an apple AG digital adapter. I called LG directly and they said it is Apple's issue.....I called Apple and they want to charge me $29 to "do some troubleshooting" that may or may not work. Anybody else with this problem?? Anybody solved a similar problem?

Yes I did....LG admits their TV's won't work with Apple products. They say that it is an issue with Apple's safeguards. However the tech said that other people have had the same issues and have managed a work around. I don't think I want to pay Apple another $29 for a workaround that might or might not work

  • ITunes doesn't sync any of my apple products and ONLY CDs are not appearing on iMac

This has been happening for a while now and I haven't been able to sync my iPhone to my
iMac and that applies to my iPod too. Anybody know a way to
Fix this because I really need to sync them.
Also NO CDs are appearing on the mac or on iTunes but DVd s work though?

Do you have the at least the minimum required versions of OS X AND iTunes installed on your iMac, that iOS 5 Requires in order to properly sync?
    Hope this helps

  • Tecra M4 - DVD drive doesn't recognize any disk under Vista

    Hi,
after the installation of Vista my dvd drive doesn't recognize any disks !
No upgrade from XP! It was a clean Vista installation.
I found several links about the registry entries upper and lower filter this entries doesn't exist in my registry under the class CDROM.
I tested the drive under XP it works fine and recognizes everything.
Drivers are correctly installed no problems in the device manager is prompted.
So i have no idea how to get it working, seems to be a Vista problem
Could any one help me ? I'm really frustrated about this
    Thanks for your help

    Maybe this helps:
    - Remove the CD/DVD drive from the device manager.
    - Then access the registry and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    - Then reboot the notebook
But what happens exactly? What disks are not recognized?

  • SpeedGrade doesn't recognize any of my clips

I have installed SpeedGrade CC, but it doesn't recognize any of my video clips, no thumbnails are shown and Adobe says "Error reading file". I have AVCHD clips, Canon EOS 7D clips, and some froma GoPro Hero3, none of these are recognized.

Here you have a list of supported formats: http://helpx.adobe.com/speedgrade/using/file-formats.html  AVCHD and MP4 are not supported, but if Canon 7D files are in Quicktime wrapper, it should be readed.

  • I installed Lion, now my dvd drive doesn't recognize any files on dvd. Please help.

I'm a photographer with tons on images on dvd and my dvd drive now doesn't recognize any files on any of my dvd's. Help!!!

After 3 trips to the Apple store this week, the issue is still unresolved. The photo dvd's open just fine on Snow Leopard, but are not recognized at all on Lion. I'm guessing since the DVD's were originally burned on a PC, they will no longer work. After finding out that PowerPC is no longer recognized by Lion and I can no longer use Nikon NX2 (Photo editing software), I will be re-installing Snow Leopard. According to the Apple store in Lancaster, Pa. there is no refund available for my Lion purchase. I have a ton of photo DVD's, most of which will not open since I've only recently switched to an IMAC system. It has made me think about returning to the PC world. I'm VERY unhappy with these developments and I really need to re-think my computer situation. I don't do much else besides photography. My purchases and time spent with my IMAC has aparently been a great waste.

  • I CAN NO LONGER SYNC ANY OF MY APPLE PRODUCTS, WHEN I ATTACH THE I-PAD TO THE COMPUTER VIA USB IT DOES NOT TRY TO CONNECT TO THE PRODUCT,  I HAVE CHANGED CORDS, USB PORTS LOCATIONS, RE-INSTALLED I-TUNES.  THIS STARTED AFTER MORE RAM WAS ADDED

I CAN NO LONGER SYNC ANY OF MY APPLE PRODUCTS TO I=TUNES, I HAVE CHANGED CORDS, CHANGED USB LOCATIONS, TRIED DIFFERENT ((I-PAD, I-PHONE) AND NONE WILL TRY TO SYNC.  I HAVE RE-INSTALLED I-TUNES. NOTHING WORKS.  THIS STARTED WHEN RAM WAS ADDED TO COMPUTER.

Hi, can you take the RAM out and try again?  Sounds strange that RAM would cause this.
What computer type are you using and what OS?

Since you give no clue as to what make/model/version WiFi router you are using or how you have it configured it's hard to comment.

  • Macbook Pro 15" USB PORT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE ANY DEVICE.

I got my macbook pro 15" for about 1 year and 2 weeks ago, when I turned on my macbook and put my mouse ( Death Adder) into the USB PORT, my macbook DOESN'T RECOGNIZE IT. There are 2 usb ports on my macbook, I tried both port and there was only one port work correctly, the other one didn't work at all, I also tried to put my memory stick, external hard drive, vodafone 3g usb, ipod,....into that USB PORT but non of them worked. Is there any one here have the same problem???? Can you guy help me please. I stay quite far away from Apple Store so it is hard to bring it to repair. I tried to reset SMC, Update Software,...but still not work...HELP ME PLEASE...

I can't fault your troubleshooting. Sounds like a bad port.
Home remedies are limited. You can grab a magnifier and shine a flashlight in there. If you see any foreign material, use a toothpick or other non-conductive tool to extract it. If you can, give it a good blast of (dry, canned) compressed air to blow any particles loose.
Sometimes you can trick a flaky USB port into working at least intermittently by plugging in an extension cable or right-angle connector. Play with a device that lights up so it's easy to see whether it's working.
Take a hard look inside the connectors at the end of your Death Adder and other frequently-used devices. If you see any corrosion or bent pins, that's what damaged your USB port.
If the port requires physical repair, it's best to use Apple or an authorized dealer because if they make things worse while trying to fix it, they have to make it right. Joe's Appliance isn't similarly accountable.
If you need more USB ports, ExpressCard to USB adapters are dirt cheap.
    Good luck.

  • Anyone knows what do do when iMac doesn't recognize any USB or Bluetooth?

    Hello,
if anyone can help, please. my iMac does not recognize anything I plug into the USB ports in the back. I can't use any keyboard or mouse or track pad. It does not recognize any bluetooth such as magic mouse, wireless keyboard or track pad. When I plug in an older keyboard or mouse it does not see it at all either. don't know what to do. Can't do anything on the computer, which otherwise seems to be working fine, except everything I was using is frozen on the desktop. any advise?

Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try again.

  • Drive doesn't recognize ANY DVDs  or CDs?

Can someone explain real simple stupid like how to try to get my DVD/CD player to recognize disks again. I have a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-103 in my G4 am using Tiger 10.4.3. After installing Tiger my computer has fallen to pieces and this is the last one. Now I am seriously considering cleaning out the entire machine and starting anew as I have a G5 on order. Problem is how can I even reinstall is my DVD drive won't recognize any disks? It spins and spins and spits out the DVD. It will read nothing.
    Thanks, Steph

One day the Pioneer DVR-106 drive I had in my G4 MDD stopped working it would accept disks. I tired everything. calls to apple care didnt help since this was an upgrade I added. I read everything on every site.
finally took the drive out of the computer and as I turned it over I heard a rattle. it had never rattled before. A search of posts on www.xlr8yourmac.com lead me to a posting about parts inisde the drive failing and in some cases some miniscule part could cause the drive to fail to read any disc. I was at my wits end and decided what the heck I was planning on Buying a new DVD-R drive anyway, so I opened the puppy up. I put everything out on my white utility table and took care to track every screw. To give me a reference point to how the drive looks and works I took apart a different CDROM drive that no longer worked. I noticed both units were similar internally.
well to make a long story short the culprit was a piece of dust that had got onto the Laser Lens and a piece of metal, some spring that lodged itself near the midle. It was magnetized and stuck to the drive middle area. I took the piece out and crossed my fingers. put it back together and decided to put it in an External 5.25" FW400 case which i have a few siting around for when I pull old HD's. Plugging in the now external Pioneer DVR-106 the unit turned on a-ok and voila the Mac recognized it and was able to read every DVd and CD and perfomred a succesflu burns for many DVD data discs and Audio CD's.
I posted my experience on xlr8yourmac.com and I am pretty sure I lucked out. But hey worse comes to worse, you can always pop that puppy open and see whats there. never know.
good luck anyway and you probably just better of to buy a new OEM Pioneer Superdrive, OWC aka macsales.com has some good bundles also Newegg.com has better deals for people who just want the Bare drive sans disks, cables, etc.

  • Satellite 1900 (PS192E) - Doesn't recognize any CD/DVD

    Hey all,
I have just bought a Toshiba Satellite 1900 (PS192E) and put an old 20GB HDD into it from an old laptop.
When I boot up, the display is in VGA 16 colour mode, it recognises the DVD drive but doesn't recognise any CD/DVD when inserted. I have tried to install and run Toshibas "driver robot" utility but the display is such that I can't see the whole screen to start the scan.
If there is anyone out there that could give me some guidance I'd be hugely appreciative.
    Many thanks
    James

Maybe the drive is faulty, or the lens is dirty.
Can you boot from bootable CD's? If yes, then Windows may have the incorrect filters.
Try removing the CD/DVD Filters from the Registry.
When CD/DVD related software is installed (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), they install filters into the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.
    1) Run Regedit (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
    2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3) In the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key, and delete the "LowerFilters" key.
    4) Reboot.
If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).
This utility can remove the filters for you:
