LG Revolution isn't receiving text messages?

I got my cell phone on Black Friday, I was so excited and no I am just frustrated. I don't receive text messages half the time and my phone randomly turns off and on. Is there anyway to fix the text message problem because as a young adult that is how I mostly communicate. Please and thank you.

Hi hkell:
I can understand why you're frustrated with the problems that you've listed. There are a few suggestions I can think of to ensure your issue is resolved. For the texting problem, are you using any 3rd party messaging applications? If so, please remove them and retest using the stock messaging application. If your device is resetting intermittently, I would recommend performing a factory reset on your Revolution.  This will rule out any issues potentially caused by 3rd party applications.
You can also ensure that your software is up to date. You can check the current version of software here and see if your software is up to date.
If neither of those has helped in resolving your concern, please feel free to send me a DM. I've followed you to ensure this is possible.  We also have a Warranty Center (Tech Support) line that can reached at 866-406-5154 for troubleshooting.

  • LG Revolution not receiving text messages from iphone user

I am not receiving text messages from iphone user, sporatically.  The messages are showing as reveived on Verizon website in usage detail, but not being received on my phone.

This issue needs fixed asap! I have a few suggestions that should help you get this resolved. If they are showing up in the usage details, that means they are hitting the Verizon network, but for some reason they are not showing up on the phone.   I recommend clearing the cache from your messaging/text messaging programs. Go to settings> applications> manage apps> all> Messaging/Text Messaging> Force Stop/Clear Cache/Clear Data. Erase the old text threads that you have saved and retry.
If that doesn't work, please let us know the following:
    1) Do they come in delayed or not at all?
    2) Do you have any 3rd party messaging apps installed?
    3) Do they have any problems receiving messages from you?
    4) When they're sending messages, are they directly to you, or do you have this problem when the iPhone user sends to a group of people?
Thanks for the additional info! I'm sure we can find a fix.

  • LG Revolution receiving text messages

I just got this phone on 7/1. It was all programmed and I started using it. I was both sending and receiving text messages. I noticed that since 7/3 I have not been receiving text messages. I can still send them. I am sure it is probably something I did, but have no clue. I powered the phone down (without battery removal) and powered back up. Still no texts receive.

    Hi Missjennfur1,
Are you having issues receiving any text messages or receiving replies back to your text messages? I would try doing a soft reset on your device. Afterwards, send a message to a person asking them to reply back to your message. If the reply message does not come through, contact the person to ask what error messages did they see when they tried to send you a reply. Also, use this link to our website site. You can send yourself a message. If the message does not go through, it will give you back the results with an error message that will shed more light on the issue with posting back the results you observed. If you need additional assistance afterward trying these suggestions, send me a private message with your information.

  • C1-01 not receiving text messages

    Can send text messages.
Have removed then replaced sim arnd battery.  Have reset all factory settings BUT can not receive any text messages.  No tone to alert me.  No envelope icon and nothing in the inbox.  Can any one help?

Same here. I bought two from office works, both stubbornly refuse to receive text message. They send text messages, receive phone calls and everything else I have tested seems to work. Telstra assure me it isn't their end, and I believe them. I have followed all the instructions from the Nokia help line including re-flashing the firmware, all to no avail. I guess I'll be taking them back to office works...

  • I can't receive text messages (sms) when imessage is turned on

I can't receive text messages (sms) when imessage is turned on.
i only receive sms when i turn imessage off, this just started yesterday after i switched from my 5s to the iphone 6.
    this is very frustrating

    Hi shineshinebobo,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you are not receiving sms messages. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
If you can't send and receive SMS
You will need these to send and receive SMS:
    An iPhone
A strong cellular network connection through a cellular network provider
A domestic SMS plan from your cellular provider (You might need an international messaging plan to send SMS to an international contact. Contact your carrier for more information)
A roaming SMS plan when you use a cellular provider's network that is different from your billing cellular provider's network (Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.)
To resolve issues sending and receiving SMS, follow these steps
Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
Make sure that you have a cellular network signal in the status bar of your iPhone. If there's no signal, learn more about troubleshooting no service.
    Restart your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Remove your SIM card and insert it again.
If you still can't send or receive SMS, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact who's trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that you're using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need to use the contact's international code.
If you're using a "Pay as you go" SMS plan, make sure it has enough available balance. Contact your carrier if you're unsure of your SMS plan or the available balance.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact from the Contacts app. Send a new message to the contact.
Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process might not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
Contact your carrier to confirm that you're provisioned for sending SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
Contact your carrier to verify there are no blocks or filters placed on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL  incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive)  other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem  solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before.  Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Is there a software in which I can hook up my iPhone 4s to my computer and send and receive text messages and calls (via headset) through my computer?

Is there a software in which I can hook up my iPhone 4s to my computer and send and receive text messages and calls (via headset) through my computer? Whether it's free or cost money, can someone please give me a name of a program or software that allows me to do this? I can't seem to find anything like this for the iPhone.

    No.

  • How do I stop my macbook from receiving text messages from my iPhone?

After I updated my macbook to Yosemite, I started receiving text messages on it from my iPhone.  I want to turn this off, how do I do this?

    Hi,
    Temporary.
You could Disable the account on the Mac.
You can untick the Receive At option for the iPhone Number as "Alias".
This will cut the number rather stop them completely.
    More permanent.
Sign Out button on the Mac version.
Messages will work but the iMessage account will not have an ID to log in with (it will show but will need the password. you change the ID but entering a new one.
    Permanent.
Remove the Apple ID for the Settings for the iPhone version.
iOS 8.1 and Yosemite will also allow or can be set up for Text Forwarding as it is called in the settings on the iPhone.
Effectively the two become paired  (needs a code number that appears on one to be entered on the other device) rather than just "happening".
This does allow SMS Messages to also be synced between the two.
I am not sure you are talking about this though.
If we have missed what you are after you will have to give more details.

I CAN NOT RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM PEOPLE USING IMESSAGE

On an iPhone your iMessages will go to your phone number.
You can select another email to use on iPod or iPad.
    Go to settings
    Messages
    Send and receive
Check your phone number and uncheck the common Apple ID you share so your messages will not go to other devices.

  • My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID.  We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another.

My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID. We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another. Is the cause of this because we share the same Apple ID? Will we have to set up 2 separate primary email addresses to be able to  send and receive Tex Messages to one another? Like I said, we share the same email address and woul like to keep it that way to keep up with our email together. Is there a way to by-pass having to set up 2 primary emaill addresses if this is the problem?
    Thanks.

go to the settings and turn off imessage
but that don't change the issue that you will never be able to facetime eachtoher
the appleID is really meant as the handle that identify you it was not meant to be shared
but can see that people may want to do not buy apps more then once

  • The names of my contacts are not showing up when I receive text messages

The names of my contacts are not showing up when I receive text messages, only the number is showing up. How can I fix this?

This is a HUGE iOS bug.. Following a tip from another poster, I was able to fix the issue (temporarily).
This worked for me on Verizon.
I dialed *228 on my Verizon phone. I pressed "1" to activate it over the air. I then went into task manager and killed all the running apps.. Waited a few minutes.
The next text I got displayed the number correctly!.. Until I rebooted, that is.
PLEASE, call Apple and speak with a senior engineer on this. They can't fix it if they don't know it's a problem! (800) MY-IPHONE

Upgraded from iphone to a Samsung and now i am unable to receive text messages from other iphone users unless they disable imessage .
Being my original number was on an iphone is why this is happening .
Please help. Almost everyone has an iphone

You should have turned iMessage off before disabling the phone. Do you still have the phone so you can turn iMessage off? If not, you will need to go to Apple support on their website and delete the product from your profile.

Ever since I enabled iMessage on my Mac Airbook, I can no longer receive text messages from the iMessage people on my iPhone, only on my iMessage now!!  How do I get the messages to reach both iMessage and iPhone??

We are suffering very similar issues when communicating from my iphone to a friend who has both iphone and iPad enabled.
As long as I reply to an existing text chain, then it is visible on the target iphone.  If I SMS the phone number, it gets routed to the IPAD!!   And NO, I should not have to disable imessage when I want to send an SMS!!
