LG Spectrum Problem

Have had a pretty good time with LG Spectrum till now.
Phone randomly turns off then back on.
Phone is also overheating .
Except for newest software upgrade (which has not shown up on my phone yet) phone is updated.
Have bought a new battery and using new battery in case this issue was a battery issue
Anyone else having these problems?
ALSO VERIZON PLEASE GET MORE VENDORS TO MAKE COVERS/CASES PLEASE

This sounds like you have a bad battery. My battery gets warm, but does not effect the holding of the phone. I normally plug my phone into its charger before I go to bed and remove it when I wake up, normally around 6 to 7 hours. By the time I replug it, it normally is, on the average, at 48 per cent. I should mention that I do have the extended battery. This is with normal usage, a few phone calls lasting from 5 minutes to an hour. Surfing the net for about an hour; I have the Google Book and read for about 45 minutes. Email both sending and receiving is also done in a day's time. I don't play games and do use bluetooth when I'm driving. I do have one question, are you using the supplied charger or a charger you had from a previous phone, or a third party charger? If so, this may be the problem. If not, I'd look into getting a new battery.

  • Color picker spectrum problems in Ps6

For some reason the color picker in Ps6 on my studio computer is not cooperating. On my home computer (loaded with the same ps6 ) the color picker spectrum goes from white at the top left to black at the bottom. So I can make a color darker by moving the cursor towards the bottom and lighter by moving it towards the top left.  It remained the same hue (red for example) but I could add white or black. This is also the way it is supposed to be, according to the Photoshop Cs6 book I have.
Now there is no way to add white or lighten the color by moving the cursor. Instead moving the cursor changes the hue.  Red becomes hot pink if I move the cursor to the right. It becomes bright blue if I move the cursor to the bottom right.
Also, the slider bar to the right performs differently. On my home computer it shows all the colors of the rainbow. On the studio computer it only shows a spectrum of the foreground color to the background color, in this case yellow to red.  No blue, no purple, no green, etc.
How can I get the color picker to behave?
    Marian

It's behaving just fine. It's all a matter of which of the fields in the lower right has its radio button highlighted. For instance, if Hue is highlighted, the vertical slider shows a Hue spectrum, and the square box sets the Brightness and Saturation.

  • LG Spectrum has a spectrum of problems with no solution

My phone (and my son has the same exact phone) shuts off at any given time, does a complete factory reset on its own sometimes, doesn't transmit text messages sometimes (both incoming and outgoing), does not allow calls to come through sometimes, battery doesn't hold a good charge, and so on.  I know LG made a crappy phone and Verizon attempted to "fix it," and I know Verizon has a good service, and I have been with them for over 12 yrs., but really, I think it is time to start looking at other carriers.  I have tried to get other phones to replace these, and I cannot afford the outrageous prices, but Verizon will not cooperate to fix it and really do not want a "refurbished" phone as it will most likely have problems and Verizon will not cover it.  I have insurance for my phone (both of them), but it doesn't cover program malfunctions.  What is a single Mom supposed to do?  Oh, I can't get a new "free" phone until 2015, as I have just recently purchased (they were free and now I totally see why) these phones.  I will never purchase another LG phone!!!  Does anyone else have problems like this and had any success with Verizon on exchanging them for a better phone?  Waiting for a response . . . . .

  • Does anybody have a new Spectrum that is having battery problems?

I have a new Spectrum and I love the phone, buuut  I go to bed with the battery at 100% and when I get up it is around 35% and I have the data shut off from 6 pm to 6 am.  I love the phone but don't know if I can tolerate the battery life of this phone!

    Hello AJSmom63,
The LG Spectrum is a wonderful new 4G device with a large 4.5 inch screen and HD apps like Netflix HD. This device is one of the top contenders in the smartphone market! I see that the community members have provided some excellent advice on how to resolve the battery issue that you are having. Below, I have also provided some steps on how to get the most out of your battery.
Verify what functions are using the most battery life. (see demmo86rt's posting above)
Turn off bluetooth and wi-fi when not in use.
Adjust e-mail delivery settings. (change to hourly intervals instead of 15 minute intervals)
Turn off location based services when not in use.
    Adjust screen brightness.
Drain the battery completely at least once per month.
Purchase an extra or extended battery.
Delete any unused apps or widgets from the home screen(s).
Once you have tried the steps above, let me know if the battery's performance has changed. If you are still experiencing this issue then we can look into the 14-day echange policy or warranty replacement options, whichever is applicable.
    Thank you...

  • Spectrum 2 7 days old and problems already

    1.  Will charge data when using WIFI.  Verizon rep states they are working on fix.   However i just bought this for a teenager on a limited plan!!!!
    2.  When engaging voicemail the screen goes black when it asks for a password.  takes 3 attempts.
    3.  Email alerts but no new email to view.  this started today.
    4.  Hit a button and it registers as the buttons around it .. or moves to diff screen.
i have a week left to return,  am really concerned about #1.
How can Verizon expect us to turn off data, turn on wifi, and vice versa.....it shouldn't be this difficult.

Take some much needed advice. Get to the store and return it now. if you have these issues now do you really think it will not happen in the future?
They will of course get you for a restocking fee which is another load of you know what. You have to pay to return it or better yet you are going to get a refurbished phone after paying for a brand new one. Don't  do it. return the LG now.

  • LG Spectrum 2 problem-Need Help!

I have had my phone for 4 months now. For the last two months, I get a black screen with the wheel spinning on it at least 2 times a day. The phone wont dial, wont send a text. It is frustrating. I sometimes have to wait for several minutes to make a phone call due to the black screen with the circle spinning on my screen. Can someone help?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. This started happening to me too.  It takes several seconds before I can make a call.  If I hit the back arrow and re-dial then two calls are placed at the same time and one goes to the person's voicemail because they are already talking to me!!!! Now, today my phone was dead when I tried to turn it on.  Could not make any calls even after plugging it in to the car charger.  Took battery out and trying to charge phone.  Not cool if it were an emergency. The only thing different I did was install the Facebook app.  Not sure if that is a coincidence or not.  I asked a Verizon tech at a Kiosk yesterday and she thought my phone needed an update or was searching for a nearby tower.  She said Verizon just recently updated their towers.  I already did the software update last October.  Good luck!

  • MSI TI 4200 - TD8X - PC freezes while playing games.. Dx problem? Settings? HELP!

    Hi
I bought a MSI GF4 TI-4200 TD 8x about 2 months ago, and it has been running fine 'till now...I'm having a few problems in a few games (HALO, homeworld 2), ocasionally my computer freezes completely in the middle of these games, and I have to reboot...I've tried lots of things to solve this problem, but I wasn't able to just yet...As I know these 2 games use directx 9, I was wondering if my graphics card supports or is compatible with dx9...In the manual and on the site it says dx 8.1 compatible...doesn't mention dx 9... So I'd like to know if it is compatible, and if this may be the cause for all these gaming problems...If not, I'd like to know what can I do to detect where the problem is...
When the game crashes, a long beeping sound occurs...I think this may be relevant too...
I've updated the SB drivers, mobo drivers, nvidia drivers (tried 45.23 and 44.03), tried changing AGP aperture size on BIOS (64 or 128),

Post this question in the nForce forum too and tell them I told you to.
The reason is someone may have had this problem from that forum but deos not visit this one. I also suggest you post this question over at http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/ to see if they have experienced it.
I know I have experienced this problem but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was that fixed it.
Your sound and TV card are sharing IRQ's, you really should try to swap PCI slots so the Audigy is on it's own and the same goes with the TV card. I know slot 3 is a good spot for the TV card, you may have to swap till you get the best IRQ allocation.

  • K8N Neo2 Platinum 54G BIOS problem

    I recently bought a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum-54G mainboard with W7025NMS v1.3  092204 revision of BIOS.
AMD Athlon64 3000+ 939 is installed on the mainboard, with 2x512 GEIL PC3200 memory modules in dual channel configuration working on default frequency of 200MHz. CPU is recognized correctly as AMD Athlon64 3000+ on startup.
Mainboard’s BIOS seems to be corrupted. In Cell Menu options, in the upper left part of the screen (printed blue) are processor and DDR working timings:
Current CPU Clock 1810MHZ, Current DDR Clock 200MHz.
Aggressive Timings and Dynamic Overclocking values are [Disabled] (processor working on its defaulf settings); Spread Spectrum is [Disabled] while all DRAM Configuration settings are set to [Auto].
While entering HT frequency settings, (locked to [x5])  there are no other values to select – empty, and there is no way to leave it (ESC doesn’t help, the only thing possible to do is to reset the computer by pressing the Reset button on the chassis), but  the HT frequency settings were enabled when I loaded Fail-Safe settings, offering [1x], [1.5x], [2x], [2.5x], [3x], [4x], [5x].
Adjust CPU Ratio settings offer only [StartUp], [x4]~[x9] values, but as I understood by reading the manual there should be [StartUp], [x4]~[x20].
CPU Voltage, Memory Voltage and AGP Voltage are set to default.
CPU-Z, as well as SiSoft Sandra 2004 and SiSoft Sandra 2005 and MSI CORE CELL show that processor works at a core speed ~1005MHz, showing multiplier locked on x5.0 and HTT locked at ~200MHz, while the voltage is ~1.05V!
I downloaded the latest BIOS revision (v1.4), did the BIOS flash, but the problem remains!
    Anybody, help!

AMD64 CPOU's have a lock on CPU ratios which varies according to the specification of the chip. therefore the multiplier available in your bios stops at the max multiplier allowed by amd for your cpu.
As an example i'm running a 3200 754 which has a maximum muliplier of 11 so that is the max i see in bios.

  • Ext3+dir_index vs JFS, XFS, ReiserFS. Choice problem

    I'm a linux noob.
Going to install Archlinux to new laptop Inspiron 1520
Right now playing with Archlinux on vmware.
I want my laptop be fast, and of course choosing right FS is important in this regard.
Let me sum up all i read so far about different FS.
    ext3 vs XFS, JFS, ReiserFS:
    - ext3 is most stable, most supported. But also slowest.
    - XFS, JFS, Reiser are much faster, but have stability and or support problems.
    - ext3 with dir_index is fast, almost as fast as others.
    - noatime, nodiratime considerably improve performance of all these FS
    So here are my questions.
    1. Will ext3 + dir_index + noatime,nodiratime be up to the par with XFS,JFS ?
    2. Does disr_index enabled by default on latest Arch or do I have to enable it manually ?
    3. What other advantages besides speed JFS,XFS have comparing to ext3 ?

lucke wrote:Fragmentation can be an issue. <snip>....<snip>s impact on performance.
Yes indeed fragmentation can cause a significant penalty in performance, especially if you are copying large, very fragmented files. But for a desktop system people usually deal with smaller files than ones downloaded in large torrents; at least that was my impression for my previous post. The thing about XFS being designed as it is, is that it doesn't handle fragmentation of large files well. Basically, the extensive use it makes of B+ trees make it particularly cpu intensive for working with reads that are non-continuous and hence is particularly hurt when copying highly fragmented, large files. This isn't quite as pronounced in JFS (but the performance hit is there) because it's cpu usage isn't as high as XFS; and it's algorithms are more optimized for working with smaller continuous reads than XFS (to my understanding). This is probably the main reason why XFS has a defragmentor and JFS does not.
One thing that fragmentation of a JFS filesystem will have a major effect on is performance of a VMware virtual machine whose image is highly fragmented on JFS. I mentioned this in the wiki article. If you use VMware with a growing image, I recommend somewhat regular defragmenting of the JFS partition, otherwise the VM will be significantly impeded. I imagine this situation is true for other file systems other than JFS. Also, if you torrent frequently with large files, then I would suggest regular JFS defragmenting in this scenario as well.
Gullible Jones wrote:Re JFS data loss: bug reports have been filed. See here and here.
The first report is most likely due to the fact that JFS journals metadata only. This is also the case with XFS, Reiser, and ext3 (with the popular journal=writeback implementation). Caching data losses like the first bug report seems to describe what has been known to happen with other file systems on linux and not JFS. Nonetheless, JFS has never hidden the fact that it journals metadata only as journaling both metadata and actual file data incurs a big performance hit.
The second bug report could easily be a hardware failure. Indeed with both the log and no inodes being dumped to the lost+found directory, I would not jump to judgment that this was necessarily a JFS issue as that would imply JFS failing in SEVERAL different places. It is more likely that the issue was one with hardware.
As I said before, neither one of these show that JFS conclusively looses files in its own right. If you really require journaling of both metadata and file data, then ext3 is the only option for linux (with no journaling /etc/fstab optimizations); JFS and other journaling file systems don't do this as it significantly reduces performance.
Anyway, I am done going on about this; if people are hellbent on believing JFS looses files, so be it. Personally, I have never had a data loss issue with JFS despite years of use and abuse in the spectrum of possible hardware and software configurations.

  • E72 updated to 051.018 - some problems - quick que...

    Hi.
I recently updated my E72 and been having a few problems (erratic Bluetooth behaviour, slow and sluggish window changes, contacts from address book stopped appearing on screen when I get phone calls and messages (instead I get the full number, which is annoying), etc. etc. etc.)
I've been reading about people making "hard resets" to their phones.
How can I do that on my E72?
Will I loose any information that's already there? (contacts? messages? themes?)
    Thanks.

Again, I get your frustrations. I walk with the same shoes.
Thing is... there really is no perfect phone in the market. Android's and iPhone's have **bleep** battery times or you can't see anything with direct sunlight, or the cameras are not that good.
It seems like all these mobile-computing-phone-gadget-manufacturers are still in their infancy, trying to grab a market that they don't know where it's going, cramming a lot of stuff into a tiny space and not able to make anything really well.
I don't think this is a Nokia-only problem. We're probably still in the "Spectrum 48k" of the mobile web.
And maybe some of the times I blame my phone for not doing something right, it's probably some network or carrier issue that I'm totally oblivious to.
Fact is I can't be enfuriated about problems I don't know the origin of.
What really bothers me is that I update my phone to newer OS versions and it ends up worse than it was!
Come on! How complex can it be to fix this address book contact issue? Do I have to wait a few more months until I'm able to see who's calling me?
This is the stuff that gets me mad: when the simple and necessary everyday things are not attended.
But interesting stuff is happening everyday now... Four months for mobile manufacturers is like two years in real time.
I'll wait for January to find out how the Android vs iPhone vs Symbian battle is going and then I'll make my decision.
    Cheers everyone!

  • 865PE Neo2-FIS2R and Geil memory problem

With 512MB (2x256) of Corsair XMS 3700, the system is perfectly stable (runs 24/7 crunching for UD, also have done Prime95 torture test).
With 1-GB (2x512) of Geil PC4000 Ultra Platinum, the system is very unstable.  It usually won't even boot fully into Windows without a BSOD (which vary) or if it does get into Windows it crashed soon thereafter.
If I put the Corsair memory back in (like I have them right now, to be able to use the system to post this message), the system is back to 100% stable, so it seems to be entirely a memory-related problem.

    AGP volts 1.50
    SPD Disabled

Have run MemTest standard test on the Geil modules individually and as a pair, and have tried different slots.  Testing thus far shows no errors when each module is installed separately, but when used in a pair there are sometimes errors shown.
Have tried the modules in slots 1,3 and slots 2,4 with no difference.
Have tried setting DDR voltage from 2.70 up to 2.85v for the Geil (approved up to 2.9v) with no apparent change in stability.
Have tried changing Spread Spectrum setting between enabled and disabled.  Disabled seems to be better, but problem remains.
Have tried using SPD disabled with settings listed above, and SPD enabled (which sets timings at 2.5-4-4-8,8).
Edit: I'd asked for advice, but then realized that the very limited timeframe in which I could return the Geil would expire if I waited beyond business hours today.  So I've RMA'd the Geil and have ordered a 1-GB Corsair TwinX XMS 3700 pack instead.

I've had similar problems to you but with Corsair TwinX LL's and if you read back a month in this forum you will see others have also with various memories on the 865 FISR.
The fix I found was Kingston memory but others have had problems with Kingston.    There was a thread running a week or two ago attempting to document successful memory mobo combinations.
Bottom line, stick with what works on your mobo until MSI fix the incompatability/instability issues.

  • (865PE Neo2) - Memory Controller Problems ???

Hi, I've been having problems with my RAM. I've run MEMTEST and found that my RAM continually failed test #5 (64 Block move). However, I pulled the RAM and tested in a friend's computer..... and it passed without any problems..... I went back to my computer and continually changed the BIOS setting until I finally got something to work....
What I did, was change the DRAM Freq from 400 down to 333. And it seems to be stable..... (The RAM was meant to run at 400)
The people at Corsair offered to replace the RAM, however, because both sticks produce them same problem, and because it works at 333 but not 400, and because it fails test #5 and not any other test, then they think the problem lies somewhere other then the RAM. And at the stage, i tend to agree.....
Now someone suggested it might be the Memory Controller..... I have no idea what that means..... but it sounds plausable.... Eitherway, I believe it might have something to do with the Motherboard..... And I was hoping someone here might have an idea on how I can either test it, or fix it.....
    Thanks a bunch.....

    Hi,
I've tried the RAM sticks individually, as well as 1,3 and 2,4..... And it doesn't make a difference.
    I've aslo Disabled Spread Spectrum
And I've also tried all these setting, plus more.... @400Mhz

    3-3-3-7
    3-3-3-8
all without success..... And what i mean, is that I still get error#5 in memtest. And ALWAYS the error occures in the 92%-96% portion of the test.....
HOWEVER, When I drop the DRAM Freq to 333.... No problem..... All is fine..... Even at 2-3-3-6
Unfortunately, I doubt I will be able to test any other DDR400 memory in my system, but it would be interesting to know the results.....
I also find marginal confort knowing this problem is a bit 'common', however, i would find MORE comfort solving the problem :-)
    Thanks :-)

  • 865PE Neo2-V problems

I'm hoping this is the right area to ask for help...  Ever since I got this MB it's been nothing but trouble. I bought it, took it home, hooked it up, no power.  So I went back to the computer shop I got it from and asked them what's wrong with it.  After taking my system in for them to make sure it was setup right, they informed me that I had to send it back for RMA work.  so now, about 2-3 months later I finally got a new board back, and have random reboots.  I've tried everything I could think of to figure out why it's randomly rebooting and am stumped.  One surefire way to make it reboot is opening the front of my case, that does it everytime, so I tried a different MB to see if the same problem happen.  It doesn't...  Was there a re-call or something on these MB's?  I hate to do another RMA and be without a computer for a few more months, since I work out of my home, and my computer is a main part of my work...  I can't afford to send this MB in again.  I've got the latest BIOS update, my RAM is set to 2.5,3,3,8 (per manufacturer).  I have a 2 gig P4, that works fine in my other board.  Even bought a new SATA HD for a fresh install of windows XP and still, the random rebotos happen.  I'm not trying to OC or anything along those lines, since the chip I have shows almost no increases from OC's, so it's not from OC'ing it..  I'm running a 480 watt power supply, and that should be more then enough juice for the board...  Sorry to rant and rave, but been working on this for about 3 weeks and about to pull out all my hair, since everytime I think it's going to be ok and I start to actually accomplish some work, it reboots, before I have a chance to save anything...
I guess I'm asking if anyone else has had these problems with this MB, or do I just have that kind of luck?  I've been looking over the boards here for the last week or so and tried pretty much everything I've found, under a search for random reboots, to no avail.  Here's a list of what I can think of off the top of my head that I've tried...  <deep calming breath>  Changed the BIOS through every version since the initial BIOS the driver disk has on it, re-seated the RAM in different places in the DIMM's, Memtest388 or whatever it is with 0 errors on a 10 hour test (the longest it's run without a reboot since day 1), pulled the graphics card and re-seated it, put more fans in, taken them out, took the power supply in to have it tested (it's fine), replaced the RAM with new shiny RAM that's tested fine, tried a different case, reset the CMOS, tried a different chip, tried numerous power supplies, checked the voltage at the surge protector, replaced all old components (CD drives, floppy drives ect...) traced each individual wire checking for breaks insulation problems, software tests out the wazoo all saying it's fine, new heat sinks, new thermal gel, put the computer on top of a cold vent (thinking of might be to hot) and so on...  I guess I should list my setup since every component in the case has tested out fine at the shop and I can't afford to replace anything else...
    865PE Neo2-V MB with a Intel 2.0 gig P4
    512 x2 corsair VS512MB400 RAM sticks
    Asus N6600 graphics card (Nvidia)
    480 watt power supply
    Sound Blaster live! 5.1 gamer
    BIOS version 6.2
At first I thought it might be overheating, but the processor and RAM stay around 37º and 39º give or take 2º.  I've also checked for virus's/spyware/adware to many times to remember with none found.  Any help would be greatly apprieciated before I get so fed up that move to a cave and rely on an abacus for record keeping...

I have almsot the same set-up as you have.
I didnt have these problems though.
One thing that comes to mind is a grounding error.
Have you checked the space between the motherboard and the side of the case its mounted to?
I read that you tried a diffrent case, but it could be some issue with one of the grounding points where you put the screws in perhaps.
I know that the Spread Spectrum setting in BIOS can cause some disturbances, but it shouldnt really be enough to make it reboot though.
But check that one anyway, ON and OFF.
A bit info on Spread Spctrum:
    "Spread Spectrum
When the motherboard’s clock generator pulses, the extreme values (spikes) of the
pulses creates EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). The Spread Spectrum function
reduces the EMI generated by modulating the pulses so that the spikes of the pulses
are reduced to flatter curves. If you do not have any EMI problem, leave the setting at
[Disabled] for optimal system stability and performance. But if you are plagued by EMI,
activate the Spread Spectrum for EMI reduction. Remember to disable Spread
Spectrum if you are overclocking because even a slight jitter can introduce a temporary
boost in clock speed which may just cause your overclocked processor to lock
    up. Options: [Disabled], [Enabled]."
I assume you tried to run the Load BIOS Setup Defaults.
Also make sure that all the jumpers on the motherboard are set right, there might be some of the set wrong by accident, check with your manual to be sure.
You can try this to, take out your motherboard and place it at a non-conductive material.like wood or glass and attach all the components u need to do a boot-up, and only those, and see whats happening.
If it runs ok like this, then it might be some sort of short-circuit somwhere.
I think i read about an ASUS board that had some components near the CPU that somehow got in touch with, either the heatblock, orsome connection point of the fan-mounting and it caused some serious problem for people.
I took quite some troubleshooting to find that out for them.
All i can think off right now, at the top of my head, but try this, if you havent done it already.

  • MSI X48C Platinum Windows boot problem

    Hi,
I tested the MSI X48c Platinum motherboard with windows xp Pro 64 bit, Windows 7 RC1 and Windows 7 Retail, all of them share the same problem so it has to be caused by hardware.
When I boot up at the logo of windows it freezes, when I reboot and chose to start the operating system normally it runs through. This freezing up seems to be random, sometimes when I power my machine it runs through it with no problem.

    For testing only:
    - use only one memory stick and one DDR2 Switch Card
    - reduce the memory frequency to DDR2-667 in BIOS Setup and set the Memory Voltage to 1.9V
    - disable Spread Spectrum
See if that changes anything.  If it does, we have reasons to look for a memory problem
I run 64 bit operating system running it with only 2gb is not a problem? (i'm testing boot so gues not?).
memory frequency , voltage and Spread Spectrum should be all set or test them individually?

I have disabled Spread Spectrum and rebooted 12 times and all went good, have to test still with complete power down and boot to see if that works

  • Problem with my MSI KT4 Ultra

    Hi all!
I have a BIG problem, I have tried to look at this board, but there is many different answers out there  ;(
I have KT4 Ultra with Athlon XP 2600+
I have set FSB to 166, and when I startup BIOS says Athlon XP 2600+.
But in windows system, it only says:
    AMD Athlon XP2600+
    2.09Ghz !!!!
    768Mb RAM
Why is windows only says 2.09Ghz??
AND, I think my system is very slow. I used to have AMD 1200Mhz. And this sytem is almost like my last computer.
    My System:
    MSI KT4 Ultra ( MS-6590 ) with BIOS
