LG Vortex: Audio and Voice input problem

So my phone has been working great and this morning I tried to make a call and I could hear the person on the other line but my voice would not go through to them. Now I cant even hear the other line. Any advice on the problem?

Thanks for posting. I understand how this can be frustrating.  This is a one way audio issue.   In order to resolve your issue please PM me your mobile telephone number so I can research your account and get you an answer? Thanks.

  • Minor bug: Smart Audio and voice/video call

Hi. There is a slight bug regarding the Smart Audio driver. Here's how to get the problem:
    1. As we all know, the speakers for X220 isn't exactly loud. So I overcame this problem by going in Smart Audio and selected the custom preset for EQ, setting all the sliders to maximum.
    2. Go have any kind of voice/video call, be it Skype or MSN. As Smart Audio senses a voice call, it sets the audio into VOIP mode.
    3. Here's the problem. After you finished the voice call, the EQ settings doesn't go back into my previous setting (the custom preset), rather, it goes back to "Off", the default setting.
    Thank you.

    hey jamestan,
have you tried uninstalling the Smart Audio driver and then install the latest version which is available on our website?
    If not, kindly do so.

  • Nokia Lumia 920 voice input problem with speaker o...

My voice input doesn't seem to pick up any sound while having the speakers on. The voice recognition doesn't work, it just says that i didn't hear anything. I'm having the same problem with soundhound, skype and turning speaker on while calling. Someone else having the same issue?

I have the latest Nokia update, and the latest Nokia system apps from the store, i've used the reset sometimes when my phone freezes but the problem's still there. Its really annoying.
I sent my phone on service about a month ago because of another issue, they said thet they changed the motherboard, and that's when this problem started to occur.
I've seen other people on the net with the same problem, but it looks like it's a rare problem.

when I connect my microphone with the front connection on my PC -> no problem, mic is working.
When I connect them both, the microphone isn't working.
To fix it, I have to disconnect my headset
Is this a known issue ?
Or is there someone who can help me ?

  • Audio and video sync problem

    Hi,
I have a problem with audio and video synchronization. I'm using Merge class to merge video and audio tracks. But audio track can be shorter then whole video track (for example video length: 2 min., audio length 1 min.). When I merge them everything is OK. After that I'd like to concatenate more tracks (generated from merge) into one final video file. For this purpose I'm using Concat class.
But here is the problem, after I concatenate all these tracks then the result video is OK but audio is synchronized right after the previous audio track ended. (If I have video1- 2min. audio1 - 1min., video2 - 2min., audio2 - 30 seconds, then second audio2 starts in 1,30 min right after the first audio track. But I want to start it when the second video2 starts.) Do you have any ideas??

    Thanks for help in advance.

    Ok thanks.
I tried to implement PullBufferDataSource and everything went ok, the audio .wav file was generated, but when I run that file, the length is 0 and not the lenght I wanted (40.00). Where can be a problem?

  • Audio and video sync problem using itunes player

When I play a movie using itunes it starts out okay but after a few minutes the audio and the video are no longer in sync. Anyone have a solution for this problem
    Dennis

    I have the same problem.
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H
    Chipset:
    North Bridge: AMD 785G
    South Bridge: AMD SB710
Video: Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200
HDMI Audio through the HDMI out port to one of the TV HDMI in port.
Tried on Windows 7 Pro 32bit and Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit.
Tried with the integrated ALC889A audio device enabled and disabled (It seems that the video card drives the HDMI audio device, because it still appears in Windows even if I disable the Audio device in BIOS).
    Latest iTunes and drivers installed.
Apple, any suggestions? I'm not having a great customer experience after buying a pair of HD movies in iTunes.

  • K9A2 Platinum Audio and Video Driver problems.

I put together my new rig last night and am having a lot of problems with drivers.  The rig installed windows XP SP2 in about 10 minutes though
    Rig:
    MSI K9A2 Platinum Bios 1.3
    Phenom 9850 BE
    G.SKILL 1066 5-5-5-15 2T
    MSI HD 3870 OC
    WD Raptor
    CoolerMaster 550watt
Several fans to keep cool air flowing.
My problem is that I can not find good audio or video drivers.  I started by trying the audio drivers included with the board, but they would not complete the install.  I ended up downloading audio drivers from the MSI site, however they also would not install with the "#-0001" error message.  I followed the instructions on the forum: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=115396.msg866810#msg866810 including installing the MS HD Audio Driver Hotfix but still cannot get sound working.
To further complicate my problem the 3870 has HD onboard, which makes a second instance of Microsoft UAA HD Audio driver in the device manager, and also tries to find drivers for bits of it's audio hardware.
Currently I have disabled on-board audio completely through the bios, and now everytime I boot-up I get new hardware found for UAA HD Audio, and also some Media interface.  Clearly this is the HD on the 3870, however I can't seem to get drivers installed that will agree with the hardware thus the message continue to pop-up!
Does anyone have suggestions or similar experiences?

    Thanks for the links.
The standard AMD ATI Drivers + South Bridge chipset drivers worked flawlessly.  I've made a clean run through 3dmark06 so i feel good about them.
    As for the audio.
I've worked through both of those suggestions but haven't gotten anywhere.  A few times I have been able to get the drivers to install without the "error code -0001" message, but that doesn't give me sound.  Under device manager I still end up with yellow exclamations.  It seems no matter what I disable or try to do nothing works.  I've tried updating drivers manually like was explained in the first link, but when the update is complete I get the messages lile: "There was a problem installing this device  MEDIA  An error occured...  The data is invalid"
Does anyone know if this indicates a hardware of driver problem?

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 QuickTime Audio and Video Syncing problem

    Hi everyone,
I am having and issue when I import QuickTime video into Premiere Pro CC 2014. I've just started doing some editing so I am very new to all of this. I recorded video in Photo Booth on my mac. I exported the file to a .mov file and imported it in to Premiere. When I play the file in premiere everything is fine up until halfway through the video. The video starts to play faster than the audio and everything is off. When I play the video in QuickTime everything is fine. I don't know if I did something wrong when I imported the file but I am hoping for some help. Thank you.

I would be willing to bet the video is recorded as VFR, variable frame rate ... in other words, it creates more frames per second when it needs to for keeping up with screen changes, and less when it doesn't see much changing on your screen. This saves bandwidth of course, BUT ... PrPro is not setup to work well with VFR footage, it really needs CFR, constant FR. So ... highly recommended if your capture program doesn't allow setting CFR is the free program "Handbrake", which you can google for. Use that to convert the footage to CFR, then import that into PrPro.

  • 945 PL Audio and Network intermittent problems...

    Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me here. I recently built a comp for a friend with a 945PL Mobo and a dual-core 2.66 Ghz processor. Everything is fine, except that the audio sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. This includes when I disable the onboard audio and switch to a 3rd party card. Also, I have hooked the comp up to my network in order to update windows, and everything worked fine, except for the fact that with each restart, I had to unplug the network cable and plug it back in.
I have reinstalled both the audio drivers and the drivers for the network card, as well as disabling/uninstalling the components and then reinstalling them.
Currently, the audio is working again(had ONE instance where it wasn't working, and I went to log out, and it started working again...). Usually, it will work for a minute or two, and then stop, with NO errors.
Unfortunately, the network card just keeps trying to establish a connection, so I can't get the comp online to update anything.
I have also tried flashing the BIOS, except that I can't get it to work for some reason. I followed the instructions provided here, but the BIOS utility doesn't seem to want to run. Maybe I'm missing something.
If anyone has ANY idea what might be going on, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!
This is driving me nuts, and also making me look like a moron to the friend I built the computer for.
    Thanks!!
    Mike Wells

"What's your full system build? Please list out."
Sorry for the slow reply, I've been seriously busy...
    System:
    945 PL Mobo
2.66 Ghz Dual Core P4 Processor
    1 Gb Crucial DRAM
Radeon X550 PCI Express Video Card with 256 Mb RAM
    Maxtor 250 Gb SATA HDD
    Sony DVD-ROM
    Pioneer DVD Burner
    Cooler Master Case
    Thermaltake Typhoon cooler
Audio and Ethernet are both built in.
I have updated the audio, the ethernet and the INTEL drivers, still no luck. The network card continues to try and get on the network(Funny thing, I can access my router, but even if I hook straight up to the cable modem, it never accquires an address.). The audio worked MOST of the weekend, but it still stopped working on two occasions. I left in on for hours at a time, I restarted a million times, I even played full CD's to see if there was any pattern to the audio issue, nothing seemed to show up, except that it doesn't go out while playing something...
    Hope this helps.
Does anyone think that this could be a Windows issue, even though putting in another souond card didn't help? I haven't installed so much software at this point that a re-install would be too much of a pain in the butt...
    Once again, thanks for helping.

  • Separate audio and  video inputs for Quicktime Broadcast?

I want to produce some real time streaming via Quicktime Broadcast. My audio will be coming from a Mackie mixer with firewire interface, the video will be coming from my video switcher which has a firewire output. Will I be able to combine the audio and video firewire feeds in the computer (or software), or must I combine the audio and video into one firewire feed before it hits the computer?
    Thanks!
    Rob Cook

I just did my first feed Monday night. I used a video mixer and Mackie board myself. I feed the audio and video(component) into my DSR-20 VCR, which I also use for a tape backup recording. This then feeds the QT Broadcaster. I don't think you can feed anything but a firewire machine or iPhoto camera into Broadcaster. Might work with an USB camera/vcr???
I feed H.264 video, at 320x240 with mono 16 bit audio. Hint... don't do disolves, as they increase the frame rate. simple cuts-only seems to be the best. We also fed keynote slideshow into switcher... carefull there, as it produces saturated colors that will effect the signal... the switcher will think the super saturated video is sync and glitch the video. red is the worst, of course. Next week I am going to use a little proc amp to drop the chroma a bit.

  • TS2634 Home button and voice command problems

The home button stopped working today on our iPhone 4 and voice command keeps coming on.  I have done a hard restore to no avail.  Any ideas what I should try next?

No clue what a "hard restore" is, no such function exists.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  If none of this resolves the issue then it is almost certainly a hardware issue and a trip to Apple is in store.

  • [Solved] System audio and microphone input, as one mixed stream?

I'm using ffmpeg to record screencasts with this command:
    ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 2 -i default -f x11grab -r 15 -s 1280x720 -i :0.0+0,17 -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264 -preset ultrafast -threads 0 -y video.mkv
It works really well for cases where I only need to record my voice ("Mic" capture works). However, there are situations where I would like to record both what I am saying, and what I am hearing. So, my question:
Is there a way to create a virtual ALSA capture device, which will provide the desired "mic + output" stream?
Last edited by Goran (2012-09-17 02:33:32)

Since I don't have a Realtek ALC663 codec chip, the best I can do is provide guidance.
While all the info you need is provided by the hda-analyzer program, it is confusing. What helped me (a bunch) to better visualize the "virtual wires" of my codec was to download it's datasheet.
I found one for the Realtek ALC663 here:
    http://www.datasheetarchive.com/
Just search on "alc663" in the search bar at the upper right, then I had to click on the PDF symbol in the search results, which then displayed just the first page of the datasheet. But by clicking on that first page, the whole document could be downloaded... at least that's how it worked for me. Otherwise, try something like using the "Advanced Search" function of Google to search for PDF files with some relevant search words.
Then go to the Block Diagram page of that document. This is what really helped me understand/visualize the wiring. But to be redundant, this diagram should match the wiring shown in hda-analyzer... it's just more "human friendly".
Notice the hexadecimal numbers that are inside the ovals (0Dh, 1Bh, etc). For all my different codec chips, these numbers have matched the Node IDs shown in hda-analyzer (and all other ALSA data on my systems), but that might not be true for all codecs, so be careful.
Also notice that not all the "virtual wires" are shown. Just like in some electronic schematics, the document writers "cheated" by labeling a "virtual wire" and then using that label elsewhere in the document. For example, the "virtual wire" coming from Node 0Fh is labeled "Mono DAC". That "virtual wire" connects to the input of Node 17h on the wire labeled "MONO".
So let's follow some signals... like the "front" two stereo channels...
    (1) The PCM digital audio signal will come in at Node 02h. This node seems to allow selection ("SRC"), convert from digital to analog ("DAC"), and volume control ("VOL") from -64 dB to 0 dB in 1 dB steps. This codec chip seems to support 44.1k, 48k, 96k, and 192k samples per second.
    (2) It then heads to Nodes 0Fh and 0Ch, but let's just follow the 0Ch mixer node. Where it then leaves with a label called "Front DAC" and connects to many other nodes (14h, 15h, 19h, and more).
    (3) But let's just look at Node 14h. The output (called "FRONT(Port-D)") would probably be connected to speakers if this was a laptop, or to jack(s) if this was a desktop. The input to this node has a mixer that mixes the "Front" and "Surr" channels, then it goes into an Input/Output amplifier ("I/Oa") before leaving the chip.
Hmmmm... think about that for a minute. An external connection that is obviously an output (speakers) has an input??? The answer is "yes" for this codec chip. I quote from the datasheet:
"Multiple analog IO (except MONO, PCBEEP, and HP-OUT) are input and output capable, and provide headphone amplifiers."
That was the feature that I used to create a hardware loopback in my ALC662 chip... and it appears that you can too on your ALC663. You probably need to just connect and/or unmute some nodes to do so using hda-analyzer. I've found that other codec chips from other manufacturers also have this ability.
So... assuming that you wanted to loop the "front" signal path that we just followed back as input (capture)... let's follow that path...
    ALSA play to hw:?,? -> 02h -> 0Ch -> 14h -> ((22h -> 09h) or (23h -> 08h)) -> ALSA capture from hw:?,?
So fire up hda-analyzer and verify that the path that you want is connected and unmuted and make the required changes if they aren't. Simple, right?... chuckle.
In my case I used hda-analyzer to connect the front two stereo channels going to my "Line Out" into the capture input and found that I also needed to unmute some of the mixers/switches in that new path that were not available in alsamixer. Then I fired up alsamixer and played with it's controls until I got a good bouncy audio signal using:
    arecord -vv -f cd -V stereo -D plughw:0,0 /dev/null
while simultaneously playing some tunes, to verify that it was working. Then told hda-analyzer to create a Python script of the changes. Then I used hda-analyzer to put the codec back to it's original condition and created another Python script.
Now I had scripts to turn on the hardware loopback and to turn it back off again. Like I said in that previous thread, the changes will disappear on a reboot unless you jump through even more hoops.
Obviously, you need to use the correct "plughw:X,Y" for your system (i.e. The correct sound card,device)... Hint: look at the output from "arecord -l". Like your codec, mine also had two capture devices to complicate matters, so I had to keep trying different alsamixer settings and/or "plughw:X,Y" parameters until things smoothed out.
Now just fire up projectM-libvisual-alsa and enjoy the trip... or try your screencast quest.
This is, by far, one of the hardest methods for loopback... but perhaps the most personally satisfying/frustrating, and with the fewest problems once it's working.
    Good luck.

  • Audio and video synch problems

Whether I am recording a video or in a live chat, the audio is off from the video. Customer Support said to just try some of the different compression options. I tried that, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Lot of users have a Blue Yeti, even the evangelists do use them. Where is the problem, because to me it is not clear if it is linked with the micro or with your work flow.
When I'm creating a video demo I will do a temporary narration during the capture process, so that the timing is about correct for the video. It helps if you have some sort of script ready at that time. Then I will do the proper voice over (mostly using Audition) and replace the temporary narration by the final one. Perhaps some more sync is needed, but often I have to edit the video demo because I want to insert static objects, split video, etc. Here is an example of such a video:

  • Buddy won't stick - Audio and Video chat problems

Grateful for advice on a group of problems - possibly related...
    My setup -
    iMac, OS X 10.5.6, iChat 4.0.7
    AIM account
Testing iChat between my iMac and daughter's MacBook.
    Problem 1)
I log in on AIM account - can see status of my daughter who I have added as a buddy.
Daughter cannot add me as a buddy - tried when off and on line. She tries to add my buddy name and it flashes then disappears.
    Problem 2)
Both logged in, I can invite her to join a text chat with daughter and she can respond.
If I invite her to join an audio or a video chat, my screen says it is waiting for a response from <her screenname>, she receives a message saying "<my screenname> cancelled the invitation".
    Other information
I have created a second account in iChat using my wife's screenname and password. Neither of these problems occur. I have compared settings in the Preferences -> Accounts window between the two accounts and they are the same.
All works OK over bonjour, but I need to get this sorted before daughter moves away in a weeks time.
    Grateful for your help,
    Mike

    Hi,
Methods b) and c) should prevent any mispelling of the (Screen) name.
She will now have to check her Block and Allow lists
These are in iChat menu > Preferences > Accounts > Security tab.
    There are several options.
The Allow Certain People options is only active when chosen but will block anyone not in the list (Makes them appear off line but she will need to see if the Off Line Buddies (Show Menu) to see those).
If the Block Certain People is selected then those names are permanently blocked even if they are not in the Buddy List But she would not be able to chat with you and you would not see her as being Online.
If you are set to Invisible then she will get the same symptoms but you will appear in the Off Line List.
It may pay for her to delete her com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist
It is in the Home Folder/Library/Preferences
Drag it to the Trash and restart iChat.
    ON the Modem front.
You have a Router/Modem combined device that is also Wireless.
    There is no other router.
By default most Netgears do UPnP. This means Port Forwarding or Port Triggering that is offered by some is not active (And does not need to be)
On the WAN Page of the set up pages they tend to need to be "Allowed to Respond to Pings on the WAN Port" (this is the Wide Area or Internet side port/socket/jack to the outside world)
On the same Page I would also suggest Stopping the DOS or SPI Filter that is mentioned.
Effectively the Macs should show in System Preferences > Network the IP something like 192.168.0.2 for you and 192.168.0.3 for her and the "Router IP" as being 192.168.0.1 from both. (I say "Router IP" like that as it is in fact the Modem's IP on your LAN)

  • Bizzare and awful input problems

Hello all. I bought a  Mac Mini a few months ago. A month or two later, the computer started having problems. It doesn't allow any sort of input other than mouse cursor position for around ten minutes after startup. I tried to fix this problem by reinstalling the OS, but that didn't work either. It still has the same problems.
One way I can access the computer immediately after it starts up is by VNCing into it. That seems to work for input. In addition of that problem, there is also a problem with the hover action on the cursor. For example, when playing a First Person Shooter, in order to move your character's head around, you have to hold down the left mouse as well as moving the mouse. That's really the only way I can describe it.
This makes the computer pretty useless. I play a lot of games, and it also interfers with other programs.
I'm starting to think that this is a problem with the computer because, as mentioned earlier, I have completely erased the hard drive and freshly installed the OS. It still has these issues right out of the box.
So, Apple Support Community, how do I fix this? What's wrong? I'm pretty tech-savvy so feel free to explain indepth.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
