this has probably been talked about already but the search feature doesnt come up with anything useful for my phone.  i have the lg vortex and none of the solutions seem to work for my specific phone.  every time i plug the thing in it brings up this verison website, and it is really getting annoying.  can anyone help me turn this feature off?

  • How to I get rid of Untrusted site pop ups

    My question is two fold
    1. Why do I get an Untrusted site pop on on sites that I know
are secure like I Tunes, and other sites that I've been using
for very long time. I never ever had this problem with the older
versions of Fire Fox . These pop up windows started after I
downloaded the new FireFox 3.6 . I can use my laptop and go to the
same site 's on the other office PC we have and my laptop with out
any problems and no pop ups.
    2. Is this a problem is coming from Fire Fox so I can stop the pop ups
from happening or is it from my security settings in my firewall
My Anti-virus program is Panda Internet Security 2011
Can you give me answer to these 2 questions
    Thanks for your help

  • Verizon Site Text Problem.... Help!

I'm a computer savvy person, but Verizon is driving me crazy!  This is one I can't figure out and I can't get a live person for one instance of help!!  This is my problem:  I have had a verizon site for years, using site builder.  I had pages and pages, so I knew how to use it!  I deleted everything last year.  This month I began a new site with site builder and have created it, picked a design, added a picture, BUT - it will not add text!  The box is always grayed out.  This is so frustrating!  I can't find any reason why this problem exists, and of course, cannot get any help online.
Does anyone have any idea why I wouldn't be able to add text to my site builder site?  I'm losing my mind!  Help!  and thanks!  - Linda

Upon reflection, it does not seem to be anything about IE's Security Settings.
Their site does not work with Fire Fox. I even tried the safe mode for Fire Fox.
    Points to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode
This is an example of how to do it under IE.

  • Firefox 38.0 Unable to connect to verizon sites including email

Over the past 2 days I have been unable to access any verizon sites (especially my web email) using Firefox 38.0.5.  Firefox appears to be trying to connect but the status shows it bouncing between "Fios Trending" and the sign in page.  No problem with chrome or IE.  I've tried refreshing Firefox, but the problem persists.  Not sure if this is a verizon problem or a Mozilla problem. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Certain parts of Verizon Site in Redirect Loops?

For the past couple of months, when I've attempted to access certain parts of the the general Verizon site as a whole, the page will load for a moment, then tell me that it either won't load properly (Firefox) or that it is stuck in a redirect loop (Chrome). The part of the site that seems to be the most effected is the 'shopping' area. I cannot shop for Smart Phones, regular phones, tablets... nothing. As soon as I click on one of those selections the page gets stuck in a redirect loop.
I've attempted to clear my cache. Turn off my ad-blocker, etc. But none of them work. It should be noted that I CAN access the shopping area when I am not logged into my account. I can look at any phone I want, and even add it to my cart, but in order to finish the process I must log in. The moment I log in? Stuck in another redirect loop.
Is there any solution to this, or am I S.O.L. unless I really want to go directly to a Verizon store?

A quick question. Usually, when clearing out one's cache for the internet, it completely clears it out, and that's that.
But, no matter how many time I clear my Google Chrome cache, it doesn't remove this site's cached instances. Is it because I run more than one browser? (ie, I run Firefox sometimes, as well as Internet Explorer sometimes, depending on if a site works better on them...)
Should I try to clear my cache on all of my browsers? Or is there a way to access a file on the computer itself to delete my internet history/cache, that my browsers might not be deleting despite my telling them to do so??
Not to say this would solve my issue. But it's worth a try at the very least.

icon/web site popped up on the screen, i can not delete it or put it in the trash. how do i get rid of it without opening it?

Open your Browser Preferences and uncheck [√] Javascript (and Java as well if that is checked).
This will disallow any scripts, and give you back control. This works for the "FBI" ransomware as well.

  • Unstable Verizon Site

Well usually I'm helping to answer the seemingly endless question about the forum being hard to log into, stay connected to or in general just being unstable.   Well now I'm seriously noticing it not only here but on the general Verizon site in general!   I've noticed that when I click on menu items, ie "Plans" (for verizon plans) either nothing happens or I'm transported to some verizon advertisement or something.
Tonight I got prompted for my user ID and password on a totally new page that I had never seen before that had two different kinds of sign-in options.   The first through my Verizon account and the second through just the forum.   The problem is my username and password didn't work for either sign in . . . not good.
I'm hoping I don't get locked out and lose my name and stuff like others.  I'll just assume they are working on things.   I do hope that our usernames and passwords are fully backed up and retrievable in the event of system failure or crash.   I've built many web site, blogs and bulletin boards and I know just how many things can indeed go horribly wrong

Here is the link I use to log into the forums:
    http://forums.verizon.com/vrzn/
Only quirk seems to be that most or all of the time if I just hit the Enter key I get an error, but if I click on the Login button all is ok. Don't understand that, but.....
Try the above link, I hope it will work better for you.
Edit: If it works ok, then be sure to save it as a Favorite in your browser so it will be easy to get back to.

While using Firefox, a site popped up and said it was Firefox scanning for viruses. It then said I had dangerous viruses and should download a security program. Is this for real? The site was update32.escmce.ce.ms I googled this site and it does not exist. Now, I am worried about the security on my computer.

If you're running under Windows, I suggest you download and install Microsoft's Security Essentials. It protects against these types of attacks and tends to find stuff that other anti-virus scanners don't find. You're system could be infected because of that bogus, evil anti-virus scan. Install and run the software while in safe mode.

  • If javascript can no longer be disabled - how do I leave a website that asks the "are you sure you want to leave this site" pop up question without a yes choice

Given that the turn off javascript option will be disabled - how do I close a page that does not allow me to leave by giving a "are you sure you want to leave" pop up question but then redirects to itself where it again asks that question perpetually?
The only way to kill a page like that sofar was to disable javascript and then close the tab.
Now I will have to close the browser - and possibly loose all the tabs I have open.
I want a javascript quick switch - allowing me to easily disable javascript for any page at will.
(esp for some of my older, slower netbooks)
Or at least a "FORCE CLOSE" option for malicious webpages.

Hi ronc2, there isn't a specific setting for this. Firefox's built-in JavaScript settings allow you to control several aspects of scripts*, but unfortunately not this one.
I previously tried to find some other options for individually turning off this event, but I couldn't find a way. Someone might be able to create an add-on to solve this problem, but it will take someone cleverer than I.
Extensions that disable scripts on a site-specific basis:
    * If you regularly visit some sites which do this, you can block JavaScript on that specific site using the YesScript extension. Unfortunately, other script-based functionality will be blocked as well.
    * YesScript does not preemptively block scripts on every site. If you have to visit a lot of random sites and want to take a paranoid approach of having scripting blocked until you see as much of the site as you can see without running scripts, then the NoScript extension would be for you. But even then it's "all or nothing".
''* These include: JavaScript enabled yes/no, override right-click menu yes/no, change order of windows yes/no, move and resize windows yes/no, close windows yes/no, specific features of pop-up windows, change images yes/no, detect copy/cut/paste and modify selection yes/no.''

  • Bogus web site pops up in FireFox tabs during use

I recently had some virus problems on my computer. I erased some registry entries, and Trend Micro confirmed that my virus problems were solved. However, shortly afterwards, tabs unexpectedly pop up in my FireFox browser. They all open to the same web site:
    http://xn--czsp}ko!my {h-h-hta4h5c38e7b9i3da7xt65c0hf441y/
I then get a message from the browser:
"Alert The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded."
This happens as many as 4 times in a row.
Could you please tell me what is going on here, and what needs to be done to stop it?
    Thanks!

Gee, I guess I have another problem. I clicked to upload a screen shot of less than 200K and the spinning wheel upload progress indicator appeared to be stuck. I tried a second time but it still just continued to spin so there's no screen shot available. Sorry.

  • After installing, when the site pops up to say "here is another product...", nothing shows up?

After installing flash player, when the website pops up to say "here is another product...", nothing shows up on the site.  Is this a sign that there was a problem with the install?  I did a fresh install of FP12 as I was having crash issues with games/websites.  It would work, but inevitably, the player would crash.  I'm hoping a fresh install will solve it, but I'm not liking that nothing shows up on the Adobe site after this install completed.  Any thoughts on this would be welcomed.  Going to test the install now.
    Win7 Pro 64bit
    Firefox 27.0.1

    download the following:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Also, download these:
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 112 FULL installer (ther browsers)
You'll need to install Shockwave with the FULL installer for IE too, but there isn't a direct download for it. You'll need to go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ using IE AFTER everything else is done.
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
    Go to: C/Windows/System32
    Delete the Macromed folder.
    Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
    Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installers, and then the Shockwave FULL installer you downloaded.
Lastly, open IE and go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX (IE).
For Firefox, I recommend FlashBlock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/) It's prevent ANY Flash content from loading until you allow it manually. It can get to be a pain, but you eventually get used to it.

  • Trying to get the contact phone number on Verizon site and it is not working

I am trying to call teh Customer Support number to discuss my Order, but when I go to the Contact Us page and click on the Call Us link, I get a pop-up asking for my zip code and then I am taken right back to the Contact US - no phone #'s given.   This feature worked when I used it last Friday during normal business hours.
I also tried the Live Chat link to see if I could engage a live person that way.   This time the link took me to a page that gave me the option of linking to the Support Knowledge base or accessing the automated customer support 'person' (which is just an FAQ interface).
Help - how can I talk to a live person.    If live help (via phone or chat) is limited to certain hours, that should be posted.   user should not be given the virtual version of the run-around.
Does anyone have the technical contact phone number for Maryland/DC region?

    1-800-VERIZON
    1-888-553-1555
Both numbers feel like they hit the same place, and I know verizon has been consolidating all their numbers to the main one - so stick with that.
if you ever have trouble finding a contact number for any company, www.gethuman.com is a good resource

  • I am annoyed at how the Verizon site gets my hopes up

Ok so my wifes birthday is coming up in 2 weeks and I have heard her over and over how she wished she had a better phone and better camera. Now she has an old Iphone 4 and I have decided I would check and see if I could upgrade her phone. She is in contract still but she is available for the early edge upgrade. I check the box and hit next brings up the page with all the phones to choose from. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is the first phone on the list and shows full price as $799.99 and then shows the edge price of $33.33/mo. So I click on it and it is a very nice phone. I am like great. I choose the verizon edge option and then go though a few more screens with other options and then I get to the final verification page and I get an error message telling me that this phone is not available for the edge program and now wants to charge me full price. If it was not available to the EDGE Program why was I able to choose the this phone then. I am a lille annoyed but the error does say if I think I reached this error and do not think it is right to contact Verizon. So I open a chat Window and start my chat with a sales person. I tell her all this info here and after a couple minutes she comes back and tells me that this phone is not elidgable and only the Droid MAXX is available to the edge program. no where did I see that statement on the site as I was clicking though it. She said was only available to show you how the plan works not as an option to actually get. My question is this. IS it only or demonstration purposes and being able to choose this phone for the edge program upgrade is a mistake on the Verizon website or am I being lied to? I am very upset that I can choose all the options to get this phone for the edge program but at the end it say oops yeah we lied to you by the way...?

Dale1976,  We certainly want to make sure your wife has a great new phone that she is happy with! That is incredibly important. Let's clarify and make sure we find the best option. Any phone we offer can be purchased on Edge. We don't make exceptions to that at this time. Early Edge is a little different though. With Early Edge because it is being allowed to start early there are limits to what phones are available. Those can change over time and won't always be the same but right now the Droid MAXX is available. When the line is eligible to upgrade you would be able to start Edge with any phone you like such as the Galaxy Note Edge. Is she eligible to upgrade at this time? If not you can keep an eye on the web site for new promotions which might allow for different phones.   AndrewT_VZW Follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport If my response answered your question please click the "Correct Answer" button under my response.
