LG VOYAGER (Titanium) Screen sometimes goes all glitchy/blank, only recently?

I'm not to brag, but my phone is in amazing condition. I was extremely obsessive all these years about taking care of my phone, and have only dropped it once or twice (on carpet!) Anyways, I've had this phone 4 years and dearly love it, but unfortunately just very recently sometimes when I try to "wake it up" or flip it open the screens are grey! Then after pressing some random buttons or waiting a while and continuing to try to wake it up it usually does so. Also when I type sometimes it gets fuzzy or glitchy. I would love a smartphone, but my parents can't afford the dang expensive internet!! Anyone have a solution to solving my problem? It's only four years old and I like this phone...
Thank you.

Hello WesternPleasure,
I would like to offer you assistance with your beloved Voyager.  I had the Voyager when it first came out and always enjoyed it as well. While your device is certainly out of its 1 year manufacturer warranty, I can help troubleshoot. Has there been any type of liquid on the device? Does it seem like you are running a specific process when this happens, i.e. Receiving a text or a call? Have you attempted removing the battery and reinserting?  A final step may be to try a master reset of the device. Contacts can be stored through Backup Assistant. Pictures and videos can be saved to memory card, but be sure to take out the card before starting the reset process.
From the main screen, tap Menu
Tap Settings&Tools
Scroll to / Tap Phone Settings
Scroll to / Tap Security
EnterPhoneLockCode???? displays,
enter the 4 digit lock code ( default: last 4 digits of phone number ).
Scroll to / Tap Restore Phone
Permanently erases all contacts and user data.  Resets phone settings to factory defaults. This phone will need to be re-programmed.  Press <OK to continue. displays.
Tap OK to continue.
Enter Phone Lock Code ???? displays,
enter the 4 digit lock code ( default: last 4 digits of phone number ).
Once complete you will have to reprogram the phone by dialing *228 option 1. Run Backup Assistant to restore your contacts. Please let me now if I can assist further.

My screen on my mac has become loose and goes all glitchy with the whole screen covered in vertical lines, it also has a lump at the base of the screen when it closes but that can be pushed down, All can be fixed by placing the screen carefully but it is increasingly difficult - HELP

Bring it into an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.  If your MBP is not under warranty, you will br told what the costs are which you can accept or decline.  Look at iFixit.com or Powerbookmedic.com for do it yourself options.

  • My X6 screen is going stripy and blank

This only happened this morning after using my phone, i was browsing youtube, i had made a phone call, i had been on ovi stores and then suddenly the screen starts showing all of these multicoloured lines, flashing, like the display was giving up. It's a bit like when a computer monitor isn't plugged in properly. The touch still works, its just i can't see anything.
I tried resetting the phone, which it did, but it seems as though the phone software isn't the problem, its the display on the screen.
Is there any way i can fix this?

Does your issue match the one in the following thread?

If so, then I am pretty sure it's not a hardware fault, although on first appearance it would sure make you think so.
Not really sure what the cause is but the only suspects so far are either a 'feature' of a new firmware update, or, side effect of some 3rd party software.

  • How to quickly delete contact in message screen without going all the way to contacts screen?

If I get a message from Jessica and I decide to delete her as a contact in my iphone how can I do that without having to go back to my contacts list that contains 6500 entries and delete her? thanks

yeah forget it. iphone is so stupid. on blackberry I can just go directly to her name and delete her right there whereas on iphone if u go directly to her name and click edit there will be no option to delete her contact. u need to exit that screen, go to main menu then go to contacts then find her name again (among my 6500 contacts; i actually found an easier way so now I copy paste that person's name and find it easier that way in contacts) and then click edit and then go to the bottom of that edit page and click delete. very annoying and slow. some iphone feature are just inexplainably slow, long and annoying.

  • When I edit image it looks fine but when I save it, it goes all glitchy and some of it is transparent.

If you do not understand my title, here is a image of it. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2wlr4eo&s=8#.U-Iac9wXdlI So I'm using Photoshop CC, as I said, everything is fine until I save it.

  • Ibook g4 my screen is funny colored and some flashing sometimes goes back to normal anybody know whats wrong with it I just got it 2 weeks ago?

    I have a problem with a apple ibook g4 I bought 2 weeks ago
from ebay. It had tiger and I installed leopard on it and it had been
working perfectly for about a 2 weeks. There was nothing wrong using
tiger except it did not remember my settings. I would have set up my
email or itunes everytime the computer started. I wanted the updated
leopard so I installed that and it fixed the memory problems. After
that it worked great with no problems at all for a week, until now. Here is my problem when I start my
ibook it starts up with a blue screen instead of the grey screen. This all started when I closed the top and
put it in sleep mode when I opened it back up when it came out of
sleep mode the screen looked funny colored and a little
fuzzy. I have shut the top down and opened it hours later and it never did this before. Sometimes it will flash in and out of the funny colors to normal
look and other times it will stay that weird fuzzy off looking color. And it will start and sometimes flash between funny
looking to normal and then switch to normal color. I had no problems
with it doing this until 2 days ago. I am sending you
this email using my ibook g4 and it looks normal right now for a few seconds then it flashs a little and goes back to that weird screen. This
morning when I first started it up it went weird colored a little then
back to normal and stayed normal for about 1 minute. Yesterday when I was using it I saw
a quick blue colored flash once in a while as it looked normal other then the flash then went to the strange colors. It has never done this
before either until 2 days ago. My battery does not set
flush in the case but I don't think that would be a problem. My Ibook
is the 14" version with 1.42 Ghz  PPC 7450 chip and 1 Gb memory. This
is my 1st apple and not as familiar with it as windows. What do you
think is wrong with it? It worked so good up until now. I would hate
to just junk it I just bought it. I have heard it coulod be the logic board. Does anybody have a clue what is wrong? Any help would be VERY much appreciated. Thank You, Jim

It does sound like the logic board. It's not uncommon for an iBook with a faulty logic board to work intermittently. You can't count on it, though. It could fail completely at any time.
DT&T Computer Services in Fremont, California has the best deal I've found on logic board replacements. They do free diagnostics, so they would make sure that's what you need, and there is a six-month warranty on the repair.

I'm always a little sad that people are basing their opinions of Macs on these older iBooks. Yours is the newest iBook in existence, but it's still over five years old — ancient in computer terms.

  • My iMac is less than one year old.  Without warning, the screen suddenly goes black.  It used to happen occasionally, but is now happening all the time without warning.  What is Apple doing to correct the problem?

My iMac is less than one year old. Without warning, the screen suddenly goes black.  It used to happen ocasionally, but now it happens all the time.  Numerous people have posted about this issue. Why hasn't Apple solved the issue.  For what I paid my computer, I expected more from the product than I have gotten.  I was a PC person for years and most of my associates told me that I needed to get a mac...I am starting to regret having taken their advice.

    Sorry you're having this problem.
A few years ago we had a similar issue on one of our machines, it was an early MacBook. Ended up being a cracked circuit connection on the motherboard. Changes in temperature caused the crack to expand and contract resulting in a shut-down followed by an automatic reboot. Sometimes over-and-over. I understood from AppleCare at the time that those symptoms could have also been any number of things including a intermittent issue with a powersupply.
If you take it back to the Apple Store at some point, I would ask them to have it run some CPU intensive tasks that closely resemble what you are doing when the screen goes black. It took us several try's to find the problem. Calling AppleCare each time to discuss it and troubleshoot before making the trips to the Apple Store really moved things along. In fact, it wasn't until the Apple Store had cracked the case from the inside that things kicked into a higher gear and AppleCare phone support sent out a pre-paid FedX package to send it to a refurbishing facility. Never a problem since and I know the people who have the machine today.
PS Can identify with the trip to the Apple Store, our closest one is in Knoxville, 2hrs from us.

  • My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs or so, then the machine shuts down and restarts.

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
    Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • When using crop tool the screen goes all black

When I select the crop tool and drag it across the photo to select crop area, the screen goes all black so that I cannot see the area selected or modify its size.
All the boxes (size and resolution) of the tool are clear.
    Can somebody help me?
I did try resetting all tools but didn't change anything, I restarted the program, I restarted the computer and is still happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The advice that seems to work most often with this kind of failure is to update your video drivers from the web site of the maker of your video card.
Here are the links to the driver update pages for the two big video card makers:

  • What does mean when a imac screen goes all white

what does mean when a imac screen goes all white

Hopefully its not the logic board. try a PRAM reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
basically hold cmd, option, P, and R directly after start. Keep holding them down until you hear two chimes. That indicates a successful PRAM reset. It is not uncommon to hear 3.
If that doesnt work try an SMC reset. Pull out the power cord from the back of the mac for atleast 15 seconds. plug it in again for 5 seconds and power back on ...http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
