LI2323S Not Allowing Full Gaming Resolution?

Hey there, so I'm a complete newbie at this kind of thing so please bear with me. This is my first PC and thus my first monitor in a very long time.
But yeah, basically, with help of my computer nerd friends (who can't seem to diagnose this problem either, oops), I recently purchased a very nice, very expensive gaming/graphics PC. It was custom built through IBuyPower and definitely has that last part. Power. It has a Nvidia 970 graphics card, Intel i5 processor, 16 gb ram, etc. etc. And when I had it hooked up to my 42" TV, I was able to play every game in Ultra/Nvidia settings.
Then I hooked it up to this monitor. Again, I don't know much about monitors and how they work, but should they be able to cap your graphics settings? I can still access Ultra (but not Nvidia) in Far Cry 4. I'm honestly not even sure what Nvidia was, but I'm confused why it would no longer be an option on my monitor vs my TV.
I'm connected through a high speed HDMI cable, the same one I was using with my TV. If you guys have any idea what is causing this/how to fix this, I'd super appreciate it. If not, I'll probably return the monitor and buy another one.
P.S. A little disappointed Lenovo has made contacting them directly so very difficult. You have to Google to find their customer service line (which I didn't have time to call this morning), and I could not find an email. Perhaps I'm blind, but I also wager I'm a pretty Average Consumer, in which case... shouldn't it be easier to find, if I'm having problems? Just a side thought.

Humm... the dual Samsung 21.5" monitor setup on my 2010 Mac Mini running Mavericks works a expected.One is on the HDMI to DVI adapter and the other in on a Kanex Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Try > Display Menu from the Mac App Store and see if you can select 1920 x 1080 for both monitors using it.
Addtitionally, are you sure that it the HDMI to DVI monitor that is not getting the correct resolution...? Most people are complaining that it is a VGA connected monitor that is not getting the correct resolution.
If it turns out to be VGA connected monitor, then try using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter and DVI cable for that monitor instead of VGA.

I have a Mac Mini and using the HDMI to DVI cable that came with the computer the maximum resolution it will allow is 1280 x 1024. I have 2 of the same monitors. The other is connected with DisplayPort to VGA adapater and displays full resolution (1920 x 1080) on both monitors but the HDMI to DIV will only show 1280 x 1024. I thought maybe it was my DVI cable or the adapter but when I boot up in Windows 8.1 through bootcamp both monitors display at full 1920 x 1080 resolution. Why does Windows give me the option for full resolution on both but the Mac OS doesn't? All the latest updates have been installed. Civ3 not on full screen resolution

Hello here,
not too sure if this is the right place to ask, but I dont seem to find a solution o my problem.
When trying to play Civ3 1.21g on my MB Pro with 1440x900, the game does not use all of the available screen resolution - how can I change this to play on full screen?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is strange. I'd first try resetting the PRAM (Hold option-command-P-R keys down during startup until you hear the chime at least three times). A PRAM reset often fixes little startup bugs.
Although irrelevant to the issue, also repair permissions (never a bad idea) with disk utility. Onyx is also great for this and other maintenance tasks.

IMovie not importing full 1080 resolution

I've notices that when I import my 1080 HD videos that i've recorded on my iPhone to iMovie, it converts the video to 720p. I don't see a setting that says tells iMove that I want it to import the full quality. I've go the latest version of iMovie 10.0.2 and am very confused why this is not automatically doing this for me. Any suggestions would be fully appreciated.

The resolution of an iMovie 10 project cannot be set manually but is determined by the first clip to be added to the project. If your first clip is 1080p then the project should be 1080p. ( iMovie 10 on the Mac definitiely supports 1080p)
Try creating a new project and putting a single 1080p clip into it. then select the project and click Info (above the viewer). It should read 1080p HD. If it reads 720p then your clip must be 720p.
Assuming it reads 1080p you can then copy all of your project that was set to 720p to this new project and it should remain set at 1080p. You can remove that first clip if you need. The shared movie will be 1080p.

OWB does not allow full outer join

What does it mean? Is JOINER's full outer join is incompatible with KEY LOOKUP operator and KL should be replaced with WB_LOOKUP_NUM?

Key lookup always does a partial outer join. When the full outer join and partial outer join conditions are put together, there is no available syntax to facilitate it.
The way to this to generate the join operator (with full outer join) first in a subquery, then generate the key lookup as the outer query. Or the other way around, first the key lookup then the full outer join. The important part is that the key lookup can't be merged into the FROM-list.
So there are two workarounds. One is what you already pointed out, using WB_LOOKUP_NUM.
The other is to explicitly spell out the key lookup logic in the mapping by introducing a join with the lookup table, like this.

Windows 7 will not allow a high resolution for my apple 30" monitor?

For some reason I cannot change the resolution on my 30" monitor as high as I can on my 23 inch monitor. This results in super big windows and font 4 times the size of the 23 inch monitor. My IT searched for a driver but could not find one. I used to use windows XP and he did find a driver for that. Anyone know where we can find the right driver to solve this problem. The video card is a Radion. My computer is a 3 year old Mac Pro..

Recently I purchased an alienware M18 laptop installed with Windows 7 . I wanted to downlode the latest Itunes to this system as I have on other comptures I own. Itunes dowloaded and is accessible to a limited degree . What it will not do is provide access to the Itunes store. Something is blocking my access to the Itunes store and I have benn unable to determine what the obstruction might be.
If it's an alienware PC, plausibly you might be getting the Bigfoot networks variation of the problem described in the following document:

Wireless router not allowing full handshake in router mode

I have a recently-purchased rv220w wireless router. My setup is as follows: Internet -> asa 5505 -> 10.0.1.0 subnet -> wireless router (subnet 10.0.3.0, public facing ip is 10.0.1.140).
I can ping between the two subnets fine, but not much else. I did a packet capture with wireshark and noticed something really interesting. If I try to connect from a machine from the 10.0.1.0 subnet to the 10.0.3.0 subnet, say remote desktop for this example, I get a SYN, then a SYN_ACK, and then not ACK back. Only a reset (RST) is getting sent from the machine initiating the connection.
This is super weird. ANy help would please be appreciated. I have the detailed captures if necessary.

Error message, "server does not allow relaying". Resolution?

After I updated to iOS 7, my iPad stopped sending email from my primary account. The Error message indicated an incorrect address, which was my email address@the IMAP server. I deleted the account and re-entered the information. Now the error message says, "Server doesn't allow for relaying". Seeing as it did before, I assume this is correctable. Couldn't find any info on how to do so. Help?

When you checked the information, did you check the outgoing server settings?
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

E4200 not allowing full internet bandwidth

Hi
I have a 100mb conection and regularly get 90mb plus speed when conected direct to the modem. If I conect via the E4200 I only get 50mb ? I have tried disabling the firewall and QOS but this has had no effect. I am using a wired conection and the latest firmware. Its almost as the E4200 is capped at 50mb throughput.
Anyone got any ideas?

You have mentioned that you have the latest firmware on E4200. I assume its 1.0.0.3. Now, did you reset the router after you update the firmware. If not, please do that and reconfigure the router again using Cisco Connect.

External monitor not going full resolution on extended desktop

Hello,
I have a Gateway widescreen 1680x1050 resolution monitor plugged into my 13" Macbook Aluminum computer. When I have both my external and built in display turned on extended mode, my external monitor only goes up to 1600x1000 resolution, which is obviously lower than full-res. When I close the lid of my Macbook (and run the external display only), the external display goes up to full 1680x1050 resolution. Could someone please help me solve the problem of my Gateway external display going to less than full res on extended display mode.

There is a clue here in what might be going on. Note that the MacBook's 1280x800 display is a 16:10 aspect ratio (exactly). Now, the external resolution that is reported by shmootz is 1600x1000 which is also a 16:10 ratio. It looks to me that the system is running as if it is in the mirrored mode. The video driver will force the displays to the same aspect ratio when running as mirrored displays.
I'd try a few things to see if you can reset the display options. First, try toggling the "Mirror Displays" option in System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement. Second, you may want to try a reset of your PRAM and the SMC.

GDM does not allow resolution while Gnome does

My xorg.conf is set to default resolution 1024x768, and when I get into gnome I have 1152x864 set up and it works fine. If I set my default xorg.conf resolution to 1152x864 like my gnome, GDM isn't displayed and I have to login blindly. This would not be a problem except I want to run openbox in 1152x864 which uses the default xorg.conf resolution.
I'm using the proprietary ati drivers with my radeon x800. Any ideas?

Ok, I investigated problem a bit.

I tried removed autologin from /etc/gdm/custom.conf and rebooted system. GDM showed up, but it was not allowing me to login always failing with message, that authentication failed.

Problem: MBP Is not allowing external monitor Widescreen resolutions.

I am using a 27" LCD HD TV (Yes, TV, not monitor) DVI->DVI and the MBP will not allow me to use a widescreen resolution on my external monitor.
Yes, I assure you, it is Widescreen. The native resolution is 1280x720.
Anyone have a clue how I can fix this? Running a stretched 4:3 screen ***** HARD. This was my old windows PC monitor and I never had this issue before.

I've got the same problem. Tried SwitchResX with not much success. I'm using as second screen a Benq w100 projector. When I force resolutions like 854x480 at about 60Hz, the projector won't recognise it, which makes sense since the input is not supported as such from a PC.
I think the clue would be sending a HDTV/HDMI signal through the DVI cable. Has anybody managed to do this with the ATI Radeon X1600 that comes with the MBP?

Since upgrading from V6 to V7 the ITunes has not allowed the videos to be seen in full screen on an external monitor (TV). Although V6 allows the videos to be seen in full screen, it does not allow me to make further puchases of videos unless I upgrade to V7. Catch22 Why? How

My install disc is not allowing me to install the full version, when I attempt to install & enter my SS# it informs me to contact customer service. Why?

Imovie is limited to its import formats and does not allow for storing video in any rawformat. Which means all videos will contain lossy compression applied to the video-.with no way to edit full format video. Is this statement true?

yes and no!
using the intended Import from Camera routines, iM converts automatically in its very own AppleIntermediateCodec. so, answer is yes.

a) Apple claims , aic is non-lossy intermediate codec. working with proRes in FCPX taught me, there are even less non-lossy-ness codecs
b) iM offers an Archive feature, which is basically a simple Finder/copy operation which 'clones' your SDcards content into some folder on your harddrive; e.g. you can later use these untouched 'raws' in another editor such as FCPX. so, answer is no.
c) when you 'override' the import routines by manually re-wrapping mts into a mov container, iM handles the 'native' h264s ... so, answer is no.
d) adding any effect, transition etc. reduces any interlaced source to 540p. (if you're working with 720p source, res is kept) … so, answer is yes. or, in 720p case, no.

one thing to be kept in mind when talking about these 'issues':
iM, this 12€, is meant as a CONSUMER toy tool.
it supports AVCHD vers1 (=no 1080/60p, no >24Mbps, no 3D).
fingers crossed, we'll see soon some iM/QT/FCPX update for support of AVCHD v2 ........
the main consumer devices are within the specs, iM supports.
using professional equipments makes usage of professional software (FCPX, AP) optional.
