LI2721s removing the arm

I just ordered 2 of these 27" monitors and am very happy so far. I mounted them on a dual arm assembly. One thing I thought I would share because a quick search did not reveal any detail...
In order to remove the arm, you have to pry off a small rectangular cover on the back and undo 4 screws. I recommend using a small flathead screwdriver to pry it off.
The PDF guide is laughable in providing any help. The section on it lists 2 steps... 1) lay it down 2) remove the arm. If I am going to the guide, a little more detail or a diagram would have helped!

And in the event all you have is a flat head screwdriver and no spudger tool, covering the tip of the screwdriver with electrical tape helps prevent scratching up the plastic. For those that care

Has anyone removed the stand from the monitor?

I love my 30" Cinema Display, but it sits too high on my desk, and find myself tilting my head up to see towards the top of the screen. I hate the thought of modifying the work of art that it is, but if I removed the stand, it would sit perfectly at eye-level. Obviously, I would have to make a stand/support to allow it to be free-standing. Either that or modify the desk itself. Has anyone tried removing the stand from the monitor? Feedback?

As NullUnit mentioned, it is quite easy to remove the stand but you will need the VESA adapter kit to replace it. This will give you the standard 100mm VESA mounting holes that you would then connect to any mounting arm you wish.
Personally I bought this MX Desk Mount Arm as it was rated to hold the weight of the display (~30#) whereas others were not (~18#). I originally mounted the display in a vertical/portrait orientation but the arm didn't go high enough so I had to mount a 6" block of wood to my desk first. I enjoyed the monitor so much that I have since moved it to become my primary monitor. The arm allowed me to lower the display all the way to my desk so I could just look over it (to watch TV). Couldn't have if it was still on the stand.

I have a HP All In One PC 23 inch model 23-b030 that the hard drive failed on...
How do you remove the back cover to get to the hard drive to replace. I removed the 5 screws on the back but I can not get it appart.

27": How do you remove the stand?

My boss just got a new 27" Cinema Display, and would like to attach it to the monitor arm he's been using with a 30" Cinema Display.
We have a VESA adapter, but we can't quite figure out how to remove the 27" original base. The 27" display's manual provides no information.
Help?

The VESA kit that Apple sells comes with a plastic card very much like a credit card. You slide the card through the top opening right where the stand meets the display to disengage a latch within the display. The manual that ships with the VESA adaptor does a good job explaining it but like you said there is no information in the monitor's user manual. If you need further assistance let me know. I would not attempt it without full instructions since it is a bit tricky.

Removing the hard drive should suffice. Use Google to find takeapart instruction, using you iMac's processor description in the search.
At eight years old, it is probably a G4 (the "desk lamp" style with an articulated display arm and white hemispherical base). So the search string would be "iMac G4 takeapart." If it turns out to be some other processor, simply substitute that processor (G3 or G5) for "G4."
The HD may not be bad, so you could keep it and connect to a newer Mac to retrieve files using this handy and inexpensive gadget:

I get a status 200 with a message from the site that it is under construction. If I am using the correct URL (www.usana2013.co.za) maybe you need to clear your Firefox cache.

You can install the new hard disk yourself if you want to. You just need a 2'5" SATA II hard drive, which is compatible with your MacBook Pro. You can buy one at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/ You can filter hard drives by computer, so press a "Click to view all...", choose your computer in the sidebar and it will give you the compatible hard drives.
There are different brands for the MacBook Pro. The most recommended are HGST and Seagate, which have good reputation. A 7200 rpm hard drive will give you extra performance
