  • IPhone to Macbook Bluetooth connects then after 2 seconds disconnects.

Well the subject line pretty much explains it all...
My macbook is able to detect my iPhone but the iPhone just keeps searching indefinitely, if I configure a new device I get the "passkey" screen on the iPhone, I click connect and it does for 2 seconds then disconnects. It adds my Macbook to the list of bluetooth devices but it never "sees" it...
I can see it on my System Preferences Bluetooth window, that the light goes from red-disconnected to green-connected when I tap on my Macbook in the list but after about 1 second the light goes red again...
    Any ideas?
ps: my iPhone and Macbook are about close enough.

    Guys,
Take a look in the Iphone console messages when I'm trying to connect my Iphone with my Mac Book Pro by Bluetooth.
I got the console messages using the Iphone configuration Utility 2.0 available in the Apple site.

  • Connecting iphone to macbook bluetooth

can anyone let me no where i can find a step by step guide on how to connect my iphone to my macbook bluetooth please please please

what i mean is i simply wont to connect my iphone to my macbook via bluetooth i was
able to do this with my motorola and transfer songs files ect what i am asking is can
this be done without an internet or tethered connection but a simple bluetooth
connection my mac recognises the phone and my phone recognises the mac but
it says in my bluetooth manager not connected only paired
You only do this through iTunes with a USB connection. Not sure why anyone would want to do this. bluetooth is terribly slow, a tiny fraction of the speed of USB 2

  • How can i connect macbook pro with iphone 4 via bluetooth?

I`ve connected iphone with macbook pro few weeks ago for i-net surfing, but i had to use cable. Now i wanna try icloud, and i`ve faced that trouble. My mbp sees iphone, makes pair, but fails to connect it. If i try it with iphone, a message "mbp cant be connected, it isn`t connectible device"-something like this- appears and mbp disappears from known devices list. How can i solve that?
    MacBookPro8,3 (17")-june 2011
    Boot ROM:          MBP81.0047.B1E
    SMC:          1.70f3
    Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549)
    iphone 4 16 gb
    model MC603ZA
    ios 4.3.5 (8L1)
    boot rom 04.10.01

I have somehow the same problem. I just bought the new iPhone 4S and tried to connect it to my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6, latest version, model 2011). The Phone did not see the Mac but the Mac the Phone, so I connected the Phone via Mac.
It worked for about 5 seconds, but then I got this error message:
It's German and means that the network is not available.
Of course I tried again to connect, but I now get always this error:
It says that the device is not available...
I deleted the iPhone from the list under Mac and tried again, but it's still the same.
No my Questions to the community:
Why does the iPhone not see the MacBook?
    Why does it allways disconnect?
Is Sync not possible via Bluetooth?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Can't find my Macbook Pro on my iPhone 5s via Bluetooth

Hello. When I try to find my Macbook Pro on my iPhone 5s via bluetooth, it just keeps saying "searching". What could be the problem?

Other than for Internet tethering, You cannot connect with your Mac using Bluetooth.
What are you trying to do?

  • Iphone 6 + Macbook 2013 Bluetooth not linking up

I have them on the same network, they're both wireless.
I have tried to pair them but it fails every time, it pairs successfully then disconnects immediately after being paired and it will not connect again unless I forget device but it goes through the same loop as above and never stays connected to each other.
After it disconnects I have tried double clicking my iPhone 6 listing in my Macbook Bluetooth settings and the following message pops up: Network is Disabled. Make sure network access is enabled'.
In my iPhone 6 Bluetooth settings it shows two listings of my Macbook Pro (only one of those can I forget the other is always there without an option to forget it).
When I click on the paired listing or the non paired option I get the following message: Connection Unsuccessful Make sure "Macbook Pro" Is turned on and in range.
    Airplay works fine.
I tried resetting network settings, reboot my modem, router, clearest all my settings in my phone & nothing gets these two to work together correctly.
During this message I did get them to connect but it's never permanent. It works for a few moments then disconnects and I have to try over and over in my phone to connect just to get them to work for a few seconds more.

Just noticed as well, after about 10 minutes, the volume jumps back down again! There is no change I have made in the audio settings on either the phone or speaker and the volume bar on either doesn't move when this happens.

  • Bluetooth Issues iPhone 6 & MacBook Air/ Earpiece

    Having two issues,
1)Can't get my new iPhone 6(iOS 8.2) & my New just purchased MacBook Air to sync via bluetooth
2)Can't get my Plantronics earpiece to sync with my iPhone 6 via bluetooth.
Any suggestions for overcoming this obstacle would be helpful

Re #1, the iPhone is not designed to pair (or sync) with any computer using Bluetooth except for using Personal Hotspot and will only do that if your cellular plan supports it. There are some features (e.g. Handoff) that will only work if Bluetooth is on for both devices, but they are not paired. More information: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?

  • HT204144 File transfer using Airdrop from iphone to Macbook Pro

File transfer using airdrop form Macbook Pro to iphone is working...but from iphone to Macbook Pro is not working, Why?

    Hi Brok25;
Thanks for the question.  The resource below explains the specs and settings that are needed for AirDrop.  Check the settings and look to see if your MacBook Pro is listed.
Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203106
Sending files to and from an older Mac
If a Mac you're using with AirDrop was manufactured before 2012, you can send and receive files with other Mac computers.
On the sending Mac, click "Don't see who you're looking for" in the AirDrop window.
Select the option to "Search for an Older Mac."
On the receiving Mac, open a new Finder window and click AirDrop in the sidebar.
    Tips for sending files
Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your Mac and your iOS device. Although you don't have to connect to a specific network, Wi-Fi needs to be on to send and receive files using AirDrop.
Move your devices closer together. AirDrop is designed to work within a range of approximately 30 feet (9 meters). If you need to send a file to someone farther away, consider using File Sharing, iCloud, or email instead.
If you're using a firewall on your Mac, you won't be able to receive AirDrop files if you have enabled "Block all incoming connections" in the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences.
Make sure your devices meet system requirements for AirDrop.
    System Requirements
To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.
In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
your iOS device needs to include a lightning connector
your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed
your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite installed
Your Mac and iOS device both need bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. You do not have to be connected to a specific Wi-Fi network.
To transfer files between two Mac computers, you need the Mac models listed below with Wi-Fi turned on and OS X Lion or later installed.
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
*The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
For help identifying your Mac, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You can refer to the Apple Support website to find out if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch includes a lightning connector.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Wireless Dre Beats & iPhone 4 (via Bluetooth)

I'm struggling to connect my new Wireless Beats by Dre (Headphones) to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth. No such problems exist when I connect them to my Macbook. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the (negative) answer. So the only way to synchronize the iphone with the MacBook is to use the cable? Would not have expected that is does not work ...

  • Why can i not connect my iphone 4S via bluetooth to my macbookair?

i have tried to connect my iphone 4s via bluetooth and it says that my macbook air is not supporting this feature after i follow all the steps when connecting. Can someone help me with this problem?

The only thing you can connect an iPhone to your Macbook over BT for would be tethering, which would be done through the Personal Hotspot settings on the iPhone, not the BT settings. iOS doesn't support the BT profiles for trasferring files.

  • We have an "old school" DVD player (Sony dvp-nc80v) that plays music throughout our home.  Is there a connector that we can purchase to hook-up our iPhone or MacBook Air to also play music until we buy some new equipment?

We have an "old school" DVD player (Sony dvp-nc80v) that plays music throughout our home via connection to multiple embedded speakers.  Is there a connector/piece of hardware that we can purchase to hook-up our iPhone or MacBook Air to also play music until we buy some new equipment?

A crude but effective way would ,assuming the Sony has an AUX in ,
    is a stereo bluetooth receiver
plugs into aux and recives music over B/T from
the iPhone etc ,as used by many in vehicle
    For instance as an example

  • How can I safe my data back from the Time capsule to iphone and macbook?

    Hi,
last weekend we were robbed while being on vacation and iphones and macbook air got stolen. Good thing was that at home we had a time capsule and our normal macbook. As soon as we get the new iphones and the new airbook we want to get our itunes and apps and datas back to the iphones and airbook ... can somebody tell us how to re-safe or back-safe stuff from the time capsule back to the equipment?
Thank you ... I feel so "naked" without my phone :-(
    Virtualkate

Sorry about your loss. Follow the directions here to use Time Capsule to restore your new Air to the state your old Air was in when stolen. When you first connect your new phones, you'll be given the option of restoring from the backup of your old phones or setting up as new. Restore from your previous backups, followed by syncing your content back to your phones. You should be good to go. Maintaining current backups makes this a piece of cake.

  • How to get Photos from iPhone to MacBook?

I've just upgrade my iPhoto library to the new Photos app and photos which used to automatically copy from my iPhone to all my devices, including MacBook are no longer copying. I can't use iCloud as I have too many photos to mirror the whole library and connecting my iPhone to MacBook by cable no longer syncs via iTunes either ... HELP please

and connecting my iPhone to MacBook by cable no longer syncs via iTunes either ... HELP please
After connecting to your Mac by USB download directly to Photos or to Image Capture.
If iTunes does not copy from your photo libraries to the iPhone, it looks like you enabled iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Then iTunes will no longer sync photos, and My Photo Stream will no longer stream from your Mac to your Phone.
Try to disable iCloud Photo Library in Settings > Photo&Camera.
