Lib path as NT file path
I'm running OC4J 9.0.3 and I'm trying to add a jar on another server to application.xml library path. It works if I use the local drive mapping (G:\) but not the UNC server name.
<library path="\\manofs1\Groups\NOSProject\development\libraries\ecs\ecs-1.4.1.jar" />
also tried <library path="file://manofs1/Groups/NOSProject/development/libraries/ecs/ecs-1.4.1.jar" />
which didn't work.
Any Ideas?
As per my knowledge we do not support UNC. The path has to either relative or an absolute path. We recommend to you keep the libraries locally because the network may have some adverse impact.

How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system
Hi Firends,
How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system , whenevr i will click on browse button.
Please give reply for this one , if anybody knows.
Thanks,
Anderson.Hi Anderson,
if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/FileReference .html
This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/filesystem/File.h tml
(so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.
hth,

Difference between logical file path and physical file path
Hi,
Can anyone tell me why logical file path is required and why physical file path is required? What exactly is the difference bet them?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
PS.Hi,
The function module FILE_GET_NAME convert a logical path into its corresponding physical path.
The advantage of using logical pathes within your applications is obivous:
If you need to change the physical path you just adjust it within transaction FILE yet no changes are required to your application.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/25/ab3a57df3b11d189fc0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
The file names that you use in ABAP statements for processing files are physical names. This means that they must be syntactically correct filenames for the operating system under which your R/3 System is running. Once you have created a file from an ABAP program with a particular name and path, you can find the same file using the same name and path at operating system level.
Since the naming conventions for files and paths differ from operating system to operating system, ABAP programs are only portable from one operating system to another if you use the tools described below.
To make programs portable, the R/3 System has a concept of logical filenames and paths. These are linked to physical files and paths. The links are created in special tables, which you can maintain according to your own requirements. In an ABAP program, you can then use the function module FILE_GET_NAME to generate a physical filename from a logical one.
Maintaining platform-independent filenames is part of Customizing. For a full description, choose Tools ® Business Engineer ® Customizing, followed by
Implement. projects ® SAP Reference IMG. On the next screen, choose Basis Components System Administration ® Platform-independent File Names.
For a more detailed description of the function module FILE_GET_NAME, enter its name on the initial screen of the Function Builder and choose Goto Documentation. On the next screen, choose Function module doc.
Another way of maintaining platform-independent filenames is to use the Transaction FILE. The following sections provide an overview of the transaction.
To create a logical filename, choose Logical filename definition, client-independent from the Navigation group box in Transaction FILE, then choose New entries. You define logical filenames
You can either define a logical filename and link it to a logical path (as displayed here), or you can enter the full physical filename in the Physical file field. In the latter case, the logical filename is only valid for one operating system. The rules for entering the complete physical filename are the same as for the definition of the physical path for the logical file. To display further information and a list of reserved words, choose Help.
If you link a logical path to a logical file, the logical file is valid for all syntax groups that have been maintained for that logical path. The filename specified under Physical file replaces the reserved word in the physical paths that are assigned to the logical path. To make the name independent of the operating system, use names that begin with a letter, contain up to 8 letters, and do not contain special characters.
Save your changes.

Logical file path problem in lsmw
Hi folks,
I created logical file path in FILE tcode. its created and assigned physical file path to logical file path.
then i am assigning that logical file path into lsmw step (specify file step).
under specify file i am assigning into import data and convert data.
once read data step completed read data must be save under this physical file but data is not saving under this path.
can any one help me out this..
1.can any one help how to create physical file in file tcode
2.how to assigne that physical file to lsmw step specify fileHi Srikanth,
There is no need to create the logical file path using the FILE transaction.
Under Specify file step, you need to give your local file path in LEGACY DATA Section.
Please check the below link in using the LSMW step by step.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/LSMWStepsin+Detail
Hope this helps.

How to get FILENAME from FILE PATH
does anyone know how to get filename from a file path for example
FILE PATH: C:\Project\uploadbean\web\uploads\Button.txt
returns
FILENAME: Button.txt@BalusC
ust for a reference cause i'm new in JSP This has nothing to do with JSP, but with basic knowledge of an essential API. I have given you the link to the File API. Are you saying that you refused to read the API documentation, which clearly explains you how to use the File and shows which methods are all available to you undereach the straightforward getName() method, and expecting that the others may chew the answers for you? Loser. -
I changed my file organization by placing my images in an
images folder, instead of just loose on the server. In addition, I
uploaded revised html pages several times that have updated code
for the file paths, directing the file paths to the images folder.
However, when I view the source code from the actual page in the
Internet, the file paths do not point to the images folder. Even if
I look at the page in remote view online in Dreamweaver, the file
paths are correct. But if you click on the link on the Internet
(www.mygrafica.com/Layout.htm, click on the Dell ad), the page
cannot be viewed.This file -

Excel invalid path in exe file
Hi,
I have an issue with my application I'm using the report file generation tool to read data from an excel file and I receive an error
"Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS, and / on UNIX."
when I open my xls file I was told that it is because the path in the exe file doesn't match the path during devellopement, in the exe file it seems to point to a dll file.
Does anybody have a solution?
Thank you
OlivierHi,
Does your program work fine in the development system, and the problem occures after building an exe-file ?
If that.s the case, I have had a similar problem. I solved it by adding some of the VIs in the _excelsub.llb located in "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office" to my project and then to "dynamic VIs and support files" in the build specification. I could not add the complete llb because some of the VIs where broken (maybe some issue with my installation.. ). If you look trough the code in the report VIs you use you find the VIs that are dynamicly linked and therefore have to be added to the build.
Good Luck !

[SOLVED] Can't boot Windows 8 using grub2. invalid EFI file path
English is not my native language. Please excuse typing errors.
I have just successfully installed Arch linux with grub2 as its boot manager. I
followed the arch beginner guide. I've used grub before and I'm familiar with
it, so chose to use grub instead for efistub. I installed os-prober and
ran grub-mkconfig to create the grub.cfg file. The problem now is that I recieve
an error when I try to boot windows 8. I have two drives (/dev/sda and /dev/sdb)
and I believe both are EFI-systems.
However, it's not very important for me to use grub, so if booting into windows
8 is easier using efistub, I will try that.
The computer is ASUS ux32vd with a hybrid disk with 25GB on the SSD and 500GB on
the hard drive. I believe the SSD part is used by Windows.
This is the first error I recieved when I tried to boot windows.
error: can't find command `drivemap'.
error: invalid EFI file path.
Press any key to continue...
Then I tried to follow this post
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=150183 and made a new boot
entry "Windows 82". And I got a new error:
error: unspecified search type.
error: file '/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi' not found
Press any key to continue...
Here are some command line outputs.

EDIT:
I gave up trying to make grub work, so I uninstalled grub and deleted all the grub files I could find.
# pacrem grub-efi-x86_64
# rm -fr /boot/grub
That last one I came to regret later on. So I installed rEFInd using the archlinux beginners guide. When I then tried to boot into windows It told me that /boot/grub/x86_64-efi/normal.mod was not found. I then reinstalled grub-efi-x86_64 and copied /usr/lib/grub/x86_64 to /boot/grub. Now everything works fine.

The EFI stub loader is a Linux-only boot loader; however, it is possible to use the EFI stub loader in conjunction with a separate boot manager, such as rEFInd or gummiboot. In such a configuration, you'd use the boot manager to select the OS to boot (Windows or Linux, and possibly the specific Linux kernel), and the boot loader (the Windows loader or the EFI stub loader built into a specific kernel) will then take over booting the OS. In Arch, this is often easier to configure than is GRUB, since GRUB is very complex and its automated tools to help with setting things up often get it wrong.
This is the first error I recieved when I tried to boot windows.
error: can't find command `drivemap'.
error: invalid EFI file path.

The "drivemap" command in GRUB is generally used when booting a BIOS-mode boot loader, and in fact your "Windows Recovery Environment (loader) (on /dev/sda2)" and "Windows 8 (loader) (on /dev/sda4)" GRUB entries are both built as for BIOS-mode Windows installations -- but the fact that your disks both use GPT means that Windows won't boot in BIOS mode on your computer. (This is one of the many things that the GRUB setup scripts can get wrong.)
Then I tried to follow this post
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=150183 and made a new boot
entry "Windows 82". And I got a new error:
error: unspecified search type.
error: file '/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi' not found
Press any key to continue...
Both your "Windows 8" and "Windows 82" entries refer to an EFI boot loader file called EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi on your EFI System Partition (ESP). This should be correct, but your Boot Info Script output doesn't show any evidence of such a file. Sometimes Boot Info Script misses such things, so you may want to check it just to be sure. Your ESP is /dev/sda1, and it looks like it's being mounted at /boot/efi by default, so check for the /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft directory tree, and for /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi in particular. If that file isn't present, then something is wrong -- perhaps you mistakenly erased the ESP when you installed Linux, thus wiping out the Windows boot loader; or perhaps the file was accidentally deleted somewhere along the way. (Note that on FAT, which the ESP uses, case is irrelevant, and in fact case varies between the filenames reported by Boot Info Script and what's recorded in your configuration files.)
You do have another boot loader file that may be a duplicate of the Windows boot loader: EFI/BOOT/bkpbootx64.efi. This filename is generally created by Ubuntu's "Boot Repair" tool, which IMHO can do as much harm as good, especially on a system that's not booting Ubuntu. If you ran this tool, though, it's conceivable that bkpbootx64.efi is a copy of the Windows boot loader, so copying it to EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi might get things working. OTOH, the Windows boot loader relies on other files to do its job, so if they're not present, copying the Windows boot loader to its original location won't be sufficient.
If you can't get things working based on the preceding suggestions, I recommend you run a Windows repair tool. These are accessible from a Windows recovery disc. Such disc images are readily available on the Internet, but I don't happen to have any links handy. Try Microsoft's own site; images obtained from random third-party sites might contain malware. Once you've done this, chances are the computer will boot directly into Windows. You'll then need to either restore GRUB as the default boot loader or install another boot loader or boot manager. You can use the Windows "bcdedit" command to do the former, as in:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\arch-grub\grubx64.efi
You'll need to type this from an Administrator Command Prompt window. -
Using a real file path to include a JSP using RequestDispatcher
Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to use RequestDispatcher inside a servlet to include a jsp page using a real file path instead of a context path. So for example I would want to do something like...
RequestDispatcher rd = this.getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("c:/tomcat/conf/think.jsp");
Is this possible? tomcat is complaining that the path does not start with a "/"
From a higher level I am trying to setup a solution where all of my web applications can share a set of global jsp pages and other resources. I know the easiest solution would be to put everything into one web application but this does not make sense in my situation because I have differnet web applications for different companies on the same server. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - krebsnetFirst of all...
My test environment is Tomcat 4.1.24 and it runs on port 80 as my webserver as well.
I can place the .jsp (or .html) in the shared folder. Not in the lib or class folders but right in the shared folder. I can then call it from multiple contexts without using the context path. Just tested it a minute ago. For example I have test.jsp in the shared folder and loaded it from two separate contexts (one named /demo and one named /inetapps) by calling Load test. It loaded in both of them and neither contain a test.jsp file. -
What is the absolute path of my file?
Suppose my file is at the location
C:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications\r1\r1\WEB-INF\lib\us-english-v2-whole.dict
what is the absolute path of this file.Congrats on 20k warner.
Of course, if you're going to try to use that path in a String literal, you'll have to escape the backslashes
String absPath = "C:\\blah...";In Java, most File I/O classes are smart enough to translate a path into one that works with your platform. So when using paths in say a File object, you can just use forward-slashes to be consistent and not have to escape them. -
I am using a class which is present in a jar file.
There are lot of versions of this jar file are present on machine.
I am accessing one class from this jar.
How do I know which jar is used by application.
How to get the path(path on machine like c:\java\lib) of this jar file.URL jarURL = this.getClass().getResource("/whatever.class");will return you a jar:// URL. Experiment with that. (Remember that "whatever.class" needs to be prefixed by the full name of the package the class is in.)

Getting a runtime exception saying file/path not found
Hey, I'm pretty new to Java, or programming, and I'm trying to make this program work which asks the user for a file that stores transactions made using their creditcard and then posts a statement, but when i run the program, I get an error saying that the file/path was not found even though, the file is saved in the same directory as the public class, and my second problem is that i have to get the program to read the code, which is the first token in the loop as upper or lower case, i.e. that it is case-insensitive...any help would be greatly appreciated...

I need to disply several file paths in the same panel. In order to reduce
panel size I would like to use the 'dotted' Windows notation like
'C:\WIND...\FILE.TXT and let the user display the full path in a separate
window. Is there a standard Windows function to obtain the reduced string
from the full path name?
TIAHi all, I still have problems with includes in extendscript. Has somebody an idea how to write a function to include aboslute file like this: include (MY_SCRIPT_DIR + 'test.jsx'); // result shoud be something like that // #include "/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/extendscript-library.org/lib/photoshop/photoshop-lib.jsx" Thanks you!
