Libcups conflicts with existing cups setup ?

When I try to upgrade libgtk (to try and solve a 'unable to locate theme engine...' in gtk) it requires libcups to be upgraded - 1.2.7-1
But when it tries to install libcups, It reports:
error: the following file conflicts were found:
  libcups: /usr/bin/cups-config: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/cups.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/http.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/image.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/ipp.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/language.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/md5.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/ppd.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/include/cups/raster.h: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/lib/libcups.so: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/lib/libcups.so.2: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/lib/libcupsimage.so: exists in filesystem
  libcups: /usr/lib/libcupsimage.so.2: exists in filesystem
Why is there a conflict here with an existing cups installation ? I've got these packages
installed:
[root@adamscomputer adam]# pacman -Qs cups
local/cups 1.1.23-5
    The CUPS Printing System
local/libgnomecups 0.2.2-2
    GNOME cups library
local/libgnomeprint-cups 2.12.1-2
    Printing routines for GNOME
   THanks.

I believe that the reason for these error is that, several months ago, the cups package was splitted into cups and libcups. Check  if these files belongs to cups. If so, update both cups and libcups:
# pacman -S cups
# pacman -S libcups

  • Install Forms 6i to work with existing 8i setup

I am trying to install Forms 6i for use with an existing 8i Enterprise setup. When I ran the installation I was prompted for a new home. I specified a new home and Forms 6i was succesfully installed into this home. I wish to now use Procedure Builder and other Forms tools with the 8i database. When I am prompted to login to the database I specify my login and password and supply the 8i database name. I get an error TNS: could not resolve service name. What can I do to fix this?

  • Can I use our PC with existing SCXI setup (conencted to a PC by PCI-MIO-16E4) and use one labview application to communicate with FP and SCXI systems at the same time?

We have an existing PC with SCXI setup. can i plug in a PCI-485/2 card connected to a FP-1001 network, and get both systems to be utilized in a single labview VI?

Yes, you can utilize both sets of resources (SCXI and FieldPoint) at the same time from the same VI.
If you were using the SCXI RS-485 interface, the SCXI and FieldPoint system would have to be on separate serial ports. Beyond that, there should be no real restrictions on accessing both of them.

  • Creative Cloud conflicts with existing CS5 package

Hi. I've seen a few questions kind of like mine, but they haven't really answered what I need to know, so, I've just been sent a promotional mail regarding becoming a full Creative Cloud member which I am considering, but first I'd like to know, how will this affect the package I already have? I have my own copy of the CS5 Web Premium package. Will there be any licensing conflicts? And if I choose to drop the Creative Cloud membership at any time will this cause any problems with the programs I already have?
    Thanks.

No and no. You are overthinking it. CC is just like any other major upgrade version in the past - it keeps to itself and doesn't do anything to your existing programs. Only the licensing is different this time. Beyond the usual is to be expected - fiel associations and shared components will refer to the latest version, so e.g. invoking Bridge from CS5 may call up Bridge CC, regardless.

  • New AD 2012 setup, integrating with existing 2008 setup

I would like to setup AD for a client.
I currently have a Windows 2008 file server with a single local user that everyone uses to connect, wide open permissions, no groups, very basic and simple setup.
I have created two new test 2012 R2 servers for AD, I can join my workstation to the Domain, login with an AD user and mount the shared drive from the fileserver, create files etc, everything works.
When I created the domain I selected 2012 functional level.
Would it be best to keep everything at the 2012 level and upgrade the fileserver to 2012 and then join the domain?
Or redo the AD setup and make it compatible with 2008 and 2012 servers, then I can just join the server to the domain.
I am hesitant to touch the fileserver, not sure how well upgrading from 2008 to 2012 works?
The main reason for setting up AD is for group policy, permissions on the server, setting up groups etc.
    Thanks for any advice.

The functional level only apply to DCs (e.g. you can only have Windows Server 2012 DCs or later) - So you can go ahead and join the file server to the domain just as you did with the workstation.

  • Conflict with my network setup--Help!

    Hi Helpers,
I have a Windows unit, an iMac G5 and a MBP on my home Airport Extreme network.
    1) When the MBP is connected to the net, the Windows unit won't work, but the iMac does.
    2) Windows unit Works fine when MBP airport is turned off.
    3) I can run the iMac and the MBP together.
    4) When iMac airport is on, I can run Windows unit.
Any suggestions how I can get internet access with all 3 units? I'm thinking it is a problem with the MBP connection, but I don't have a clue what it could be.

  • Cannot register PayPal account - conflict with existing registration

    Hi,
I originally set up a FormsCentral subscription, created a form and successfully registered it to a PayPal account. So far so good.
I then set up a new FormsCentral subscription (for another team) and duplicated the form from the previous account (via sharing) such that a new form was created under the new account and such that the new form was owned by the new account. However now when I try to register the new form to the same PayPal account I get the message below.
The registration looks like it has succeeded, the Enable PayPal Payments checkbox is ticked, I can see the Purchase Fields (as copied from the original form) and I can also Test the form. However PayPal does not come up on the new form, it does not get activated. What is going on? Also, if I try and Re-register the same PayPal account, FormsCentral does not tell me that the account is already registered, like it does on the original form.
If I can only have one PayPal account across all FormsCentral accounts then I want to use the PayPal account on the new FormsCentral account, but how do I do that?
    John.

    Hi John,
We do have the restriction that a single PayPal account would only work for one FormsCentral account. However, you are allowed to register the same PayPal account in another FC account, but the forms in your current FC account would lose their payment ability.
I tried the same scenario as yours: create a payment form, share it to another user, duplicate that form in another user account, and register the same PayPal account in that account. Then I can pay with the form in another user account. Everything works fine to me.
The problem you saw might be due to an known bug, which we have been fixed a while ago. Your document might have been created before the bug fix, so it still has the problem. Do you mind sharing the form to me ([email protected]) so that I can verify if the problem is due to the one I mentioned?
To get around the current problem so that you can continue your work, please do this:
    1. In your old account, open the form you want and export the form design with File->Export Design File and save the .fcdt file in a temp folder.
    2. Log in to your new account, and import the design file in Form Organizer with File->Import Design File.
    3. Open the imported form and register the desired PayPal account.
Please let me know if this does not work for you.

  • Each time I connect to my IBM computer it crashes with blue screen error message pops up. Apple say that it's my printer/camera drivers. The problem is with iTunes, it likes to play with all the ports on my comp and conflicts with prnt drivers. How to fix

Does anyone know how to fix this problem without disabling my printer. It's very frustrating. It's either I have my iPad or my printer. iTunes likes to play with the ports on my computer thereby causing a conflict with my printer drivers. Apple should fix this problem, I'm so annoyed.

When this problem first happened, I searched for threads and found a few.  See be;ow links:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
Apple say that its a driver problem, but I've never had this problem before so I am not convinced. Another thread, which I can't seem to find, suggests that it is an apple problem - itunes plays with the ports on the company causing conflicts with existing drivers. I isolated the conflict to my new Samsung printer. I uninstalled the Samsung printer driver and then can successfully connect my ipad without the blue screen appearing.
It's not a windows problem. Windows is working fine. Only happens when Ipad is connected. Actually, this first happened after I installed the new version of itunes. I reget installing the new itunes version, but don't know how to reinstall the previous itunes version.

  • Static Policy NAT in VPN conflicts with Static NAT

I have a situation where I need to create a site-to-site VPN between an ASA 5505 using IOS 7.2 and a Sonicwall NSA4500. The problem arises in that the LAN behind the Cisco ASA has the same subnet as a currently existing VPN created on the Sonicwall. Since the Sonicwall can't have two VPNs both going to the same subnet, the solution is to use policy NAT on the ASA so that to the Sonicwall, the new VPN appears to have a different subnet.
The current subnet behind the ASA is 192.168.10.0/24 (The Sonicwall already has a VPN created to a different client with that same subnet). I am trying to translate that to 192.168.24.0/24. The peer LAN (behind the Sonicwall) is 10.159.0.0/24. The pertinent configuration of the ASA is:
    interface Vlan1
    ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
    access-list outside_1_cryptomap extended permit ip 192.168.24.0 255.255.255.0 10.159.0.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list VPN extended permit ip 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 10.159.0.0 255.255.255.0
    static (inside,outside) 192.168.24.0 access-list VPN
    crypto map outside_map 1 match address outside_1_cryptomap
In addition to this, there are other static NAT statements and their associated ACLs that allow certain traffic through the firewall to the server, e.g.:
static (inside, outside) tcp interface smtp SERVER smtp netmask 255.255.255.255
The problem is this: When I enter the static policy NAT statement, I get the message "Warning: real-address conflict with existing static" and then it refers to each of the static NAT statements that translate the outside address to the server. I thought about this, and it seemed to me that the problem was that the policy NAT statement needed to be the first NAT statement (it is last) so that it would be handled first and all traffic destined for the VPN tunnel to the Sonicwall (destination 10.159.0.0/24) would be correctly handled. If I left it as the last statement, then the other static NAT statements would prevent some traffic destined for the 10.159.0.0/24 network from being correctly routed through the VPN.
So I tried first to move my policy NAT statement up in the ASDM GUI. However, moving that statement was not permitted. Then I tried deleting the five static NAT statements that point to the server (one example is above) and then recreating them, hoping that would then move the policy NAT statement to the top. This also failed.
    What am I missing?

    Hi,
To be honest it should work in the way I mentioned. I am not sure why it would change the order of the NAT configurations. I have run into this situation on some ASA firewalls running the older software (older than 8.2) and the reordering of the configurations has always worked.
So I am not sure are we looking at some bug or what the problem is.
I was wondering if one solution would be to configure all of the Static NAT / Static PAT as Static Policy NAT/PAT
I have gotten a bit rusty on the older (8.2 and older) NAT configuration format as over 90% of our customer firewalls are running 8.3+ software.
I was thinking of this kind of "static" configuration for the existing Static PAT configurations if you want to try
access-list STATICPAT-SMTP permit tcp host eq smtp any
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface smtp access-list STATICPAT-SMTP
access-list STATICPAT-HTTPS permit tcp host eq https any
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface https access-list STATICPAT-HTTPS
access-list STATICPAT-RDP permit tcp host eq 3389 any
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface 3389 access-list STATICPAT-RDP
access-list STATICPAT-TCP4125 permit tcp host eq 4125 any
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface 4125 access-list STATICPAT-TCP4125
access-list STATICPAT-POP3 permit tcp host eq pop3 any
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface pop3 access-list STATICPAT-POP3
Naturally you would add the Static Policy NAT for the VPN first.
Again I have to say that I am not 100% sure if this was is the correct format maybe you can test it with a single service that has a Static PAT. For example the Static PAT for RDP (TCP/3389). First entering the Static Policy NAT then removing the Static PAT and then entering the Static Policy PAT.
Remember that you should be able to test the translations with the "packet-tracer" command
    For example
    packet-tracer input outside tcp 1.1.1.1 12345

I have a user on an iMac 10.6 connected to our domain.  She uses Outlook web access for email on our exchange server.  Last week she received the following message which is randomly preventing her from sending emails.  She claims no attachment was involved in the original email when this all started.  I have not been able to look at her account as she is out of the office but maybe someone else dealt with this issue.  I realize this may not be Mac related but thought I'd give it a try.  She did say it occurred once over two days while working on a PC but it continued over the past weekend.
If an internal user tries to send a message with infected attachment using Outlook Web Access, it may report the following error message: The action could not be completed because of a conflict with the original item. The conflict may have occurred when an existing item was updated on another computer or device. Open the item again and try making your changes. If the problem continues, contact technical support for your organization.
This is because F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange has detected a virus in the attachment. If the user tries to send the message again, the message will be sent but without the attachment. At the same time a blank message with an attachment named "Attachment_information.txt" will remain in the user's Drafts folder. The "Attachment_information.txt" will contain information about the virus detected in the message.

PS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!!

  • How can I install an extension when it conflicts with an existing one that doesn't appear in the list of extensions?

I'm trying to install Guide Guide for Photoshop CS 2014 using the Adobe Extension Manager CC but when clicking on the 3.1.2-guideguide.zxp I recieve the following error, "This extension cannot be installed, since it conflicts with a existing one. To install this extension, please remove the extension 'GuideGuide' which has been installed in ", then install again."  Note that there is some code breaking in there where ", is.  When I open Adobe Extension Manager CC there are no extensions listed.  None under any of the products to the left.  I can't uninstall it if it's not listed.
After reviewing the forums I have gone into my %appdata%\Roaming\Adobe\ folder and removed all folders for previous versions of Adobe Extension Manager.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

Please delete "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB\ExMan.db" then retry. Note that "C:\ProgramData" is hidden by default. You can input C:\ProgramData in the address bar of Windows Explorer then press "Enter" key to go into this folder.

so i just set up my airport right next to my television setup (direct TV tivo), and now the tivo will not respond to the remote control... is there some kind of conflict going on there? well, obviously, duh... anyone else ever have this problem? any ideas for solving it? thanks in advance...

chalkyp, Welcome to the discussion area!
Typical TV remotes use infrared which shouldn't have any conflict with a wireless network.
Is it possible that your remote is an RF remote operating at 2.4 GHz? That could be affected by the wireless network.

    Photoshop CC

    Hi,
Have you ever uninstalled Photoshop CC and installed Photoshop CC 2014, or uninstalled Photoshop CC 2014 then installed Photoshop CC?
If that, please re-install you uninstalled Photoshop, and remove GuideGuide from Extension Manager before uninstall.
Another option is remove extension manager database file, then launch Extension Manager to install it.
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB\ExMan.db (Windows)
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Configuration/DB/ExMan.db (MAC)
But please notice that all your previously installed extensions will not be shown in Extension Manager after you removed database file.

  • During sync, msg about a conflict with an iCal event that doesn't exist

When syncing the iPhone to the MBP, I sometimes get a message that says there are conflicts with three iCal events. Two weird things about these events:
    1. There's no difference between the events being shown on the iPhone and the MBP. The details of the two so-called versions are identical.
    2. None of these events actually exist on my iPhone or MBP's iCal!
They look like events that I created and subsequently deleted... but somehow their ghosts are still haunting iCal somewhere -- though they don't show up in searches.
One thing they all have in common: these non-existent events are/were all recurring events.
Anyone have any ideas how I could delete these events? The only option I currently have is to choose the iPhone version or the MBP version (neither of which actually exists!).

I think the answer you need is this:
You need to tell the "Synch" which 'direction' to copy from - i.e. from .Mac to that computer or from that computer to .Mac.
If, on either computer, you click 'system preferences' ( in the dock) and then .Mac and then Advanced you will see a button to 'reset synch options' and tell the machine to send what it has to .Mac or recall what .Mac has back to the machine.
I have a simpler problem - I want to start a new topic in this forum and can't find a button to do that!
