hola, soy nuevo en este foro, y agradeceria que me dieran informacion de como liberar iphone 5 de orange.
orange me dice que ya esta liberado, pero conecto a itunes con otra sim y el telefono pone sin servicio.

Solamente puedes liberar el iPhone legalmente a través de Orange que fue quien subvencionó el coste original del movil. Orange es el único que puede dar instrucciones a Apple para que a través de iTunes puedas liberar el iPhone y usarlo con Movistar. Si no has tenido nunca contrato con Orange es posible que no te lo quieran liberar pero si la persona que te lo regaló si tenía contrato, quizá esa persona pueda conseguirte la liberación.

I'm now in Hong Kong and I have no network service.
All network i try to connect to from the list says:
Network Lost. Your selected cellular network is no longer available. you can choose different network in Setting.
But i tried them all and it says the same.
I had other phones with Orange and always worked when I was in HK.
A colleague has IPhone 3 with Vodafone UK and works fine!
Can anyone help?

My roaming was already set up, i did use my phone abroad recently.
I now finally got to speak to orange cust service and they have no clue.
Of course the operator say it's a phone problem and I have to contact IPhone cust service or find someone with Iphone and Orange to try my sim their phone...
Sounds a bit hard.. I don't know many people in HK!!
Any idea?

Unfortunately, whether you can use 4G or not, is solely the responsibility of your phone company/carrier and you need to contact them about this. Have you got a 4G sim card in your phone and perhaps you need the carrier update before you can use it. You need to check all this out with your carrier, so nobody here can really help you.

I am trying to unlock my iphone from Orange to "3".

I have requested the neccessary details from Orange. And paid for it.
I have followed the instructions but the phone will NOT activate either by phone itself or iTunes.
I have tried it with an Orange card in and also a 3 card.
Its pathetic that something is made so difficult to do.
I need help with this as it is driving me mad.
I have also looked all over the internet and this is a very common probem

Did you follow the steps exactly in the email you got from Orange
to unlock the iPhone? At the end of those steps, did iTunes give you
the message 'Congratulations. Your iPhone is now unlocked''?
If you did not get that message, your iPhone is still locked and only
Orange can resolve the matter.
If you did get that message before the update, repeat all the steps again
to see if it will unlock now - you may have to do this multiple times for
it to work.
What does it say when you look at Settings=?General=>About=>Carrier?

Below is my problem:

I am at a lost end.
I purchased an iphone locally.
I have had an orange account for over 2 years.
I rang up last friday to unlock my new phone to any network which they said was going through fine.
I then to be on the safe side filled out the online form also for this.
I received an email confirming this had been done and i will receive confirmation within 20 days.
Yesterday i received a text as below:
"Sorry, we can t complete the request to unlock your phone as the imei provided is not paired to this mobile number"
I called up again today to query this. I was told by customer services that they could not unlock the phone as i was not the original owner.
I asked what happens if the original owner was dead? Was told the phone would not be able to be unlocked.
I then asked what should i do? I was told to get the phone jailbroken!!!
I could not beleive this so asked for customer complaints and was told that orange a massive company do not have customer complaints.
I have then tried ringing back since and have been hung up on twice.
I am at my wits end with this shambles of a company and do not know what else i can do?
Can anyone help??

There's nothing Apple can do. Unlocking is completely up to the cell carrier, and many will not unlock for someone who is not and has never been their customer. The carriers have absolutely no incentive to unlock a phone, so they often make policies as restrictive as they can get away with. In many cases, the only way this changes is due to government pressure or even legislation.
Sorry, but again, if Orange won't unlock for you, return or sell the iPhone.

IPhone 4 (Orange UK)

Well, I've made a mistake of buying a 3gs from Orange on May 2th. On a side note... Orange doesn't have any return policy!
After using the Orange website, it's acknowledged that I'm not eligible to upgrade, obviously. But it's mentioned that I can buy an additional phone (iPhone 4) to my existing contract if I don't want to wait. The issue is that... I'm just wondering how would that work...
Or is there any other alternative?

Wrong Orange WILL SELL you a new phone however it will be FULL PRICE unsubsidised and the same price you would pay for a lost/damaged and uninsured replacement.
Currently that works out at the Pay as You Go price PLUS penalty or your BUY OUT YOUR CONTRACT and thats going to be VERY EXPENSIVE either way expect something north of £600.00.
Your best option would be to load onto your 3GS ios4 in a fortnights time and hold onto to it at least to the autumn and get some more of your contract paid back.
At the three month period Orange WILL unlock your 3GS for a fee of £20.00 and you can consider Ebaying it as an officially network unlocked iphone for several hundreds .
Do some calcs and you MAY be able to afford a Pay As YOU Go unit.
Trim you current sim and activate using your current account , storing the new sim in a draw , or using with an iPad 3G perhaps ?

Only the cell carrier to whom the phone is locked can authorize unlocking. You will need to contact Orange in the UK and ask if you qualify for unlocking and if so what the procedure will be.

IPhone 3G (Orange PAYG) and BT Home Hub

Is there any way I can make calls on my iPhone 3G via my BT Home Hub wi-fi signal (strong) avoiding my Pay-As-You-Go Orange SIM (poor reception)?
For instance, this evening I couldn't send a text message (no Orange reception) but the wi-fi signal from the hub was 100% OK.
It would also save me some money if I could divert the SIM calls to free wi-fi in the home.

The iPhone won't work as a BT HomeHub handset but you can achieve much the same result if you download an app like Skype. You will then be able to run it on your iPhone (as well as on your computer) over your wi-fi connection, get free calls to other Skype users and cheaper calls to other landlines if you buy credit.
