Libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work

Hello,
when starting cjackctl or any jack-dependant application i'm getting this error :
libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work
i have 32bit gcc libs installed from multilib due to wine dependencies, but i think jack is also 32bit anyway.wine is working with sound.
i am on 64bit system.
thanks.

Hey Stythys did you ever get this fixed. I am having the same issue and I can't seem to figure out what it may be.
I have removed/purged gcc and the and build-essentials but to no avail.
btw, I have ubuntu, it's just that this is the first place I can find that someone else is having the same issue as me.

  • Does quicktime need to be installed for Encore to work

I have resisted installing quicktime, but today did finally attempt to download and install it. I haven't been successful so far for one reason or another, (it says thank you for downloading Quicktime, but a search of my computer doesn't show it anywhere)  and want to know -- Is it necessary to have Quicktime installed in order to use Encore CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5? Is there something that doesn't function if it isn't there?

Thanks for the information. I have a couple follow up questions. I am using AVCHD video. When I export from Premiere Pro CS.5.5, I export to media. The summary section of the export window that opens up shows my source as 1920x1080. If I export it as AVI, that of course will go out as 720X480. I will then be bringing it back into Encore later to create my DVD. If I select the "Match Sequence settings" option, my output will, of course, be 1920X1080. This will create a MOV file to be brought into Encore, and as you have told me, will require the need to install Quicktime on my machine. I have a PC versus a Mac. From what I've been told, my final DVD authored in Encore, will be 720X480 pretty much no matter what settings I use to export it from Premiere Pro. Still, It seems logical that I should end up with a sharper image on my final DVD if I bring a 1920X1080 video file into encore to work with, versus bringing in a 720X480 file. First of all, am I correct in that assumption? Naturally I'm trying to get the best quality image I can with a 1 hour video file on a single side DVD.

  • Must run twice for daq to work

I have an application I am working on that is giving some minor problems.  When I first boot up the computer, it doesn't seem the DAQ is working at initial startup.  I am using a Daqpad 6016 (I think that is the model, it is the USB daq) and have some digital outs that should turn on some units under test whent he program first runs.  It doesn't turn them on.  If I stop the program, and restart it, it works fine, it just doesn't work on the initial startup.  After that, it works again, until I reboot the computer, than I have to go through that again.

Unfortunately, I don't have the code on this computer, so I can't do that right now, although I'm not sure what screen capture to send, as it is a pretty large project.  Let me try to describe further what my program does.
When started, it pops up a couple of boxes for user input, basically setting up the test (each box is its own sub vi, and no data aquistion is involved).  From there, it moves on to another sub vi which powers up my units that will be tested with the software.  That vi (at least to this point) only contains a DAQmx write to a digital channel (setting to true) which turns on a relay supplying power to my UUTs.  At that point, none of the UUTs turn on (and the digital line never goes high either).  If I stop the program, and restart it from there, it works fine.
All that said, when you talk about initializing the DAQ, I wasn't aware there was anything to initialize.  All I am doing is using a DAQmx write with a task created in the Measurement Explorer (or whatever its called).

  • Must Choose destination for droplet to work

I have a preset destination for my droplets, however they will not actually process the files unless I manually click the "choose" button for the destination field.
Otherwise, it acts like it's sending the files but it will never appear in the batch monitor - or actually process.
If I choose destination (it doesn't have to be a different destination) then it will actually process.
Any ideas on how to fix this so the preset destination works?

Every time I load firefox I get the message that firebug needs to be installed for pagespeed to work correctly.

I have the exact same problem! With just one website. It's when I have a second account on it. I can sign in with my original (old) account, but not with my new account that I wish to sign in on. I've talked to a lot of people members of the website who have second accounts and this doesn't happen with them, it's only with my firefox. • Screen: Cannot find terminfo entry for 'rxvt-unicode', works in root

I'm using screen (http://www.archlinux.org/packages/14519/) and it works fine under root, but it keeps saying it can't find the terminfo entry for anything when I'm under a different user ('linux', 'xterm', 'rxvt-unicode'). First I tried setting URxvt*termName: rxvt (xterm as well), then I tried copying screenrc from /etc/ and /etc/skel/ to my home directory as .screenrc, and finally I tried compiling from source as another user. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

phrakture wrote:Are you ssh'ing to another machine?
Nope, I've installed arch on my laptop.
This error typically happens when you ssh to a machine that does NOT have the terminfo installed.
I don't know if terminfo is the correct name of the package, but pacman -Qs *term* or *info* or terminfo didn't show anything.
Could you possibly post your screenrc, just so I can check?
This is the config I've copied from /etc/skel/ to ~/, if I type nano .screenrc after logging in this is what I'll see.
Edit: I forgot to say that screen produces the same results in xterm.

  • Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User

    Hi, everybody
I'm just starting our attempt to put together ZfD app packages for MS Office 2007. I've tried 2 different route with poor results for each. I'm looking for guidance and suggestions and, hey really, the simple final solution. :)
Objectives: Each app package will install locally one of the Office apps (e.g., Word) if it is not installed and then launch it, otherwise it will launch it. It gets installed locally to the C: drive using all the MS default choices, but runs from the desktop ZEN/NAL shortcut. All desktops are XP, not Vista or W7.
    Routes tried and failed...
    1) Simple app, uses distribution and run scripts to figure out if already installed, then installs using network shared drive and config.xml file for just the one app. The result ought to work -- no particular error in the package, those are fixed -- but what happens is something different each time with the MS setup.exe, and it never does complete without its own error (various and different each time). So, this appears to be completely unreliable because launching MS's setup.exe from a simple app is unpredictable and incomplete.
    2) Snapshot of a successful setup.exe and config.xml install. This ALMOST works... well it does in fact work but the snapshotted app gives an error once it finishes launching -- "Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User" -- and exits. From the research I've done on this message, the MS program sees the "wrong" Windows profile on the destination environment, compared to that in the snapshot, and figures it's now been installed from a bootleg copy of Office 2007.
At this stage all I can think of is expletives. We've paid for everything, I've followed all the usual and customary steps, played by the rules, been polite (and also used the necessary computer swear words), and now I just want to insult everyone in Microsoft's marketing department for ruining everyone's life yet again. Can't we just do this, is it too much to ask!?!
Please help me. What is really going to work for distributing and maintaining Office 2007 apps using our ZfD environment? ALL USEFUL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME. Thank you. Bless you.

These questions are really best in the Microsoft Office Forums.
These are MS Office Questions not ZEN Questions.
Novell did not design Microsoft's Office Install.
I have nothing against snapshots, but it does not work great with the Office
installs, which you yourself know since you are posting here with problems
    based on that.
And your other method you are trying with the break out is not working well.
We also know that from experience.
We can tell you that the way most people install it and the way most people
succeed doing it, is by doing it the way recommended and designed by
    Microsoft.
    ZEN does that just fine.

  • Install for load

    Hello,
I work with GemXpresso pro R3 and I want to upload my applet on the card.
I begin to write a script but I have a problem with the install for load command.
According to the gp specifications, the data field must contain the appplet aid length, the applet aid, the security domain aid length and the security domain aid.
Is it right or anything more?

If we are reading on the same spec, then you would have seen this,
Mandatory 1 Length of Load File AID
    Mandatory 5-16 Load File AID
Mandatory 1 Length of Security Domain AID
    Conditional 0-16 Security Domain AID
Mandatory 1 Length of Load File Data Block Hash
Conditional 0-n Load File Data Block Hash
Mandatory 1 Length of Load Parameters field

I downloaded Mavericks and it won't install. I did re-set my password and when I click on Install for Mavericks, I still get a box for "administrator password" and it still won't accept my new password. Is there a difference between my Apple ID and the administrator password they're asking for? I never had an administrator password-- I just hit enter and have never had a problem before with previous installations. I'm on an iMac, from 2007, running Mt. Lion (version 10.8.5). I've been looking for other's posts who may be having the same problem, but haven't found any. Can anyone help?

Ugh. The 'no password, no work' thing is a recent Apple development. I ran into it on my system and ended up having to do a clean install on a partition I fully erased.
I suppose, if you have the ability to, go online and look up how to burn a bootable DVD image. Download the 10.8.4 image then use the Disk Utility to make a boot image of it. You'll need a dual-layer DVD or a USB drive (or memory stick at least 8GB) If you've got an optical drive, burn the disk, if you've a USB device, use that.
Then get a pocket drive and copy your important files off the system or let Time Machine do a full backup.
When the backup is done, insert the disk and hold down the C key until the machine boots off of the DVD. At the point you get to the start window, go to the menu and choose the Disk Utility.
In the Disk Utility, reformat the drive. You go to the actual DRIVE (not the Macintosh HD, but the root above it that is the actual hard drive device)
I always do this and *partition* it into several volumes, the benefit being, you can store all of your music, documents and importans stuff on that secondary storage volume you make - it will have it's own index and then the first volume is where you put the OS and it will have it's own index as well. That way, if the OS throws a wobbler and you need to reinstall, you don't lose your data.
Depending on the size of your hard drive, it is good to give your OS partition at least 60GB and optimally 100GB, and the rest for storage.
Name your volumes, use the little box sliders to manually size them or put that number in the size window, select for the format, Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and hit Apply and then the Disk Utility will quickly create your new partitions.
Once finished, quit the Utility and it will return you to the OS installer. Select the volume you want to install to and it should start up and install.
Once the installation is done, you'll get the new machine startup then you MUST put in a password for the computer. Once you're in, and to the desktop, don't bother with any Mountain Lion updates, go right to the App Store and get the Mavericks update and let it install the app to your Applicaitons folder, then do that install.
On a side note, there MAY be a way to make a disk image from the Mavericks application and avoid the entire Mountain Lion step.. I honestly do not know, but a bit of hitting the search engines may find out if there is. I think that if you looked for "make Mavericks boot disk or boot image' you may find something.
    Good luck!

  • Program installed for only one user

Have a program that is installed for only one user, how can I get another user access to the software? don't have install disk.
    Thanks

Select the application's icon then Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Ownership and Sharing section check the owner and group assignments. If they have owner=you and group=you or staff, then you must change those. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder and enter the following command line at the prompt:
    sudo chown -R root:admin
Put a space after "admin' then drag the application's icon into the Terminal window and press RETURN. You will be prompted for your admin password which will not be echoed.
This should enable other users to access the application provided you have given the user access via their managed account preferences in Accounts preferences.

  • Clean install for the 1st time from Macbook late 2008

    Hi all!
I'm doing a clean install for the first time before installing Maverick. I have a Macbook from late 2008, which came  with Leopard, but I always  did an upgrade whenever installing Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion.
My question is when I do the clean install, the laptop goes back to factory settings, right? Do I need to install all the operating systems or can I go straight to Maverick?
I'mthinking of creating a bootable usb drive with Maverick or should I just install it from the Apple store?
It's my first time erasing the hard drive, I don't want to damage anything, just trying to be extra careful.
Thank you in advance for the help

The hard drive is wiped clean, but the hardware is the same. There is no "factory settings" until you actually install an operating system. In your case it will be Mavericks. Your laptop did not come this way from the factory.
To return to true factory conditions you have to install the OS that came with your computer. I know this seems like nitpicking, but it's better to have the facts straight.
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
    1.  After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
    2.   Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
             a. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
              b. After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
              c. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
              d. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
              e. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
              f. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
    3.          Use Lion DiskMaker 3.0 or DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
    sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.
