Libraries for star office excel

Hi to all,
I'm using the jxl.jar library to produce reports in Microsoft Excel format. Now, we need to migrate the systems to StarOffice and the reports I'm producing are not completly compatibles with this suite. For example, the macros don't work. Is there a library like jxl that produce files totally compatibles with star office?
Thanks for all the help.

SO8 has shifted from the CorrectSpell Dictionaries to those of Proximity Franklin. As far as I can tell they are included in the SO8 download, unlike SO7 for which they were an additional download.
The downloads I have tried the SO8beta and Education/Researcher do not have the Greek. The PF site indicates that the Greek spell check dictionary does exist. Hopefully SO8 will (or does have, and I have not seen it) have the entire PF line. In the interim you can use the MySpell Greek dictionary. Since SO8 is based on OpenOffice 2.0, it can use the OOo dictionaries.

  • Empty Presentation Catalog using Oracle BI for Microsoft Office (Excel, PP)

    Hi everyone,
after installed Oracle Business Intelligence for Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and configured according to this I only see an empty Presentation Catalog when I log on Excel or PowerPoint.
I've already see this thread and nothing seems to solve the problem.
    Any ideas?

    Hi John,
when I test my connection of Oracle BI for Office it says "Test connection successful", so I suppose there's no problem with connection or port.

  • Ports in SAP BPC for MS Office (Excel, Word or PowerPoint).

    Hello to all,
I'm trying to find what ports do I have to open to my firewall to let the customer in to the SAP BPC from the MS Office (Excel, Word or PowerPoint).
I've tried to find it, but I didn't fiond anything in the manuals.
    Please I need help.
    Thank you in advance.
    Pablo Mortera.

You really need to go through the Master & Installation guide as Alwin pointed out. This guide will easily answer questions like this as well as the other question you have posted lately.
    From the guide;
If your Application, Web, or Reporting Services server components will be
accessed through a firewall, you should verify with your network
administrator which TCP ports to choose during the installation of
OutlookSoft. By default, port 80 is the setting for standard http access,
and port 443 is the setting for https access. If you require a service to
listen on a different port, you can specify it during the installation program
in u2018Advanced Settings.u2019 See Standard and Advanced settings on page 18.
u2022 Make sure all required server ports are open, and there is communication
between the physical servers on which you are going to install the server
    components.
All required ports must be opened for inbound/outbound traffic. By default,
OutlookSoft requires that Ports 80 (used by http) and 1443 (used by SQL
    2000/2005), 2725 (used by OLAP 2000) and 2383 (used by OLAP 2005)
are open. For information on the required ports, see Server Manager Help.

  • Hi, so I want to get Microsoft Office on my Macbook Pro, and I think I found it on the app store. The app is templates for Microsoft Office is that the same thing. Will I get Word, Excel, and Powerpoint on my laptop if I buy and download that app?

If I buy the templates for Microsoft Office on the app store, I will get Word, Excel, and Powerpoint right?

Templates are just that, not the software itself.  You need to contact MicroSoft online to purchase, or buy a DVD to install from...be sure to get MS Office 2011 to install with Lion or Mountain Lion, older versions than 2008 will not work.

  • BEx Analyzer Report error - microsoft office excel is waiting for another

    Hi,
I am running a query from BEx Analyzer, it is throwing the error as " microsoft office excel is waiting for another application to complete an ole action "
Here in variable screen, I am trying to give input for the variables, then it is throwing the above error message.

The error message you are receiving means that an Excel macro is waiting for another macro to finish in order to proceed. It is an informational message so you understand why the system is slower than expected.
The solution is on the Microsoft side, see BOJ Note 1201513.
From the MSDN link below, you will see a description of the Display
    Alerts Property:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa194195(office.10).aspx
    DisplayAlerts Property
wdAlertsNone No alerts or message boxes are displayed. If a macro encounters a message box, the default value is chosen and the macro continues.
The Note suggests changing the "Application.DisplayAlerts = False" to "Application.DisplayAlerts = wdAlertsNone"

  • How can I download Microsoft office excel  for my MacBook Pro Mac OSX version for free. Please help me!

How can I download Microsoft office excel for my MacBook Pro  for free?

You can't. Excel is a commercial product sold by Microsoft in an Office "package" and not as a stand-alone product.
If you need to be able to open and save Excel documents on your Mac, however, you could try the free LibreOffice.

  • The content type for office excel 2007 in jsp page and the mime-type in  we

    Hi,
In my system MS Office 2007 is installed. I am trying to generating excel sheets from JSP page by setting the content type "application/vnd.ms-excel" in jsp page and as well as in web.xml file. I am getting the below message
The file you are trying to open, 'xxxxxxxx.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?
Then finally the excel file is opening and displaying properly. If in my system MS Office 2003 is installed , then the above message is not coming.
I have changed the content type according to Excel 2007 <%@ page contentType= "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet" %> and in web.xml file the mime type to
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>xlsx</extension>
    <mime-type>application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
even the content type is changed according to office excel 2007 , i am getting the same above message.
My client is asking not to display the above message. So how to prevent that message ?
It's very great if any body reply me as soon as possible.

  • Wot, no trial version of Star Office?

As a newbie to Linux computing I know I get OpenOffice as a free application but if I need to import documents from my office that have been created in MS Office it is not a smooth process. This made me consider Star Office, but, there doesn't appear to be a free trial version to tempt me and I'm not one for going down the road of 'Buy now and get your money back if you're not satisfied'. I don't mind limited trial periods ... this should at least give me time to test the application and then, if I feel happy with it, I will buy!!
So what have you to offer here?

supplied with the Linux distros. To which version do you refer? I have version 2.2

What I can say is that the function in Star Office is
99% the same as in Open Office - the reason for no
'try before you buy' is that you have OpenOffice
available to try for free. What are the main differences between OpenOffice and Star Office and how do they compare with Microsoft Office 2003?

I notice you said that you need to import documents,
what are you trying to open - is it just word and
excel files? If so you can just do "File, Open" and
this should open your old MS file without a problem.I also use Micrsoft Access

  • Evaluation of Star Office

We have been trying out Star Office evaluatedby within a MS centric Company. They would like to go migrate from MS Office.
We asked a few Power Users users try it and provide their Comments:
This is what their Response was.
    Advantages:
    1. Extra options to do custom filter the auto filter command.
    2. Additional features in formatting like changing upper case into lower case or visa versa.
    3. Innovative formating options are available.
    4. The options for customizing the tool bar icons are more. Needs more time to test this.
    5. A superb utility for converting the whole excel as a pdf file.
    Limitations:
    1. Some bug in the auto filter command.
    2. Help details are a bit amateurish.
    3. Very slow in executing commands if the data source is large.
Meanwhile none of the other programs works.
    4. Not suitable for working with Pivot Table . System literally
    hangs and program not responding.
    5. Advanced formula commads are crude and not user friendly.
    6. Bugs in advanced mathematical commands.
    7. If multiple filters are invoked , its automatically changing
the data into data pilot {pivot table}.
    8. Its not able to recognise more than two auto filters.
    9. Tracking formulae errors are in crude shape, since all the link arrows are in the same colour.
    10. Similarly while linking formulae, links are not mapped and only the latest link is being shown.
    11. "Enter Key" has only one application.
    12. Trail of cut/copy command is not visible till the resultant command is evoked.
    13. When a worksheet is protected, the whole sheet is greyed ,
    resulting in poor visibility.
    Suggestion:
I think they are in the initial stages of development. Hence lets wait for an year or two for an improved version.
    Please give your valued comments.

  • Error in Plugin Installation For MS Office 2013 on Windows 8 and 8.1

    Hello,
We have developed an installer for MS Word and MS Excel plugins. So far it has been working fine for MS Office 2003, 2007 etc. but since I have upgraded to a Windows 8.1 machine with MS Office 2013 installed, the plugin installation is giving error.
The installation fails and an error dialog appears with Error Code Type: Error, Error:1, Owner:30a.
The installer works well for MS Office 2010 on Windows 8/ 8.1 machine or MS Office 2010 on Windows 7 machine.

    HiDinesh,
Is there any other error message when installation fails?
According to this error message “Error Code Type: Error, Error:1, Owner:30a.”
This is problem conclusion provided by IBM:
This issue is no longer reproducible in V6R2012x.
Installation checks have been modified to throw an error only when none of the Office applications
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) are installed. This error will not occur if one or more of the Office products are installed.

  • Add Report Generation toolkit for Microsoft Office in exe

    Hi
I am having a problem. I am using LabVIEW 8.20, Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office 1.1.2 and Microsoft Excel 2003. My OS is Windows XP (SP )
I want to build the vi attached below into an exe. The vis that I used are from addons>>_office>>excel.llb. I follow the suggestion found in the link below and add in all the files in excel.llb into my project so that it can be added into the executable as dynamic vis. However, some vis in excel.llb cannot be added into my project. After I have add all vis that can be added into the project, I build an application (exe) with the vi below as the Main vi and all other added vis (from excel.llb) as dynamic vis. After that, I build and run this exe on the same PC. I am unable to run it.
This vi will save datas when I click on the stop button. After I click on the stop button, a window will pop-up and prompt me to select which directory to save the vi. When I run the exe, I type in test.xls (for example) but the file saved is a picture and not an excel file. If I just run the vi instead of the exe, Excel will open and datas and graph will be displayed in Excel.
May I know where did I done wrong??
How do I use the Report Generation Toolkit in an executable with Microsoft Excel?

    Hi centerbolt,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried adding in just that dynamic vi found in Excel Library and my main vi but it still cannot work. Is there anything that I need to look out as well?? [View attached picture.]

  • How can I distribute an application using Reprot generation Toolkit for MS Office for different versions of MS Office?

I want to create an application which uses the Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office. The office version of the target machine depends on what my customer has installed.
From several discussions I have seen that the installer detects which version I have on my development machine. I'm not able to hold three or four machines with different versions (97,2000,2002,XP).
I decided to do the following software architecture:
I create a LLB MakeReport.llb with a VI called MakeReport.vi. With VI server I will start MakeReport.vi in MakeReport.llb. Over a named queue I will send a command from my application to MakeReport.vi. Then the report will be
    printed.
I will create this LLB by saving MakeReport.vi with File>>Save with options...>>Application distribution. All neccessary VIs will be in the LLB.
I will hold different directories for each version. I can create different version of the LLB. During installation of my application the LLB for the right version will be copied from the CD to the application folder.
I know I will be restricted in testing my report in only one version and hoping it will be good in the other versions.
I think that the difference lays only in the word and excel related llbs.
    1. Will my software architecture work or is it obviously wrong?
    2. How will I get all versions from the toolkit CD?
    3. Which is the registry key I must read to get the right version (a minor question, if somebody knows I do not need to search for myself).

    Using 7.1.1, 8.5.1, 8.6.1, 2009 on XP and RT
Don't forget to give Kudos to good answers and/or questions

Lookout saves the files in .csv form which can be opened in Excel. I did make some progress by using the "append table to report" vi which allowed me to put values into an array and then those values were entered into my template on my report vi.
Where I am stuck now is I want to be able to put values into my template from a .csv file, not from an array I have to manually put numbers in.
Once those values are in my template I want to pull summed values from the template and place them into a final excel file for printing.
I have attached examples of the files I am working with to help you better understand what I am trying to do.
    I hope that makes sense.
