Libraries freezing in CC 2014
I have been using the libraries palette with great success, until I had more than one library created that was trying to sync up.
There are multiple projects that I am managing, that have unique library items that are used across designs.
Now that I have two, whenever I try to select one of them from the dropdown (switching projects essentially), the library items load, but then freeze the entire tool.
Anyone have this problem, or recommend a solution?

10.9.5 – with the most recent Photoshop CC 2014.
Yea. It took almost an hour of Adobe remotely connecting to my machine, and finally manually going in to my library temp files for the libraries and deleting them to fix this glitch.

Using Text Tool Freezes Photoshop CC 2014.2 x64 release
I have just updated Photoshop CC to 2014.2.0 -- 20140926.r.236 x64 release. Now I am experiencing an issue when I use the text tool to just type a few words on a new document or layer. The application seems to freeze up as soon as I start typing? I wait several minutes with nothing happening and have to resort to using the Windows task manger to kill the photoshop processes. This did not happen before I updated to this release?? Please advise how to fix this if possible to [email protected].

Is there a way to permanently save color libraries in Illustrator CC 2014 so that every time you launch the software, the colors appear in Swatch palette?
Modify the New Document Profile you use the most to reflect what you want it to contain or just make a new document with all the stuff and save it with a distinct name to the New Document Profiles folder in your user profile.

Upload to a ftp host freezes muse CC (2014)
I opened my website that I created with muse cc in Muse CC (2014)
I went to upload it to my webhosting server and Muse CC (2014) froze and stopped working.
It would connect to the ftp server, but that all, not sure whether or not it an issue with the hosting server or with Muse CC (2014).
It uploads fine to business.catalyst, however the browser shows title smaller than the actually size, when previewed.
Can anyone offer any suggestions to fix this issue.
I have two hosted accounts, one with a domain name, and the other hasnt. Before the update to Muse CC (2014) the upload to ftp host work fine, with no issues.
Now I can connect to the ftp servers, they reach about 63% upload completion then it freezes and hangs on both webhosting accounts.

I have tried to several times I get different results.
It will either hang on uploading files, or connecting to ftp server.
I tried to upload to ftp host, using all files, but it hang at 64% completion when uploading a image called blank.gif. Had a look at my directory and I noticed that there are two muse files there. Would that be a cause the issue.
Message was edited by: Trevor DawkinsI had cancelled my hosting account and created a new account with freehostingnoads.com. I set up my domain name to that account as well. Does it matter what system the hosting server is on. I am using windows OS, and the hosting server is a linux OS.
I am still having alot of trouble getting Muse CC (2014) to connect to the ftp server, with the new webhosting account. Is there a way to revert my site back to Muse CC. As I am not that empressed with Muse CC (2014) due to the uploading to ftp host functionality no longer functions like in Muse CC.
Also on a side note, I have launched my site on BC, however the Main Title on the Master Pages is not displaying the way it should. My title is 418x102 pixels, in size, however BC displays it in the web browser as much smaller. BC stand for Business Catalyst.
I was expecting big things from Muse CC (2014) after watching youtube videos that show how great the program is, but they all used Macs, and not Windows.
I would really appreciate it if someone could assist me in resolving this issue please. -
Adobe Brush isn't updating to Libraries in PS CC 2014
I've created several brushes in Adobe Brush but they are not syncing to my Library in PS CC 2014. The Creative Cloud icon at the top right of the Brush interface is showing with a checkmark and the bottom right of the Libraries panel in PS CC 2014 shows "all libraries are up to date". I've used Adobe CC Shape during the same time period and those shapes are syncing and showing up in my Libraries in CC. Something seems amiss with Brush.
I was having a similar problem. I finally created a new library and moved the brushes that weren't syncing into it. That got them into Photoshop for me.

BlackliningCS4.sdk.InDesignPlugin freezes Indesign CC 2014
I need to open an Indesign document which uses the "BlackliningCS4.sdk.InDesignPlugin" which I don't have.
Usually I just click, "Ok" when the "Missing Plug-ins " box alerts me to this and the documents open.
This one starts to open and then the Indesign progress bar freezes. It requires a force quit.
I checked the text file that came with the doc and disable the fonts used in it before trying to open it. Still no luck.
Any ideas on how I get this to open? It's only a 1.7MB file.It's a document received, not something I exported. I tried the java script referenced in the link but still no luck. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Actually, it opened in Indesign CS5.5 and I "outlined" the single problem page and recreated it from the CS5.5 IDML saved file in CC 2014...
So I found a sort of workaround but opening directly in CC 2014, still not an option. -
Photoshop Element 12 is freezing (December 30 2014)
I was using the product almost the whole day (yesterday). I left the computer for a couple of hours and returned to find that I could no longer load the program. I have been trying to get my creativity juices flowing. I will probably get the latest version in the new year, but in the meantime, I would love to figure out why it stopped working.
Try resetting the editor and organizer preferences files. they are located at various places depending on your operating system. See this article:

The files have extensions psp and you need to rename them. For example:
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Prefs.psp" to be renamed to: "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Prefs.old"
Also, if you have the serial number for your PSE 12, then you can download the trial version and activate it again using that serial number to convert it into full version.

Blur Tool Problem - Random Lines (Adobe CC 2014.2.1 Release)
Hi,
I'm hoping that I haven't ticked some obscure option, but I have been using the Blur Tool in Photoshop CC for a while and after the most recent update have had issues with it - basically, when I try to use it to blur a specific area, it randomly goes all over the place (as if I'd grabbed the mouse and moved it rapidly in a random direction). Obviously if I can't use the blur tool with precision (well, any tool really!) it makes it hard to work!
Some interesting notes / observations:
The sharpen tool works perfectly - only sharpens where I point it, which makes me think that it's not an issue with my mouse. No other tools I use have the issue either - only the blur tool!!
I have no other pointing devices plugged in (I had a pen tablet plugged in - long story, prefer the mouse over the tablet :-)) so it's not some other pointing device making noise.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks - blurring and then going into the layer to delete the random lines of blur is getting tiresome - and it's not very precise either.

I have recently had to wipe clean my system, and reinstall everything. Before doing so, I transferred what I thought were ALL of my files, only to realize I had “forgotten” my iPhoto library.
After re-establishing everything, I realized all of my photos were gone. I was able to retrieve photos from an old computer, and load them into iPhoto.They are my photos up to 2007.
I had been using Carbon Copy Cloner for backing up, but have never used it to Restore anything. I copied some information from CCC to iPhoto, and when I open iPhoto, it shows Libraries for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. They have check marks next to them , but no photos.
I saved the CCC archives, and the most comprehensive folder I see is Pictures/iPhoto Library dec 2013/Database/apdb/etc., etc..
That folder contains BigBlobs_apdb-journal, Faces.db_journel, History.apdb_journel, ImageProxies.apdb_journel, Library.apdb_journel, Properties.apdb_journel.
There is also a folder Faces/FaceNames with a couple file in it.
As you see I am totally ignorant about the structure of iPhoto. I’m still of the old school where you copied and pasted files . Obviously that’s not how iPhoto works.
Can anyone suggest if any of the information I still have can be useful in recapturing my lost photos. I only have one other Folder in my CCC archive with anything related to iPhoto. This was the most comprehensive.

I think I was only cloning whatever changes occurred from one event to another. Since I really didn't open iPhoto very often, I only have a few incidental alterations. I am looking at things now, and don't really think I have any iPhoto libraries. The photos I have from earlier than 2007 were ones I retrieved off an older computer. I made some really hasty decisions, eliminated much of what was on my computer and backup before rationally thinking about it; and I think I've just lost everything. The CCC archive I have is something I moved from this computer to my laptop.
I don't, can't find anything in this CCC archive that is an iPhoto library in the Home/Pictures folder. It's only the partial files I listed in my post.I've tried coping them to my Pictures folder. There is something in that data that allows iPhoto to show libraries 2012. 2013, 2014; but with nothing in them.
I think I just messed up earlier, but again thanks to all for the assistance. -
For the last few weeks, Avast Firewall freezes Photoshop CC 2014 and Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 (and probably others, I have not tested them all) for about 50-60 seconds each time they load. If I disable the Avast firewall, they load and are accessible right away. But I cannot find any settings in Photoshop or on the web for ways to allow the Adobe CC 2014 programs through the firewall. Can anyone help? I have my network set as 'Private' and 'Friend' enabled and have the Windows firewall off. I'm using Avast Premium.
Thanks, but I've tried that, with the entire Adobe directory. It is definitely a Firewall issue, I can leave the rest of the shields on and it works fine.
So what I eventually found were the firewall rules in Avast. There are many auto-created rules that allow things through, but they weren't letting these apps make the contact they needed to run. Avast has a setting that allows you to let it 'auto-decide' on the access for any apps where the rules don't allow some type of communication. It works for the most part, but I changed all of the Adobe apps to 'ask me' (some 70 or so entries!). Then when opening Photoshop, it asked for permission for several services including dynamiclinkmanager and qt32server. And the same happened for Media Encoder and Premiere Pro, except they each asked for access for their own self-named host program as well. Now they open without issue. So I'll leave this here for others who may run into this.
As a side note, I saw the system trying to use port 2869 in the firewall logs and added an exception for it, but that didn't help. But the above solved it, at least for now. -
Access to Cisco Switch Modbus Register Map? via Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU
Hello Folks, I have been trying to find out how to access the Modbus Register Map(s) of Cisco switches, of particular interest is that of an IE 3000 as it is din rail mountable (but for models 2960s, 3560s are also of interest). A google search for: Cisco Switch Modbus TCP results in (if I may) how to configure a Cisco 2520 to do what I am trying to do. I would be very grateful for any hints anybody might have. Thanks
Though I am not familiar with the specific drives in question, I have used Modbus/TCP in LabVIEW a few times recently.
As the previous posters pointed out, there are a couple of VI libraries available. LabVIEW 2014 added Modbus VI's with the DSC and LabVIEW Real-Time. The others you would have to get and add in yourself.
Another option is to use LabVIEW I/O Servers; as long as you have DSC or Real-Time, you can create Modbus I/O Servers as library items and deploy to a target. You don't get as much direct control in this way (and may run into difficulties if you need them to be field-configurable and do not have DSC) and use bound network shared variables, but they are very fast and easy to setup and I have yet to have any issues with using them in my applications.

As for using an Ethernet switch to connect multiple devices, I have used this approach many times to simultaneously connect and control numerous PC's, real-time controllers, and drives without issue. I would not expect there to be any problems unless you have extenuating circumstances. In fact, if you only have one network interface on your device at the moment, I would recommend against adding a second, as this would mean that you / your controller would have to be extra aware of which interface everything is assigned to go through. -
Photoshop CC 2014/Intuos tablet causing PS to freeze, HELP!!

I've recently run into a serious issue that has stopped my workflow in its tracks. It has to do with some bizarre incompatibility issues between Photoshop CC 2014, Wacom Intuos tablets and Windows 8.1. I do not exactly know which one of those is the culprit, so here are some details.
The issue occurs whenever I use any keyboard shortcut involving the control key (step backwards is the big one) and the brush tool at the same time. If I try to make a brush stroke before fully releasing the shortcut keys (especially longer brush strokes), Photoshop completely freezes. It stays frozen until I move the stylus far away enough from the tablet that it no longer detects hovering; after a moment, the program will begin to function normally again. This doesn't ALWAYS happen; it seems to be more common when working in a document with many layers. If I open a new blank document, I can't get the glitch to work at all, but if I create a stack of layers with a few brush marks in each, the glitch can be reproduced easily almost 100 percent of the time.
Some more details:
-It happens with all Intuos drivers currently available via Wacom, including the ones on the legacy drivers page.
-The glitch is ONLY present in Photoshop CC 2014, not in older versions. However, I do not wish to roll back because I am working on a Surface Pro 3 and want to be able to pan and zoom using touch, which was only introduced in this version.
-It happens on all computers running Window 8/8.1, as well as the Windows 10 Technical Preview (I work for a tech company and have access to all varieties of test machines). Curiously, it does not seem to occur in Windows 7. I am able to reproduce the glitch immediately on every non-Win7 machine I install PS CC 2014 on. However, I require Windows 8+ for its touch-friendly features on the Surface.
-The glitch happens with (seemingly) all Intuos tablets, not just my Intuos 3 tablet. I actually purchased a new Intuos 4 from Best Buy to see if that would resolve the issue, but it persisted exactly the same.
-It does NOT occur when drawing on the screen with the N-Trig pen that came with my SP3 -- it ONLY occurs when using a Wacom tablet.
And here's the big one:
-De-selecting "Use Windows Ink" under the "mapping" tab in my Intuos settings causes the issue to go away entirely, but also disables pressure sensitivity, so this is not a viable option.
My suspicion is that this is some weird incompatibility between Photoshop CC 2014 and the Windows Ink API (my understanding is that this version of Photoshop ditched the old Wintab API for Windows Ink). Hopefully it will be ironed out in a future PS CC update.
In the mean time, does anybody have any ideas? I'm also posting at some Photoshop forums, but I figured someone here might be able to help. This is driving me absolutely up the wall.You fail to mention which Wacom Intuos and which Wacom drivers have installed. I do not have your problems on my Windows 7 Workstation or my Surface Pro 3 Windows 8.1 with the Intuos Pro with Wacom version 6.3.11w3 device driver. Premiere Pro CC 2014 with NVIDIA system freezes (Win7x64)
It appears after perhaps the last update Premiere Pro CC 2014 started freezing during editing. It appears to happen mostly with 4K material and using the Ultra key and alpha blending but may also occur with 4K titles. The sequences are 23.976 1080p, with mixed footage from the Sony A7S (50 Mbps XAVC-S/H.264) and GH4 (4K 100 Mbps H.264). There are also frequent crashes with GPUFoundation.dll (Mercury + CUDA). No freezing with software only rendering. I tried a variety of drivers when using a Quadro 5000 with no change in freeze behavior. I tried a new GTX 770 (clean driver install) and the freeze behavior and GPUFoundation.dll crashes are the same, however now even the mouse freezes. With the Quadro 5000, the entire Windows GUI would freeze (become inactive), however the mouse would still move. Thus, it appears there are issues with both NVidia drivers and Premiere Pro CUDA code path on Windows (app errors shouldn't be able to lock up the entire GUI). GPU Meter shows low GPU and GPU memory utilization during the freezes. The freezes typically occur when switching between clips during playback or scrubbing (more often with fast scrubbing). As a developer, it feels like some kind of semaphore lock / race condition, since during the freezes CPU, GPU, and memory utilization are very low. Additional hardware info: 2010 MacPro 12-Core, 24GB RAM running Win7x64 (with latest updates). Side note: PPro used to hang in memory on exit, but stopped after a recent Microsoft forced update (PPro now crashes sometimes on exit but no longer hangs in memory (used to have to kill it after exiting every time)). Has this been reported before? (A7S XAVC & GH4 4K footage is relatively new)
This crash occurred when dragging Black Video with Noise and other effects on top of alpha composited layers (+3 layers). CUDA turned the rendered area black, so I switched to OpenCL. This crash happened a few minutes later. While this would appear to be an Nvidia driver error (OpenCL), perhaps the developers can investigate. The system is very stable except when doing complex operations in PPro (and only PPro crashes). A tried and true Quadro 5000 crashed in the same way (totally different hardware and drivers).

Note : same issue persists on different Windows 8.1 with - Nvidia Quadro K4200 4GB.
The software stops responding and freezes when photoshop Smudge tool only when size is increased to >4000px ,
Have updated CC desktop from
https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and installed all updates.

Windows 8.1 compatibility FAQs | CC, CS6, Acrobat
Reduced cache set size to 128 in performance.
Tried Advanced graphics card settings in preferences.
Changed processor affinity , no go.
Kindly suggest solution at the earliest

We had tried on multiple operating system and also with latest updates done , same issue persists ,current version is 14.2.1 x64 , Photoshop stops responding once brush size in increased about 1000px.
All latest update were installed via creative common cloud.

Deleting pages impossible (pages in use)
I have a PDF and would like to delete one or more pages. I keep getting the message(German version) "Eine oder mehr Seiten sind in Gebrauch und können nicht gelöscht werden." Translation: One or more pages are in use and cannot be deleted. I have Ado
