Library acting up

I just got the Jam Packs for Garage Band, knowing I'd be able to use them in LE8. I have been, albeit with limited success. If I want to change the one of the software instruments, after a bit of editing, I get a 'File not found' error which has a result code of -43. I can't even click on the voice I'm currently using without getting the same error.
If I add a new track, the problem does not persist, but the library lists only a few different instruments that seem to have all been created using the same synth. I cannot browse the rest of the library anymore, only a select few instruments. This happens on any track I navigate away from and return to.
Thanks in advace

Hi,

Each Mac gets the Client end and you can purchase  the controlling app if you like.
The Apple Remote Desktop Engine is also used by the Screen Sharing part of Messages (AIM and Jabber accounts), the Screen Sharing option in System Preferences > Sharing (which can also be seen on Windows connecting to Network "Servers")

  • Anyones iTunes TV Library Acting Funny?

    Yesterday my TV shows on iTunes started acting crazy - I noticed it when almost every TV show I have purchased came up in the Unwatched tab as partially watched.  However, when displaying all shows, there are multiple listings for shows (for example, Eureka is displayed 3 times for all five seasons), the shows are not in order, album art is wrong, and random purchased shows that I still have downloaded are coming up twice (one for the downloaded show and then another one for the itunes in the cloud listing).
    If I turn off Show TV Shows in the Cloud, everything goes back to normal...

    This might not be part of the same issue but I recently started seeing doubles of all of my movie downloads in my Library.  Some were the local media icons and some were the cloud version icons.  It seems the last time I logged into the iTunes Store to make a purchase it kept me logged in.  This caused the multiple listings.  Try logging out of the Store.  This should clean things up.

  • Library acting strange in CS4?

    I've been wondering why items in my library disappear
    occasionally - including the library buttons and column headers!
    For anyone else's information, I've narrowed the problem down
    to a CS4 bug.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1.Create a MovieClip
    2. Select 'Component Definition'
    3. Add a parameter so that the component icon will become
    visible.
    4. Select 'Seek Bar Control Icon' or 'Buffering Control Icon'
    as custom component icon.
    5. Select 'OK'
    6. Watch the craziness ensue!

    Craig,

    Good catch! I'm forwarding your find to the Flash team and
    will reply
    again to this thread if I heard anything back. Your steps do
    display a bug
    on my installation as well.

  • No email attachments to Document library when using data driven subscriptions

    We have recently migrated to SharePoint 2013 and setup document libraries to publish reports to.
    When we send an email with an attachment to the document library from a users mailbox, the document library acts as expected and detaches the email and publishes it to a subfolder inside the library. However when we schedule reports using data driven subscriptions
    and add the email address as a CC, the subfolder gets created but there is no attachment.
    What could cause this issue?
    Thanks for your time

    Hi WFN_Will,
    regarding this issue, we don't know for sure, unless we trace the process,
    do the attachment is not there, or when the attachment there the process was failed, or the target not able to receive the attachment?
    from the description, seems the target and the process of receiving the attachment is ok, I guess you can start to check from this part:

  • Itunes library path x 2

    I have two iTunes libraries on the same laptop. One path is:
    C:\Users\Users 1\My Music\iTunes      and the new library is:
    C:\Users\User 1\Documents\Empty Rip Folder do not delete\new user\iTunes Media
    I created the empty rip folder because of all of the confusion between Media Player and iTunes, but that is a long story.  Anyway I would like to change the path of the second library because it just is not something I remember. Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can put it into My Music without causing problems?
    Do you think I could have something like:
    My Music\King\iTunes    and     My Music\Queen\iTunes

    See my user tips Make a split library portable and Getting iTunes & Windows Media Player to play nicely.
    If you want to be able to switch between two libraries easily both should be in a portable layout and each should really be using iTunes Media as the media folder name. The folder above can vary, so you could have ..\My Music\King and ..\My Music\Queen, with independent library files in each of those folders, and each containing an iTunes Media folder for its own media files. The first tip should help with manipulating the libraries into the right shape for moving around without breaking the internal links between the library and the media.
    Note also that certain settings such Keep iTunes Media folder organized & Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to the library act on a per user basis rather than per library, so changing settings while one library is active may affect when happens when you switch to the other one.

  • IPhoto won't open photos from thumbnails.

    Hi - Some weeks ago, my older version of iPhoto stopped opening photos from the thumbnails.  You click on thumbnail and nothing happens, no black screen, no beach ball, no error messages - just as though you haven't clicked on it at all.  So reading other people's experiences, I've now upgraded Mac OS to 10.9.2, and upgraded my version of iPhoto to 9.5.1.  I've ditched the Plist.  I've gone through the iPhoto First Aid options 1 to 4, I've installed Library Manager and rebuilt the library.  I've restarted.  But I still can't open photographs from the thumbnails.  Is there anything else I could try please?

    Try the following again:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete the contents the following folder:
    User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
    3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
    where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
    If there's no improvement as a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
    I've installed Library Manager and rebuilt the library.
    Did the rebuld library act the same way?
    Are you seeing the thumbnails in the Events?
    Go to the Photos mode, turn off Event Titles in the View menu, select all of the photos in the library and use the Photos ➙ Revert to Original menu option.  Then double click on an thumbnail again.

  • IPhoto 09 won't save edits...

    So at first I would make edits to photos and they would appear the same in the edit window as they do in the gallery view. Now the edits don't "stick" and when you leave edit view the changes are not there. Say I go to edit a photo, and change it to black & white, it is black & white in the edit view, but when it goes to gallery view it is in color, and if I export it, drag it to the desktop, upload it to Facebook etc., the edits are not there. How can I fix this?

    Two things to try:
    1 - create a second temp library, import a picture or two and see it if will save edits. If it does then the library is bonkers. If the second library acts the same go to #2.
    2 - log into another account and try there. If it doesn't work there then iPhoto is the culprit and requires a reinstall. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
    If it does work in the other account then your primary account is the culprit. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to check that out:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
    1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
    2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
    3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
    4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
    NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
    5 - If the problem is fixed:
    A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
    B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
    C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
    6 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.

  • Problems with Terminal and iTerm

    This is a common issue with XCode, but if you're not using that, try a permissions repair. Probably a random library acting up.

  • Sequence Grabber experts??

    I am working on some legacy code. It uses sequence grabber to get all the capture devices (works fine), then loops through a selected device to try to find all the supported resolutions. The code works fine on old/slow systems. However, when it runs on newer/faster systems I'm running into problems being that there will end up being a 10 - 15 second delay before the camera physically does anything when this loop is called.
    The two main calls that are being used to do this are
    * SGSetChannelBounds()
    * SGGetChannelSampleDescription()
    Now, I believe that the problem is that these calls are asynchronous and that they are simply being called to quickly. I am interested in a way to either:
    * Wait till the call returns before continuing on (like SGWait() if there were such a thing), or
    * Making the library act in a synchronous manner, OR
    * Perhaps there is a better way to do this (other functions). Also, I am looking at QTVideoOutputGetDisplayModeList() from the Video Digitizer library. I'd like to stick with sequence grabber though considering that the rest of the code uses it.
    Simply adding a delay is a lame way to solve this.
        for (int i=0; i < numSizes; i++)
            captureSize.right = widths[i];
            captureSize.bottom = heights[i];
            err = SGSetChannelBounds(_captureChannel, &captureSize);
    printf("SGSetChannelBounds = %d\n", err);
              // Sleep(100); // if I sleep here, the function works properly. That's not a valid way of solving this
            if (err == noErr)
                   SGIdle(_captureChannel);
                ImageDescriptionHandle imageDesc = (ImageDescriptionHandle)NewHandle(0);
                   err = SGGetChannelSampleDescription(_captureChannel, (Handle)imageDesc);
                   // SGIdle(_captureChannel); // doesn't help at all
    printf("SGGetChannelSampleDescription = %d\n", err);
                if (err == noErr)
    printf("imageDesc:\t width=%d\t height=%d\n", (**imageDesc).width, (**imageDesc).height);
    printf("captureSize:\t top=%d\t left=%d\t right=%d\t bottom=%d\n", captureSize.top, captureSize.left, captureSize.right, captureSize.bottom);
                    if (captureSize.right == (**imageDesc).width &&
                        captureSize.bottom == (**imageDesc).height)
    printf("!!!!! ADDING RESOLUTION !!!!! as GIPSCameraCapability\n");
                        GIPSCameraCapability* cap = new GIPSCameraCapability();
                        cap->width = captureSize.right;
                        cap->height = captureSize.bottom;
                        cap->maxFPS = 0;
                        cap->type = captureVideoType;
                        _captureCapabilityList.PushBack(cap);
                        numCaps++;
                             lastGoodWidth = captureSize.right;
                             lastGoodHeight = captureSize.bottom;
                    else
    printf("resolution not supported\n");
                        // Just store the size we actually got in the image description
                        lastWidth = (**imageDesc).width;
                        lastHeight = (**imageDesc).height;
                   DisposeHandle((Handle)imageDesc);
    printf("\n");
    Any ideas?

    Thx for the interest.
    This is happening with the iSight camera (haven't tried other cameras) on Macbook Pro hardware (so the customer says). I believe it's due to ^^ though. We've tested this on probably 10 various mac hardware sets, 3 of which are the macbook pro, and all three have the problem. The thing is that our other hardware platforms are slower machines.
    I will try other cameras right now just to rule out a possible iSight/MBP firmware cooperation problem.

  • I have found my old ipod (which was linked to itunes on a computer gone years ago w/ an itunes act I dont remembe).  Currently the songs are visible and I can play them on itunes but I cannot sync them into my current library.  How do I sync both systems?

    I have tried to: sync the songs, organize the library and consolidate files, copy and paste songs
    Nothing has worked so far.
    Also when my ipod comes up in my computer, the songs are not present there.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
    Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
    Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
