Library and Event information - hours /minutes

Hi.
I am working on a large documentary and have a lot of footage. Each event has a lot of clips in each of them. Is there a way to find out how many hours and minutes of footage is in each event or the total library? If so, what do I need to do to get that information? I know from the inspector window I can see how many Gigabytes of data is stored but not any more information beyond that.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Probably. You should see something like this

  • Can I or how can I move my "Project Library" and "Event Library" to an external hard drive and work from there?

I am running low on hard drive space and would like to move my imovie "Project Library" and "Event Library" to an external hard drive.   I cannot figure out how to find these libraries on my hard drive to move them.    How do I tell iMovie to look to the external hard drive to find them?

You need to do all moves from within iMovie so you do not break the links between your projects and your events.
First you need an external drvie that is formatted as Mac OS Extended (journaled). FAT32 drives will not work, but can be reformatted using Disk Utility.
In iMovie, click VIEW/EVENTS BY DISK.
In the Project Library you should see all properly formatted disks as well as your current projects. Hold down the Command Key as you drag the small icon for the project to the small icon for the external drive in the Project Library List. Repeat for all projects.
Now do the same for the Events. Command-Drag the small icon for the Event to the small icon for the external drive in the Event Library List.
Note: If you drag, rather than Command-Drag, you will Copy rather than Move.

Really hope you sort ou your irl-issues, theres obviously some.Interesting, I've been called that by people that have had a far better idea of what they were talking about than yourself--you see I come from a school of education where the professor told us: After you've thought about it for days, banged your head against the wall and not had any valid results after hours of work, then come to me and I'll give you enough to get started. 54% of the class washed out before the very first test. (Oh, by the way, his great revelation on how to get started was: keep a pencil and paper by you at all times--you may wake up and know the answer: write it down then and there because you will not remember later.)
I stood in the freshman class at the university I attended for undergrad work as president of our professional organization on campus and told them: "Look to your left. Now look to your right. On an average, if you make it through your chosen field of studies, everyone else in your row will not." It was a sobering fact for them, but they found out later just how true my words were. There were 12 rows--the university graduated 12 of them. That figure held true for my class too.
So when a student comes in and trys to lay the guilt out on us... just know that we've been through it--where you are--and we are the ones that survived and excelled.
Man-up and do what needs to be done to compete in school, it doesn't get any easier in the workplace. I'll not go through the details of trudging to class in the snow, not sleeping for 3 days straight to get assignments done, weeks at a time where I could count the number of hours of sleep on my fingers and not repeat any, working 35 hours a week and carrying a full college load, hit the books when all my friends were out partying... just to name a few things. So excuse me (us) if we turn a bit of a blind eye to your "emergency" we had them, we handled them, we made it because we paid the price. If you're not... well, you're not: just don't expect a sympathetic eye from those that took the pounding day after day and made it.

Something is seriously wrong with your installation or you are critically low on RAM, like below 2 GB.
How much RAM is in your machine?
    Have you tried a Recovery?

  • [WPF] TextBox and String Format Hour:Minutes

    Hi,
I would set the string format in a TextBox that it is binding with a Date.
    For example, if I have 01/04/2015 16:11,
    1) I would show only 16:11
    2) When the user modifies the hour must respect the format hh:mm
    Thanks.

Please close your previous threads by marking helpful posts as answer before you start a new one.
If the source property is a DateTime you could use the StringFormat property of the binding:
    <TextBox Text="{Binding Date, StringFormat=hh:mm}"/>
    >>When the user modifies the hour must respect the format hh:mm
A TextBox is only a textBox where the user can type in some text. If you want to restrict the format of the input you could use a masked TextBox. There is no such control built-in into WPF but the WPF Toolkit contains one that you can use:

  • None of my iDevices can read my iTunes library after an hour of availibility. When I first start iTunes I can read the library, but after about 30 minutes my iPad's and iPhones can no longer access the library. I see it in the shared list, but no access.

None of my iDevices can read my iTunes library after about 30 minutes. My iDevices lose connection to my library and  I have to do one of the three following things in iTunes to regain connectivity: 1. Restart iTunes 2: Stop / Start Home Services 3: Start playing a song.
I'ts as if iTunes goes into a background or sleep mode. During the loss of connectivity my iDevices show that there's a library shared, but I cannot connect to it.

Smae issue here, but I'm unable to get Home Sharing started again (after MAc and iOS restarts, Home Sharing on/off. etc.) This happend a few weeks ago and turngin Home Sharing Off/On fixed the connection issue b/w iPad2 5.1 and iTunes 10.6.1 running on a OSX10.6.8.
I updated to iOS 5.1.1 on iPad2 today, watched a movie and then about 20 minutes into a 2nd movie I lost connection (Sharing tab in Video app disappeared and has not come back.) The update seems like the culprit, but odd it worked for over 2 hours before stopping, odd I can't get Sharing to work anymore (iTunes see's my iOS devices b/c I can conenct to iTunes to enter my passcod efor connecting the Remote app.) Appears to be an issue with iTunes broadcasting Home Sharing, even thougt it says it is on.

  • HT2638 I am using OSX 10.8.5 with iPhoto 11. I have damaged my iPhoto library and am unable to open up my library with iPhoto. When I use 'open package contents' with the library, I can see that all my photos are there. Can I rebuild the events?

I have tried the option + command button while opening iPhoto but this has not helped.

Your next step would be tp try rebuild with iPhoto Library Manager and its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How do I get this to stop? re-uploading takes 4 hours and is never completed.  I only get some of the 6000+ songs I have. This started when I updated to IOS5 i think.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Hey Armando Stettner,
Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is!
With time zone support on, you can edit an individual event and change the time zone for that event. This list will include options for your default time zones, UTC, and "floating" - the latter of which is what you are looking for. Floating changes the event to occur at the specified time, local time.
For information on changing an event's time zone, see the following resource:
Calendar: Change an event’s time zone

I look forward to hearing how this works for you.
    Cheers!

  • Please please help - I have been trying forums and fixes for hours - I installed ios5 on my iphone 3gs, and it wiped the audiobook i downloaded on my phone in itunes, the worst bit is i just had 30 minutes to go on a 20 hour book!!!

Audible still shows the book (although i purchased it in itunes) but was playing it in audiobooks, it shows the book there but says no data when i try to play it.
It shows in my purchase history in my account but not in my itunes library and I really begrudge paying8 quid again just to listen to last 20/30 minutes - but it is so frustrating i have literally spent hours searching blogs for hints and would appreciate any help

Did you fail to transfer all purchases to your compter before updating?

  • I rented a movie and it downloaded but the movie skips and i can hear the words but the picture does not? and now the movie is gone from the library and i only rented it an hour ago? what do i do?

I rented a movie and it downloaded but the movie skips and i can hear the words but the picture does not? and now the movie is gone from the library and i only rented it an hour ago? what do i do?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Information Screen Library and Store SDK or Reading SDK within a folio

There are conflicting materials in regards to new r30 Information Screen functionality:
    adobeDPS.dialogService.displayCustomWebview(url)
From Adobe TV's Information Screen & Scheduled Text Notifications by Colin Fleming, it states:
    Similar to digital blow-ins, but
    - Access to Store/Library API creates new possibilities in an article
However, this capability conflicts other articles by Adobe, in which only the Reading SDK is available from an Information Screen when loaded within a folio.
From Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Help, Using HTML and JavaScript APIs to extend DPS, it states:
For HTML content within a folio, such as an HTML article or a Web Content overlay, you can reference the Reading API. The Reading API includes some some features available in the Library and Store API as well as APIs for geolocation, camera, calendar, and device detection.
Any HTML content you specify in DPS App Builder can reference the Library and Store API. HTML articles or Web Content overlays in a folio can reference the Reading API.
From Adobe's New APIs and features in r30, including folio navigation, article metadata and calendar events:
The API that the webview can access depends on where the webview was invoked. If invoked from within the app, the webview will have access to the Library/Store API. If invoked from within a folio, the webview will have access to the Reading API. If your transparent webview was opened from a custom tab you will need to include the library/store API. If it was opened from a folio, you will need to include the reading API.
Because this API is accessible from the library/store and reading APIs, this API is available to both DPS Enterprise and DPS Professional customers.
Loading an Information Screen within a folio with the Library and Store SDK fails silently, unable to bring up the web view.
Loading an Information Screen within a folio with the Reading SDK is functional.

This line in Colin's video is incorrect:
"Access to Store/Library API creates new possibilities in an article"
The information in the articles is correct. Specifically, if you launch the Information Screen from within an HTML article or a Web Content overlay, you reference the Reading APIs. If you launch the Information Screen from within an entitlement banner, a custom library, or a custom slot, you reference the Library/Store APIs.

  • I had to recreate my itunes library and now, when i tried to sync my ipod, i got a warning that everything currently on my ipod would be cleared; how do i sync without losing the information currently on my ipod?

Recently I was forced to recreate my entire iTunes library.  My computer shut down unexpectedly and when I restarted it, my iTunes library was gone from the iTunes software.  After *finally* receiving some information from iTunes support about restoring the library (which meant I had to do exactly what I was afraid I would have to do--basically click-and-drag the entire contents from my hard drive back into the library), I wanted to update my iPod with the songs I'd added since the last updating.  And this is where more trouble began.
When I plugged in my iPod to sync it with the library, I got a warning message informing me that the library currently on the iPod would be cleared during the syncing, because the iPod can only be associated with "one" library.  Well, I did NOT want to do that because I wanted to retain the playcount and other information about the songs.  I was also hoping to keep the playlists currently on the iPod.
So, my first instinct was to contact iTunes support.  The only problem there was that going through the Support pages ended up with my needing to call Apple.  I'd attempted that when I first lost the library and was told by the Support associate that ALL iTunes help and support must be done online.  Ironic, huh?  I can't get iTunes support online until I call Apple support to get a direct web address to take me to the express lane help pages.  And, unfortunately, I made the mistake of uninstalling and reinstalling my AOL software and lost ALL of my e-mails with the iTunes support addresses in the process.
So basically, I need to know what to do here.  Is there a way to keep the current iTunes library on my iPod and still syncing with the recreated library or do I just need to accept the loss of the library currently on my iPod?  I may try to call Apple Support and get that iTunes online support address again but I'd really like to get this resolved more quickly.  The last time that I called and then I got the iTunes online help address, it ended up taking 2 days to get that help.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

    Hi Patrick,
I'm starting to think it's either an AirPort card issue or something to do with the Mac OS. I have stopped using wireless as much as possible in my home (have wired up several new Ethernet outlets), and it sure is nice having Internet run at the speed it's supposed to all the time, and with no drops. Might be something to consider.
    In the meantime:
Open System Preferences > Network > select AirPort > click on Advanced > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6 > Off > OK > Apply > Turn AirPort Off > Turn AirPort On
    Open System Preferences > Network > select Ethernet > click on Advanced > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6 > Off > OK > Apply
(FOR LION: If you can’t see an option to turn ipv6 off, set it to link-local only.)
