Library Buttons and HTTP Link

Using Flash (CS4 Pro) I used one of the predefined buttons
(tube blue) from the buttons.fla from the common libraries folder.
Image is on the stage and I see the up,over,down,hit states. I want
to add a link to go to another web page but when I select
Window>Actions the script box says "Current Selection cannont
have actions applied to it". All the examples (and even adobes)
show creating buttons from a pic and none using the buttons.fla
list. I can't find anything to tell me how to add a link to this
button.

In the pane below the list of action script commands, click
on Scene1 or whatever the scene name is, that should reveal (above
it) the button. Then click on that button to enable the commands.
I discovered this poking around trying to solve my button
issue.

  • JSF Command Button and Command Links

    The main page of my JSF application has a Save button and Command Links. After making any changes on the main page the user should click Save before using any of the Links. Most of the time almost all users do this. However, some users are making changes then clicking a Link, thereby losing their changes.
    I could always execute my save method in the backing bean when a link is clicked, but, most of the time this would be doing a lot of processing which usually would not be necessry.
    Is their some way to check if any changes have been made and then doing the save only when necessary?
    Regards,
    Al Malin

    Anybody?
    What would be beneficial is something like this. If somehow it could be determined if any of the JSF fields on the page were modified. Then, in the backing bean method that handles the ActionEvents for the links, I would check if changes were made and, if so, call my save method.
    In other words is it possible to determine, in the backing bean, whether or not JSF fields have changed?

    The newsletter works fine except if we add a button and/or link to the top zone on that newsletter it blows up ONLY ON iPhones!
    This happened last month too. It seems to be related to length of the newsletter too. It works on every device except iPhones - so weird.

    Hi, is anyone else experiencing i-phone only problems on email campaigns? not bashing Apple, just having issues where our newsletter are only having issues on iPhones

    the user cor-el has a method that does not require any add-ons. He States
    This code in userChrome.css will move "Open Link in New Window" to the top of the context menu.
    <pre>@namespace url("<a href="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul">http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul</a>"); /* only needed once */
    #contentAreaContextMenu &gt; * { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2; }
    #context-openlink { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important; }</pre>
    the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
    1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
    2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
    3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
    4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
    5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
    I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well.

  • Re deleting Play Movie button and associated links.

    Hi - thanks in advance for any help to a newbie.
    I have created an iDVD5 file from iMovie5. All went well with Chapter markers etc all coming through into my chosen theme. I started to customise the theme to my liking and noticed in the map area a file called 'Beginning' which was not one of my chapters. I saw that it was the start of the movie which I already had created a chapter marker for, and so I deleted it, thinking it superfluous. Subsequently, I noticed that the 'Play Movie" button had disappeared from the opening screen. The chapters are all intact and I can access and play these in the usual way. I can't, however, opt to play the full movie from the start because of no button or underlying link. Is there a solution?

    Hi, Laureid,
    Welcome to the discussions!
    Glad you are using iDVD and making your project from iMovie! You have made an error with your chapter markers, and unfortunately, you would have had no way of knowing that.
    You will have to recreate your DVD project. Go back into iMovie and delete your beginning chapter marker. As you have seen, iDVD makes the beginning chapter marker for you. Your movie will not play correctly if you do not let iDVD do this for you.
    Relaunch iDVD and create the project again, then import your movie into the new iDVD....or you can use the "Create DVD" button in iMovie if that is what you did the first time and it worked for you. This time you should have all your chapter markers as well as the beginning one. You can easily rename that first marker in iDVD's scene selection menu, so that you can have it the name you wish instead of 'Beginning.'
    Your movie should play and burn to DVD just fine now.
    Good luck, and post back if this doesn't work.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your answer!
    Sorry, I've probably put a bit unlucky me. Of course I put the buttons and buttons in
    InDesign with functions and gimicks, but the output is a html swf file (e-brochure for web).
    But I have tonight found a solution that works great!
    Thank you! LIL.

  • Button and JavaScript link (help)

    I would like to know how to make a link to open in to a new
    window and..., I have been using javascript links to open images in
    small windows; <a href="images/samples/SampleSC.gif"
    onclick="return popitup('images/samples/SampleSC.gif')"> These
    links work in the html, and I would like to add this link to a
    button(or something) in flash 8
    The following is in my html to make the links work, but if I
    just get the above link somehow imbedded in to a button I think it
    will work from there
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function popitup(url) {
    newwindow=window.open(url,'name','height=490,width=720,scrollbars=yes');
    if (window.focus) {newwindow.focus()}
    return false;
    </script>
    I am so new to this. I have tried adding the following to the
    action script but it did not work;
    homepage_btn.onRelease = function () {
    getURL("
    http://www.macromedia.com",
    "_blank");
    I found the following ways to do this
    http://www.abcpchelp.com/temp/URL2.htm
    but either I did not know how to use them or they did not work
    The flash file I am working on is here:
    http://www.msresume.com.au/Default1Draft.aspx
    (the links will be in the sample thumbnails)
    Thank you, your time is appreciated!

    All you need is one simple line in flash an none of the HTML
    stuff.
    getURL("javascript:n_name=window.open('page.htm','thewin','width=720,height=490,scrollbars =yes');void(0);");
    Take note tho, this might not work tested locally. You need
    to upload to server and
    test it online.
    Now, if you have multiple windows, change the "thewin" to
    something like "thewin1" "thewin2" etc...
    If you keep requesting window with same name, you end up
    loading other content into it.
    New name assure new object and new window made.
    Best Regards

  • Had problem with bookmarks, history, back button and google links not working.

    For the last five days i've had problems with firefox. First, i noticed that it was running incredibly slowly and then that all the links in the google search were not working. Then i noticed that neither was the history, bookmarks or back button. I went on to facebook chat to ask for help. First, I was told to reinstall firefox, which didn't work. Then i was told to do a "clean" install where you rename the old firefox folder in the programs folder so that it makes sure when it's installed that everything is new and nothing is corrupted. That didn't work either. I then disabled my antivirus software and firewall to see if that was causing the problem. It was not. Then I installed an anti-malware program to remove any adware or spywar,e which it did remove from my computer, but it didn't solve the problem. The chat person was at a loss and I don't blame him/her because so was I.
    The reason I'm writing this is in case anyone else has the same problem. The only way I solved it was first by uninstalling and making sure to check the little box asking if you want all personal data and such associated with firefox also removed (which removes cookies as well) and then I finally thought to delete all the cookies from the rest of my computer also. Once all the cookies were gone and i had fully uninstalled firefox and personal data, I reinstalled it with a newly downloaded file and it is once again functioning properly. Hope this is helpful to anyone who's been ripping their hair out. :)

    '''I have the same problem!!
    But in my case, not just Google links.
    The problem happens with all the websites links.
    Please...
    Help us!!

  • Upgraded Firefox, where is all my saved tabs (buttons) and quick links?

    I upgraded to a new version of Firefox, supposedly to make it run faster, but why do I have to spend an hour setting up my home page again? I didn't save my buttons to favorites because, well I had the buttons.Why can't I just get the improvements without having to start over?

    This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • I have lost my photos/videos when i imported from my ipad 2 to my new imac latest version and it's not reading the files.  I have downloaded iMac library manager and can see them. can someone shed some light please ?

    i have lost my photos/videos when i imported from my ipad 2 to my new imac latest version OS X 10.8.4
    and it's not reading the files.  I have downloaded iMac library manager and can see them.  when i go back into iphoto i'm getting the following message :
    Do you want to switch the current iPhoto Library from “iPhoto Library.photolibrary” to “iPhoto Library.photolibrary” and relaunch iPhoto?
    I don't know what to do - please help !!!!
    can someone shed some light please ?

    So it appears you have only one library on the hard drive. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed to that library:
    Fix #1
    1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
    3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
    4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    5 - Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Mailto and HTTP in Reports

    Some of my reports in iPortal show email ids and web urls.
    How do I enable the Mailto and HTTP links so that clicking on the field (withMailto) opens the email client with the addressee email id and similarly (for http) open up another browser to display that site?

    In the report wizard, select the report from sql query. In the sql statement you can mix html tags with sql accordingly. See below the example that comes with the PEOPLE_APP of Oracle Portal. Hope this helps.

  • Editing my library, lags and slows up the proccess

    while editing my library I find that the system lags and it becomes very frustrating when I have to wait for the system to do what I need it to do. I have one of macs most recent and their more powerful units. I do have quite an extensive music library that I am always trying to work with and get as much info on it as possible. I am becoming disappointed with how things are going and even concidering finding another media format. this is not what I prefer, but if I am unable to come to a good resolution for this I don't see a choice. any answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Since you can click on it to delete it give this a try: Try the following:
    1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.
    If that doesn't fix the problem continue with:
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button,
    and select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. (This is the downside to the method but it should give you functioning library with no bad actors in it.)
    Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
