Library can't be expanded through referencing different locations for media

Ok, Apple wants us all to be save and not to loose any of the contents we purchase through Apple TV. So it copies everything that is on your Apple TV to your iTunes library. This is a nice idea that, unfortunately, comes with a huge inconvenience: there is no way for us users to tell iTunes where to put, for example, those huge movie files. ITunes simply copies them into the iTunes library the second iTunes is connected to your Apple TV. What this does is filling up the library on your computer faster than you could imagine. Here is an idea: how about using a referenced file system instead. That way users can decide where iTunes should put those valuable Apple TV backup files freeing up all that hard disk space on your computer drive for more important stuff. You may ask, why don't we just move the entire library to an external drive, like Apple suggests? Because it moves everything to the external hard drive leaving my computer's internal drive with nothing but an empty iTunes library, which means I will always have to carry my external drive with me in order to get excess to my files. Well, I could, of course, create a new library on my Macbook and copy stuff I want from my main library (on my external drive) into that library (on my Macbook). Really? That's the most convenient way Apple can come up with: manually copying files between drives? How about an option that allows users to treat my newly created Macbook library like an iPot? That would allow users to decide which contents (playlists, movies, etc) will be synced with my main library on my external drive. Could it be so difficult? That way everything remains organized and in sync, and to get back to my original point, one saves all that valuable internal hard disk space.
Anybody out there that has a better idea?

I think what he is talking about is having the abilty to store and access ALL his ITUNES library while at home and a subset of it while he is on the road with his laptop. If this is the case, there is something you can try.
On the laptop, which I assume is your ITUNES host, point ITUNES at an external drive as its library. While you are at home, ITUNES will store and stream normally but will in fact be accessing an off board network drive for managing the actual data files. The "library" is kept on the host (the laptop) as an database file, but the actual data is NOT on the laptop but streamed to it automatically when at home.
When you are on the road and want to watch a subset of your library, what you can do is creat a separte folder on the desktop and drag into it a copy of the movie files that you want to watch while NOT connected to your physical library disk on your home network. You can copy any or all of the files in your ITUNES library and should to maintain a backup. You can then go to ths folder with the copies of your movies on your laptop and double click them. They will run "outside" of ITUNES. At least they do on my laptops. I do it all the time and it works just fine.
If you have a large ITUNES library, you should be backing it up to a separate physical drive in any case for your own protection. You can always rebuild ITUNES if you have the data files by dragging those files into a new instance of ITUNES. For content purchased from Istore, you will need to connect the "new" rebuilt ITUNES instance to the Istore to get it reauthorized but I have done it several times.

  • Can we get a output in different languages for the same configuration

    Hi All,
Can we get a output in different languages for the same configuration done in NACE. or it is language specific.
They have symbols which have values both in german and english. But when we run the transaction we are getting the output only in german language. We want the out put in english
    language.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Rajesh

A Smartform can be maintained in many languages other than the language that it is created. Translations for the texts have to be maintained for this purpose.
    To maintain the translations:
Go to transaction SE63 in R/3.
Go to menu Translation->R/3 Enterprise->Other Long Texts
Select the object type in the pop up. Smartform(SSF) object type is found under Forms and Styles(FS).
Enter the name of the Smart form and choose the source and target language. This would open a screen with the Smartform code in Source language on the top and an editor with the same code in the bottom.
Find the text for which you need to maintain the translation and insert the translation in that place. As usual after required texts are maintained Save and Activate.
To see the translated Smartform create an output type and assign the smartform and the driver program to this output type. In the transaction that sends output to this smartform, select the output type and select the language in which the smartform has to be displayed (translations have to be maintained in this lanuage). This will give the smartform in the required language.

  • My htc-phone provides internet facility through cable/blue-tooth to my windows notebook. It does not have a wifi or hotspot facility.  Can the same internet through blue-tooth work for ipad2.

My htc-phone provides internet facility through cable/blue-tooth to my windows notebook. My htc-phone does not have a wifi or hotspot facility.  Can the same internet through blue-tooth work for ipad2?

No, the bluetooth profile in the iPad does not provide that
capacity. Can your netbook be a wifi transmitter? If yes,
you can connect to the internet via htc-phone and pass
the connection to the netbook which will connect via wifi
to iPad. I am not familiar with the hardware in netbooks nor
the capabilities of Windows, so what I am suggesting looks
good in theory but the reality may not allow it. Still worth
    checking into.

  • The operation can't be completed because the original item for "media" can't be found

Yosemite recognizes my BlackBerry Z30 on my Network. I see my Media Folder and my Removable_Sdcard.
Whenever I try to access them I get this message:
The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “media” can’t be found.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

I am having the same exact issue and I've been busting my testi-balls to figure it out. I've got 15 years experience in the computer game and still can't figure it out. I see a lot of people having similiar issues, but no one seems to have an answer for MY issue, which is virtually the same as the OP.
    Brand new Macbook Retina.
    Windows 7 x64 Machine.
ALL drives shared with ALL permissions of ALL accounts manually inserted on the Windows 7 side.
ALL other PC's in the house can access the drives on the Windows 7 machine without issue.
Only the Macbook Retina has the problem connecting. Every Windows drive I shared is visible under "network" in finder, but when I click on any of them it gives the quoted error message the OP stated.
PLEASE, if anyone finds a fix for this, let us know!

  • New Document Series for different locations for Production Orders

    Hi Experts,
I have came across a scenario where we have to setup different Document Series for Different Locations. Actually the Company is having 2 units . First one is the factory itself and the second one is Subcontracting Unit to which the company sends the job work order . But there it wishes to track the productions processes and the Stock tracking Warehouse Wise for
this Second unit also . As Such I have created 2 locations and one warehouse for (RM,SFG,FG) for both the units.
The obvious requirement here is to maintain different Document Series for Productions orders for both the units .
Please guide me about how to overcome this scenario.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pooja Singh.

    Hi Pooja,
Yes. You can maintain different document series for production Order or any documents depending upon your business scenario.  Let's say, you need to maintain Production orderu2019s of job work and sub contracting.
You can define this under Administration>System Initialization> Document numbering.
Select Production orders--> let say Factory first number 1, last number 199999, select current period indicator and update. Similarly for the subcontracting, in the name field, "work order", first number as 110001 or the way you desire, and then the last number.

  • Can you use a network share as location for users' home

I am running a Mac mini with Mountain Lion and Server.app as a home server. For added storage space I have a NAS. I would like to set up the open directory network users' home share on the NAS. Is that even possible?
I am able to mount the network share on the mini using either afp or nfs, and I can also add the NAS share as a home folder enabled share in the server.app and select that as location for a users home folder, but that only results in the user not being able to log on to his account. Is there something that I am missing or is what I am trying to accomplish simply not possible?

It used to be officially supported to use NFS for clients to access their network home directories but with Lion (and Mountain Lion) this was no longer officially supported.
Therefore the need as I mentioned to 're-share' the volume via AFP. As you implied this does unfortunately impose an additional network overhead as traffic has to go as follows.
    client ----> AFP ----> Server -----> NFS -----> NAS
What you could consider to help at least a little bit is to connect the server to the NAS on a totally separate network to the network the server uses to talk to the clients on. The main network would be between the server and clients, and you would use a second Ethernet connection just link the NAS and the server. As the clients will not need to talk directly to the NAS this will not be a problem. This would at least mean that each network only gets one set of traffic either AFP or NFS but not both and means the server can use both at full speed at the same time.
The Mac Pro still has two built-in 1Gbps Ethernet ports but you can also get either a USB3 Ethernet adaptor or a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adaptor (I have used one of these on a Mac mini server).
If you did not already have the NAS then people starting from new would be better off either getting a Thunderbolt RAID which can be directly attached to the Mac server, or at the higher-end go the traditional route of setting up a SAN and using an FDDI connection.
Note: You can now get Thunderbolt to FDDI interfaces.

  • Can you save system settings scratch disks locations for each project?

When you begin a new project in FCE you need to set the System Settings Scratch Disks. Typically you would set a new folder for each project to keep all of your files for each project in one location for that project.
I have a couple of FCE projects going at the same time. I've set each project with a different system setting scratch disk location. But if I open a project which should have a unique scratch disk location folder that I've already set before for that project, it ignores the setting I set for that project and just shows the scratch disk setting for the last project opened instead. It does not appear to save or remember the unique setting for that project.
If you have multiple projects going at the same time, is there a way to save the systems settings scratch disk location for each project and have FCE remember that location for each project?

I turned off the Open Last Project on Application Launch in the User Preferences and it still does not remember the unique scratch disk settings for each project.
Since it is quite common to be working on multiple projects simultaneously, you would think that there would be a way in which to save the settings for each project to help keep all related files better organized.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Can we create BS name is different name for SAP rather than SID

    Hi All,
Business system 'A' is configured for SAP system and some IDOCS interfaces are running on with this busiess system name.
but actually business system 'A' name is not the SAP system ID(lets say 'B').
Now Client proxy scenario is configured. Its taking business system 'B' which is system id when testing from SAP to XI.
But its taking business system 'A' when sending any IDOCs from SAP to XI.
How is this possible. It should actually determine the system ID as business system ID.
And also what will happen to the existing interfaces if we delete and create the bsuiness system as system ID('B')
Your help would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sekhar D

    Hi sekhar,
    correct my understanding if wrong,
Do u have two different BS maintained in SLD for same SAP system? and for BS A there are already some IDOc scenario's in place. And now BS is created with sys ID and you want to migrate the earlier scenarios ot new BS "B".
I think for BS A you will have the SWCV, you can associate that SWCV to the new BS in SLD , then the exsiting objects will come under BS B. and then you can delete the earlier BS and configure the ID part .
    Regard,
    Srinivas

  • How can I have 2 iMacs in different locations communicate?

I have 2 iMacs located 100  miles from each other. Both are connected to internet by highspeed cable. Is there any way I can get something from the hard drive of the other, communicate between the two? Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hey Leslie,
It sounds like you are a little amateur at computers, so I would recommend using LogMeIn Ignition, which is a free service that let's your access all your computers from your mobile 3G device, or even your other iMac. If you only want to move certain files over to the other computer with ease, you can currently use iDisk, and later use iCloud when Apple releases that later this fall. Advanced users can use web servers to access disks via FTP or STP.

  • Can you down load music on different computers for nano

I have my own music down loaded on to my Nano. I no longer have use of that computer. Can I safely add to my collection of songs on the Nano with using another computer without wiping out my data?

Yes, but you must first configure your iPod for manual management by enabling the Manually manage music option from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.

  • Can I move address bar to different location?

IE allows me to drag address bar to another location (up to menu bar or down). I am assuming this it NOT possible in Firefox? Please confirm.
P.S. I'm using Firefox 3.6.12. Cannot upgrade because I'm on dial-up and my web booster does not support later versions of Firefox.

Why do you still want to go back to Firefox 3.6.x if there is no difference in speed?
Quote: ''I did install a current version of Firefox and, no, it was not faster than Firefox 3.6 with the web booster enabled.''
If you want to use Firefox 3.6 then at least use the last 3.6.28 version and not an older 3.6.12
    *https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest-3.6/
Current Firefox versions have a much larger disk cache (350 MB in multiple folders for faster access) compared to Firefox 3.6 (50 MB), so you should be able to store much more data on your computer.
