Library database error

Hi, before giving details of my problem, I am using OS Lion and Aperture 3 with the latest updates.
Yesterday I had problems with Aperture running very slowly, which eventually led to about 18 'crashes' and prompts to re-start my Macbook Pro.
My problem became serious when Aperture wouldn't load up due to an error with the library database.
I moved the corrupted library database out of the default location and re-started Aperture and a new library.
My real problem is that within the corrupted database I have around 200 photo's from a wedding shoot that I can't access.
As the official photographer at a friends daughters wedding this is giving me sleepless nights.
Has anyone encountered this sort of problem and does anyone know whether the database can be fixed so I can access my photo's ?

Typically, you would run the first two items in the 'First Aid' options (Repair Database and Repair Permissions) outlined at the following link:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
The Repair Database may sort the issue for you.
Note - the third 'Rebuild Database' is not recommended until all other options have been exhausted and a backup copy of the library has been made. There have been mixed reports on the results in some cases, so a caution is warranted.
Final note - double-clicking on the troubled library while pressing the 'Command + Option' keys will allow you to run the First Aid on that library.
Let us know how it goes.

  • "no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path" error when connecting a TNS database co

    Hi
"no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path" error when connecting a TNS database connection
I have the same problem 'error code' when testing the connection to a database although I have an APEX db that connects without a problem.
I have re downloaded jre & SQL Developer just to ensure all files are where they should be with no luck.
I've also tried most of the suggestions in various threads.
Does anyone know what exactly causes this error?
eg; should I be looking for a file called 'ocijdbc11' & put it into the 'java.library.path' path?
Can anyone explain to a newbie at db connections what I should do?
I'm using the 'thin' client as the checkbox is clear & I don't know what path to enter into the correct file to make this work??
This is & needs to connect as a TNS connection & was working fine until recently, the only change I can think of is a move of files from the 'C' drive but I thought redownloading SQL Developer would slove this.
    Thanks

When you reinstalled SQL Developer, did you install into a new directory (ie rename or delete the old directory first)?
I don't know if system setup contains directory references (which might be invalid after moving the location of SQL Developer). Does renaming your system2.1.1.64.45 directory (in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\SQL Developer) help? Note that your connections are in the connections.xml file in the o.jdeveloper.db.connection.11.1.1.2.36.55.30 subdirectory of system2.1.1.64.45 - you will either need to export connections before renaming and then import again after or copy this file to test if you can connect.
Finally, the TNS Names directory preference is just a way of telling SQL Developer where to look for the tnsnames.ora file, rather than just assuming it will pick the right one. If you go to create a new connection, do you get the right list of TNS aliases? If not, then set this preference to the directory where the right tnsnames.ora file lives.

  • Error message repairing library database keeps appearing in iPhoto in iMac

Why does the error message "repairing library database" keeps appearing?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version"

After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version".  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry,
Yes, the error message is exactly like that  ("Database error: failured to persist version")
No photos will import at all.  I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
About the difference?  iPhoto and Photos .  Are there two softwares?
I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro,  iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto.  It's call iPhoto library.  At one point I turned off streaming.
    Thanks again Larry HN.

  • Database error when creating a report

    Hi all,
When we are creating a report with a universe based on BW, we are getting this error message:

When I test the connection of the universe in Designer, the result is ok. Also, when I create a report on Rich Client, the report is created fine.

  • Import Issue : "Database error: can't get path to master" when attempting to import photos (referenced method)

    Hi Everyone,
I have a NAS (Network Attached Storage) which holds my photos. I want to import them into Apple photos (but via the reference method).
I did this by going to Preferences/General and unchecking the 'Importing: Copy items to the Photo library' option.
I connect to my NAS via AFP and have mount 'Media' which is where my photos are stored.
I select the file/import option, navigate to aforementioned photo location and select the "Review for import" button
I then receive an error which states:
    Unreadable File
The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).
    Filename                    Reason
Filename.jpg              Database Error: can't get path to master
The above error happens on multiple file types.....
    However ...
If I tick the option in the preferences/general to 'Importing : Copy items to photo library" option then the file will import successfully.
I of course don't want to import the files I want them to be referenced...
    Anyone else experiencing this issue????
    Thanks in advance.
    Benjamin

If this is a 3rd party application, I would seek out that company and ask for an updated version compatible with 2010, then it would be a matter of simply installing it per their instructions.
Otherwise, the best course of action is to deactivate the feature from WSSv3 prior to removal. If that is no longer possible, then use
FeatureAdmin to remove the feature from within 2010.

  • Drive not found in library database

    Greetings.
I'm new to OSB and am having tape drive, volume problems.
File system backups only complete successfully when drive (IBM4_0_0_1_1) is used. When OSB attempts to use other drives in the library it logs the following errors listed in "Transcript".
I'm running OSB (10.4.0.3.0) on a Linux server (Oracle Linux Server release 6.0) with a SL500 library controller by a ACSLS(8.3.0) server.
    Please advise.

    Thanks for your response.
ACSLS is part of the configuration requirements I need to have in this OBS environment.
I'm going to re install OBS just to see if anything changes.
    Thanks again.
    Update:
When configuring devices in OSB that are ACSLS in nature it is a requirement to restart the obacslibd after mkdev or certain chdev commands are preformed.
After the daemon was restarted I was able to use the attached tape drives.

  • Muse Crashes - Where's the Love? App Launch Failures & Database Errors

I really love Adobe Muse but I'm really frustrated by it's instability.
There are two general problems that I consistently experience.
    App Launch Issues
Firstly, and an issue I am experiencing right now is, a launch error where the program refuses to open displaying an error message then crashes immediately.
    Today's message is:
Anyone experienced this before or have a solution? I tired signing in and out of Creative Cloud and uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Muse and same issue.
Database Errors / Save File Errors
I can generally expect for a Muse save file to become totally unusable for some sort of random database error totally messing up my save file making me have to step back to one I've previously saved. Just like the wii brought back load time in a serious way Adobe Muse is bringing back incremental save practices we'd all LOVE to abandon.
    Why This Sucks
I don't do high-end web development but I offer basic sites to clients with simple needs and I find Muse to be a delightful product given my skills and base in photoshop.
Not being able to update sites or launch the application at all is SUPER annoying.
It certainly justifies NOT using Adobe Muse for complex sites.
If there is a general approach I can take to avoiding these issues I'm all eyes and fingers.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Solution for "Üser ID Mismatch"
Please do the following steps and you will be all set.
    1. Sign out from Muse By going to Help > Sign out. (if you see the option to do that)
    2. Sign out from Creative Cloud Application. (Steps are mentioned in the link Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app), then Quit Creative Cloud Application.
    3. Rename the "OOBE" folder to "OOBEold"
MAC : (This folder can be found at Finder > Go > Go to Folder> Type ~/library/application support/Adobe > Hit return)
Widows : ( This folder can be found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe )
    4. Relaunch Muse, Sign in with your Adobe ID.
    Suggestion for database error:
Is the file saved on local location or at a network drive or external location live Dropbox or Google drive.
Please move the file to desktop and then try to save the file after making few changes. Hopefully you will not get any error.
If you still get the error please share the exact error screenshot.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Hi,
I've started to get the message 'Hyperion Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error' when trying to run a Query. I'm not sure what caused this to start happening. Has anyone come across this issue and if so, how did you fix it?
    Thanks!

  • On my RMBP (10.8.2) Aperture 3.4.3 won't start due to a database error

On my RMBP (10.8.2) Aperture 3.4.3 will not start due to a database error.  Command+Option start of Aperture is giving me the same error and not giving me a repair/rebuild choice.  My iPhoto library (migrated from iPhoto to Aperture a couple of weeks ago) is kept on an external LaCie SSD which I have been unmounting when I take the MBP to work.  I did notice earlier today that I had a '/Volumes/LaCie' and '/Volumes/LaCie 1'.  Rebooting the MBP caused the '/Volumes/LaCie 1' to go away and I only see '/Volumes/LaCie' now.
The precise error I'm getting is "There was an error opening the database for the library “/Volumes/LaCie/iPhoto Library”. "
    Suggestions?

It was in the middle of a Flickr sync and I disconnected the external LaCie cable (Thunderbolt) because I coult not get the disk to dismount because  Aperture had it open while sync'ing.  A lesson learned was to unset the automatic Flickr sync option from Aperture.
This can corrupt your Aperture library, and even the file system on the drive so that you may be unable to mount it. Really no good idea.
Aperture has a buil-in facility to stop running activities. Launch the Activity Viewer (from the main menu bar):
         Window > Show Activity.
In this window you can see the status of ongoing activities and may cancel them safely.

  • What does it mean in IPhoto repairing library database?

I opened iPhoto and it gave me an error regarding my library database.  What does this mean?  It is now "repairing library database".  What is this doing?

iPhoto is essentially a database index that keeps track of the photos in its library. When something goes wrong with that database index, it can be rebuild to fix errors.
You can read more about this in this article  iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library

  • Documaker ini changes for library database

    Hi experts,
When I am connecting to the database it is throwing an error.
    Cannot open library database <test1>.
Check that the registered pathname exists.
I re configured the ini files but still having the same issues. What are the steps I need to take to resolve this issue ?
    Version 12.0.1.15380
    Build Nov 12 2011
    Thank You,
    Bikas Swain

    Hello Bikas,
You don't give us much to work with here!
Do you get that error when trying to connect to a workspace in Studio... or when you try to run a batch?
How is your library stored? Legacy CodeBase 5 or in a DBMS through and ODBC connection?
Is this a library created in 12.0 or whas it created in an older version?
Exactly what messages are you getting? Documaker usually throws a few crytic numbers and messages for each error it encounters.
If it is a CodeBase 5 database, try to locate that group:
    < DBHandler:Test >
    Class = CB5
    Debug = No
    Description = Déploiement vers Acceptation
    File = \\Ntdonl5\DocumakerDataAH\Accp\DEFLib\MASTER.LBY
Make sure that the path AND file name are correct.
