Library deleted - Record iPod tracks on cd

I deleted all my itunes library (and all downloaded tracks), and now, I have all these tracks in my iPod, but I can´t record it on cd, or copy at new iTunes library... Any ideas?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You cannot burn a song onto a CD if it is only on your iPod (and not on your computer). You cannot move songs from iPod to computer using iTunes either.
You can use this software to move songs from iPod to computer (and into iTunes)...
YamiPod
Once the songs are on your computer you can burn them to a CD (through iTunes).

  • My old computer crashed and I lost my old library of recorded CD's and new music.  I downloaded iTunes again and found my old account info.  How do I add a new CD without deleting all of my music on my iPod?

My old Computer crashed and I lost my old library of recorded CD's and tunes.  iTunes says I must delete everything off my iPod in order to add a new CD.  It also said I already have an account which I was able to locate.  I don't know how to get into my old account.  I think that would solve everything.  I have Windows XP.  I'd appreciate any input.

    No.
All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?
    The same applies here.

    Hey glocster,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Looks like you have a song you want to remove from your iPod. This article tells you how to delete content from a lot of places.
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store

Is your computer still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?

  • I have an iPod Classic and when I try to move songs from my library to my iPod, my iTunes freezes. When I tried to eject my iPod, nothing happened and I had to force quit iTunes. When I unplugged my iPod, all of my songs had been deleted. What can I do?

After attempting to move songs from my iTunes library to my iPod Classic, the pinwheel kept spinning and iTunes froze. I tried pressing CTRL E to eject the iPod, but nothing happened. I unplugged the iPod then force quit iTunes, but when I checked my iPod all of the songs had been deleted. I tried plugging the iPod back in and slowly moved music over again, but iTunes still froze. I don't want to restore it to factory settings because I am afraid of losing the pictures I have on there and can't figure out how to get them off.

    Are you using a Macbook?
If all your songs on the iPod are deleted, most likely the photios are gone too.
Unless you put the photos, via Diskmode.
To recover the photos that you've put in Diskmode, use Finder to locate where it is in the iPod.
Try also if iPhoto can locate those photos.

  • What is the best approach to track deleted records

    Dear all,
We have build a CMS platform which is based on SQL server 2012 tables structure hosted in Azure.
We have build on top of this some REST API method in order to access data from any type of client application.
The issues we need to solved now is what his the best way to track deleted records in order that client application gets informed through web service about deleted data from our CMS.
We were thinking of 2 path actually :
    - having a kind of Ghost table for each of our real table where deleted records will be inserted into ( physical delete ). This would mean adding as many Ghost tables as we have production tables
    - Adding a IsDeleted flag to each of our table which will be set to true when a record is deleted from our CMS ( logical delete ). This would means adding an IsDelete field to each of our tables, create and update all our store procedure and web services
in order to taken in account that new filter criteria to fetch our records. Quite huge job
Will there be any other approach ?
We are looking the best solution with minimum impact on our current solution

    Hello,
    @Tom, based on your question
"The question would be what do you need to do with the deleted records and how long do you need to keep them?"
When records is deleted, then I simply want to delete them and informed any client application about deleted items in order to get data in Sync. I will not have any reporting on deleted data !
The only reason of tracking delete tables items, is simply to informed client application through web service sync about the data to be ignored. Client application have a caching database records for performance reason and is is require to not used data
from that local storage which has been reported as deleted by the SQL server on Aure.
    Does this make sense ?
    regards

" When I did this, my library showed all the music I have "purchased" from itunes but did not have the music that I downloaded a long time ago through itunes from my old CDs."
    Correct.
" How can I get that music to show up in my library now on my new computer?  "
Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod.

  • Ok i needed to flush my computer because i had a virus and i had to delete all my music is there a way i can get the library from my ipod onto the new itunes i downloaded because i dont want to have to download all the songs again

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

  • Deleted my library from my ipod...

I just deleted my entire library from my ipod!!! Let me explain-- I am living in Colorado for the ski season and I tried to put my ipod/itunes onto my laptop here so I could put new music on it. When I plugged the cord into the port, itunes came up and the message said,"This ipod has a library on another computer would you like to delete it and use this one?" I clicked yes, thinking it would just let me install my library onto my ipod and put all the itunes library on my laptop computer. But it deleted all my files from my ipod completely and all my cds, etc. are at home in Indiana!!! Is there ANY WAY I can get them back onto my ipod? I have tried the recover4all thing, didn't work... Or maybe I don't know how to use it?!? I can't imagine a day on the slopes without my ipod!! HELP!!

The songs are gone. If you want to try some data recovery software (like the one you mentioned), there a post here that mentions some.

Maybe someone at home can burn your iTunes library to CD or DVD, send them to you and you can then import them into your iTunes on the laptop and back onto your iPod?

  • Why would iTunes 9.2.1.5 automatically DELETE my iPod's entire music library???

    Hi everyone,
I have an iPod Classic running software ver 1.3.  I keep (kept) my entire music library on the iPod rather than on my laptop.  I've used the iPod this way for nearly 5 years now.  This morning I connected the iPod to my Windows Vista laptop, running iTunes 9.2.1.5, which I do almost every day.
Today was unusual.  When iTunes started up, it told me it was "syncing your iPod," then DELETED everything in my iPod's music library which wasn't purchased on the iTunes website.  Because I only bought a handful of songs from iTunes, this reduced my music library from 25 Gigs to a little less than 15 Megs.  Then iTunes crashed.
Why would iTunes DO this???  I feel like I've been mugged.  That library took years to collect and organize and I don't have access to a lot of the original sources.  The worst part of it all is I had no inkling nor warning that anything was amiss until it was all too late.  And why would iTunes spare only what I'd purchased from the iTunes store???  Is this some sick way of ensuring Apple is the sole gateway to our music access?

It sounds like your iPod did an automatic sync. Whether or not you had it set up that way or not I'm not sure. Anyway, when your iPod automatically syncs it makes sure your iPod MATCHES your iTunes library. If you have no songs in your library (because "I keep (kept) my entire music library on the iPod rather than on my laptop") then it will delete all the songs on the iPod to match the iTunes library. The only exception is that it will copy any iTunes purchased songs from your iPod back to your computer as a way of safe-keeping your iTunes purchased songs.
As a side note, there are way too many people on this forum that don't keep their library on their computer (25 Gigs doesn't take up that much room) or at least store it on an external hard drive (they're cheap). Too many things can happen to your iPod such as; theft, damage, malfunction, or your experience that not keeping a back-up copy is risking losing a "library that took years to collect and organize". I know that I have all the CDs that make up my 31,000 song library that are all on my iPod Classic but I still keep them on my computer AND my backup hard drive. I know if I lost my iPod I really wouldn't want to rip all those CDs again, not to mention hunting down missing artwork.

  • How do I use a song in my iTunes library to record with in garage band on my iPhone?

How do I use a song in my iTunes library to record with in garage band on my iPhone? Like music from my library I want to use invGarageBand to record over.

    Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
    Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
